Debra (3/5): They should NEVER take a reservation for a room that had not been renovated! - Perfect location for someone wanting to see a Broadway play. The hotel lobby was pretty. The air conditioning in the first room we were given didn't work. The second room had a long mat over the tub floor with mold spots on it and when we lifted the mat, we found heavy mold underneath. The a/c in the third room worked but the wall control was missing so we couldn't adjust the temperature. All three rooms looked like they had never been renovated. The shower handle, for example, went out of style in the 80's. Everything was dingy and poorly maintained. There were no USB ports for charging phones. The water in the bathroom sink dripped constantly and it took a lot of strength on both the hot and cold handles (that also went out of style in the 80's) to get it to stop. The room door stuck every time we used it, so we had to put a lot of pressure on it to get it open. The pictures on the hotel website show beautiful rooms, even the "standard" rooms but none of rooms we were given had been renovated. We were offered a measly 50% off our first night. For all the time I had to wait in line, twice, to get a halfway decent room, one would think they would comp it.

Michael (5/5): A generally enjoyable stay in a fantastic location, though the initial check-in experience could hav - The beds were very comfortable, and the location is fantastic—particularly for proximity to Times Square and easy access to subways. The grab-and-go breakfast was also a great option for early mornings and set us up well for the day. In addition, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. Overall, our stay was reasonably positive, but it was unfortunately impacted by our initial check-in experience, which influenced our overall rating. After a long flight and transfer from the airport, we arrived looking forward to starting what was a bucket-list trip. However, upon check-in we were advised that the room we had booked and paid for was not available for the first night, and we would be placed in a different room. While the team confirmed that our original room would be available the following day, this required us to check out by 12pm and wait until 4pm to access the new room. Although we understand that operational issues can occur, this process was quite inconvenient and disrupted our plans at the start of the trip. Having to relocate rooms and adjust our schedule on short notice took away from what should have been a seamless arrival experience. A smoother solution or some flexibility around the transition would have made a big difference. Aside from this, the stay itself was generally enjoyable. One additional point to note is that each morning, upon leaving the hotel, we were approached quite directly by sales representatives for the Big Bus tour company just outside the entrance. While we recognise this is outside of the hotel’s control, it could be helpful for guests to be made aware of this, particularly after a long journey when first impressions matter. With a more seamless arrival experience, this would have been a much stronger overall stay.

Justin (3/5): Location is good but I would never return and would NEVER recommend anyone spend their money on this hotel. I’m extremel - The location was nice. That’s about all I liked… The A/C was broken; the wouldn’t go below 70 degrees. Even though the temperature outside was 90+ degrees. The walls are paper thin; we could hear the entire conversation of our neighbors. And they were extremely loud between the hours of 12am-3am and then again 5am-8am. We found dried blood on the bathroom sink. And the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and falling down.

Since they had no premium rooms left to upgrade to we asked for a different room at least with a view. They moved us to room 1428. Better but still not great, bathroom tiles moldy, leaking sink. All Vents were extremely dusty. Better view at least.

Nicole (4/5): Great staff but terrible room quality - Staff was friendly and accommodating. They even helped us when there was a mix up with the booking. Room condition was subpar. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. The shower base was cracked, which pooled water. The electrical outlet was coming out of the wall. Also, there was no breakfast included despite being tagged as such, and the rooms were not soundproof.

The hotel is a bit old and in need of a renovation. The bathroom the shower is in the bath and is really old and not that functional. The Breakfast was substandard. The aircon was not working in the hotel and the heat was unbearable.

Conecta con varias lineas de metro que te llevan sin transbordo a cualquier parte de Manhattan. La habitación era grande pero algo antigua y algunas partes de la pared peladas. El baño con bañera y más pequeño. Buena presión de agua eso sí. Estuvo bien el desayuno incluido, te dan un bagel/dulce, cafe/te/zumo y 1 pieza de fruta para llevar Hablamos con varios trabajadores. Uno de recepción muy seco y borde, otros 2 bien. Uno del desayuno ídem, ni te mira ni te habla, las chicas muy majas. Y todas las chicas de limpieza agradables. Por último, el día de irnos, dejamos un rato las maletas, servicio incluido en el hotel, y un trabajador nos pidió propina, creo que en un hotel de 4* no es de recibo que por un servicio incluido nadie te pida una propina, la cadena de hoteles debería controlar estos feos gestos del personal.

Gary (7/5): Was a great stay but could have been better - The location was incredible... few hundred yards from Tines Square, stones throw from Central Park, The Rock, Radio City, Chrysler building all within touching distance and a good subway network access nearby too The hotel is undergoing a major renovation. I enquired about this after seeing the reviews and the response I got was quick and positive, they stated that they would give us a renovated room, which they did, however they charged us a premium for it, maybe a misunderstanding but still dissapointing. The room itself was lovely, however when you looked closely it wasnt great. Paintwork was shabby, plug sockets hadn't been fitted properly, the taps in the bathroom were loose and difficult to use. The shower was slanted, left a puddle of water that wouldnt drain and the shiwer door kept sliding open.

Hot water handle on sink kept falling off. No stopper on sink, loose spout. Slow drain in shower. Construction noise early in the morning. Alerted front desk 3 times. And then they cleared the drain.

Visible mold and dirt, dead insects, peeling paint and wall paper, and the carpet was damp giving the room a smell of mildew and wet dog. To top it off, i ended up with a skin infection 3 days after i stayed here that required medical treatment. And not a simple rash - it is a staph infection. The staff was unhelpful, the property is in shambles. The only warning on the website when you book is that it's going to be the new Crowne Plaza NYC. Nothing about completely awful rooms in the meantime.

We initially had an issue with our room, but RacQuel immediately stepped in and went above and beyond to make things right. What meant even more to us was that we were in town celebrating our daughter’s graduation, and RacQuel truly cared about making sure our trip stayed special despite the hiccup. She handled everything with professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern, and worked quickly to resolve the situation and ensure we were taken care of. In a busy place like Times Square, it would be easy for a situation like that to be brushed off, but RacQuel made us feel heard and valued. Her customer service was phenomenal and she turned what could have been a frustrating moment into a great experience for our family. RacQuel is a tremendous asset to the hotel, and we are very grateful for the way she helped make our daughter’s graduation trip memorable.

TheLuggX (10/5): Another Hidden Gem - This place is a hidden gem. It's perfectly located near everything in Times Square. From plays, restaurants, shopping, gifts, you name it and it's right at your fingertips. However, be forewarned that they're doing a lot of remodeling, so there are sounds of construction on certain floors. If you can book anything higher than the 19th floor, then you're winning. The true magic of this hotel are the members of staff. Shoutout to Maxine & Mohammed for helping me to move to another room when I starting hearing the construction, Alex for helping me and family with our luggage, microwave requests, etc. and most importantly, Rachel for helping us with recommendations on events, restaurants, and show tickets. She knew where to eat, what to order, what to do around town and picked winners every time. Amazing energy from everyone. I will be back Manhattan at Times Square because you are DEFINITELY LUGG APPROVED.

1lin (6/5): Great location for a great holiday - The location of the hotel is fantastic 10 mins to the left is Central Park straight road and same to times square if you turn right, lobby on arrival is lovely clean and bright, I was on the 10th floor which has not been refurbished the room is big and the shower was great beds were very comfortable, I had an issue on day 2 I noticed the bed my granddaughter was in had dirty sheets it clearly was not her!! So she had slept in a dirty bed for two nights I was not happy but I was nice at reception and explained the situation they said they would change them but I was angry as it was a don’t care attitude with no apology whatsoever!! I found the reception not friendly at all apart from the boy that checked me out today he was friendly enough, would I use the hotel again? No I wouldn’t

Bartłomiej Ruta (8/5): Fantastycznie połozony hotel, w 100% spełniający swoją role przy niskiej cenie! - Nie rozumiem narzekań ludzi, że obiekt jest stary i pokoje też. Owszem, to nie jest nowy obiekt, ale pokoje spełniają swoją rolę, łóżka są w miare wygodne, telewizor w pokoju duży. Pokoje są sprzątane codziennie i nie ma z tym żadnego problemu. A stare graty dodają klimatu NYC! Windy szybkie i dostępne 4. Obsługa zawsze uśmiechnięta i miła. Śniadania nie za bogate, ale dobre. Pora umyć okna zewnętrzne. Hotel jest połozony w centrum i widoki z pokoju są fajne, ale niestety okna były bardzo brudne. Drugim minusem trwający remont - w dwa dni nie było dostępnej wody a więc skorzystanie z toalety, czy późna poranna kąpiel były niemożliwe. Oczywiście dostsowaliśmy się, mieliśmy 7 dni, a problemy były tylko przez dwa.

Non meriterebbe più di due stelle, per lo meno il piano in cui alloggiavamo noi. Paragonabile a un Ostello l'unica cosa gradevole era la Hall. Noi alloggiavamo al 7 piano, la moquette sporchissima, bagni ridicoli con vasca in plastica di pessima qualità, serramenti fatiscenti, non parliamo del materasso, non abbiamo neppure tirato fuori i gli abiti dalla valigia!

When we arrive, there was some dirty hair in the bathroom and vapes on the floor under the tables. We we’re disappointed for the price we paid. The wall were super thin and we’ve got woken up early because people we’re closing their door loudly. We were hearing the elevator even if we were in our room. At our check-out, we asked a question to a person in the lobby and she looked at us with a judgmental face and didn’t even try to answer our question. To be completely honest, we are disappointed from our choice and we won’t come back.

Some family members stayed in the un-renovated floors and they were terribly run down, and old. We stayed in the newly renovated room, but the AC wasn’t working, and the hot water took 5-7 minutes just to get hot, the walls are paper thin, we could hear every cough, conversation, person walking by.

B9210GSlouisen (6/5): Fantastisk personale - We stayed at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel for 13 nights as a family of four. When we arrived, we were honestly a bit surprised by the condition of the room. There were only two duvets for four people, so the other two had to use blankets. Several power outlets were loose in the walls, and the hotel phone didn’t work, which meant we had to take the elevator down every time we needed assistance. The carpets felt quite worn, the windows were very dirty and could only open about 10 cm on one side, and the toilet clogged several times during our stay. Breakfast was included, but it was more of a “grab and go” setup. You would queue up and receive either coffee or juice along with a simple breakfast – not particularly impressive. That said, the hotel is currently undergoing a much-needed renovation, and unfortunately our room had not yet been updated. What truly made the difference for us, however, was the staff. Everything the room lacked, the people made up for. The service team was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Housekeeping was especially sweet, patient, and thorough, and the maintenance staff was very responsive and friendly. Every interaction made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The location is absolutely perfect, which is a huge plus when staying in New York. All in all, despite the issues with the room, we’ve had a good stay and felt genuinely welcomed. We’re still here until Friday and are enjoying our time in the city

The room was very cold but after letting them know they did change our room . The key phobs did not work everytime we tried to get into the room we had to go to reception .
