Guest Reviews
- Leigh (8/5): - Clean pleasant room. Comfy bed. Staff helpful. Handy location for Hammersmith. Safe location. Nice walk across the Thames. Very nice.
- Sarah (10/5): - Quick check in, room was good size and clean apart from a few specks on the carpet. Fan was provided as the room was warm being higher up. Perfect location for concert in Hammersmith and walk across Hammersmith bridge to the station.
- Omer (10/5): - Perfect location
- Camilla (10/5): - Room was very comfortable and quiet. Very clean. Great location. Stayed a few times at The Bridge and it's consistently excellent - prices vary but usually it's good value for money.
- Alastair (8/5): - Lovely room with soundproof windows to ensure a good night's sleep.
- Joanna (10/5): Perfect pub stay - Nice clean room, lovely to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. Lovely modern bathroom. Great value place to stay-I’ll be back!
- Jewel (6/5): - This is not close to main attractions in London. It is in a suburb of Richmond, close to Hammersmith station( 15min walk, across the Hammersmith bridge.) You need to learn the metro system and should have no mobility issues to stay here. The stairs are narrow, no elevator , and steps can be dangerous if you are not paying attention. The rooms are clean and tidy, and AC goes to18C as the lowest temp. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbor's noises. This is a pub hotel, so it is not a typical hotel
No staff or lobby 24/7. The lobby is in the bar.
If you are looking for a relatively cheaper room than the ones in downtown London, and don'tmind the commute, this can work for you. Specially if you just want a place to drop your luggages and sleep. The neigborhood is quiet
- Raymond (8/5): - A lovely quiet area of London with wonderful Thames River bank walks. The Bridge is a good pub and the rooms are nice, comfortable and functional. Cleaning and pub staff were all friendly and helpful. Good value.
- Janet (10/5): - Absolutely amazing place to stay the staff and the service fantastic I will be back 😊
- bamdad (10/5): - Good location, nice facility. Operates like a pub with rooms above. The quality of the rooms was very high.
- Robert (10/5): - Lovely pub to stay at, wonderful beer garden at the back, food is excellent and only a short walk from Hammersmith underground, will recommend to other Aussie friends traveling to london
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely pub with very good rooms - Lovely pub with very good rooms at reasonable prices. Excellent menu, very friendly staff
- Tiberiu (10/5): - Excellent room , cossy and spotless !
- Steven (10/5): Thoughtful friendly staff at nice hotel - Top notch service with friendly, helpful staff. We checked in late and they offered ideas for food without pushing their own pub meals. The highlight was them calling us a few days later to inform us we had left some valuables behind. They then posted these to us at our request. They went out of their way - 5 stars overall
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely stay - Our stay was very comfortable. And, the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating
- Samantha (6/5): - I didn’t like the fact that the windows did not open. The air con vent above my head was dirty
It made the room feel very claustrophobic
I asked to move to a room where the windows opened but this wasn’t possible
- Elizabeth (4/5): - It was mainly beneficial as it was close to Train station and venue of event we were going to. Other than that felt the price was not justified for 2 nights. Rooms were clean. Accessibility 2 floors away. Breakfast was really not what i thought it was going to be could have opted not paying the extra if i had known. Would not recommend long term stay. Maybe just as an emergency if you are stranded and need a room or something.
- Feona (6/5): - It was dirty in the room and bathroom corners etc.
AC didn’t work and tv no signal.
Staff were very pleasant
Bed was comfortable and all in all an ok ish experience
- Carrie (10/5): Great stay - Great stay in a great location. Have stayed here before & would be happy to return.
- Carol (10/5): - This was a great place to come home to every evening after being among the crowds in London. It is in a quiet residential community just off the river right across the bridge from Hammersmith tube station - which you can get anywhere from. It was small but very clean - nice fluffy big towels, towel warmer and clean fresh bedding. The room was above a pub so we were worried about noise but there was very little. Highly recommend!
- michael (8/5): Suitably impressed - Very welcoming staff, excellent sound proofing as you are above a bar/restaurant. Rooms well presented and shower decent.
- Michal (10/5): - Great location, nice clean rooms and toilets. Cosy pub. Great staff.
- Keith (10/5): - Good location, pleasant & quiet room (No.8). Overall we'll maintained & presented. Bathroom - water leak from toilet cistern, floor often wet. Shower - more thorough cleaning/bleaching needed, mould/dirt at base & corners of shower tray. Bathroom ceiling - flaking paint needs attention. Breakfasts - poor, VERY basic continental only, no fruit juice, staff seemed reluctant to replenish items. Would however stay again and recommend.
- Rachel (10/5): - Walls were a bit thin but other than this it was a lovely room. The pub is gorgeous and it’s very good value for money with breakfast included. There is a separate door to get to your room which is great so you don’t have to walk through the pub to come and go. Very spacious room and very comfortable bed. Highly recommend.
- Christian (6/5): - I didn't like that there was a leak in the sink. The curtains were also difficult to pull down. Expedia advertised the room as breakfast included but the confirmation email did not have breakfast included.
- Judy-May (6/5): - Room was good, bed comfortable. carpet in corridor dingy. Tea/coffee option in room no decaffeinated and couldn't find room with complimentary milk. Options on dinning expensive considering across Hammersmith Bridge had a vast selection of options at reasonable prices. Breakfast as an extra ridiculous.
- Amy (10/5): - Easily walkable from Hammersmith station (and therefore easy walk back to the Apollo) this was a nice clean stay with good food downstairs and a quiet night
- Alberta (8/5): - Kindness
- carlawN3551KH (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Bridge and can’t recommend it enough. Our room was lovely, really bright and comfortable. Great shower. The room had plenty of tea and coffee (with a nespresso machine) and fresh milk, yoghurts and other goodies available in a fridge that was located just outside the rooms. Staff were really friendly and the pub had a lovely beer garden. A 10 minute walk to Hammersmith tube station. It’s in a great location. I would definitely recommend.
- Glenn (10/5): Great pub and room - We had a concert at Hammersmith and chose this place as it was close to the venue. The staff were all very friendly and the room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. I would recommend staying here if you need to be in the Hammersmith area
- chris (10/5): - Lovely room and decent food, will definitely stay again!
- Victoria (8/5): Perfect stay for Eventium concerts. - We have stayed several times and always get a warm welcome.
This time we found the bathroom in need of some maintenance and that is the only reason for 4 stars rsther than 5.
Evening food us lovely.
Perfect location for a short walk to the Eventium Apollo
- Caroline (10/5): Great London location - Great London base location, quiet and comfortable and still 20mins from central London. Friendly staff and lovely food from the pub restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really good location for Hammersmith station. Comfy beds and great shower, liked the coffee machine in the room. We thought the self service breakfast was a great idea as we could grab when we wanted to,wouldve been nice to have a selection of cereals though.
Parking on road was easy but the bridge didnt have any permits left, we left a note in the window, not sure if we will receive a penalty notice in the post. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Would definitely consider staying here again, excellent value for money.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Several nitpicks: The "kitchen" is just a closet with a refrigerator containing milk, yogurt, and industrially made muffins. (If there was another kitchen, I never figured out how to get to it.) No washcloths. No fitted sheet: instead, a flat sheet was used for the mattress. The carpet in the hallway has lots of stains.
Positives: I loved the location for several reasons (being close to the river, in a quiet neighborhood, and near restaurants and cafes). The manager let us check in early because we were exhausted from our transatlantic flight, which was much appreciated. All staff members we encountered could not have been nicer.
- Kevin (10/5): - A great stopover for the Eventim..next time will allow enoigh time for a meal and drink or 2 in the bar.
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely little find - Two night stay for an event. Easy access to transport (short walking distance). Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was a decent size and shower room/loo was good size. Very clean and good quality sheets and towels (good size towels that were soft!). Easy check in/out process. Coffee etc available in room with real milk kept in fridge along corridor (not the little plastic tubs). Ate in the pub below the evening we arrived which was lovely and decent price for London - relaxed atmosphere. No issues with noise from the pub. We’d definitely stay here again.
- Susie (6/5): Good find. Communal areas need a refresh. - Great, quiet and smart location , convenient for Hammersmith tube into town (10 min walk) . I parked my car for £5 all day.
Good food in the pub. The room was excellent value and newly refurbed and clean. There was a slight drain smell from the bathroom and also in the stairwell leading up. Stair carpet in a bad way|! Bathroom itself very nice.
- Tom (10/5): - Excellent location for a one night stay when we attended an event at the Apollo (Hammersmith Bridge open to pedestrians but not traffic - so v quiet at the time of our visit). Good food in pub. Friendly service. Would book again.
- dollyloulondon (6/5): Could do better - The rooms look lovely, nicely decorated but there were a few issues. The communal Carpets are very stained and there is a fair bit of staining on the room carpets but nothing like outside the rooms . We had two rooms , only one had drinking water provided. One of the bedrooms had dirty bed linen and the sink leaked a bit. In the other room there was an issue with the shower. Part of the rail that holds the shower head on the wall fell off mid shower as it was all very rusty behind . The beds are very comfy and it’s very quiet in the rooms
- Johnha123 (8/5): Great but - Great place but they need to update there rooms with a smart tv and the carpets need changing but otherwise lovely place will definitely come back , food was nice aswell and great location, short walk over the bridge to the hustle and bustle , but pls update the tv
- Martin (8/5): Great location for Alice gigs - Very comfortable bed, in nice sized room, lots of hot water for washing and shower (strange hand basin with no plug? so water is wasted), heated towel rail so towels dried, room wasn't serviced on second day so no top ups of water or replacement of dirty crockery, coffee machine didn't work, very quiet as Hammersmith Bridge closed to traffic, lack of fresh air as no windows open, AC ok.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Oct 24 - Room 2. Over the pub noise til 11pm. Noise from other guests in next door room. Room in need of update, roller blind chain off. Bathroom grout needs re do.
Just looks v tired now. Carpets stained.
Coffee pod machine leaking. No room serviced.. had to ask for clean cups/t-bags/empty bins
4th stay here, def had better rooms/experience in past. Staff lovely tho
- Jordan (6/5): - Overall it was a decent stay. We loved the area and felt very safe there, outside the city of London. However, the room itself was dingy, and there were a lot of little things that could be easily repaired. The tv screen was broken. There were dozens of scuff marks along the wall. The carpet was light, showing all the stains accumulated through the years. The shower in both corners had black mold growing. And the kettle was disgusting, it was still wet from previous use and moldy and dirty. We also stayed for seven nights and never got our towels taken, even when I placed them on the floor. And the bed was always remade but never had the linens changed. My wife spilled tea at one point and the spot on the bedding stayed, so we knew it hadn’t been changed once. Quite disappointing.
- Mark (10/5): Nice affordable hotel near Heathrow - I got in pretty late and the hotel was very accommodating of me. They also had a great selection of food items for breakfast, which I appreciated. This was an affordable option that was close to the train station. I have traditionally had trouble finding good single-night hotels in preparation for next-day flights, but this was wonderful.
- Steven (10/5): - Great staff, good food and a friendly atmosphere. Nice surprise of breakfast cereal, yoghurt and muffins as this was a room booking not a b&b. Would definitely stay again.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Perfect for what we needed. Close to Fulham and Putney. Close walking for river Thames.
- Michael (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a quiet safe neighborhood a 15min walk to Hammersmith station. Extremely convenient and a pleasant stay
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Reasonable value. Could have a pint in the pub.
Road and bridge closures caused traffic problems.
- Bethany (10/5): - Had a great stay! Nice area, awesome beer garden, easy to get to the tube.
- Rob (6/5): - We booked a room for 4 nights SPECIFICALLY because their website said the room had a three window city view WITH a king bed. The room we got had neither. We had one window that overlooked a rooftop full of cigarette butts from a neighboring patio. The room had a double bed, not a king. When we questioned the discrepancy, we were told NONE of their rooms have king beds, despite their website saying they do. The other issue is that the room was miserably hot and humid. It took us three days to get the AC to cool the room to a reasonable temperature. We asked the staff for an electric fan twice, and were told they’d deliver one to the room - they never did. We were so disheartened with the room after the first night that we tried to cancel the remaining three nights and move to another hotel, but we couldn’t find a room on that short of notice, so we endured the remaining three nights.
On a positive note, the Bridge in Barnes is in a really nice little neighborhood with a great breakfast cafe on the next block, as well as a good fish and chips shop. It is a 14-15 minute walk to the Hammersmith tube (subway) station, and that made traveling around London easy and economical.
Overall, we give the Bridge in Barnes 5 stars for being in a great location (convenient, quiet, and safe). On the flip side, the room was a disappointment on several levels, so we wouldn’t consider staying there on a future trip. The room gets 3 stars.
- V6708FUstephenm (6/5): 2 night stay - Stayed for 2 nights no refresh in room dirty cups and glasses no bed made and no fresh towels . Unacceptable as not the cheapest place around dont think I will return .
I've read the the manual and think we did everything right . I have an inn and would not happen at mu establishment
- Vijay (10/5): - Convenient
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a really lovely stay
- Ola (10/5): - I was very surprised to see such a hidden gem in London. It was so unique and if you love a vintage stay or a weddind definitely go there. I will definitely come again.
- Andrew (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay at The Bridge, close to Hammersmith Tube and amenities and a nice quiet area. Our only criticism (and this is minor due to our short stay) was the lack of wardrobe, coat hangers were provided but if you are staying for 1 - 2 weeks it could be an issue. Other than that, excellent!!!
- EMMA (10/5): Lovely 2 night's - Cosy double actually quite spacious! Nice bathroom, comfy bed. Windows dont open and the aircon does take a while so my advice is put it on straight away. There was a fan we borrowed, and a shared iron.
Breakfast is cornflakes/musli. Milk in a communal fridge on a landing.
Maid came and replenished bowls, cereal (but we were getting ready so not towels etc).
Parking is street parking. I beleive a permit is required for 2 hours in the day mon-fri (their website says they sell them). Not applicable at a weekend.
- Lucinda (10/5): - The people were the best.
Special thanks to Emma, who went out of her way to help us, to Marta who went above and beyond when she cleaned our room, and to George.
- Alan (10/5): - Very good stay.
- Donna (10/5): Great Place - I really enjoyed my stay. The room was great, the staff was fun and friendly and always asked about my day.
I would recommend
- Derek (6/5): - In need of an upgrade especially the bathrooms/ leaking overflow, shower door doesn’t close. Just a bit tired. Marks on carpets. Just a pub but has more potential with a bit of TLC
- James (10/5): Great value! - We stayed in what was described as a Cosy Double.
Good value room but we were a bit uncertain about the description! ( It was very close to the venue we needed to get to)
Turned out it was a lovely room, very stylish and clean and a Great shower!
Lots of nice touches like a huge selection of teas, a pod coffee machine (pods included) sockets and usb ports by the bed. Heated shower room mirror so it didn’t mist up.
Breakfast was just corn flakes or alpen which were in the room, in the communal hallway there was a fridge with small bottles of fresh milk, two sorts of yoghurts plus some small chocolate cakes!
Oh and it has air con.
Recommend!

- Verified traveler (6/5): Honest Review - When we arrived, it was unclear as to where exactly we could park. After speaking to a member of the bar staff, it was explained that you can park directly outside. The rooms can be accessed either through the bar area or by an outside door leading onto the street. The stairs leading up to the rooms are steep, and the access is fairly narrow, which made it slightly awkward when carrying our luggage (we stayed for 2 nights), but it's not a concern unless you have mobility issues. The room itself was a "cosy" double, which wasn't made clear when booking. It wasn't a big problem (literally), but it would have been nice to know in advance. The room itself was clean and compact, with air conditioning; however, the windows did not open at all. This was an issue because there was a strong smell of gloss paint, and we had to leave the room for extended periods of time or be forced to inhale the fumes. Due to the size of the cosy double, there were no wardrobe facilities, just a few coat hangers hanging on the wall by the bed. The tea and coffee-making facilities were adequate; however, the kettle was too large to fit under the tap in the bathroom, so we had to fill a glass with water and then transfer that to the kettle, which was not ideal. Although the coffee machine was leaking, it worked okay; however, it would have been nice to have included a few sachets of instant coffee. The breakfast comprised of cornflakes and/or Alpen, with chocolate brownie and almond slices. Overall ok.
- Matthew (8/5): - Room had plenty of room for my daughter and me. Room was comfortable and quiet. Slightly tired in areas.
Location was really good and great to have street parking on the weekend.
- Rima (6/5): - From the way it was advertised i got the impression that it was an elegant pub hotel, especiallyfrom the emails we received example check into your room with no lines!!!! We laughed at the check when we got there, there was no checkin we were given the key , shown to our room and given the wrong password for internet, our room was on the 2 nd floor no elevator and very steep stairs ,very tight space. The room was small but clean. Not impressed with the pub area, smelled old, although they have beautiful outdoor garden.
- Dominic (10/5): Great links to London. - A great night, located right next to the Hammersmith and minutes from the picadilly line. My wife and I stayed for the evening and attended Queens to watch some tennis for the first time. The staff were accommodating and facilities were nice. It was easy to get too having travelled from Bristol, and the access to London (for two of us who haven’t been very often) loved it.
- Katie (10/5): Gorgeous little place - Gorgeous little place on a lovely quiet street. Spotlessly clean, lovely decor and added extras were great, cereals and access to fresh milk. Comfy bed, brilliant shower and parking nearby.

- Alan (8/5): - Great Sunday lunch.
- Gordon (8/5): - Enjoyable and suitable for a weekend visit.
Spacious room with very facilities; perhaps more attention to minor items would make even better.
Good food in pub eating area; a more varied menu would make perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): amazing hotel in hammersmith - amazing it was so cosy and lovely
- Hazel (8/5): - Lovely location, room was fairly small with limited storage but besides that, a lovely stay
- Roy (10/5): - Everything was good. We stayed as it was near to the Eventim Apollo & close to Hammersmith tube station.
We would definitely stay there again if we came back to London.
- traceyp866 (8/5): Perfect place to stay for a short stroll to The Hammersmith Apollo - Lovely pub with 8 bedrooms just over the Hammersmith bridge. (Less than 10 minutes stroll to The Apollo theatre.) Lovely quiet cosy room with comfy bed and tea and coffee and some morning breakfast options in room. Nice area to walk from and to.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 2nd time here and it was excellent once again. Close to shops, restaurants and transport. Parking is a massive bonus in this area of London. Check in is easy, staff are great and food is excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great B&B very close to everything you could need. We went for a Fulham game and was less than a 30 min stroll to the ground. Parking was easy. Food at the pub was excellent. Staff were very helpful and our room was cosy and warm with a coffee machine, tea, water, biscuits as well as cereal and milk and yogurt in the fridge. Great stay and will return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A good night's sleep - We stayed the night as we were watching a show at the riverside studios, it was the perfect location just across the river. The room itself was perfect, comfy bed, hot powerful shower and a nespresso coffee machine to make sure you start the day off right. Would definitely stay here again.
- Jamie (10/5): Comfortable and warm on a winters nights. - Comfortable and warm. Lovely room big enough for two. A nice 10 min walk from the Hammersmith Apollo.
- Lauren (10/5): Amazing stay - Lovely comfortable room, lovely little touches such as fresh milk and breakfast items. Great coffee machine!
- Carrie (10/5): Lovely stay - Very comfortable & well catered for. Great idea to have milk, yoghurts & brownie fridge to use day & night. Very much appreciated!
- RM (10/5): Hidden gem - Fantastic location very quiet but hop across the bridge and you are right in the hustle and bustle of Hammersmith and connected to everywhere. Lovely pub and the best good I've eaten on many trips, choose the pork belly. Will definitely be back.
- Guy (10/5): - Outstanding. Simply without fault. Exceptionally clean, modern and very well equipped. Bathroom immaculate. Beds were so comfy and had Egyptian cotton sheets, bath towels were soft and fluffy. 10/10
- Sarah (10/5): - First time to London and could not have choses a better place to stay!! Super clean, comfortable and great food at the pub!!
- Stephen (10/5): - Lovely place to stay when visiting hammersmith
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Great location. Terrible weather so ate in the pub, food was excellent and piping hot. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and nice extras like fresh milk, yoghurt and pastries in fridge, cereal in room.
- Hannah (10/5): Great stay! - Great stay. Super clean, reasonably priced, comfortable stay.
- Emily (8/5): - Quiet, comfortable, private.
- Alexandra (10/5): - While searching for accommodation in London, I came across the Bridge in Barnes. Important to me were above all a high number of positive reviews regarding the cleanliness and a good accessibility of a subway station (15 minutes walk). Here, both were given and also at a very good price for London. When we arrived there, we found out that there had been problems with our reservation due to a change in the booking system and we were not actually scheduled. Fortunately, there was still a room available for two of three nights and for the third night was also quickly and easily found a solution. All employees were more than friendly the whole time and took time for us. The bridge itself is very quaint and has a lot of charm. Our room was very spacious and very quiet, the bed also very comfortable (my husband says better than at home). The provison of coffe and muffins for breakfast was also a very nice thing!
We also enjoyed dinner there one evening and it was the best we had in London! Highly recommended and if we ever make it to London again we will be happy to come
- Alison (8/5): - Lovely pub with excellent sized room, nice bathroom and very comfy bed.
- Pip (10/5): No fuss smart pub stay - Staff were efficient and knowledgeable and the check in/out process was well done.
Rooms were clean, tidy and well renovated and stylish in modern/classic Victorian style appropriate for the building. Nice bathroom and things like charging points by the bed and free tea & breakfast. I really liked the taps.
- Mark (8/5): - Nice room over a quiet pub. Good size. Bed was super comfortable, mattress, duvet and pillows all good. Bathroom was beautiful. Carpet a little stained. Walls also a little bashed from bags presumably. Tea/Coffee and cereal in room, and fresh milk available a nice touch. Room view was over the back of the building - not over the river as I hoped. In fact this pub is not on the river - a block away. Parking for free on the street - I found the last space on the street, at the other end to the pub. Local shops close by. 10 minutes walk across Hammersmith bridge to the the Underground.
- Noel (8/5): - Unique experience. The staff was helpful and friendly even though they were available on a limited basis. Rooms a bit dated but good bed and shower. Nice area close to train stations.
- Michael (8/5): - Great beer garden and lounge - freshly cooked food, very good room and extremely friendly and helpful staff.
