- PETER (6/5): location location comfortable - central great location, easy to walk to so many things. room faced the canal which was nice, was great having a balcony . Trams are just out side that can take you up to central station . Lots of choices for food restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Rooms updated and have updated bathrooms, comfy bed . Art Deco architecture over 100 yrs old, awning and street patio room doors are fire doors and if not closing door yourself they do slam shut, I heard this many times. along with noise outside though was saturday night. these are minor cant control that. my real issue I had ants and room needed to be sprayed 4 times, feel this issue could of been handled far more professionally for the comfort of a guest.

Very central location. Great breakfast. Poor overhead lighting in the room, but good bedside lighting with bonus usb plugs. Clothing storage furniture wasn’t what I would expect in this hotel.

- Anna (1/5): - The hotel openly misleads guests with its room photos. I booked an “Executive Room” based on the advertised images showing large windows and beautiful city views, but was given room 601 instead — dark, cramped, with a tiny recessed window overlooking service areas, rooftops and an emergency staircase. In reality, it feels worse than the cheapest standard room. The most absurd part is that my friends stayed in standard rooms at the same hotel just two days earlier, had proper views over the main street, and paid almost half the price. When I complained at reception, instead of resolving the issue, I was told that I should have sent the hotel “special requests” regarding the room in advance. This is completely absurd. A first-time guest cannot possibly know that an “Executive Room” here may actually mean being placed under the roof with a view of a service yard. Guests rely on the descriptions and photos published on the hotel’s official booking pages. If rooms within the same category differ this dramatically in view and quality, the hotel should separate them into different categories, clearly disclose these differences in the room descriptions, and price them accordingly — as reputable hotels around the world do. Otherwise, this simply feels like deliberate deception of guests’ expectations. Absolutely do not recommend room 601. I also want to warn guests about paying cash at this hotel. If you pay for anything in cash, be prepared for it to simply “not appear in the system” later, leaving you unable to prove anything. At check-in, I purchased a travel adapter from reception because the hotel actively advertises them in the lobby for “travelers.” At check-out, I tried to return it, but the staff claimed there was no payment registered in the system, therefore no refund was possible. Since no proper receipt was provided, it was practically impossible to prove anything while rushing to the airport during check-out.

- John (8/5): Excellent hotel base for exploring the sights in Amsterdam - The staff were really helpful and made our stay feel special, including the slice of cake with integral Roman candles included to celebrate my 70th birthday. Excellent location for the museum quarter, public tram transport to and from Amsterdam Central rail station plus taxi rank if needed. Several canal cruise companies also nearby with one directly located outside the front door of the Clayton Hotel. There was a slight glitch with the TV in our room that couldn't be remedied till the following day.

Close to the museum district, canal rides ,shopping, and just plain exploring all the nooks and crannies. Great restaurant choices surrounding hotel. Breakfast was awesome. Art deco decor created a fabulous ambience along with food that delighted the palatte.. Taxes. Taxes accounted for about 1/3 of hotel cost. Costly to keep the city infrastructure maintained, but tax the people who live there more rather than the tourists. Showers were beautiful, but not practical. You need to install grab bars before someone slips and falls and sues for unsafe conditions.

Colazione abbondante, sia dolce che salata. Posizione strategica in Leidseplein, a dieci minuti a piedi dai Musei e a venti minuti a piedi dal centro medievale e da casa di Anna Frank. Ottimamente servito dal tram, che parte dalla Stazione Ferroviaria. Hall molto ordinata e ricca di foto d'autore e opere d'arte. .

- Harvey (6/5): Disappointing - Nothing much Paid for a deluxe room with courtyard view. The ‘view’ was of dirty air conditioning units, dirty fake grass and peeling paint from the walls. Not what we paid extra for!

- Kate (5/5): Would not recommend this hotel. - Good location No amenities, which is subpar for a 4-star hotel. Had to ask for body lotion and Qtip. Extremely expensive for what it was. Got the impression they were minimizing on staff, trying to save money. They managed to get very confused about my two reservations-one for my daughter only 2 days and one for us 3 days.

- Ceil (8/5): A Solid Choice If You Like a Larger Hotel - The location of the hotel is great, with trams and buses nearby. Facilities are clean and staff was helpful and warm. Our bed was comfy and we really enjoyed the little terrace with two chairs and canal view. The two bars are great for a drink and the historic dining room/bar is beautiful. It used to be a Hard Rock Hotel and evidently the room decor and lighting is exactly the same—dark and moody, which makes it hard to put on make up. It gives off a tired 70s rock star vibe. The breakfast buffet is just ok.

- Cemal (8/5): Lokasyonu ve kahvaltı salonunun mimarisi Amsterdam’ı hissetmenizi sağlıyor - Kanal tarafına bakan ve balkonlu Junior Suat odada kaldık. Otelin konumu ve odamızın büyüklüğü harika idi. Kahvaltıda peynir çeşitliliği daha fazla olabilirdi. Dört gece kaldığımız konaklamamızda en azından iki günde bir farklı bakery ürünleri olsa harika olurdu.

- KATIA (8/5): Beautiful stay in Amsterdam - Liked the bar and restaurant decor and ambiance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious. Location was excellent right in the heart of Amsterdam with a lot of things around. Nice outside seating area Stains on the carpet even though everything was clean. Squeaky wooden floors. Breakfast could have had more choices
- Enis (7/5): It was good this is second time. Dust was not that big of an issue. It was hard rock hotel that time though - Location is premium Bed was ok, clean sheets. But the curtains carpets were real dusty.
