- Erika (5/5): Passable - It’s a bit spacious compare to others. The staff are not friendly, they don’t speak English and we waited for hours before we can check-in even it’s already time.

Super convenient to go around. The elevator gets too busy, facilities are a little too old and worn. I requested for a hair dryer but it didn’t work. One tv had no remote control.

- Ana (9/5): Very satisfied - I like that the hotel rate are very reasonable and are all inclusive (no hidden charges) except for the 100$ deposit to get the key card which is refundable in full amount after you checkout. The location are very accessible to almost tourist spots, market and mall (Victoria harbor, Avenue of the star, museum of art, 2mins ferry boat to hongkong island, etc). Very near to MRT. (Taxi fare was 278$ including baggage fees that took us into less than 30mins ride. We are family of 5 (3 adults and 2 toddlers). The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room are small yet very clean and tidy with bath towels and sleepers. Location of the hotel is near the entrance of chungking mansion and on the next floor (4to5floor). All in all, it was worth it for a budgeted layover travel. There is only one elevator.

- L9717MQmarinaf (2/5): Not planned, so overpriced - We booked other hotel, but they had to cancel it,(this is other review) so we desesperately look for a room during the day. Prices were not fixed, and they negotiate. We paid 200$ per night for a room. I will never pay that again for that room with such a terrible bed.

We felt unsafe staying here, so we had to cancel the booking and go else where on the day of booking, since we were on an international trip. Lost all the money as well since it was past the cancelation period. Very disappointing!

- m (6/5): - ビルの下にいる方たちがとても怖かった けれど入る時だけだったのですぐに慣れました。 日本語は喋れる方はいませんが、英語が喋れる方がいたのでわからないことがあったら聞いてと言われ、優しい方でした。 ベッドはとても硬かったです。(1日で慣れました。) シャワー、トイレはいっしょで仕切りがなく、トイレはびしょびしょになりました。浴槽はなかったです。変換プラグ、タコ足もついていたので持ってく必要はなさそうです。 ドライヤーもあり、ちゃんと乾かせました◎ シャンプーとボディーソープ、歯ブラシ、バスタオルがついていました。歯ブラシは大きいので使わなかったです。また、ハンドソープは置いてなかったです。ハンガーは４つありました。お湯を沸かすポットもありました。 シャワーのところは毛があり、気になる人は気になると思います。 立地は、チムサーチョイ もイーストチムサーチョイも行けて、近くにコンビニもあるのでとても便利でした。近くにタピオカ屋さんがあったのも嬉しかったです。 100万ドルの夜景を見に行くのもとても近くて歩いて行けました。 女人街から歩いて帰ったりもしました。 とても立地はよかったです。怖かったけど。
- Nancy (8/5): Great location. - The hotel is good, not great. Could be a little cleaner, I found lots of hair in the shower. It's not that expensive considering its great location. I was given a round bed that wasn't that comfortable, my feet hang out of it. And you have to make long lines to use the elevator to get to the hotel floor. The receptionist was very friendly and the room was spacious for that kind of hotel. Overall, it was a good stay. I would recommend it.

- martin00136 (10/5): Living in the heart of Hong Kong - I stayed in this hotel for a night on last Thursday. Quick check in & out, the room is bigger than i expected and there is plenty of room for two. Enjoyed so much of the view of Nathan road. Windows used in my room maybe soundproof cuz I didnt hear too much noise from the outside. The room was clean and plenty of hot water from the shower. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

- Disappointed (2/5): - Worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The lift is old and small. It's actually not a hotel but an old building and Sunshine hotel occupies the 5th floor and some other hotel operators occupy the other floors. There is no table, chair, wardrobe, water and kettle in the 2 rooms that I booked. The name of the building is called Chungking Mansion. Even before you enter the building, there will be a few men approaching you asking you if you need a room! The staff registered me by writing my name in a book. I was not given an acknowledgement letter to sign which is very unsual. I was given only 1 access card per room instead of the usual 2 cards per room. When I arrived, the rooms were not immediately available. I had to wait for the rooms to be cleaned. The staff could not speak English but that's fine as they could speak Mandarin and I could speak some Cantonese. The counter was manned by 1 elderly man who was not wearing uniform nor had a name tag. The bedsheet was not changed. There were hair on the floor and on the bed. My son suffered from itch in his room while my friend and I also felt itchy in my room. We had to move out of the room the next day as it was not comfortable at all

The room was relatively small and the washroom was tiny and when you take a shower the shower sprays all over and the entire bathroom is wet and slippery floors. Recommend for the price and close to stores and food and short term only but not long term
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient budget hotel in huge downtown multistory firetrap. I stayed twice, outbound & homebound on a trip into mainland China. It's on the 4th & 5th floors of Chungking Mansions, very convenient for Kowloon transport & amenities. (4th floor closed for refurbishment.) Staff welcoming, have basic English. Room small, almost all taken up by a circular bed, looks like a junior manager's love-nest. Furnishings ticky-tacky but clean, a/c worked, hot water never better than lukish, second stay shower/loo area had no partition so light streamed into bedroom from uncurtained shower area window. I felt I got what I paid for, might stay again BUT the big concern is fire hazard. Chungking Mansions are a huge apt block, must be 40 or 50 similar budget hotels within it. Enter via ground floor mall which is a Little Bengal of cafes, money exchanges, sim-card shops etc. Access hotel via dilapidated slow lift, held together by bits of plywood like a failed primary school project, often long lines for lifts. As Whole Sunshine is only on 5th floor (and floors aren't high) I preferred the stairs. The Mansions are a fire tragedy waiting to happen, with combustibles heaped all around the passageways and stairs, staff smoking next to these, loose electric cabling, and cafes juggling hot ghee down in the mall.

- Patrick (6/5): - To be fair, the hotel made a great effort in their renovations, however the toilet/bathroom facilities felt like it was half completed (nothing that cannot be fixed of course), but the greatest two issues were: (1) trying to manage your way through a literal horde of guest house leasors, watch sellers and suit tailors (up to 40 people at least) that were proverbial flies and would not leave you alone, and (2) trying to find the actual entrance into the hotel complex.
- Gary (4/5): Clean but low end hotel doesn't take credit cards - Let me start with the good points: 1) hotel is clean; 2) You feel safe in an otherwise sketchy building; 3) shower works well. Now the problems: 1) they don't take credit cards - only cash; 2) bed and pillows are ROCK hard - almost like sleeping on the floor; 3) room is very small and there is no desk to work at. The hotel is very hard to find - it's inside the Chungking Mansion building on the 5th floor. Have to take elevator B to get to the hotel. And it's a very sketch elevator...mostly we ended up walking the stairs via a back alley...also sketch). Frankly the biggest problem is the lack of taking credit cards - created a real hardship (and cost) for me to pull lots of cash from ATM to pay the bill.
