LondonTown00 (10/5): Great Hotel. Great service - I love this hotel. The check in is always warm and friendly. The staff here seem genuinely nice. The rooms are modern and well equipped with large comfortable beds. The bathrooms, usually on the smaller side, have good walk in showers with great pressure and nice toiletries. They have a social hour with complementary wine and beer each day for an hour. The lobby area has numerous comfortable places to sit. The hotel has a great cocktail bar attached to the hotel. They sell amazing cocktails and it is frequently visited by non hotel guests. Breakfast is nice with reasonable choice and quality. The a la acre options are nicer than the buffet in my opinion. Location is very central for Amsterdam. Under 10 mins from Central station and close good transport links. There is lots to do within walking distance and a tram stop just outside if you want to travel further. I habe stayed here at least 10 times now and always look forward to returning. I have stayed elsewhere in Amsterdam but this place is my favourite.
Gaston (10/5): Modern hotel with friendly staff - Conveniently located in the old city near the Centrale Train Station, the property is modern, well-appointed, and clean…the staff friendly and helpful. We had a large room with a beautiful street view and multiple windows on two sides of the room, and a large bathroom. We enjoyed Celia Restaurant, where we ate breakfast each morning and dinner one night…the food is delicious and wait staff attentive. Celia’s Bar was also great for a late night cocktail or glass of wine. Everything was perfect.
Ute (7/5): Ohne Frühstück okay - Die Lage war sehr gut, alles konnte zu Fuß erreicht werden . Ausstattung und Personal freundlich . Die Betten waren bequem und das Zimmer war sauber und ansprechend. Der Frühstücksraum war ungemütlich und nicht ansprechend , da die Tische eng nebeneinander standen und teilweise wurden sie erst gesäubert ,wenn man an den Tisch herran geführt wurde. An Kaffee zu kommen war sehr schwierig ,da es keine selbstbedinnungs Kaffeeautomaten gab und vom Personal abhängig war. Die Bettdecken waren viel zu warm

OskiBronco (6/5): A Disappointment for a Kimpton Branded Hotel - I am from San Francisco where Kimpton hotels started and I have stayed in several of them over the years as you can count on their quality and uniqueness. This was a major disappointment where my wife and I stayed for five nights. To be fair here are the pros and cons. PROS: Very helpful and nice staff…well trained. Very good location as it is very close to most tourist attractions and the train station. The lobby and common areas were large and nicely appointed. CONS: Very small rooms so hard to fit two suitcases. Bathroom had a single 6” wide shelf so difficult for toiletry kits. Bathroom door was glass that was occluded on the bottom panes but the glass panes at eye level were clear so you can see in to anyone on the toilet or taking a shower. Hallway ceiling heights were under 7’ high. Buffet breakfast was mediocre at best in selection and quality at a charge of 33 euros. Overall a disappointment for Kimpton brand but IHG bought Kimpton 10+ years ago so it is just not the same quality as before.

Flyer35621953505 (10/5): Old world charm at a whole new level! - Have been with IHG for almost 30 years and for the most part feel they are consistently just average properties with a few that truly rise to the occasion and up until recently the Staybridge Suites in Nashville held the number one spot across the board, but the Kimpton Dewitt may have just taken over that spot. Start to finish a beautiful property that is centrally located and is staffed front to back with some of the best in the industry. Thank you!
Rubinger (10/5): The Best Stay in Amsterdam! - Our experience at the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam was top notch. This is a very well run hotel. The staff and services were excellent. The location is very central to everything in Amsterdam. It was a very quick walk with our luggage from the train station when we arrived. All of the staff were more than gracious and obviously well trained. We had breakfast included in our stay which was fantastic and started off our days of sightseeing in the best way. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a luxurious stay. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

611alanaj (10/5): Didn’t want to leave - The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were quirkie but colorful and comfortable. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. We didn’t want to leave. The buffet breakfast was large with many tasty options. I hope to stay again at Kimpton De Witt.
DinFrance (6/5): Possibly not for me. Good location. - I oscillated between 'Average' and 'Good' but I'm afraid it landed in the former category. The overwhelming positive of the hotel is its location so close to the station - literally a 5 minute walk. Great for getting to/from airport/catching Eurostar and/or travelling to close-by towns and cities. Equally, one of the easy-to-use trams will always be heading in the direction of the central station meaning easy to get back to the hotel if you've strayed afar. Clearly, a slight negative is the sheer number of tourists in the area - but that is central Amsterdam for you. The hotel was 'fine' if, perhaps, a little dated in places. Definitely more large-chain than boutique. Maybe missing some of those touches you would get in the boutique hotels e.g. the 'Social Hour' was pleasant, but there were no soft drinks other than canned cokes/fantas etc - no more natural juices (and no nibbles!). I know #FirstWorldProblems - but just describing some examples of differences. Breakfast was a bit of a hassle. Quite a queue and wait to then be seated and the breakfast rules seemed a bit overcomplicated (and took time to explain to each person as we all waited). It was extremely busy as well - must have been a queue of 20+ people waiting one morning. Just all seemed too formulated/old school. One of the lifts was out of action for an evening/morning which was a little frustrating. Maybe it's me i.e. I chose a place not really suited to myself.
constantined342 (10/5): Excellent hotel - I stayed at the Kimpton De Witt in early April for 2 nights. It's a great hotel - I really enjoyed staying there. Service was impeccable and staff very attentive and helpful throughout the hotel - what you'd expect at a Kimpton hotel! Nice breakfast and good wifi. Very convenient and quiet location - a 5-min walk to the main train station and there's a tram stop outside the hotel. My room was on the 6th floor. Very comfortable and spacious for Europe. The bathroom was on a smaller side but perfectly comfortable, including a walk-in shower. Good water pressure.
soniameyrick (10/5): Highly recommended hotel in a great location - Took the opportunity to have a few nights away while our son was skiing with the school. Booked a King Premium Street View Room. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Lots of smiles. Room was a lovely surprise - very big with a lovely bathroom and toiletries. Bottle of fizz in room as we had recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Room was very quiet at night - a must for me as not a great sleeper. Limited noise from outside. Good breakfast - it was busy but never waited long. Concierge full of smiles and helpful - showed us best ways to get around Amsterdam. What was a treat was the social hour between 4-5pm - the bar area filled up for complimentary wine or beer - created a chatty and friendly atmosphere. There is also a cocktail bar located within the hotel - not open every day but for 2 of our 3 days it was and we popped in. Good fun in there sitting at the circular bar and nice drinks. Good location for the station, nicer canal walk area and the more cheesy red light district. Would highly recommend.

explorewithhazel (10/5): A Perfect Three Nights in Amsterdam! - I stayed at the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam for a few days and I truly enjoyed it! The room was clean and it had all the items that I needed, plus if you forgot something, they had items available for you during your stay. Aside from the location, the staff truly makes it special. The hotel is within a 5-minute walk to Amsterdam Centraal Station that can take you to different parts of the city or country should you wish to ride versus walk. Easy access to/from the airport - one train from the Schiphol airport too. Be sure to check the map since I ended up taking the long route to the hotel when it truly is a straight shot down via Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. The property itself is close to lots of food, bars, stores and much more! Very walkable or rideable. They have complimentary bicycles (first-come, first-served) and they even have a private canal tour offered to guests at specific times, be sure to ask the front desk to schedule. The room was clean, spacious and if you get a chance to get a premium room with a view of the city, it makes it that much more special! During my time there, the staff was super helpful in trying to help me get tickets to a match I wanted to attend and they were super helpful with any questions I had regarding the city or how to get around, especially it being my first time in Amsterdam. Special thanks to Fabio for all of his assistance! The property has a restaurant, a cafe and a cocktail lounge. I enjoyed all of them but especially Super Lyan Bar. Their cocktails were on point but the service and kindness of the staff and bartenders was top notch - shout out to Benji, Lorenzo, Angelous, Sam, Geri and a few others that I did not get their names, they truly take care of you. And, you can grab some food too along with their delicious (lekker) cocktails. There is a happy hour available to guests so be sure to stop in for happy hour or anytime they are open, it's a vibe. I had dinner at Celia's Restaurant too. While I enjoyed my cheeseburger, I especially enjoyed the Smoked Mushroom taco (starter) and sweet potato side with lime yogurt and buckwheat (definitely highlights). It's definitely a place I will return to when I'm back in Amsterdam! Thank you to all!
Stephen (6/5): We enjoyed the stay and location was perfect. Housekeeping services cast a negative aspect on the st - We arrived early and room was ready. Staff at reception were pleasant. Daily cleaning of room. Occurred very late and one day not at all. I was going out at 1600 and a housekeeper on the floor said I should let the front desk know that room wasn’t cleaned she didn’t know who was responsible for it. I relayed the message and gentleman at the front desk said they had until 1800 to clean. I was aware but told him I was just passing along a message. Returned at 1755 and room not made up. Called to get clean towels which were brought up. At 1945 someone showed up to do room. Also, my daughter was on a sleep sofa and found a slipper and toothbrush under the bed which did not belong to us. I reported to front desk who did not seem to care.

Great location, right in the middle of everything, tons of restaurants close by, grocery around the corner and near Central Station. Staff is top notch and we appreciated the free umbrellas. And the signature scent, divine. Thanks for the take home sample, can’t wait to use it and remember our time here.

umicheric (8/5): Solid Hotel, Excellent Location - Great location right on the other side of the Damrak, Amsterdam’s bustling main avenue. This hotel is a quick five minute walk after you get off the train at Amsterdam Centraal, so you have a very easy connection from the airport or train lines. Service is straightforward and friendly. The rooms themselves are very nicely functional, clean, and designed simply with fun nods to Dutch culture. There is an afternoon happy hour where beers and soft drinks are served complimentary to guests. Overall, I found this to be an excellent home base in Amsterdam and I would stay here again gladly.
ScotonAlderney (10/5): A superb hotel - We had this hotel booked through our travel agent and yet it proved to be one of the best places we ever stayed. He had a premium bump above the bar. It was large, spacious and had a well appointed bathroom shower. We were amazed at the tiles on the walls and the floor! The bed was wide and comfortable and the pillows were awesomely comfortable. We both slept very well. Breakfast was part of the package and there was a wide spread a variety of food for all tastes in Celia‘s restaurant. From serials to muesli to fruit to yoghurt to a cooked breakfast cheese and ham. The list went on and on. Fabulous and engaging reception staff with a shout out to Georgia. And in the Restaurant Lulu. The concierge Service could not have been more helpful booking meals and assisting in every way. Truly a memorable visit and well worth the money paid.

So all night, I heard other guests on the landing, on their phones, closing doors etc!!! + the guest in the room above me, kept closing draws, doors loudly etc!!! The disruption was that bad, I only stayed one night!!! instead of the two that were booked!!!

We didn’t have breakfast included so we skipped it but another friend stayed on a cash rate and did have breakfast included and said it was fantastic. The rooms were spacious, modern, and well appointed. Bed was so comfortable. Extremely quiet zero street noise. Location was perfect for both walking and tram/ train. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Infused water in the lobby was delicious! Absolutely recommend staying here

MrBLancaster (10/5): I would stay here again! - Everything about this hotel is excellent. It benefits from having plenty of staff, including at least four on the front desk. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very polite and helpful. The restaurant, or breakfast area is very well run and there are plenty of options. My room was spacious, spotless and overlooking a courtyard, so there was no traffic noise. I hope to stay here again someday!

Ich bin mit meinem Hund angereist und gemerkt, dass Hunde nicht einfach nur toleriert werden, sondern genauso willkommen sind wie die Menschen. Die Lage des Hotels war ebenfalls perfekt und sehr zentral. Wirklich toll für einen Städte- oder Business Trip! Das Zimmer war nur halbwegs sauber. In der Dusche klebten Barthaare an der Wand und auf dem Tisch gab es klebrige Flecken. Der Rest war sauber.

Ecw20191 (4/5): Nice hotel but the worst check in experience ruined the start of our holiday - Despite the fantastic location and nice room, we had the worst check in experience when an inexperienced staff member incorrectly told us it would not be possible to check in due to my forename being different on my IHG account, despite having the booking confirmation. When I began to panic at the thought of being stranded in Amsterdam the staff member changed her mind about the name and also decided then not to consult a manager like we asked her to. It was a strange and upsetting way for a staff member checking you in to behave and it ruined the start of our holiday.

Tv internazionale con canale Rai 1. Possibilità di poter fare colazione a la carte sia presso il ristorante Celia sia presso il bar interno Celia Cafe. Fatta la premessa che ci siamo trovati bene e che ci ritorneremmo, migliorerei il riassetto generale con la pulizia della camera, che per essere un hotel cinque stelle farei in maniera più approfondita e curata. Letto alla francese.

olivedarcy (10/5): Great stay in Amsterdam! - My husband and I had a 4 night stay at the Kimpton De Witt in September 2025, booking a King Premium Street view room. Spending the extra money on a larger room was certainly expensive but we felt well worth it. We arrived early in the morning off a flight all the way from Australia, looking greasy and haggard and we were immediately presented with bottled water by a very cheery friendly person on reception. They allowed us to check in early and therefore shower away our long flight so we were really happy about this. The room was very comfortable, sizable (compared to the base room types), although a bit of an awkward shape with the entry being a L shape hallway. The bathroom was funky and large and everything worked well. I did have to leave a note for housekeeping as the large bottle of body wash in the shower had a broken pump, this was fixed nicely but should have been noted before I had to say something about it. This was the only hiccup. The view from the room of the street was appreciated and it was not too noisy despite the room being street facing. The teabags in the room were of a nice quality and when we phoned the front desk to request more tea/UHT milk, they delivered a huge bag of them which was great! We did not eat at the hotel or experience the hotel breakfast so cannot comment on this. We would have had a drink in the hotel bar, but it was closed on 2 of the 4 nights we were there (closed Monday and Tuesdays). Location was fabulous, a short walk with suitcases from Amsterdam Centraal was very convenient, as are the tram stops out the front of the hotel. To be honest we didn't really hang out in the area, opting to walk to Jordaan or take a tram somewhere else to eat and shop. The Centraal area is very touristy and a bit grubby, and there are many more amazing restaurants, cafes and shopping in other areas.

Marieke (10/5): Een fantastisch verblijf met een grote kamer, supervriendelijk personeel, vroeger kunnen inchecken en een leuke extra zo - De kamer was zeer ruim en comfortabel. We mochten ook vroeger inchecken, wat een heel aangename verrassing was. Het personeel was uitzonderlijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We zijn nog nooit zo goed ontvangen geweest. Ook het gratis wijnuurtje van 16u tot 17u was een heel leuke extra. Het enige kleine minpunt was dat het raam in de kamer niet open kon om even te verluchten.

So my things like museums, restaurants and other landmarks were a 7-10 min walk from the hotel. Staff were incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Food and drinks at Celia were delicious. Took a canal tour via the hotel boat and it was v fun and informative. A great hotel and one I would without hesitation stay at again,

SJ118 (10/5): A perfect stay- amazing staff - This was an excellent choice for a long weekend. Literally five minutes from the central station and about the same to Dam Square. Hotel spotlessly clean and good air conditioning. The Super Lyan bar has brilliant cocktails and friendly staff and we enjoyed the excellent breakfast too- smoked salmon and yoghurt in particular were very high quality. But particular thanks to the superb front desk staff who were all friendly and knowledgeable especially Betina and Rafaella who sorted out a later checkout time when Eurostar cancelled my train . Always smiling and happy to help - and it felt that every single member of staff we encountered wanted us to enjoy our stay as much as possible. A true gem and I will be back soon

Svenja (10/5): Nettes Personal, gute Lage und super tierfreundlich - Die Unterkunft ist sehr charmant eingerichtet und hat eine gute Lage zur Innenstadt. Am meisten hat uns gefreut, wie tierfreundlich das Personal war. Unser kleiner Dackel wurde herzlich begrüßt und hat auf unserem Zimmer eine kleine Ausstattung bekommen, was total aufmerksam war ! :) Wir kommen sehr sehr gerne hier wieder hin !
