- PeterSamAdventures (10/5): We will return to Taipei just for this hotel - We had an exceptional stay at the Kimpton Da’an in Taipei. It was one of those rare hotel experiences that stays with you long after you leave. Here are 5 things we loved about the hotel: 1. The staff: We loved the incredible warmth and genuine connection from the staff most of all. From the moment we arrived, Andrea at the front desk welcomed us like old friends. She gave us a thoughtful orientation to both the hotel and the vibrant neighborhood. This included a spot-on recommendation for a delicious Taiwanese breakfast place next to Mo’s Burgers nearby. Thanks for the Da'an llama plushie :) Other staff who we interacted with included the ever-smiling Marie, and the incredible Rohit who made our mornings brighter with his hospitality and service (so extra), even making us coffee before we knew that we needed it. Leo at the front desk was also fantastic, offering great dumpling recommendations that we are still thinking about. 2. The style: Loved the rooms (loved the balcony) and the beautiful stylish design with nods (like the tiles in the room) to old Taiwan. The koi pond in the lobby patio was gorgeous. 3. The treats: The complementary treats in the lobby were so unexpected and appreciated from the breakfast offerings (pineapple buns, mini muffins, croissants, bread rolls) during the “Kimpton Kick Start” to the 24/7 sparkling water (with flavored syrup accompaniments), coffee and tea to the “Kimpton Social” with wine at 530pm. 4. The gym: Surprisingly we made good use of the functional gym while we were there and this made the jet lag feel a lot better. The Calpico drink was a nice extra that was stocked in the mini fridge there. 5. The location: We walked everywhere because it was such a great location – to Da’an forest park (go at sunset to see the birds roost), to so many food stalls, to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, to Taipei 101, and to many more places. We will absolutely be back to Taipei. Honestly, it’s just as much for the people at this hotel as it is for the city itself. Highly, highly recommended.

- Alexandra (9/5): - We stayed at this hotel for our entire trip in Taiwan, 6 nights. I loved its location, a nice neighborhood that was quiet for being near a busy road. I loved that the main train station was so close (a block or so) to the hotel. There's a convenience store and a really good brewery next door if you want something convenient. I think my favorite part was how close so many goood food places there were. The vibes of the hotel are modern and contemporary and the staff are so kind. I'd say my least favorite part was the layout of our room. While we loved how spacious the whole room was, the bathroom is also your entry point. After walking around town, I don't love the thought of leaving my shoes in the same place my bathroom is, but I'm a little bit of a germaphobe.

Initially, I was concerned about a possible language barrier, but I quickly realized my worries were unfounded—the team is impressively fluent in English and incredibly welcoming. Despite arriving late in the evening after a long flight, I was greeted with genuine warmth and attentiveness. Eric and Peggy went above and beyond, personalizing my check-in and even offering me a refreshing drink to help me unwind. Their thoughtful gestures and professionalism turned what could have been a tiring arrival into a truly delightful experience.

- Road16981044937 (10/5): The Very Best Stay in Taipei!! - If you are ever visiting Taipei, be sure to stay at the Kimpton Da An. It is in a great urban location for walking to restaurants and shopping. The truly outstanding concierge staff (all English speakers) will take great care to arrange transportation to any other sights you would like to visit. We've stayed at many Kimpton's but this is the best ever.
- MUCDXBAUS (10/5): All in a perfect stay! - Very beautiful and modern hotel, rooms are very well curated. The Kimpton Social Hour is a perfect way to also get to know other guests. The staff was very attending, especially Rohit Luo who went the extra mile to get everything done. Btw: the hotel has bicycles to rent free or charge which is a great way to explore the city.
- Lillian (10/5): Excellent service in a nostalgic Taiwan hotel - This hotel was the perfect location for our needs during our time in Taiwan. The staff and service of the hotel was truly remarkable - from the minute you walk in and the minute you walk out. We were greeted by the staff every day in multiple occasions and always welcomed us back in the evening at the door. They helped with laundry service (sent out) and helped us book a taxi to the airport. These are the little things that made our trip so much more smooth. The dining room upstairs provided a sanctuary to start your day. We got the breakfast which was always plenty of food and delicious. The rooms itself had everything we needed. I can't think of what I did not enjoy about the hotel. If i had to choose, it would be that the value of the added breakfast option was not worth the price tag. We did not eat breakfast every morning so I would've preferred NOT to include it in my booking and pay per diem (as used).
- Jocham (9/5): This hotel location is excellent. The staff was incredible, they should be commended for superior Customer Service. The - Room size, AC was excellent. Super clean room. The overall bathroom did not have a door so it was hard for someone to get ready if someone was still sleeping. The sliding door between the shower and the toilet was very bizarre. If someone was taking a shower, you couldn’t close the door for the toilet. And if someone was using the toilet, the shower door couldn’t be closed. Very odd design.

They answer questions quickly and show the professionalism wanted in a hotel. The room was big for most Asian hotels. Plenty of room to open suitcases and spread out. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall a great stay and looking forward to the next time.

- mgk135 (10/5): Great short stay at the Kimpton Da An. - Central location, easy to go to Ximeng and Taipei 101 areas. 7 year old hotel, looked new and very clean. Very friendly staff. I am a diamond IHG member. Staff was able to accommodate my early check-in request. Room was upgraded to one with a balcony view of Taipei 101. Great complimentary breakfast on the 12th floor restaurant Tavernist, with both Chinese and Western options that can be ordered. Lobby had light snacks available through the day, plus beer and wine with light snacks in the evening. Staff gave me complimentary drink coupons to use at the Tavernist. Did not use the mini bar in the room. As others have remarked, you walk into the room through the toilet and the bath both having one shared door, so if privacy is a concern this could be an issue. MRT blue like train station about 200m away that can take you to the Taipei Main station in case you want to go to the airport or other areas of Taiwan. All in all great stay and will use this hotel on future trips.

Only 1-2 mins walk to reach MRT blue line Zhongxiao Fuxing station. You're also surrounded by many department stores, nice restaurants and street with lots of street food, and of course bubble tea! [Guest Room] The guest room is well maintained and in style. House keeping always do a good job in keeping the cleanliness at high level. They anticipate your need and prepare everything for your stay. Some may subject to request but basic needs are all in place. [Hotel Staffs] Despite the facilities, hotel staffs are always another key factor where you can feel like at home and they're just your friends casually talk about everything. Staffs from Kimpton Da-An are so amazing, kind and passionate. Because they "care" :) [Breakfast] One thing I love about Kimpton Da-An is their breakfast at the Tavernist. Though it's not the typical buffet set up but they provide Western & Taiwan (Asia) style and options are soooo many that you will never get bored with it. I have been staying with Kimpton Da-An for times but this is my first review here which contains all my past stays and experiences. I could say until now they're still offering high lever service quality which I'd love to visit again and again.

The hotel is located in what looked like the central business district, and was walkable to a lot of good locations. The rooms were were also extremelt spacious and comfortable, and it is extremely worth the cost! everything was perfect.

Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay comfortable. One of the most touching details was during breakfast service—the staff remembered our preferred coffee drinks each morning, which made us feel incredibly welcomed. They also went above and beyond in accommodating our mother’s needs, thoughtfully preparing certain food items in smaller, easier-to-manage pieces due to her chewing challenges. That level of care meant so much to us. Another standout was the constant hospitality at the front entrance. There was always someone there to open the door and greet us with a smile, whether we were heading out for the day or returning after a long excursion. It really added to the feeling of being taken care of throughout our stay. The front desk team was also incredibly helpful, assisting us with calling and arranging appointments for local services. They were also very flexible and accommodating with both early check-in and late check-out, which we greatly appreciated. The location is situated conveniently near both the brown and blue MRT lines, making it easy to get around the city. On top of that, there are plenty of shops and great restaurants within walking distance, so everything you need is right at your doorstep. Overall, this was an amazing stay. The combination of outstanding service, thoughtful attention to detail, and unbeatable location made it truly memorable. Additionally, the hotel offered amenities such as free pastries, snacks and drinks during the morning and afternoon social hours. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Taipei.

Comfortable Stylish Rooms, Amazing Staff, Great Local Neighborhood - I had such an excellent week-long stay at the Kimpton Da An on my recent trip to Taipei, that I booked a second stay at the end of my trip for an overnight in Taipei at the end of my trip! This hotel has a boutique, personalized feel to it - from the chic rooms, to the excellent staff, to the central, local neighborhood location. It was low key luxury in the middle of the busy city, and I would recommend it to anyone. First, the room - I stayed in a King Premium Room, on a corner, and it was meticulously designed to make my stay relaxing. The bed and pillows were perfect. Convenient outlets next to the bed. The decor was modern and design-forward, with a unique tiled entryway and bathroom, and a great layout for maximum usefulness. I would recommend requesting a higher floor, to get a cooler view of the rooftops in the neighborhood, which feels very "Taipei". The only things I would nitpick were that the toiletries in room weren't the best and didn't match the vibe of the hotel - the smell of the hand soap and body wash were a really strong fake citrus smell - I wish this hotel had a brand like Grown Alchemist, Aesop or a local Taiwanese brand in the rooms. Also, the sitting area in the Premium Room is such an excellent touch, and really makes a difference in your stay - but I wished that the custom sofas were just a bit wider to make them more useful for actually lounging and relaxing on. The hotel staff were EXCELLENT! Everyone we interacted with seemed genuinely happy to have us staying at the hotel, never hesitated to help us with anything, and also went above and beyond to help us out - for example, when we were having trouble purchasing train tickets, the concierge (Liang) helped us by accompanying us to the nearby convenience store to purchase train tickets; and when another concierge (Charlie) helped us organize an afternoon reservation at a hot spring resort in nearby Beitou, and also gave us some great, personal recommendations for restaurants and sights in Tainan after we departed the hotel. Liang and Charlie - you made our stay so much better! The restaurant / bar and the staff there were also superb! We ate breakfast every day in the hotel's restaurant, a la carte as we didn't have it included in our room rate - it was affordable, varied and delicious - both the Taiwanese breakfast options and the Western options were delicious. And the crew working, including the team's manager, Mandarin, made us feel at home. I also remember one of our regular servers, Lyn, who was excellent! They greeted us every day, remembered our coffee order, remembered what we'd talked to them about, and the manager, Mandarin, took extra time to talk to us and give us her own personal recommendations for our trip to Tainan after Taipei! We also had cocktails at the bar in the evening - delicious. And last, the general vibe of the hotel property was great for a first time visit to Taipei. Taipei is wonderfully busy and hectic, and the Kimpton felt like a nice oasis at the end of the day - the hotel has a daily happy hour with free wine and beer and snacks, which we loved for a little hang out in the lobby or outdoor seating area that has a... waterfall and koi pond and beautiful landscaping (wow). There's also a great roof deck attached to the restaurant. And the location is wonderful - when first booking our trip, we didn't know much about Taipei's geography, but we are so glad we stayed in the Da An neighborhood - it is central, has a great local vibe, with a ton to do near the hotel from restaurants to shopping to parks to local Taipei life. The hotel is only a block from the metro station. It's on a side street. It was really amazing, and we're so glad we didn't stay in a more business-y area like Xinyi, where a lot of other international hotel brands are located. The one thing I do wish that the hotel had readily available was some kind of shower / spa for guest use; when arriving in Taipei from an international flight you often arrive early and before the room is ready, or guests are often leaving on a late departing flight and have to check out far before they have to leave for the airport - it would be great to offer a way for guests to freshen up after arriving but before check in, or after check out but before departure. All in all - this is a total winner of a hotel, perhaps one of the top three hotels I've stayed in, perfect for a home base while touring Taipei, highly recommended!

The meeting/relax area by the reception was very good, with free coffee and snack in the mornings, and free glass of wine in the early evening. Great way to meet travelers. The location of hotel was also very good as we walked, took the metro or buses, to all over Taipei.

- 650MEP (10/5): Great hotel in Taipei - We stayed at the Kimpton Da An in Taipei for several days as we toured Taipei. The Kimpton is in the Da An section, with a couple of subway stops close by, so you can get around town easily. Before arriving, I'd asked for help arranging a couple of cars to move our group from the airport into town, and that all worked perfectly. The staff was universally pleasant and helpful. The rooms were nicely sized, with a table and two chairs, lots of open hanging space (so you don't forget something in a closet) with almost enough hangers. The rooms each had a small plate of fresh fruit to welcome each of us when we arrived (which is a real treat after a long flight.) The bathrooms easily accommodated two and the shower was wonderful. There's a little restaurant on the 12th floor where you can grab breakfast, with quite good cafe lattes. We'll definitely stay there again.

There is a family mart just right beside the hotel. The mini snacks in the morning, afternoon and evening at the lobby serves as a great kick start and end to a day! Keep the snacks station idea going. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Little details like replenishing the room with bottled waters everytime after I requested for it once demonstrated their attention to service. The design of the bathroom is odd, as the curtain the shower and the toilet is shared. Please improve this design and it would be perfect! The bed is slightly on the softer side, can be firmer! The corridor feels more like a 4 stars for 5 stars prices given its boutique vibe. Hence, not exactly value for money hotel option.

- 67nigelw (6/5): Honest opinion - An honest review of Kimpton Da An. Reading lots of previous reviews there are common themes, but the hotel does not appear to have acted on many of the criticisms. The hotel responses are either AI generated, or whoever is responding sounds very robotic rather than genuine. Many negative reviews refer to the design of the hotel and the responses from the hotel are very much ‘that’s the way it is, sorry you didn’t like it’. The responses just repeat the good points made and apologise for the bad points - very AI sounding. The good points are the staff who are fantastic. Everyone very helpful. In fact somewhat OTT at times - do we really need up to 3 people on the front door saying have a great day and then welcoming you back - after. a 5 min trip to the shop outside? The room was spotlessly clean. There are quite a few negatives for any regular IHG premium members. This is not a 5 star hotel and should never be in the same ’luxury range’ as Intercontinental or Regent. The lobby is very small. They have a bizarre concept of using this as a ‘living room’ like a house. It just does not work. There is a fantasy expectation that all of the residents will meet and mingle like housemates. In reality it is small and cramped. There should be a proper premium lounge like other proper 5 star IHG brands. Please note the room design which is bizarre to say the least. The hotel makes a point of being ‘pet friendly’. Make no mistake, it’s a pet hotel. On entering the room you walk straight into a tiled bathroom/shower area. Yes, not just walking past but right into the bathroom, shower area. Most bizarre. It looks like this is for the benefit of dirty pets. There is no other sensible reason. Even more bizarre, someone somewhere thought it was a great idea to make the toilet and shower doors see through directly from the main room. Some rooms even have a single sliding door which can be used EITHER by the shower or toilet but not both. We had to have a privacy screen installed to get round this design fault. Thanks to the hotel for doing this but should be unnecessary to correct design faults. In previous reviews the hotel response has been to say this is Taiwanese style -come on, get real, just make toilets and showers private! The bedroom floors are covered with bizarre hard rubbery matting which is uncomfortable to the bare feet and again no doubt for the benefit of pets, not to mention cleaning up after them. We were supposedly in a pet free room but still had these weird features. The elevators are very very very dark, for no obvious reason except some form of artistic attempt. Breakfast is limited to a fixed menu which feels restrictive and nothing like other 5 star IHG hotels. We came up the elevator with a yapping dog in a pushchair. Is that how you want to have a nice quiet breakfast? Expect to see pets! This could be such a good place but the ‘homely’ and ‘pet friendly’ concept is weird to the point of being slightly creepy. The concept does not work and this should not be in the same 5 Star league as other IHG hotels. We will not come again. If you like the Intercontinental and Regent 5 star IHG hotels the you will be disappointed here. We have since moved to Intercontinental Kaohsiung which is fantastic and worlds apart from the Kimpton Da An. We had no preconceived ideas about Kimpton Da An, so this is a straightforward honest review. It’s just weird,I hope that I don’t get the same AI style response as everyone else.

Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, just one block from both the Blue and Brown MRT lines, making it incredibly convenient. Hotel itself has a boutique, modern feel. Has stylish furnishings, inviting common areas, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Free coffee and snacks throughout the day, as well as evening social hour, Bed was extremely comfortable, and the room design felt both contemporary and cozy. When we first checked in, our initial room unfortunately had a lingering smoke smell from a previous guest. However, this turned into an example of outstanding service. Pei Wu, the Assistant Front Office Manager, took care of the situation with professionalism and kindness. She not only switched us to a new room but also upgraded us and surprised us with a cake. Overall, Kimpton Da An combines exceptional service, great amenities, and a perfect location. We would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei!

I was able to walk to many lovely eateries, shops, and sights. If I did not want to walk, taking a taxi or Uber is super easy and the staff helped if needed. Clean, modern, and friendly, I highly recommend the Kimpton Da-An and will stay here again on my next visit.

He is a natural at customer care and he definitely made the stay very welcoming. The rooms are spacious, providing amenities such as a yoga mat (which is helpful with some stretching after lots of walking). The rooms are quiet and beds are comfortable. They also provide afternoon and evening snacks, which is a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Caught train from airport to central station and short taxi ride to hotel. Taxi driver was unsure of location and I had taken screen shots of location which I was glad for. Welcome drink and efficient check in. Staff fried ly and explained hotel facilities and surrounding recommendations for coffee etc. given map with suggested walking routes and shopping areas surrounding the hotel. This was greatly appreciated as the area has great restaurants and shopping. Room was very spacious and well designed. Small entry area with seat. Large bathroom area with separate shower and toilet. Room had coffee and read station. Mini fridge and small table. Large comfortable bed and good amount of hanging and storage for baggage etc. welcome fruit and note in room was a nice touch. Hotel had little snacks for breakfast lunch in the lobby with good coffee and juice. At dinner there was free happy hour with nibbles and wine. Really enjoyable and great way to chat to other guests. Metro station 50meters from hotel which made the location extremely central for visiting the city. Staff were all very friendly, approachable and gave great recommendations Would stay again.

Specifically, I’d like take a moment to shoutout Rohit. He made the experience at Kimpton Hotel memorable. I definitely will be back! In terms of amenities, the Living Garden is a calm chill place to enjoy small bites and drinks during certain hours of the day. Right above on the second floor is the fitness room. It has all the equipment you need to get a workout for the day. Stocked with water (cold and room temp) and tangerines. Lastly, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, providing a relaxing stay amongst the hustle and bustle of Taipei!
