• Jesse (8/5): Overall it was a great place and as the pictures show. - I loved the friendly nest with which we were welcomed. The home was beautiful and the beds and living space were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and we were pleased with the wifi and the temperature of the place. There was a power outage and we did not feel like the contact person managed it well. We were in a hard situation because we had invited some people to have dinner with us at the home and the fact that not only did she ask us to run around trying different things but she also never offered anything for the problematic situation we were in. Even if the power outage was not her fault the least she could do was to be more willing to come or send someone to check out the power box and to then offer a discount or some sort of offering for the distress we found ourselves in. The locking system of the front door is also not installed very well the craftmanship is not good quality. That door should be reset and the electronc locking system should be installed more correctly.

• Sonia (9/5): A beautiful stay in the heart of Athens - Beautiful home in the most central area of Athens. Very comfortable and had all amenities that were needed. 6 mins walk to 2 different metro lines, 15 min to the Acropolis, Ancient Agora. 5 mins walk to the Roman Forum or Hadrian's Library. Everything was in walking distance including supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The house is beautifully decorated and was perfect for gathering around the table in the living room for chats before heading out. A couple things need updating as would expect from an older house but nothing that affected our stay (loose bathroom fittings, bulbs not working). The bedrooms facing out onto the main street had noise coming in so bring ear plugs.

Das oberste Stockwerk ist nur über eine Wendeltreppe erreichbar. Für unsere Kinder war das ein zusätzliches Abenteuer.

• Kirsty (10/5): Clean and spacious property in an amazing location - Amazing location in Plaka. The property was exactly like it looks in the pictures. We were a family group of six and loved how much space we had. As others have noted, the top floor room is accessed by stairs in one of the double rooms, which worked fine for us (we had one of the kids in that top floor space). Communication with the property was excellent. They were extremely responsive and had someone come by when we had trouble figuring out the nespresso machine. They were also very accommodating with letting us leave luggage after we checked out. We loved our stay at Athenian Niche and would definitely use it again anytime we were in Athens.

• James (8/5): Nice one night stay near all the spots. - Location was great, with restaurants and attractions nearby. Living room was a good place to gather. Some nice accoutrements in the kitchen. Wine was a nice touch, as was outside courtyard. A little difficult to manage luggage from where our transportation could get us. A bedroom on the first floor would have been great.

• ELizabeth (10/5): Great house in a location convenient to all the sites. - Location, location location! I may have missed it in the description but just note the 4th bedroom (which is nice) is accessed through one of the other bedrooms via spiral staircase.

• Marléne (6/5): Central location, attention to cleaning and it's even better - + The location was very central, there was loud noise and music from the restaurants but we expected and knew about this so not a big problem. + Cold water and wine in the fridge, coffee etc. offered - great! + Facilities otherwise were great in kitchen (although could not get the Nespresso machine to work but not a big deal) + Bathrooms and rooms were clean and fresh! - Cleanliness unfortunately, floor and carpet in sitting room and kithcen were dirty and there were bugs and cockroaches in the kitchen and living room. We had agreed on a check in time and cleaners were still rushing to clean when we arrived. Maybe that's why it wasn't clean.

• Noel (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay! Anna was so helpful, kind, and friendly.she was also very communicative. We arranged pick - The location is perfect!!! So many restaurants and shopping very close to the house. Right in the heart of the Plaka! The house is spacious, clean, and well-stocked! One of the queen bed mattresses isn’t very comfortable. To access the third floor room with two twin beds and the sofa, you must go up a spiral staircase located in one of the bedrooms. Neither of these issues take away too much from the good things about this property.

• Sara (9/5): A big, clean house in the middle of Plaka excitement. - If you want to be in all the action in Plaka, this is a great spot. We sat on our balcony and watched all the tourists walking down our street...the oldest street in Athens. Very fun. Unfortunately, it was Saturday night and the restaurant next door had loud live music until 1 am! However, the apartment was clean and they thought of everything we might need. With two college students with us, this was a fun location.

It’s right next to a restaurant that has live music in the evenings. You can hear everything so you’ll need earplugs. The rooms on the first floor facing the street get the most noise.

Location to all the important sites assoicated with acropolis are within walking distance. Use of taxi's is limited as the streets are narrow and full of tourists the stairway was difficult to use and is especially a challenge for those who are elderly or have balance issues. It is always appreciated when the location has coffee ingredients ( filters, coffee). Bathrooms with hooks are very important for clothes and towells
• Jeffd73 (10/5): Amazing place to stay in the center of Athens - Athenian House is a great place to stay in Athens. Location is unbelievable. Walk to Acropolis, Monastiraki, Syntagma, Forum. You are right in the middle of everything. Restaurants and cafes within steps. Place is compact, expected in the city center, but perfect for our group of 9. Not handicap friendly though as all bedrooms are up stairs. Very clean and well maintained. Owner was responsive and helpful. Everything as advertised. Front facing bedrooms can be a little noisy in the evening.

Right in the heart of Plaka and within walking distance of the commercial center as well as Metro stations. The place is excellent, well stocked and if you dare bring a car "in there" well, there are parking lots around.

• Billie (8/5): - This was a great location but it was hard to reach the establishment. We had several communication problems prior to arriving. We were given a number to contact and the response did not happen. We were told to down load the "What up app" and it was still hard to get them to communicate with us. We were a party of 5 and needed more supplies and we had to ask several times. This is a great property with lots of amenities, but the lack of consistent communication made our stay more difficult.We were not told, when we booked, about the plumping issue prior and that definenity needs to be shared on the website. Because we could not flush paper there was a need for more garage bags but we never received more. They are a few notches from being a perfect stay. There needed to be better communication, up front info about the plumbing and more access to necessary supplies for a week with five people.

It was a great place to celebrate the last few days of our trip to Greece. Every door in the house is extremely squeaky. It would be advised for the owners to add some lubricant to the door hinges so that light sleepers aren't being awakened by the squeaks.

Liked the Nespresso machine and all amenities. The location is right in the middle of Plaka and is close to all major attractions, stores and countless restaurants. House was very noisy. Not so much from the outside but ‘echoey’ on the inside. Bring earplugs! One of the bedrooms is sort of pass through from attic to rest of the house and toilets which is not ideal. Bathrooms were small and unfortunately flushing toiletpaper is not allowed which is quite normal in some places in Greece but feels awkward.

We had no problem with it but if you retire early, bring some ear plugs for the customarily late dinner crowd from the abundant lovely restaurants nearby. Our host was helpful and prompt. We loved it.

• Melinda (9/5): Great place for bigger groups and for enjoying Athens - The location is great for sure. Walk anywhere to enjoy Athens with cafes, restaurants and shopping close by. Good facilities with 2 full baths and a half-bath to go with the 3 bed-rooms in the 2nd floor and an attic room accessible through 1 bedroom. All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor so it’s not convenient for elderly and maybe young kids. Although one can leave bags in the living room, it will be hard to bring up heavy luggages.

We were sad to only stay two nights - we will definitely be back to stay in this beautiful home. The street-side bedrooms were loud with all the fun on the street, but we fully expected that and realized that was the trade off fb or the wonderful location!

The property is located in the heart of Plaka; with restaurants, shopping and historical sites at your doorstep. A vibey and fun area; but no noise from the outside could be heard inside. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. A quick 8 min walk from Monastiraki metro station. We were allowed to keep our bags at the property until we had to go to the airport (late night flight).

• Joanne (10/5): Beautiful Villa in gorgeous Plaka! - The Villa was in an amazing location - so convenient to everything. It was quite spacious and the bathrooms were very modern. The 3rd toilet was great for a large group. The host Aspa was lovely and helpful. She recommended the restaurant across the road which turned out to be great - very friendly staff, casual vibe and food was good value for money. The front bedrooms were noisy at night because of the restaurants below but earplugs did the trick. The Villa is over 3 levels and the stairs are quite steep. Fine for us but some may find them difficult. The stairs to the attic started inside one of the bedrooms which was a bit inconvenient.
