The location is great for the price, almost right next to Kensington Gardens, down the street is tube and bus station, and near are shops and places to eat. Lots of shelves and a big closet to put stuff away, also a sink in the room is a bonus. Both toilets on my floor didn’t work one night, the window in my room opens only half-way so it would get quite stuffy in there, the bed was really squeaky.

I shared a room with other 4 girls that were living in the hostel, a proper tenants. Very dirty and clutter everywhere. Sheets were smelly and they were bedbugs. Toilets unable for use. Girls in the room talking loudly on the phone disturbing others people. Worst experience ever in a hostel. Zero hygiene, I had to book another hostel for NEWS EVE. I ended up with bedbugs bites on my body. They returned the money btw after back and forth

• Muhammad Qaiyum (10/5): Comfortable stay, friendly staff, and a great central location for solo travel. - The place was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The location is excellent as it’s right in the middle of the city, making it easy to get around. Very suitable for solo travellers. The gym was also not too bad. Nothing major, overall it was a pleasant stay.
• Jonathan Luke (10/5): Two thumbs up! - After searching online for a 1 night stay I found the Sandeman-Allen hostel which had good reviews and had a single bed available in a 3 single bed dorm. I chose this even though it was a little more expensive than a normal dorm that typically sleeps 8 or more people because it can be difficult to get a good nights sleep with people coming and going at all hours. This place is definitely not a party place though and has a number of longer term guests. They offer free breakfast which on the Saturday morning included a typical English hot breakfast in the cafeteria. They also serve a different lunch and dinner everyday for 5 pounds which is a great deal and decent food! All the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole hostel was very clean and relatively well maintained. The whole place has a spacious feel to it (except the elevator which was the tiniest one I've ever been in LOL)!! Another plus is they have a well equipped gym right by the entrance. The hostel is a short walk to the Bayswater tube station/shops/beautiful Hyde park/grocery stores and restaurants. No complaints!

• Carolina (4/5): Mucho que mejorar... - La persona que me atendió en recepción muy bien, aunque se equivocó en el horario del gimnasio. La habitación parecía limpia teniendo en cuenta que la vi ya de noche y que "vivian" dos chicas allí Los baños son una porqueria, súper pequeños y sin espejo. Lo peor las dos duchas que hay... no tienes ni un lugar para poder dejar las cosas y son muy muy pequeñas (hasta ahora nunca me había quejado de una ducha pequeña hasta que comprobé que aun puedes encontrar sorpresas) No te puedes ni mover, prácticamente no puedes lavarte el pelo porque no hay espacio. No llegué a probar el desayuno porque justamente los sábados empiezan a las 9:15h ( si vas de turismo normalmente a esa hora ya estás visitando lugares). Había un olor en todo el hostelería MUY desagradable.

• David (8/5): - Tres bon emplacement (2 min à pied des commerces et du métro) et proche du centre (15 min en métro), bonne ambiance générale dans l'hôtel les résidents sont vraiment sympathiques, le personnel réactif et à l'écoute, propreté et disponibilité des toilettes et salles de bains, , nombre de toilettes / le petit déj gratuit / j'ai réservé une chambre pour personne seule avec lit simple (et non en dortoir) : présence d'un réfrigérateur, tiroir et lavabo ce qui est très pratique. Une fenêtre donnant sur la cour est pratique pour étendre le linge. Super pour le prix. C'est une auberge qui convient aux âgées comme aux jeunes. Dommage que la cuisine n'ait pas de plaque de cuissons pour qu'on puisse se préparer nous même à manger (c'est un détail) mais juste à part l'hôtel est top (presence seulement de micro ondes)
• Lili (10/5): It was great, i’ll be back for sure! - You can check in-out anytime. The staff and also the people who stayed there were kind. The location is perfect, 2 min from Hyde park, Notting hill is also 15 min away with bus&walk. big spacious closet. The showers were a bit too small, but overall clean. My only problem really was that my bunkbed was missing a step to the top bed, so it was a bit harder to climb up.

• Rita (8/5): - This hostel is located very conveniently. I had booked a shared female room. Shared with another female who is boarding there long-term. Simple room, enough for what you need it for. Don't get much info from reception regarding touristy things as this place is moreso for long-term boarders, from what I heard they open beds to the public over the summer period. In saying that staff were always helpful when I interacted with them. Allowed to leave luggage with them pre checkin and post checkout. They offer breakfast, you can join them for their dinner at a reasonable rate. Shower facility very simple, does the job Enjoyed my stay.

• Catherine (7/5): Sandeman-Allen . The best value hostel in london - It was amazing value for money. It even included a help yourself continental breakfast. It was a short walk or bus into Oxford Street and right next to Kensington Gardens. For £35 what's not to like. The bathroom could have had an over bath shower as the bath was grimy and , of course, not everyone can get in and out of a bath. There were signs asking guests to leave it clean. Pity they didn't heed the request as the cost would go up if they needed to employ extra staff to do the job. Also , for their own good, they need to secure the hot and cold taps in the bathroom as at present they are losely attached to piping. One heavy handed person and they'd be off with water everywhere. One other niggle. It is quite noisy with people chatting away loudly on the steps of the hostel at well past 1 am. That, in my opinion, needs to be curtailed.. and please no industrial vacuuming at 6am on a Sunday morning 😂 But overall I cannot complain . The above are simply niggles and suggestions.

• Juan (5/5): Passport stolen - Location, leaders of staff were kind, good room for 1 person My passport was stolen the last day after a Volunteer did cleaning of My room without My permission or being asken. Passport was Left on the table because was a room of 1 bed, i left room To received breakfast when I come back to room they were already passing to next room and 1 of the guys with the Hoover looking me suspicious. I Left that day without checking passport, when i call some hours after the leaders, a Nice admin very Professional, told me the Volunteer had already Left the hostal, no possibility for cams or additional tracking of the cleaning guy. A good measure is for check out moment for the hostal to ask for a checklist and exoneration of stolen items, as they often do to check rooms status before a customer leave. If this has not happened, it would be perfect. Police report already Made about the situation. Check before leaving!

The location is also great. You're near many grocery shops, the underground, Hyde park etc . However, the bedding, the cleanliness - very poor. I almost checked out after the first night, even if it meant losing my money, but it was too short notice to find somewhere else.

The room was bright.. very close to Bayswater & Queensway Tubes.. The shower was clean and the shower head was moveable which is good 👍🏻 Breakfast included however l didn’t get to have any … (l’d like to to say thank you to the lovely Irish chap in the kitchen who’d offered me cup of tea, so kind of him ) Breakfast was getting served from 9:15 onwards over the weekend 🙄🙁which is insanely late for the busy city like London. People are up by 6/7am out & about already by 8am😬😂so it would make sense to have items to grab and go kind of food perhaps people who are early risers or people having to leave early…

• David (3/5): I won't go there again. - Location was ideal for me as I arrived to Paddington Station just before midnight. It's a prime location anyway, just off Bayswater Road Basement where I stayed was dilapidated and dingy. Toilet floor was filthy, loo roll holder and paper towel dispenser were empty. Fortunately there were a few sheets of toilet paper on the shelf behind me, I used them before 6 am so the next person would have had a real problem!

Facilities were poor, if they weren’t broken they were close to breaking and everything was just painted over multiple times even vents in bathrooms… toilets never clean, sinks disgusting. Elevator broken half the stay. Main issue though is that it seems to be a long stay hostel. Normally not a bad thing but when getting questioned by multiple staff who think you’re trespassing or asked to move on by security whilst sitting did not make me feel welcomed what so ever.
