Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful flat, excellent location, be aware... - Pros: Perfect location! Everything was walkable. Lovely street right in great neighborhood but still quiet despite the nightlife. Kitchen had nice amenities. Washer and air conditioner. Very pretty room, plenty of space and storage space. They left us a bottle of white wine and cookies.
Cons: Front door is a bit tricky. You need to get used to it - pull it very hard to close it or it does not fully latch and then key won't work. Light in bathroom flashed like a discotech. Towel rod in bathroom was broken and just leaning on the screw. VERY limited hot water. Could barely get through one shower. (I know in Rome they have small water heaters but we stayed in 3 different flats over our trip and none of the others had this little hot water.) All of these things did not negatively affect our stay.
Issue: Be aware of phishing by the host. Even though we paid when we booked, we proceeded to get multiple emails sent by the hotel through hotels.com saying that our room payment is still pending and we needed to enter our credit card information. We had booked months in advance and I knew hotels.com had a pay later option. The emails come from hotels.com so look very legitimate. After a few emails I actually even put in my credit card information thinking that hotels.com knew what they were talking about, but before I pressed enter, I went back and double checked my credit card. DO NOT DOUBLE PAY. The payment phishing was scary, though I am sure just an error from host.
- Richard (8/5): Good value - The Good: Excellent location. Probably 30 restaurants within a 5 minute walk. It's ground level, but with 2 gates to go through before the front door, you feel safe and secure. The late evening noise is minimal as well.
The unit has a lot of space, and the bed is a decent size. The AC works very well as well, for a comfortable sleep.
Be aware of: Hot water tank is small. It's allows for 2 quick showers before it needs to refill. The kitchen has supplies but it is only moderately stocked. There is a musty smell to the unit, as others have mentioned in reviews, but you don't really notice it after you've been in there for a couple minutes. The photos are relatively accurate, but they do make the place look newly painted, which it isn't.
Overall, good value, and worth the selection for the location and size of the unit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This apartment is in a fantastic location on a beautiful street in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome, walking distance to everything Rome has to offer. It is quietly tucked away through a gated alley and courtyard. The space has huge potential (and features a beautiful painted ceiling) but is in great need of maintenance and upkeep as well as a new, larger hot water heater and sofa bed. It is also fairly damp and musty smelling, but if you visit in warmer weather, it is possible to leave the window wide open all day which greatly helps.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I don’t complain and in general this apartment is in a great location and has the ability to be GREAT!... the the things that need work are BIG ones. My family stayed here with a 2 year old and. The photo can be a bit deceiving as it shows a bright modern fun loft vibe. The walls have lots of stains and the kitchen is a big dingy . I can deal with that but the heating unit was positioned so high up the wall that it sent the heat rising straight to the loft making it stifling while leaving the downstairs freezing. We had jackets on inside most of the time.
The tiny hot water heater made it impossible to finish showering without freezing...forget washing your hair & an angry toddler having to take cold showers isn’t fun.
Last thing is THE DOOR! The lock is impossible & we got both locked IN AND OUT of the house.
Long story short: if you don’t have kids and are easy going? It’s fine; good price.....but not for s family. It can feel a bit like camping indoors
