Bathroom looked like there had been a leak, sink had huge cracks, sink vanity was broken. Toilet paper holder was loose. No suitcase holder,, closet light wouldn’t turn off, dresser drawers difficult to open.

Also the shower was leaking. The bathroom in general needed attention as the walls were full of moisture and water, ribbed just like the ceiling.

- Keviyiengunuo (6/5): Overall, the stay was comfortable in terms of location and basic facilities, but I feel there is room for improvement in - It was okay During my recent stay at Hyatt Grand Central, I found the overall hospitality experience below expectations. Given my interest in hospitality, I pay close attention to details and service consistency, and I did not feel that level of attentiveness throughout my stay. In particular, in-room amenities felt limited, as basic provisions such as hot water or tea/coffee facilities were not available, which impacted the overall comfort of the experience.

Our check-in and check-out were both smooth, and the lobby was very clean with very nice decor. There are enough elevators that there was no problem ever getting to our floor (30th) quickly. We could not hear any noise from neighboring rooms through the walls, so the insulation seems good too. The only issue is that luggage storage (our flight was several hours later than our checkout time) is an additional cost.

- Voyager04180455723 (10/5): A 'Grand" experience - Great location and clean, comfortable accomodations in the heart of midtown. A perfect homebase for visiting or touring NYC, including the incomparable Grand Central Terminal. Room was large by Manhattan standards and all services were excellent.
- mathieudP703TP (10/5): Great deal/value/location! - I'm giving this hotel 5 stars despite some minor flaws. It's simply unbeatable in terms of value relative to what you get for the price you have to pay. For New York these days, this Hyatt is indeed quite modestly priced. Of course, it's not a super deluxe Hyatt, but how could it be. Instead, it is an efficient hotel in a great location! Our rooms were double bed, a rather big room for the city. The minor flaws are: no coffeemaker in the room, unstable WIFI, and so so service at the Market. But the setting is otherwise great. Nothing to complain about in terms of breakfast (the buffet is pricey and we did not use it) because you'd be foolish not to go to a nearby diner if you want more than the coffee and bagel/donut/croissant from the Market. Staff is friendly. Ideal for business folks and couples. There are still rumors it will close, but nothing can be seen of that for now, April 2026.

The Receptionist at check out was not. I was asking where to drop my keys and she just replied rudely, "drop the keys!". She was annoyed. I didn't see any drop box on her counter, so au tried to go in line for my turn but it went too long and I got bored waiting. I wanna go out and explore more before my flight. I was thinking to just bringing my room card/keys like effit. Then, I found by MYSELF, that there is a drop box near the escalator/stairs. Had to pay 12 usd to secure my luggages, it should be free for clients who have room reservations. I asked for slippers and bathrobe but none came.

The initial experience is very pleasant and welcoming. Considering the hustle and bustle of the location, the calm and inviting doorman/security is very much appreciated. The room was clean and very comfortable. The City View room was worth the extra $25/night. great view onto 42nd Avenue. The hotel is large and the slow customer service reflects that, it takes a while to get a response and to receive requested items. But overall, a very pleasant experience. l would stay here again.

Bathrooms need a remodel, lobby couches not the easiest to get in and out of for older folks. However, if you need to go to a wedding at Cipriani's, or use the Grand Central subway for anything, the location cannot be beat. The staff was excellent! Everyone went out of their way to be helpful including the housekeeping staff. Just don't expect this Hyatt to be the most luxurious . We enjoyed our stay in spite of the wear and tear.

Plumbing kept my wife up at night and outside in the subway station there was a police shooting that I had to run from. There is a nearly $45 a night destination fee, but they give you $15 a day for their market.

However the bathroom was very outdated and run down, could definitely use an overhaul. Our room was directly across from the elevator which would ding every time it stopped at the floor.

Prior to the trip I noted that some people commented on noise but we did not find this an issue. The reception area is spacious and well decorated. Elevators were plentiful and we never had to wait long. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. There was a fridge. It would have been nice to have a complimentary bottle of water on arrival after a long day travelling. It was pretty clean apart from behind the sofa in the corner. The hotel bar and shop are lovely but incredibly expensive. One off-putting thing about this hotel is the 'street cliental' directly outside and along from Grand Central Station. This made us feel uncomfortable on occasions. Most staff are friendly and helpful. There was only one staff member on reception who was abrupt and rude with us on arrival. Overall, great location, clean and modern shared areas, rooms are ok. Expensive to eat/drink there but most hotels are!

Shower pressure was perfect and water got super hot. Never had to wait long for elevator. Lobby had substantial seating while waiting for family to come downstairs. My only gripe is the light switches in the rooms are annoying to figure out.

- mmV4851VU (10/5): Trip to New York - I wasn’t quite sure what to expect after reading some mixed reviews, but our stay turned out to be better than anticipated. We stayed on the 20th floor in an executive room, which was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The bed was especially comfy, and we appreciated having a fridge to keep drinks cold, along with a spacious walk-in shower. We did bring our own travel kettle, though it would have been a nice touch if the hotel provided one in the room. The location is a major highlight—right next to Grand Central Station and within easy walking distance of Times Square, the Empire State Building, SUMMIT One, and Bryant Park, making it perfect for exploring the city. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were lovely and welcoming, which really added to the experience. We’d definitely consider staying here again

- pmk175 (10/5): Great location, great hotel - This was our second stay at the Hyatt Grand Central, the last time being three years ago, and it did not disappoint this time. The hotel is in a great location for us. We can walk to Times Square/5th Avenue direction easily, the same to the Empire State Building, The Summit, or towards the Rockefeller Center. You can access Grand Central station for the subway or trains via the hotel or a short walk outside, or plenty of taxis available outside if needed. Travelling with my teenage daughters, I felt safe in the area for coming and going during the day or late at night. We had a very good size room and bathroom and the hotel is clean and tidy. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again if visiting New York.

- 151sunghyukk (4/5): Poor experience - This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever had, especially as a Globalist member. My wife and I chose this stay to celebrate two very meaningful occasions, her birthday and her one year cancer free anniversary. We came expecting a special, restful, and memorable experience, but sadly, that is not what we received. Even though I used a Suite Award certificate, the room did not meet the level of quality we expected at all. It felt underwhelming and far below what should come with that type of upgrade. On top of that, there was no Chromecast, so I could not connect my phone to the TV, and there were no Netflix or other streaming options available. What made the experience even worse was the service at the front desk. We kindly mentioned twice that we were celebrating a very special occasion and asked if any welcome amenity might be possible. We were told they would do the best they could. They even took my phone number and made it seem like they would follow up. Nothing was ever provided. No amenity, no text, no phone call, and not even the courtesy of an update. As a Globalist member, this was extremely frustrating and honestly unacceptable. I did not feel recognized, valued, or cared for in any way. More than that, I felt ignored. For a stay that meant so much to us personally, the lack of hospitality and follow through made this experience deeply disappointing. This was, without question, the worst experience I have had as a Globalist.

- B1392YZedwinm (2/5): Awful Hotel, only positive is that it is centrally located! - The facilities were very poor, the condition of the room was very worn, the carpets were dirty and sticky the shower was dirty and in poor condition. The furniture was broken with all doors of cupboards and drawers catching rubbing and looking damaged. The windows were absolutely filthy you could barely see outside. The carpets in the hallways on our floor were all lifted down the middle and a trip hazard. One of the poorest hotel experiences we have had in years. It also seemed that your bar/restaurant in the lobby was never open during our stay. It has totally ruined my expectations of a Hyatt hotel and we would never stay with you again

- Joshrey (10/5): Excelente ubicación. - Definitivamente la ubicación de este hotel es lo mejor, junto a la gran central terminal en el midtown de Manhattan te conecta con el metro y trenes de inmediato, hay opciones de comida y desayuno en la gran central terminal, una gran ventaja es que está en la séptima avenida y eso te aleja un poco del bullicio de otros hoteles mas céntricos o cercanos a Times Square, los elevadores son rápidos y nunca se saturaron, el gimnasio está muy bien equipado, tiene una tienda con precios elevados pero para alguna emergencia siempre es útil, solo a una calle del punto de colecta del autobús que te lleva al aeropuerto de Newark, a una calle de Brayant Park y junto al mirador Summit one Vanderbilt.
- andyH8443DQ (4/5): There are much better and safer options - Ok, this review is mixed and covers our 9 days in the hotel on a work trip. The good - Cleaning staff try their best and are friendly. restaurant staff are the same but food is ordinary. The bad....hold your hat. - Hotel is very tired and run down. black mould int eh shower, peeling wall paper, corners of the room and other hard to vacuum areas are filthy. - In the 9 days there was never a time where we didn't get bombarded with dope smoke in front of the hotel. It was so bad we both wound up with sore throats from all the smoke. - 5pm on a week day we saw a man pants down urinating against the hotel entry. Homeless people gather around the hotel making it unsafe for solo female travelers....pretty much any time, but especially at night. - Followed from the hotel by a man at the hotel entry screaming about Jesus. - Saw a man vomiting next to the hotel entry....remained uncleaned for 3 days. - Garbage at front of the hotel, remained uncleaned for the duration of our stay. Now the one that REALLY pissed me off. This was a high stress work trip, My wife called the hotel to make sure they could take a delivery, she organised for a hamper to be int eh room on my arrival (after 40 hours of flying and trains)....a lovely surprise...but not in a good way. The hamper did not arrive. The supplier sent through photos clearly showing the floor on the hotel mailroom, stated exactly what the courier did and where it was dropped (in accordance with hotel signage). The mailroom manager on duty Saturday 14/3 struggled. He spent 30+ minutes reviewing the email from the courier 3 times, stating it had not been delivered, it was delivered to the wrong address, it was left somewhere else etc etc. I asked him to find a manger, which he finally did on the 2nd attempt. The duty manager (approx. 7pm 14/3) can only be described as aggressive and unprofessional. Despite their distinctive floor being clearly visible in the photo from the courier and the wheel of the mailroom trolley being visible, he denied all responsibility with numerous excuses.....the courier must have dropped it randomly int eh hotel (despite the concierge being at the entry and the statement from the courier), it had not been delivered yet, could not tell if it was there hotel etc etc. He then promised to call the courier and call me back....never happened. The most likely scenario is that they took delivery and sent it to the wrong room. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the duty manager and mailroom manager and really summed up this hotel. Do yourself a favour, look at the Westin New York Grand Central, much cleaner and just down the road or the iconic Westgate New York Grand Central. Both cheaper, cleaner and less BS.

- JAyersJ (6/5): Great location - Not Helpful - A hotel right in the middle of it all - Loved the location and the room - We did have trouble with no hot water the first night of our 3 night stay - We found out the hot water was off between 9pm and 1pm and when we called the front desk they said it was a Manhattan wide outage - We called 311 and they knew nothing about it - Called the front desk again and they said this time it was because of the steam in the subway - Said they sent out a letter but we never got it - The lack of communication and assistance was very disappointing - The rest of our stay was fine - Would stay again
- francess700 (6/5): Great hotel as long as you are not in a wheelchair - The location is 5*convenient right outside Grand Central Station. The rooms are in great condition, comfy beds also 5* Our travel agent suggested it was suitable for a wheelchair user, it is not. Which is why I gave it 3* Access to the hotel is not a problem and the rooms are large enough. However the shower is impossible for a wheelchair user, the manager did show us a number of different rooms but all had the same issue. We were offered free breakfasts as compensation and then charged for them at checkout
- X2348JFrichardw (10/5): Highly Recommend! 5 Star Stay - The Grand Hyatt is in the ideal location for a trip to NYC. All places in Manhattan are accessible via walking or a subway ride. The hotel staff was friendly and responsive. The rooms were in great condition. It was a positive experience from start to finish.
