Il lavandino del bagno assolutamente scomodo e non funzionale (si direbbe, un "dorato trabiccolo"), come del resto l'ambiente w-c/doccia, un tutt'uno in un insolito abbinamento. In generale, il tutto è inutilmente kitsch (non apportano valore aggiunto il copricartaigieneica e lo scopettino dorato! La finezza sta in altri particolari!). La pulizia è approssimativa (capelli e batuffoli di polvere sotto il letto). La spa non funzionava. Ci sono hotel a 4 stelle decisamente migliori.
- Danielle (10/5): - I was very impressed with the New Hotel. It is a very nice boutique hotel with very cool style. We stayed here for only two nights and unfortunately did not have time to make use of the amenities or visit the restaurants. The room itself was small but very nice. My only complaint was it could have used more counter space by the bathroom. In particular, the service stood out to me. The doorman and front desk staff were lovely every time we interacted with them. The location is excellent and was walkable to everything. Overall, I would say the value for the money is excellent. Having stayed here and at a more expensive hotel in Athens in the same week I definitely think New Hotel was more worthwhile.

The rooftop terrace is a must for drinks and views of the acropolis. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Our kids didn’t love the frosted glass walls for the bathroom, but otherwise it was perfect for our family.

- 424lylez (10/5): Clean and comfortable in a great location! - We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the Acropolis and other historic sites. It is also near Mitropoleos Street, with it's restaurants and lively activities, especially down near Monastiraki Square. The staff was attentive and helpful with obtaining tickets to the Acropolis and local transportation. Our room was small but adequate. It was clean and nicely decorated in an eclectic style, and it had a wonderful room-darkening shade system. It had only one chair-- a wooden one. Shower and toilet were separated from the sink area by a door. Breakfast, like most things in Athens, was expensive. We would stay here again.
- BLLDJO (10/5): Great hotel in excellent location - Family of 4 stayed for 3 nights for Athens leg of our Greek vacation. The hotel is perfectly located for the metro to airport and all the Athens activities. We found the staff very friendly, the rooftop restaurant great for lunch and late night cocktails, and the rooms very comfortable. A perfect option for a few days in Athens.

- gottohavecoffee (4/5): A let down - The room is too small, from the closet space that has only 4 hungers to the room that has only 1 small chair and little desk space. The bedding quality is average, from the pillows to the mattress. Soundproofing is poor, the noise from the street is noticeable at night. Breakfast is basic, nothing bad, nothing to rave about - basically, the usual eggs, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, yogurt. The staff and the location are good. Overall, the hotel offers a poor value for the money. I will visit Athens again, I will definitely stay at another hotel.

The staff were friendly and service was efficient. We had dinner in the Rooftop restaurant which was delicious. Coffee and cocktails with a great view of the Acropolis at the rooftop bar was a highlight Highly recommended this hotel if you are in Athens

- Hala (7/5): Good - We loved how cool the hotel is, and how much attention to detail there is in the design - loved the location, the comfortable bed, the staff was lovely, nice bar and views. The hotel is super beautiful but they forgot key ergonomic details or day to day comfort; I could barely see in the bathroom when doing my makeup, there was a magnifying mirror but hte light was not turning on (dead battery), there wasn't a cabinet to put my things in, so i left them on the floor, there wasn't cotton pads or qtips or any of the amenities - you had to call to ask for bath mats or anything else you needed. there wasn't a kettle in the room, and i had to ask daily to have enough coffee capsules and tea sachets. they changed teh temperature and settings of the aircon every day, which was really annoying too. the TV wasn't a smart TV, we spent hours trying to watch anything or pair it with our netflix/disney plus, and failed, then had to rent very old and bad movie for 8€. as we were not happy with that, the hotel did give us a discount, but that's not the point, when one goes on a nice weekend and treats themselves to a nicer hotel, they want these bits to be flawless.
- Andrew (7/5): Nice enough but the cost of this hotel isn't reflected in the quality making it feel like bad value. - Excellent location for the main tourist areas and restaurants, a short walk from Syntagma Metro. The beds are very comfortable. Staff helpful and pleasant. Small gym in basement which has all the basic equipment Weird room layout and areas of style over substance (what is going on with the light switches??) Location means it is a bit noisy but probably as you'd expect in a city. Food and drinks at the hotel are far too expensive. Felt overpriced for what it was
- 330daliaf (2/5): Overpriced $$$ - Only thing good about this hotel is the rooftop view. We decided to dine at the rooftop restaurant. Way overpriced and the food is average. Ate better elsewhere at 5* star restaurants for Half the price they charge us here. $275 for 4-drinks and few appetizers!!!

- 251adelac (10/5): New Hotel Stay on visit to Athens. - I am giving this hotel 5 star due to the ease of walking to the Plaka, the Acropolis Museum and potentially the Acropolis. While I (76 y.o. out-of-shape senior) did not walk TO the Acropolis, I did walk (down hill) FROM the Acropolis to the Acropolis Museum for a tour and then through the Plaka back to the New Hotel. The following day we back tracked our walk to revisit the museum gift shop and then back through the Plaka for some last minute souvenir shopping. I do suggest you look at the pictures of the New Hotel. My guidebook, Eyewitness, Top 10 Athens, listed it under Boutique and Design Hotels and describes it as having "quirky recycled furniture". I am the type that has to straighten crooked pictures so I did find the hotel a bit unsettling. In spite of that, it was convenient to places my friend and I wanted to visit and close to the Lliada Cafe. Our room was also " quirky". The sink mirror had a smokey finish to it that made it hard to use for applying makeup but the desk does have a pop up mirror with a great light. The wall of our shower on our post cruise stay was a frosted glass that could reveal a bit more about my friend than I wanted to know. We did spend time on the attached balcony to relax and enjoy a cool drink or take out snacks. Overall, it was a good stay and a good end to our trip. The quirky travelers will love this hotel!! P.S. The Acropolis is located on the top of a hill and parking is at the base of the hill. If Athens or Greece is on your bucket list, think about going while you can still handle uneven ground and multiple steps. I am 4 feet 11 inches tall with short legs. 10 years ago on my first trip to the Acropolis, I remember it was still hard and very hot with minimal shade (June 2014). This trip I had difficulties on some of the steps that were higher and did not have hand rails. There are hand rails on the steeper parts of the walk up. Do not give up your dream to visit, but do not put it off too long!

- lisat465 (4/5): Lots of street noise and unhelpful check-in staff - I really wanted to like this hotel, but there were several things about it that I was not happy with. To begin with, I was with a small tour group and the this was the luxury tour company's last time to use New Hotel. So...I assume the hotel didn't care about me or the tour group and it showed. I arrived earlier than the official check in time by about 4 hours and was told I would need to wait for the room. Then, several other fellow tour participants arrived and one couple waited for an hour and was then told their room was ready. The man suggested I ask the front desk again about my room as I was still waiting and was very tired with jet lag. I asked the woman who assisted me at the front desk and she said in a very stern voice, "What did I already tell you?" Not exactly the polite, helpful response that typifies a 5 star hotel. I waited almost 4 hours for my room. In fact, it was almost the official check in time. My room was apparently one of the last ones to be cleaned and there was no effort whatsoever to try to get me into my room more quickly. My second big complaint was the noise from the street. I was on the first floor right next to the main street (yes, apparently I waited 4 hours for the worst room in the hotel!). I couldn't believe the noise from the main road - it was the worst I'd ever experienced in a hotel ---- and I frequently stay at hotels at Heathrow Airport. Someone else from our group was on the 2nd floor right above me and they had the very same experience. The breakfast was average but the service was below average - it was difficult to place an order for a cooked egg or get a cappuccino or a coffee. But apparently it was quite easy to drop off a check and leave a place for a tip. Positives about the hotel: the room itself was nicely appointed and the rooftop bar was lovely, although I understand there are many great hotel rooftop bars in Athens. Overall, I would absolutely not stay here again and I very much plan to return to Athens.

- Libby (9/5): overall we loved our stay - Breakfast was not included so we did not have it at the hotel prefer just to grab a coffee and tiropita from a bakery around the corner. The roof top experience was great. Lovely views of the city and great staff experience. The beds were so comfy I didn’t want to leave. A bit hard to change but the rooms are tiny! Two suitcases and two people makes it hard to swing the cat! It was at the high end of our accommodation costs during our 6 weeks away. Surprisingly Athens is now more expensive than Rome and Barcelona which is the reverse of previous holidays.
- Hannu (9/5): Superb - Excellent breakfast. The decorations in the hotel are amazing. Walls covered with old, crashed furniture or leather. Room is very modern, clean and quite functional.
