Guest Reviews
- NATHALIE (10/5): Parfait - Le cadre magnifique, propreté, gentillesse du personnel, nourriture le soir Le petit déjeuner trop simple
- Max Gimenez Ribeiro (2/5): nao gostei -

- LORENA (6/5): -
- Alejandro (8/5): Un lugar y vista hermosa, buena atención.
- Denise (4/5): It was very pleasant becaus of the staff. The receptionist and chef were super nice - The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was not very clean. The cushions and planket was smelly. They did not mop the floor nor cleaned the toilet during my stay. There were no cushions for the hard wooden chairs by the pool. Watch out with their taxi service. They charges double the amount on what a taxi service charges that I found online…
- Emilse (9/5): Very cute and nice view - The view and the staff. Very lovely and helpful The orange juice at breakfast was weird… not from real oranges. The balcony furniture could have some improvements as the view is perfect to enjoy being there but the seats are very uncomfortable.
- gonzalo r (10/5): - We recently had the pleasure of staying at Tupa Lodge, and we couldn't be happier with our experience.
The lodge itself was absolutely great – a beautiful and welcoming environment that truly enhanced our family vacation. The service was consistently on point, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay.
Thanks to the wonderful setting and excellent service, we had a truly great family time. We highly recommend Tupa Lodge for anyone looking for a fantastic getaway!
- Daniel (4/5): - Very attentive staff, place Okay if you don’t want to stay in town, but it’s not worth it, you won’t be able to walk around at night.
This property is far from town, nothing around, very dark roads and very big holes on roads, muddy you are going to regretted, so will your car .
Enfim, experiencia ruim, nao recomendo.
- Penko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (8/5): Beautiful view - Beautiful view, many breakfast options, nice staff member, large rooms, comfy beds The road to the hotel was in quite bad condition and we had no private car. Taxis were quite expensive (compared to Brazilian side). I would only recommend this place if you come by (rental) car.
- German Gustavo (10/5): - Beautiful place!! Perfect. Big rooms, great views, friendly staff good breakfast.
- Maria (7/5): ok place for the value - The places is very nice, with the garden well-taken care of; a pool by the river and an excellent view. The cabins are quiet, and with a lot of space and big beds as described. They have a balcony and chair to enjoy the view. The staff was super friendly and accomodating. The food was good. The location is not ideal unless you have a car, as it is in a secluded area. The infrastructure needs better maintenance, such as fresh paint and cleaned glass in the pool area. Additionally, cables on the grass must be avoided when going to the outdoor bathroom. The bathrooms were small and not well-cleaned. We had some beers and drinks by the pool, and the empty glasses were still there the next day.
They have a restaurant, but they don't have all the plates, and when we asked for more Yuca or black Pepsi, they did not have them in stock.
- Andrea (6/5): Pleasant - The pool and landscape Poor cleaning
- Rosario (8/5): Very good - Generally a good stay. The view of the river is spectacular, specially from the pool. Beds were comfy and the room nice, large and comfortable. Unfortunately, breakfast was a little disappointing, not too much variety and very tiny portions. Also, the access road is pretty bumpy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice location, well kept garden. Need to update beddings and towels as they are worn out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Paraíso - Expectativas superadas e com certeza voltarei novamente
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unterkunft OK, Service schlecht, kein Englisch - Zimmer waren ok, Klimaanlage funktionierte einwandfrei, Betten waren bequem.
- Edward (8/5): The property is beautiful. The rooms were great, good wifi, comfy beds. Pool was gorgeous. - Breakfast was ok. No real substantial food but for a free breakfast it was good. The staff were not exactly helpful. They were all very nice, but hard to find sometimes and didn't put in the extra effort that makes stays a 10.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - This is an amazing place to chill and regenerate for a couple of days. The rooms were nice in decor and with great view of the river and to the Paraguay side.
- Marc (7/5): Good - It's very peaceful and has a view of the river. The staff was friendly and always available. It's a bit out and not reachable anywhere on foot. Only private (expensive) taxis are available (Uber or similar apps are forbidden by the city). This makes going out not that easy. The resort has a very simple kitchen.
- Dean (8/5): Very good - Beautiful surroundings. Spacious room.
Friendly staff. £7 for a bottle of water
- Bianca (1/5): Looks nice, but prevent your stuff from the staff. NO RECOMMENDATION - The bungalows are nicely done with wooden carvings Somebody from the stuff has stolen my tablet, while we have been at the falls.
After contacting the hotel staff and the local police the hotel promised to refund the price via their insurance. Though nobody from the hotel answered my frequent askings for the refund.
Really nobody is able to speak English, hence communication is not really possible.
The hotel prices for food and drinks are extremely high and are in no relation to the salaries and prices in Argentina.
- Matthew (8/5): The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The outside area was quiet and peaceful. - The view and the tranquility of the location was perfect Although the location was quiet and peaceful it was tricky to get to by foot or public transport
- Szymon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (8/5): Very good - What could be better than sitting on your private deck overlooking the river to Paraguay sipping a nice local wine. For us the location was perfect, quiet after the chaos of the Falls. If you want to go out to dinner in town, then it's only a short and inexpensive taxi ride. Tea and coffee selection in room could have been better.
- Woody (10/5): Exceptional - Location on the river is beautiful. It is remote but that adds to the beauty. It is about 1/2 hour drive to the falls and 15 minute drive to town. Breakfast is very basic but good. The staff are very kind. Best to find restaurants in town due to remoteness of the lodge. Rooms are very large with great beds.
- Nicolas (5/5): Would not bother - View of the river is enjoyable Location: far off the beaten path, rely on taxis for transport in and out.
Food: expect to spend taxi money every day to go for dinner in the town (dining at the hotel is not an option I would even entertain)
Facilities/Service: as other reviews mention, the whole place has seen better days, staff is very helpful where they can be but a lot of things are out of their control.
We were put in a room which smelled like sewage - had to ask for a change of room after the first night. Breakfast is a joke I wouldn’t even bother trying to eat most of what they lay out. Overall cleanliness could be improved, its a shame the glass balustrade around the pool doesn’t get cleaned, as this blocks the view to the river which is the whole point. The neighbors have an impressive 500000watt sound system which keeps you up all night.
- Luca (3/5): Ultra remote. A lodge jail. - Personnel is nice and gentle, I feel sorry for them... There are no roads, taxis do not want to go there or if they do is expensive. Restaurant is expensive. There is no launch possibility even if the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Facilities are dirty. Shampoo is in mini bags on 1 dl you have to use 10 of them for a shower, ultra polluting all that plastic. Air conditioning for everything since is like a greenhouse.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The property Is gorgeous my adult kids loved the View of the river from our room. My kids loved this hotel more than any 5 star hotel they’ve been. They loved being in the jungle but getting there was very difficult closed dirt roads very far from airport.
- Marius (10/5): Comfortable, convenient with excellent staff - Staff being extremely helpful and friendly Public access road to the property was in poor conditiobn
- Bhagwant (8/5): Remote and gorgeous, but costly transport to city via taxi - The location was gorgeous, and the staff was super helpful. Breakfast was decent. Since the location is a little far from central city, the taxi cost did add up. Uber is not an option in the area. The lunch/dinner was not good. Expect a bug or 2 in the room since the surrounding area is the jungle.
- Frederik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (7/5): A wonderful place to stay as long as you don't mind relying on taxis - The views over the river were breathtaking and the sunsets were nothing short of spectacular. The staff were very friendly and proactive about considering our transportation needs. The dining options were rather limited, especially breakfast, and on reflection the location made it rather more expensive to get around than we'd anticipated.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Really friendly staff, the food was excellent ,especially dinner, nice wine also!
Super peaceful and a lovely view
- Alex Sandro (10/5): - ACOMODAÇÃO SENSACIONAL, PESSOAL ATENCIOSO, SOMENTE O ACESSO UM POUCO COMPLICADO
- Mariana (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (6/5): Great view but isolated and tough to get to. - The view, but a nightmare to get there as roads very poor so hard to get there. Amenities were average but beds were comfortable. It was so isolated so meals limited with little other choice to have anything else as no local shops etc.
- Mary (6/5): Not dreadful but below expectations. - Bed was very comfortable and the view was lovely The room and pool weren’t clean. Lots of bugs - dead and alive and a pill on the floor. The bathroom smelt bad. The food selection was poor and the temperature in the restaurant was too hot as the team didn’t turn the aircon on. There was no wifi other than in the reception area.
- Melanie (8/5): Very good - The location is fantastic and the rooms were beautiful The food isn't great for the money. Portions were small and expensive
- Carolina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marina (10/5): The hirrrl is not far from the Brazil-Argentina border and the National Park Iguazu. So you do not a lot of time to reac - The place is situated in the beautiful place where it is calm and you can enjoy nature. There are a river and lots greenery near the hotel so staying there you can appreciate all these benefits. The hotel is in the quite warm place so weather was enough warm during all our staying there. There is a swimming pool at the territory. And if you want to swim or just relax near the swimming pool you can do it easily. At the same time there is an opportunity to have a breakfast and dinner in the hotel so it is a good chance to use this opportunity. We stayed with our dog. And it is a some kind of problem. The first time during the cleaning we refused from this service because of our dog. But all other days we live without cleaning as nobody came to us. It is possible that a cleaning woman was afraid of the dog but at the same time we were not asked about this point.
- aaron (8/5): - we had a great time, I loved the river view from the balcony the stuff was very friendly.
a few things weren't working when we got there but they took care of it they even when beyond to provide a microwave we really needed at no cost.
the area around the hotel and the way to the hotel is very scary and ugly.
- Lawrence (7/5): Almost amazing. - Beautiful views of the river over to Paraguay. Bed was very comfy. It's almost amazing. We arrived late, around midnight, and the gates were locked. We eventually got our keys from a very nice security guard as the staff had gone home. But there was no staff members to meet us. Initially our room key didn't work, but we got there eventually.
Our room had been cleaned and it was hygenic, but there were stains on the walls. One of the large window panes which give the view to the river had been replaced by a big white board. Which restricted the view.
Breakfast isn't great; there are no warm options, not even toast. Service in the restaurant was very slow.
All this said, the location is stunning, and with a few tweaks it could be amazing.
- Sophia (7/5): Good - The location is very special. Outside of town but therefore in the middle of nature. We were there during winter and it was quite cold in the rooms.
- Augustine (7/5): Good - very quiet place in the corner of the area near by the river. The staff are very helpful and trying their best to provide and accommodate with the hotel's shortfall . Difficult location to access, you need to get driver to come in to pick you. No Uber will take the ride. So for sure Transport will be more expensive. Swimming pool is dirty.
- Angela (8/5): - Tupa Lodge is a beautiful facility! The staff is helpful and accommodating. The views are idyllic and the property is quiet and relaxing. It is important to know that it is out of the way from both the town center and the national park. You will pay more for transportation anywhere including simply going into town to use the park bus service, and group tours that normally include pickup will NOT pickup at Tupa. If you’re willing to pay a driver, the staff is happy to make arrangements and recommendations, and we were well cared for the duration of our stay. Have the empanadas for merienda! They are amazing!
- Corina (9/5): Relaxing stay with wonderful views and charming rooms - Wonderful view over the river, which is perfect for relaxing evenings at the pool after day excursions in Iguazu. Charming rooms with a nice terrace. Staff is very kind and chef is happy to adjust the menu to specific requests. As the lodge is very off the beaten track it is impossible to get around independently and one is very dependent on a private driver.
- Michael (8/5): Beautiful property in isolated location - This property is beautiful, right at the edge of the Parana River and the border with Paraguay. Our room was huge with beautiful wood panelling, white tiled floors, and a stunning floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the infinity pool and the river beyond. Plenty of space, with a true king bed ("king" beds are not always as advertised in South America, in our experience), two smaller ones. Nice, modern bathroom, although with some signs of wear. Getting to the property was a bit of an adventure, with dirt and rough roads the last mile or so. Food options are minimal, with only a basic continental breakfast. Takes about 20 minutes to get to the main drag in town, where dining options were surprisingly good. One quibble: a weird sewer smell in our room, which was temporarily masked with cleaning agents.
- Miki (7/5): Peacefull place in need of better cleaning and dishwashing - Peacefull location, friendly stuff, nice pool and view Dirty places, dirty dishes
- Shields (8/5): Very good -
- Gabriela (9/5): The staff was amazing!! They managed to accomplish beyond the expectations - The area where it is located, because has a beautiful view Needs just a little bit of maintenance
- Andrea (10/5): Great hotel if you’re looking for a secluded stay - The hotel is beautiful, the perfect oasis to get away and rest. The staff is great, really friendly and attentive, especially Micaela (she was very helpful!). The rooms are big, bed is comfortable, strong hot shower, all around great value for your money. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a secluded stay. The breakfast was not great and pretty limited- especially if you’re vegan or gluten free, not many options. The hotel is also pretty far from everything (which I thought is what I wanted) but after being there a few days, it made coming and going to town for meals a bit of a hassle. As lovely as the hotel was, I’d maybe consider staying closer to town next time so I could be closer to restaurants as the dinner at the hotel was okay, but not something I’d want to eat every night.
- Julius (9/5): Superb - Excellent location
- Luka (7/5): Good - breakfast was ok. nothing special. friendly cook made omlets. there was some smell in the room. maybe because of the humidity, it was not intense, but just was a little bit annoying...
- Ana (7/5): Pretty view, ugly experience - Stunning views, big rooms with air-con, cleaners everyday, extra linen and Barto the hotel dog We knew that the hotel was slightly isolated, but it is way too far from any amenities. The roads to arrive there were awful, and we didn’t feel comfortable walking around the local area.
Staff were really nice at first, but the service wasn’t good. They were always on their phone whilst some kind of service was needed;for example: while tables were dirty and not ready to sit, while breakfast buffet nearly empty(no coffee, water, cutlery, cheese etc…)
You need to spend 8000 each way for taxis, as they don’t provide any shuttle service to town. I would still not recommend having dinner at the hotel, food was horrendous and expensive.
Overall, really pretty view but not worth how isolated it was and the service it comes with.
- Andrea (8/5): - Good and friendly staff
- Maria (8/5): beautiful place! Had a really good time :) - location, size of room, and view shower didnt work first day. Meals are no bueno and expensive.
- Maya (8/5): Set in amazing grounds, require better transport set up. - Beautiful setting of the hotel. Spectacular view of the river, all green and lush. Nice pool area. Good food. Nobody at the premises spoke English. It takes forever to communicate via Google translate and misunderstandings are inevitable. Given that the main purpose of the stay is to see Iguazu Falls, it is strange that hotel relies on "random drivers" to be offered to guests at high prices. Ubers are not operating, so one is "imprisoned" and reliant on "google translate" to get any help with transport.
- Lana (10/5): Away from all troubles ;) - The place is stunning
However, be ready that taxi is quite expensive to the city
I liked it a lot
- Laura (10/5): Good but far - Every thing is good Location
- Sharon (5/5): Pretty location but far from town and the falls - Room was big and comfortable. Nice views across the river. Good empanadas. Restaurant staff were friendly. While the view was nice from the hotel, it did mean the hotel was quite far from everything. It was only accessible by taxi to both the falls and into town so having to get taxis everywhere added additional cost. The pool area did not look like the photos and was a bit tired and in need of repairs. The pool also did not look clean. Breakfast was ok.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location by the river overlooking the jungle. Not that easy to find but worth it once you get there. Lovely room too
- David (6/5): - De acordo com as fotos. Localização do hotel é desafiadora. Uma vez lá é inconveniente sair. Restaurante não condiz.
- Ellie (7/5): Good - Amazing Location as shown in the pictures
Very comfortable beds
Waking up in the jungle sounds and view really pays off BUT the hotel's infrastructure is really not take care of. Lots of handles, curtain racks etc are damaged. Cleanliness and linen is really poor, all glasses and pool are very dirty as well. Its a pity as it seems that the hotel was designed to maintain higher accomondation level..Breakfast is okay
- Karen (2/5): I will not recommend it - The location in front of the river with a nice view The AC was not enough for the size of the room
The waiting time for food in the restaurant was more than 1 hour even though there were not many guests
The food was not good at all
One day without wifi and electricity
- Mary (10/5): Unique - The location is spectacular. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the lodges are spacious and sympathetic to the environment. The pool is a big plus with a view over the river and into the jungle. I love the fact that this hotel is individual and dictated to by nature. The staff are charming and helpful. An inconsistency in internet/power and breakfast could upset some people. But the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.
- Ben (8/5): Wonderful location with comfortable beds and great scenery. - Beautiful location with amazing views! The breakfast was minimal.
- Maria (10/5): Fabulous - Everything, staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were fabulous and the pool was lovely. Cocktail drinks by the pool were excellent. Driver provided by the hotel was great, would definitely recommend! nothing
- Burbidge (7/5): Good - We enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was only okay and dinner food was terrible
- Alex.ranftl (8/5): Lots of potential, still need to change some details - We loved that it's located in the middle of the jungle with an amazing view to the river from the rooms and the pool. The garden is really nice and the room is big and has confy beds. Don't get us wrong, we really enjoyed the stay but there are things that didn't meet our expectations and/or the pictures of the hotel. Not good enough breakfast for the price. Coffee is terrible, low quality products. It's a pity that the swimming pool glasses are pretty dirty during the day and block the amazing view. Also the water was pretty dirty.
The AC filter is located just next to the balcony. So when you sit outside you hear it a lot. (also when turned off. You hear the one of your neighbours.
- Akshaya (8/5): Great room and facilities, average food, nice if you want stay away from the town - The pool is quite nice, the room is spacious and quite lovely. I like the balcony space as well. The hotel staff are nice and quite helpful. The location is not too convenient, it is far from town. The road leading to the hotel is also extremely bumpy. The hotel food is not the greatest so, plan to eat in town. Most of the items on their menu were unavailable.
- Valerijs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rahul (10/5): Superb. Worth a visit. - Quiet and peaceful and very pretty scenery. Was beautiful setting and staff tried so hard to make sure everything was good for us. They even had WiFi in the lodge which was great. Nothing. I found it to be excellent value for money.
I would go back.
- Valery (8/5): Nice place close to nature - Location, staff, rooms, views, overall feeling Breakfast, dirty pool glass
- Fernando (2/5): I would like to get a return at least of 1 room, As i said this was not a 4 stars rated hotel - This is not at all a 4 starts hotel.
Room temperature was 37 degress Celsius, air conditiones doent's until night, as employee explain the AC are too small for the rooms so it will cool the room after sunset.
This was very inconveniant, i was with 2 old people of 73 years old
Breackfast was also not good.
Price was 240 usd,
- Christina (8/5): Very good -
- Leonardo (8/5): Great option to visit Iguazu - Iguazu is an incredible town, and this hotel is a great option to take a rest and visit the most important places. The hotel has great views, and the staff is very kind. The room was awesome! Unfortunately, the swimming pool wasn't clean. The surroundings are not interesting. you always have to move in car.
- Iryna (7/5): Good -
- Abdelmalek (1/5): Bad -
- Line (10/5): Nature near resort - Tupa Lodge is such a great place to stay. Not the most luxurious, but the location, the staff and the environment makes it a unique hotel well worth staying at. Would definitely stay again!
