Guest Reviews
- Vinh (10/5): - Nice and clean hotel, 6 min walk to Terawamachi station, 10 min to Sensoji temple and Nackamise street.
- Jessica (10/5): - Comfortable stay and close
to everything!
- Leah (10/5): - Loved the area! Beds were stiff but can easily fall asleep on.
Staff was +++ great, especially for only knowing 2 Japanese words.
Wish I would have stayed longer to be in the area another day!
- Jordan (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked great and the rooms were clean. The location of the hotel was great too with it being around all the great spots in Asakusa. The only thing stopping me from 5 stars is the beds were like bricks with how hard they were. The pillows were just a bit better but still felt like my head was on a rock.
- Mary (10/5): - Staff was helpful and accommodating after the airline left my baggage in the US by accident. They were quick to let me know when my baggage was shipped to the hotel and they kept my bags safe until I picked them up. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms have a lot of really convient features. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. Would absolutely stay again!
- Fernanda (8/5): - Staff was very helpful, room was pretty clean but very very small. The bed was quite uncomfortable.
- alison (8/5): - overall the experience was great! the staff was super accommodating the only negative is the bed for me personally was very hard but I asked the staff if i could have a mattress topper and i got one that was brand new as well. the self service area for other amenities was very good too! the subway station is around a 8 minute walk away so it depends on how close you would like to be. also they were very helpful and shipped my luggage to my next destination.
- Josthine (10/5): - Great staff, great hotel and awesome location.
- Wai Man (10/5): - Shops nearby
friendly staff
- Alona Marie (10/5): - Great location and walkable to a lot of amenities and transportation.
- Saania (10/5): - Love my stay, will book again
- Deanna Fae (10/5): - Super close to lots of restaurants and cafes, very quiet at night to sleep, close to multiple stations and sensoji very convenient. Ice machine and cold water provided really appreciated in the heat
- Connor (8/5): - Rooms were clean and nice. Great location in Tokyo. Beds were a quite firm and could have used an additional pillow.
- Jacob (10/5): - Good location. Lots of food options. On site laundry. Fairly close to the train station. Would stay again.
- Amanda (10/5): - The hotel was very clean and quiet as well as close to everything you could need!
- Marla (10/5): - Wonderful small hotel in a great location! Everything was clean, bright, and great use of a small space. Recommend!
- Trevor (10/5): - Staff was amazing.
- Gary (10/5): A Excellent Choice - The hotel was great, and the neighborhood as well. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are very small as is the bathroom. But, like a cruisehip cabin, it is beautifully designed and comfortable. One thing I did not care for were the windows... (or window, as there is only one)... It was not see-through glass, so you could not look out of it.
But otherwise it was a great, comfortable place to stay. And it is a short walk from so many wonderful things. A great way to experience the real Tokyo.
- Michelle Hyunji (10/5): - Loved staying here! Areas are clean and quiet and very well connected to the subway systems. Coin laundry available on the first floor along with amenities for the room to take as needed. Staff was very nice
- Allyson (10/5): - This is still my favorite location and place to stay when visiting Tokyo. Will see you all again next year!
- Roy (10/5): - very nice, close to train station and shopping and restaurants
- Ryan (8/5): - Exceptionally helpful and accommodating staff. Overall very nice small rooms. It’s Tokyo so space is at a premium. Walkable to plenty of shopping, trains and food.
Coffee, tea and use of microwaves in the lobby.
The beds are hard - true. If softer beds then rating would be 5 stars.
- Jasmine Eve (8/5): - Stayed here for the majority of our trip and it was walkable to a lot of places. Super helpful staff that are at the front, always! Definitely was a bit of a squeeze because the room we had was a little small so you could only open one suitcase at a time in the little area we had. Also has laundry service you can use as well. Overall great place!
- Rico Chi Kit (10/5): - A nice hotel right by sensoji temple. about 10 mins walk from the ginza line. the room is a bit small as we couldnt open 2 luggages at once but is well kept and has nice interior. The bed was a bit hard but thats fine for me. The staff were helpful and helped me ship luggages. Overall a nice stay
- Nicole (10/5): - Great location
Friendly professional staff
Clean facilities
Free cold water and ice and tea in reception area
Plenty of complimentary toiletries
Laundry with washing machine and dryer in one machine
Very nicely designed rooms
All for a very good rate.
Highly recommend this Hotel
- Ronnie (10/5): - Great hotel in a great area!
- Ming Mei (8/5): - The hotel is well maintained and located in a quiet inner street. The bathroom is extremely small. A little far from major subway stations, about 7-8 min walk.
- Aaron (6/5): - The room was okay but the beds are on wheels which just seems like an unnecessary issue to have, however the area is very good and the room is good value for money
- John (8/5): - Rooms are small. Like the fact that the AC can stay on all day so when you get back to the room. The room is cool. Trust me, it makes a BIG difference after being out in mid 30s heat with 60% humidity !! Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend if you want somewhere clean to stay, convenient location with NO frills.
- Wesley (4/5): - Check out time at 10am is just too early. Property is clean. Mattress is very hard. Comforter is soft and comfy. Bathroom is cramping so small smaller than the usual Japanese small bathroom.
- Khadijah (10/5): - I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful whenever I had a query. The area that the hotel is in is very convenient it’s close to a lot of food places and is about a 5 minute walk from Asakusa Station. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely re book at this hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): great locataion, uncomfortable - great location, and nice that we could do connecting rooms. however, the beds were extremely hard (more so than other japanese hotels we stayed at) and with only one pillow per person, sleeping was difficult
- Saul (10/5): - Excellent location, wonderful staff, perfect for a multiple week vacation.
- Tyler (10/5): - Overall great experience
- Gayle (10/5): - Location is really good for exploring the area and close to the metro - room was very small but had all we needed and was clean and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Japanese charm&great location, tidy rooms with all you need
- James (4/5): - No share
- Lisa (8/5): - Very small, but comfortable, affordable and great location. If you travel light, it’s a solid option.
- PHILIP (8/5): Hidden Gem near Asakusa - Have stayed at Hotel Ann before, so I knew about the small rooms (which is fine for a solo traveller). Very comfy bed for those who like firm beds - I do. Free tea/coffee/water/ice at reception plus other emergency supplies if you need them. I really like this place, especially because of its location. Very close to Tsukuba Express Asakusa Stn and Tawaramachi Stn on the Subway. Located in a quiet and safe side street and also only 15 minutes’ flat and straight walk to the heart of Ueno.
- Joe (10/5): - It was very nice and quiet. Some light pollution through the blinds made it slightly difficult to tell what time it was. Not a huge deal but a little confusing if you are traveling over seas. A very nice place. I would highly recommend as the location is very convenient. Steps away from asakusa, but far enough away that it’s quiet!
- mymy (10/5): - Great hotel
- Ubol (10/5): - The hotel is clean, friendly staffs. I like that they cold water in the lobby ready for you after walking in hot summer. It is conveniently located to Sensoji temple , shopping streets, train stations. I would stay here again if I come back to Japan.
- Rosa (10/5): - Great hotel but vert small rooms. Otherwise awesome place
- Jenny (10/5): - A+
- Janice (8/5): - Bathroom is small tight space which using the sink was a challenge as in if you want to use it running it’s like full blast water or you will need to turn on and off continuously. As for the bed slightly hard yet sleep able. Staff was kind enough to help us call a taxi to get to the airport
- Sabrina (10/5): - Though the room is small, every section is utilized to maximize space and usability. We had total 4 luggages, 2 backpacks, and 2 duffles and made it work but it was definitely a struggle at times. Loved the amenity bar and the drink stations. I wish I could add extra points for the location because you’re super close to Senso-ji Temple and the surrounding shopping area (Uniqlo, Muji, Jins, 24hr DonQi, GU, Daiso). Also extra points for the staff who were super kind and helpful with our questions on how to get to Narita via train.
- German (4/5): - I think two things need to improved.
The mattress is absolutely awful and hard. We had a very difficult time getting comfortable sleep and this really brought down our opinion on what was otherwise a great hotel.
The bed frame itself does not take advantage of the small room. The bed frame should be replaced with one that has room for luggage underneath. With how small the room is this would greatly help.
- Susan (10/5): - Love the place, clean, closed to restaurants and shopping.
- Jonathan David (10/5): - Nice little spot in the heart of Asakusa. Less than a 5 minutes walk from the Senso-Ji temple and train stations. The staff were very nice and eager to help with any request.
- Cheryl (10/5): - I loved the location because it was close to everything. Also, I felt safe in the hotel annd around me.
- Anthony (8/5): - Very good location. Quick walk to the subway station so you can get to all the tourist areas fairly quick. We appreciate this the most. As other said, the rooms can be very tiny, but they’re very cosy if you like small rooms. I’ve been in Japan a few times and many of these chain hotels are like this so nothing on an extra extraordinary for Japan standards. It was very clean and we appreciate that the most. To get to the hotel, we took the Kensai express airport train to Ueno and then took a taxi from there to the hotel and the cost was $15 by Uber. Just save us from dragging our luggage on the train station or walking from Ueno station. If you’re young and don’t mind driving your luggage definitely you can just take the subway and walk 10 minutes. I think the only one complaint I have was I did find a bit a bit hard but my wife said it was fine for her so definitely it’s up to the individual. There was coffee and tea and a bunch amenities that you can pick up near the front desk. They also have a few laundry machines and surprisingly they weren’t that busy. There are just so many restaurants around so you won’t have trouble eating nearby. I will definitely consider staying here again.
- Stephen (10/5): - Perfectly located in an Asakusa neighborhood. Staff friendly. Bed comfortable. Would definitely come here again.
- Rachaya (10/5): - The hotel was beautiful and close to everything. Stayed here twice, lovely experience. Thank you.
- Amelia (8/5): - Nice lobby, amenities (great coffee), staff, kitchen and the rooms are nicely decorated. Well located for exploring the Asakusa area. Also appreciated that LUUP bikes and scooters are parked at the entrance.
My only complaint is that the beds are not comfortable — they’re rock hard with barely any cushioning. So if you need a soft bed, you may want to stay elsewhere.
- garson (8/5): - I’d stay here again. Really liked the location- easy access to transit shops and restaurants but tucked away in a quiet area. Only thing is that the room is extremely tiny!
- Richard (8/5): - The room was way smaller than I expected
- Jeanene (6/5): - A nice clean hotel, but VERY VERY small rooms. Barely had room to keep my luggage. Ok for a solo traveller as just a place to sleep (if you won’t be in your room all day), but if you’re more than one person I highly suggest looking elsewhere.
- German Alexander (10/5): - Great!
- Daniel (10/5): - Located in a convenient location in Asakusa. Walking distance to Senso-ji and in view of the Tokyo SKYTREE. Quiet rooms, good amenities.
- Daniel (10/5): - The hotel was a little hard to find at first but very conveniently located. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would without a doubt stay here again. I would definitely suggest hitting up Don Quixote for gifts which is only about a block away. Be sure to bring your passport so everything is tax free!
- Inez (10/5): - Excellent staff!! Super clean and very convenient! Nice amenities as well! Beds were and the super firm side, but other than that our stay was great!
- Megan (10/5): - Very clean. Staff very helpful. Excellent stay.
- Stephen (10/5): - Very clean, had a fancy bidet in the bathroom. Very close to lots of stuff in asakusa.
- Dina (6/5): - tiny rooms with no space for luggage. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Hotel in general was nice and in a good location but wouldn’t stay here again
- Robert (4/5): - Matelas tres tres dur et le WiFi ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre
- Maria (10/5): - Loved the space. The rooms are small but tons of amenities.
- Elle (8/5): - This was a really nice place to stay. The hotel is super close and walkable to all the asakusa area and is only a few minutes walk to Kappabashi street. The hotel had three washing/drying machines and the property was clean. It was typically a very very small room. I’m not sure two people with large suitcase would be able to fit in there. Also I was only provided with one pillow for my double bed, whereas I would have preferred two, which is the standard to provide when offering a double room.
- Jason (8/5): - Staff was friendly and accommodating with English. The bed was a bit too firm for my personal preference. The bidet was the star of the show. Amenities offered were amazing and the coffee and tea options were available all day. I woukd definitely stay here again
- Martin (10/5): - Nice staff, the hotel was close to restaurants and shopping.
- Emily (10/5): - Great location near the heart of Asakusa. Easy to walk neighborhood with many options for food and drinks. Friendly staff. Safe place to ship luggage to and have stored prior to your departure. Compact accommodation with a western style bathroom.
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Great location. Rooms are tiny but very clean. Hotel offers service to send luggage to next hotel. Nice and helpful staff. Overall, we loved it here.
- Joanna (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and free of dust.
Yes, it's true rooms are small, but most hotels in Japan are like this. Do yourself a favor and book connecting rooms if you desire more space. I booked connecting rooms at this property for a decent price.
Yes, beds are a little hard than what most foreigners are used to, but I like firmer beds. You'll do well at this hotel if you don't mind that. Or just for extra sheets/blankets to cushion it.
The hotel is near lots of restaurants and outdoor shopping center, and it's about a 7 minute walk to thw train station, so very convenient.
- David (10/5): - Second time staying here and I would absolutely return again. The staff is exceptionally kind, the rooms are cozy, and it is only a few minute walk from Nakamise shopping street.
- Ethan (10/5): - excellent hotel in the heart of asakusa near the ginza line subway station. Very easy to get around Tokyo and beyond!
- Aide (2/5): - Rooms smell like cigarettes so bad
- Wendy (10/5): Happy in Tokyo @ Hotel Ann Asakusa - Very helpful staff, clean as a whistle, zero view, generous with complimentary items, well located. Really pleasant stay. I am short in stature and I think very tall people might find everything a bit small/low
- Jasiel (8/5): - The place is great! We love that it’s only a walking distance to a lot of the attractions and you also get an amazing view of the tokyo skytree from afar as soon as you come out. The staff have been very kind and hospitable, they took care of us very well. The only thing is that the room is a bit small, our large luggages cannot be fully opened in the room we stayed at, but the room itself was pretty ok!
- Z1E1 (6/5): 450m to Tawaramachi station, Extremely hard bed - Location was about 100m tucked away from a big street with a Lawson on the corner, 450m to Tawaramachi Station and a bit farther to the Sensoji Temple area. It's a decent, walkable location but if convenience is your top priority there are better options in a similar price range.
The room was pretty stylish, in new condition, and clean overall but it got dusty so quickly due to the small size. We appreciated the various lighting options and dimmer function. The only truly negative aspect was the bed which was ROCK HARD.
Do note that the window is frosted and there's a building opposite so you'll hardly get any natural light. Suitable for those wanting a cozy, snuggly vibe but if you easily feel suffocated this may not be the choice for you.
We had a quiet stay but there were sometimes loud bumping against the wall from the adjacent room and we could hear whenever they plugged something into the socket.
Staff were professional and there were 3 coin-operated washers available as well as hot water, tea, and microwave for guests.
- mikebP7980OK (8/5): Great Location - Clean and Modern - Close to Transit and Dining - We spent three days at the beginning and another three days at the end of our recent 2 week trip to Japan. The location is an easy 5 min walk from the Tawaramachi Station on the Ginza Line. It is a 2 block walk to all of the many shops and restaurants in Asakusa. The Senso-ji temple is two more blocks. The hotel is on a quiet street with a very clean/modern lobby. The rooms are a bit small, but normal for Japanese hotel. If you are planning to spend a lot of time in your room, then this may not be for you, but we just needed a place to crash after being on the go all day. The beds are hard, but not out of the ordinary for small Japanese hotels. IT did not bother me at all. My wife just slept on top on the existing comforter and we asked for a second one to use on top. If a hard mattress is a deal breaker for you, then this may not be the choice, but many of the smaller business style hotels have the same. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly and spoke English. Check-out was automated at a machine in the lobby.
- Prashaanth (8/5): - Tight room, not much amenities compared to other hotels.
- Pen (10/5): - Very friendly, brilliant staff who can speak English too! Best 3 star hotel I've ever been in.
- Neve (6/5): - Great, clean property but very small with terrible service and WiFi in the rooms itself
- Mike (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and great location - The rooms are on the small side compared to US hotels, but normal for a Japanese business hotel. We were only in our rooms for sleeping so this was not an issue. It is in a good location close to the Sensoji temple and the restuarants in Asalusa. The Ginza subway line in a short walk away, which made it convenient for seeing the rest of Tokyo and the surrounding area. Staff was very helpful and the rooms, hal;ways, and lobby were clean and well-maintained.
- Roberta Men Wat (10/5): - Place was super clean and the staff were amazing. Is very close to donquijote, kura sushi, station, and shopping and sensoji
- Dawei (8/5): - Good location, reasonable price.
- Dahianna (10/5): - Conveniently located to several stations 7-10mins walking distance. The premises are beautiful and clean. The staff is very nice!
- Mutya (8/5): - The hotel is in Asakusa which is a great location to stay. Though far from Shibuya, it provides great shopping options, dining options, attractions and very convenient for getting around. We love that its not as crazy as Shibuya but still has everything you need. The hotel rooms are on smaller side compared to other hotels we stayed in but its very clean, beds are comfy. Decently prized as well. We got connecting rooms so that's a good bonus.
- Toan (10/5): Cute Hotel - Great Hotel if you are visiting Tokyo. Short walk to Senso jii Temple, night life and food. it locates in a quiet and clean neighborhood. it has washing and dryer machine down in the lobby and they even offer us free umbrella to use during our stay because of the rain. Definitely enjoyed our stay here.
- Margaret (10/5): - Very clean room and lobby. Staff is helpful. Location to shops and restaurants are convenience.
Expect a very small room but everything else is great, so the room size is acceptable.
Thank! We enjoy the stay very much.
- Stephanie (10/5): Good hotel - Great stay. Clean and comfortable. Good location.
- Barbara (10/5): - Great place for our last night. Lobby had a very nice selection of amenities
- Ryan (10/5): - Great location and a gem of a hotel! Helpful staff, everything was clean and they were great about holding our luggage after check-out. The only drawback is that the washroom was very tiny, even compared to other Japanese hotels. But even that was a minor thing and did not take away from a wonderful experience
- Alfhred (10/5): - Would given all 5 stars..only issue was room space.other than that, it was pefrect.
- Janelle (10/5): - Safe and quiet!
- Mark (10/5): - Stayed in an interconnecting room booked on Expedia. Perfect for families. 4 beds, 2 bathrooms. Good location. Easy flat walk to metro and Asakusa. Very quiet. Stored our luggage on arrival and departure day. Friendly and helpful English speaking staff. Highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.
- Waifan (8/5): - A good 10-15min walk from station. On the quiet side of town. Amenities needs to be picked up by yourself on the first floor... unfortunately. Place is clean. Overall good, not great.Location is clos to attractions
- Alejandra (10/5): - Staff was good and helpful
- Joshua (10/5): - We loved our stay at Ann hotel! The staff was very friendly, the room and lobby were very clean, it was quiet at night, and it was very walkable to attractions and public transport. There were great amenities in the lobby and room as well. Also, the beds were not as hard as some people said. Harder than typical American plushy beds, sure, but not super hard.
There were only two “downsides” I would say. If you’re used to regular American-size hotel rooms, be prepared for a very small room. Also, the WiFi was ok at best, often cutting out. But since we spend most of our time in the city, it wasn’t too big of a deal.
- Ethan (6/5): - Stiff beds
- adrian (10/5): - Will return any time
