Guest Reviews
- Cherith (8/5): - Good situation, about 7mins walk from Russell Square underground with many restaurants in the area. Most staff very helpful. Bed linen and towels excellent and bed very comfortable. Lift very slow and could not open the window in my room
- melanie (10/5): Great location and comfortable stay - Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and decent size room overlooking Southampton Row but on the top floor so quiet. Hints of the hotel's Victorian/Edwardian past with stained glass on the staircase. Will happily return. Lift is a bit small & slow
- McCarthy (6/5): Thistle Bloomsbury Park - It was quiet and comfortable. The shower was very good but rather cramped. The WiFi was excellent. The staff were really friendly It all looked really tired. The furniture, the decor, everything
- Janet (7/5): Ok for a short stay. Great location - Location was the best thing and breakfast was good. Room was small, scruffy, bashed doors and wobbly taps and empty condom wrappers by the bed. Also noisy from traffic.
- Łukasz (8/5): -
- Sima (6/5): Honest review - The location in terms of access to transport links is very good. The surrounding area is also very nice. No AC. View of brick walls from window, nothing of the views of Queens square as advertised. Window did not open sufficiently for hot days.
No minibar and no water provided to make tea, coffee with kettle that were all provided.
All in all its sufficiently good for somewhere to land, to get some rest and serve as a BASIC base in a lovely part of London.
Personally I feel itnis over priced considering lack of facilities and size of rooms.

- Ian (7/5): -
- Karl-Magnus (10/5): -
- Gopi (7/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): Mediocre hotel - Location Staff on reception were constantly distracted and not concentrating on the matter in hand. Bathroom tiny and shower cubicle in particular was small.
- Kenneth (6/5): Loved the location. - Location. Pokey room, impossible shower, typically overpriced London box.
- Fidelia (7/5): -
- Christel (7/5): Super beliggenhet. - Beliggenheten Det var veldig støyende utenfor. Søppeltømming om natta blant annet.
- Kayden (10/5): -
- Claire (6/5): We enjoyed it as the location was good but way overpriced for a 3* - Room was nice and beds were comfortable Overpriced
- John (7/5): - Location. Price. Small room.
- Funez (8/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Great stay, very handy, good value. Watch out for speeding cyclists on pedestrian crossings! - We are return guests and appreciate the value and location. The staff have always been welcoming and helpful. The surrounding area has become more run down, with bags of garbage on the street. However, the area has some good places to eat and is very convenient.
- christian (7/5): -
- Pauline (3/5): - Good location Very expensive for a very ordinary hotel
Small room, no breakfast included 🤔
Found the local cafes much better
- Karen (5/5): -
- Claudia (8/5): -
- Latham (6/5): Location was good breakfast was good but definitely not worth the price - Breakfast good location fab but not good value No shower gel in bathroom bottle was empty but staff very helpful
- Emma (7/5): -
- Monica (8/5): - The hotel was in an excellent location. Lots going on in the surrounding area and just a short walk to the underground.
Very comfy mattress and excellent pillows. The only thing I didn't like was that the beds moved and slid very easily on the wooden floor.
- HAKKI ÇEVİK (9/5): - Location
- Laura (6/5): It was ok - The location was excellent The rooms were small
The rooms were warm, even with a fan
The floors above us were extremely creaky
The noise outside the hotel was a lot at night time. A lot of cars revving engines etc
The lift is tiny!
- Anne (10/5): Wonderful - Room good breakfast lovely and location very good Bed slid on the floor easily
- Małgorzata (8/5): jesteśmy zadowoleni - dobra lokalizacja i obsługa brak światła dziennego, widok na rusztowania
- David (5/5): - hotel was well located but bit small and pokey feeling
shower was small so was the room did not feel like there was somewhere to put suitcase without it being a trip hazard to either of us hotel had no bar
- Ajmal (8/5): Good - Breakfast
- Anna (7/5): For London, this is overall a good option - Good location, equally close to two Underground stations, with the British Museum and a park nearby. The room had everything necessary. The neighbours could not be heard at all, and the bed linen was clean. We arrived about half an hour before check-in and were told that our room was not ready, so we were offered a different one. We declined and waited. After about thirty minutes, we were finally given the keys.
However, the room had not been fully prepared: rubbish from previous guests had not been removed, and there were large clumps of dust under the bed. The bed itself constantly slid across the floor, which was very inconvenient. The towels also had a suspicious yellowish colour. In the evening, there was a pub right below the windows, and the noise from bottles and rubbish being thrown out was extremely loud.
- John (7/5): Typical London Hotel - Location is everything being close to West End and st Pancreas
Excellent breakfast
Prepared to store case No bar/ Evening place for a drink
Small lift4 person) long wait at check in/out times when cleaners also use lift
- cityshippers (9/5): Bloomsbury hotel - Location. Nothing
- Sue (9/5): Relaxing, comfortable with excellent breakfast. - Upgrade offer to a junior suit for £45.
The cleanliness of the property, communal areas & bedroom.
Perfect location for our visit to the theatre district & convenient for Euston. We had to argue for our 2 bottles of complimentary mineral water as there was none in the room & on enquiring about it we were told they didn’t provide it. When we asked to see the manager & showed him the room facilities, which showed that mineral water was supplied, he relented & provided it.
- Sofia (7/5): -
- Alanna (6/5): - Good area handy for tube Lift was slow
- Susan (8/5): -
- Andrea (1/5): Very poor service! - Booked twin beds and sent a follow up email to confirm there would be 2 beds in the room. They replied confirming this and when we arrived were told that room had one bed and they didn’t even have rooms with twin beds!! Very embarrassing and awkward for my son and his friend. I have sent 2 messages asking for a refund and explanation and no response. Very disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend staying here! Zero communication when they made an error. Follow up messages completely ignored.
- monique (7/5): -
- Alexander (2/5): Awful - Location No air conditioning
Unfriendly staff member that checked us in
Tiny bed
Hot room
Loud if windows open
Constant smell of damp
Dommage !
- Marc (7/5): -
- Xavier (7/5): -
- Agneta (7/5): - Bra område. Nära till allt.
- Michaela (9/5): Ruhige Nächte in London - Ruhige Zimmer, bequeme Betten Der fest installierte Duschkopf hängt viel zu tief. Grosse Menschen können nicht darunter stehen.
Andererseits gibt es keinen Schlauch.
- Robb Irrgang (1/5): Poor communication, worse follow-up, and what felt like weight-shaming dressed as goodwill. - The location is good. That's about it. The bathroom needed cleaning after I was ill; the front desk couldn't access their own supply closet; we were given extra towels. We left a clean room request ('please clean' door tag combined with the naive idealism that the front desk would pass a note to housekeeping) out for five hours starting just after 9am—peak cleaning time—and came back to an unclean room. When housekeeping eventually came that afternoon, we left the hotel again to get out of their way. The bathroom floor had clearly not been mopped.
That evening the base of my bed collapsed while I was lying on it...genuinely embarrassing to find yourself sitting on the ground. When I showed the front desk a photo, they sent housekeeping instead of maintenance. At checkout, no gesture of goodwill was offered despite raising all of this. The follow-up email implied I had broken the bed myself—as if hundreds of previous guests hadn't worn it down first. The replacement base was visibly better made than the original.
- Danielle (7/5): Ok did the job - Good location Windows were filthy sofa bed wasn’t comfy
- Alessandro (7/5): -
- Trevor (7/5): -
- Sinem (10/5): Çok merkezi konum, temiz oda ve otel, yardımsever çalışanlar - Konum çok merkezi Odaya girdiğimizde 3. kişi için ek yatak hazır değildi. Eksikliği dile getirince yastık çarşaf gibi malzemeleri hazırlamak yerine sadece odaya bırakıldı. Beklentim üçüncü yatağın da hazır olması şeklinde olurdu.
- John (8/5): Good location and comfort- - Location Noisy main road outside
- Rob (8/5): -
- Ana Catarina (8/5): - Funcionários muito amáveis e muito prestáveis. Bom pequeno-almoço, no entanto pouca variedade e escolhas muito limitadas.
- Vyacheslav (10/5): -
- Jaana (8/5): Hyvä keskitason hotelli , josta helppo liikkua . - Sijainti oli hyvä. Helppo liikkua metron avulla. Huoneessa oli kuuma. Pelkoa tuuletin ei auttanut
- Marie (8/5): Magnifique séjour sous le soleil. - La situation dans Londres. Proche de Saint Pancras et du Métro. Centre accessible à pied. Le bruit de la rue. Simple vitrage.
- Jamie (8/5): Everything I needed -
- lerisse (7/5): Okay, great location. Stayed in better cheaper property's. Thistle brand not as I'd previously known it - The location was good, The window in the bedroom banged all night due to the wind.
Staff could not find my luggage so I had to go in the holding room and find it myself
When I asked to use the bathroom when I arrived the man on staff questioned the other staff member to ensure I had a booking there...but he was not very subtle about it
- alfred (9/5): Outstanding value and an excellent location for site seeing.Great bus routes and plenty of eateries In walking distance - Location, value and staff. Breakfast was excellent Wasn’t anything to dislike
- Janet (9/5): Great for a night out in London - Tidy No long mirror in the room
- LYNSEIGH (5/5): -
- Rachael (7/5): -
- Celeghini (8/5): -
- Lucy (1/5): The staff were very good at changing my room for the second night following my complaint. I did leave my phone charger i - Location to where I needed to be Room was hot very small shabby and very noisy being on the road
- James.c.Macsween (8/5): Ideal. - I had a good couple of nights here. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the breakfast was tasty, and the price was reasonable for London.
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Clodagh (4/5): Overall Room was small, and haf snts but the staff were friendly - Location was good. Room was serviced well No bar facilites , Bathroom had ants infestation
- Paul (8/5): Comfortable and spacious in a great location. - Large rooms with plenty of wardrobe space.
Staff helpfully managed to get us 1 room (out of 2) to check in early.
Great location. Nothing.
- Richard (9/5): better than expected - One of the best breakfasts I've had at London hotels room was a bit small, but ok
- Brian Needham (9/5): -
- Morgane (9/5): -
- Neil (8/5): - Good room friendly staff No lounge
- Karen (3/5): Needs serious improvement - Very poor, we have stayed before last year but this occasion was really unsatisfactory I booked 6 months ahead, a family room to be told my the manager that a all the rooms had a 3 single beed configuration which is absolute nonsense and was proven when thry guy who was filling in and worked at another of your hotels came to our room personally to give us the card key for another family room woth a double bed and single for our daughter so he did a fab job your manager however (an Asian lady) needs some serious training.
The room we had however was boiling hot, no aircon in sight, room very dated, tiny bathroom and the noise from outside was awful and creeping floors from upstairs was ridiculous.
This was a for cry from our first visit which was on floor 5 and was a suite which we were upgraded too so it set the bar high but in general the hotel needs a serious refit.
I did wonder at one point if your manager was homophobic she was that offensive and rude.
I popped down to reception and she told me there was no ice, which I find odd surely you do have ice fo cold drinks etc I got the distinct feeling she was going out of her way to offend us
Given all of the above it was an unpleasant stay and we would not return unless there are some big changes made.
I ran the london marathon sunday and ideally I would have liked a room with a bath but that was a small issue compared to the above.
- Lilly (8/5): Great - Great and convenient location, super comfy bed and friendly staff While room had everything we needed, it was very basic and could do with some TLC, especially in the bathroom
- Aleksandra (10/5): -
- David (10/5): friendly staff, great location, nice hotel - location was great, staff friendly, room was nice, and everything worked. Hotel reception area was very welcoming. Toilet seat cheap and not good, no shower rail to hold onto, and room noisy first thing as faced a pub and rubbish collection, but not hotels fault i know
- Craig (10/5): Excellent - Lovely building, lovely sized room n facilities. Great location for the places we want to get to N/a
Krakende vloer.
- Jack (9/5): -
- Anne (9/5): - Location to theatres. Old building, squeaky floorboards from room above.
- Bart-Jan (10/5): -
- Thadeusz (8/5): -
- Jotafonso (7/5): - Extremely well located! Equipments and furniture could be updated.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Hansen (7/5): -
- Dawn (7/5): -
- Beth (7/5): -
- Dan (1/5): - Staff Room was noisy, bed kept moving around at night, a grim bedroom
- Dean (10/5): - Great location
- Stuart (8/5): Perfectly ok, reflects the price range in London - great location , reasonable price for London Room a little small and decor probably needs an update. Plus there were ants in the room
- Eleanor (10/5): Spacious comfortable room in very convenient location - Excellent location, attractive room and friendly helpful staff. 5 mins from the British Museum and 15 to walk to the middle of Soho. Comfy bed and well supplied bathroom and tea/ coffee tray. All good
