Guest Reviews
- Patty (8/5): - The check in was great, friendly people at the desk. Had trouble with the key. I left my glasses in the cab or airport and couldn't see the tiny arrow to slot it correctly. They were so good to me before during and after the many times we tried several keys. I stayed overnight and had to leave the next morning to meet my mother so I didn't speak of the key or the wet carpet and musty smell. Someone had left the window open and it rained in. They were gracious and gave me a nice room when I returned. It was also determined that the key card receptacle on the door had a low battery. I didn't see any roaches at all and it was basically clean for a Florida hotel that has seen tropical weather. The breakfast bar was sufficient and coffee and hot tea are available all day. I booked on Expedia and got a great rate and when I had to leave for the airport three days early because of the hurricane I was able to have the balance returned to my card that day.
- Joe (2/5): - Hotel smelled really bad when I walked in. I thought maybe something was wrong. In the front lobby. I went up The elevator and the lights on the elevator didn't work. So I wasn't sure if it was going to operate like it should. When I got to the fourth floor it smelled like weed. I opened my room and it smelled like mold, stale cigarettes. I called the front desk to complain and they said they would let the assistant manager know. Then I took a shower and after my shower with no hot water, I discovered that I had a wad of hair on my toe, not two or three hairs, but like thirty. Ewww. Call the front desk again same response. The bed seemed clean and was comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. There was a small fridge in the room and a microwave. I did not use, did not check them. No water pressure at all. Carpet seem dirty, dilapidated walls were bubbling underneath the paint. Not sure how they can keep a franchised called quality when there was absolutely no quality about it. I didn't want to stay a second night, but I had to. Don't do it, stay away, beware, beware beware. Breakfast was terrible, cereal watered down milk and water down juice, stale donuts.
- Verified traveler (2/5): TL;DR: DO NOT GO HERE. - I don't even know what to say. This place should not be open at all. My boyfriend found bugs in our bed and a bunch of our outlets didn't work. They let us switch rooms, but we ended up just going back to our original room because the bathroom in the new room looked like a crime scene. There wasn't even a shower curtain. It wasn't until we checked out (a full night early, we literally left at around 3am because we were that grossed out) that my boyfriend told me he'd also seen black mold in our bathroom. I didn't even bother complaining to the staff because, honestly, they've probably heard it all before and they can't do anything to fix the place. The owners/managers are the ones at fault.
- Christopher (4/5): - This property is past its prime, run down, and should be torn down. You can paint a pig, but to retrofit it into a Holiday Inn Express I think Choice Hotels should reconsider.
- jefferson (10/5): - Nice staffs
- victoria (10/5): Exceeded expectations - For a cheap overnight stay I was beyond impressed!! Room had a microwave AND fridge which is hard to find in more expensive hotels nowadays! Room was very large, spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. Will absolutely stay here again!
- Junior (6/5): - The property is too old
- Calvin (2/5): Horrible people - Spend one night there woke up with Mark on my body told dad bedbugs. They told me to refuse to switch my room. Worst service ever. Good luck to anyone else.
- Spencer Sean (4/5): - This was once a grand property...about 20 years ago. It is worn, shabby, and beaten.
The room itself was minimally clean, sheets appeared clean enough, and there was hot water. Thats it.
- Laura (8/5): - Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Building is dated and location is urban which was unknown to me prior.
- Jocelyn (6/5): - Staff should be in uniform.Maybe it was kind of unsafe looking in some of the rooms had no locks on the doors and most of the second floor was vacant and yet they gave me a room but two minus eight and eleven year olds to stay there I had to go back and ask them for another room
- Bobby (4/5): Pissed at Hotels.com - This stay was not the best I have booked with Hotels. Com
I booked 2 rooms but there was only 1 reserved by Hotels.com
The Hotel was helpful with booking another room, but should not have had to accommodate us.
- Rachael (8/5): Comfy - The room was clean and big, the bed super comfy. The stadf very polite. Yummy breakfast too.
My only complaint is i was unaware of the $100 deposit.
- Jessica Torres (8/5): - Pool area needs to be cleaned, overall everything else was Good! Will be booking in the future.
- Joel (6/5): - I found a roach in my room, the lamp wasn't working and didnt have light and even we spoke with the front desk and never took care of it, the check out suppost to be at 11am but the girl who cleans the hotel was knocking at 1020am saying i need to clean this room. I was like hell no .. wait until 11am then at 10:40 she knocked again and was mad now but i tokd her it suppost to be at 11am so stop and she left to the first floor
- Flor (8/5): - The best
- Katie (2/5): - .
- Roberto (6/5): - The rooms are so darknees
- Holly (2/5): thieves - holes in wall of bathroom fridge broken hallway smells like mold...on checkout i messed up i left a bag with a bunch of cash and there was a maid down the hall....she did let me know i left it but she helped herself to a hundred dollars i had to scramble to get to atm to still purchase inventory for my store manager could care less
- Katie (2/5): - .
- Alicia (10/5): - Light fixtures weren’t working. Didn’t smell very clean.
- Melissa (4/5): I’m website picture is deceiving - The pictures online do not add up to the in person view or stay. The hotel truly needs an update haul over from the entrance down the hallways. The elevator felt like a sauna on the inside. The room sink stops up if water runs too long. Toilet was homemade with a bigger water bowl on the back tub was very outdated. Paint peeling throughout the entire room. Curtains don’t close and a/c don’t cool off properly. A Father’s Day Weekend Disaster
- Juan (6/5): - The pool was dirt and the room
- Dandy A (6/5): - Lady in reception rudest.
- Priscila (2/5): - Old and dirty place, there were cockroaches in the room. Bad breakfast. Reception service with bad int. Swimming pool with abandoned area.
It's cheap, but the quality doesn't match the photos
- Juan (2/5): - This hotel need someone for assistance we only had 1 pro person working there it is the attendant that was around night time.
She’s friendly tried to help us on everything, she make this place a better place, but the manager was unfortunately not helpful look at everybody as judging and she look really angry all the time.
- Dylan (2/5): Avoid this hotel - The whole room was filthy and hallways reeked with odor and cigarettes. The bathroom was deteriorating and kept seeing bugs run throughout the bathroom. The carpeting was filthy that my boyfriends foot was so dirty when he walked across it barefooted. The breakfast cafe area had expired yogurt from last year!! I almost ate it until I read the date on the back. Cereal was super stale and we ended up going to Waffle House for breakfast instead. Each night sleeping was unbearable as the bed wasn’t comfortable and felt uncomfortable sleeping in a filthy room! The receptionist however was amazing! She was so kind and helpful as our room key didn’t work at all. Idk her name but she was really sweet and and had black hair and was African American! Huge shout out to her for her overall attitude despite being in a Grimm place. Avoid this hotel at all cost please!!
- Fernando (2/5): Terrible stay with bug roommates - The room was less than ideal, non-working coffee pot walls look like 10 year old patched and painted, roaches in room and woke up to wasps in the room. Woman who checked us in and out was not friendly and accused us of bringing in bugs when we complained.
- Donald (2/5): - This place is awful. The room was filthy. The floor had not been vacuumed, there were pieces of plastic and other debris on the floor. The shower was moldy, had cracks on the shower walls. There was a container cap for shampoo or something similar in both the sink and tub drains. The toilet had mold around the top of the bowl and along the bowl waterline where it had not been cleaned for some time.
The breakfast was a joke. The juice dispenser was out of order. All that was available was cold cereal and a few muffins. The buffet was unlike the photos, and which were clearly misleading. I went to another location for breakfast. It was a joke.
The hallways and entryway were not much better. Outside was trashy and unkept. There was a used needle in the hall to the ice machine. There were abandoned vehicles in the parking lot.
This was the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed in. The photos are a complete misrepresentation of what you get when you arrive.
There were indigents hanging around at the edge of the entrance and across the street.
Expedia should remove this location as an option. It is not a good example for them.
And for a Choice hotel, they should be ashamed.
The stay here has given me a negative impression of both Expedia and will be the last Choice hotel I stay in.
Too bad there is not a negative 5 star option. It's the best description of the place.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - The sheets were stained and dirty and it had roaches
- Damian (4/5): - Dirty room, dirty lobby, dirty elevators.
Disaster conditions for breaksfast, NO coffe, No juice.
- Gregory (2/5): Worse experience - The Hotel maintenance is far from the normal. The Free Continental breakfast didn’t have the most important thing, coffee, the machine was broken! Among other things and this was at 8:50am. I got a late check-out for up to 12pm but the cleaning lady started screaming at me at 9:30am as she wanted to clean the room. When we said we were having a late check-out, she said there are no late check outs. I’ve never been to such a bad Hotel in US!!
- jim (2/5): - 1, infested with cockroches. 2 lamp by beds did not work. 3 breakfast? No coffee, no juice, had waffles and cereal but no milk. Horrible
- Denise (4/5): - Toilet was wobbly. Front desk staff refused to check in early and waited until 3pm then had a line up which took her 1hr to check people in. Made people wait in lobby when clearly some rooms were ready.
- Jessica (2/5): Bugs Bugs Bugs!! - This hotel is disgusting..even worse is that they know it! I found two roaches crawling on the outside of the tub, then laid on the bed and within minutes had a bug crawl across my chest. I went to the front desk to let them know of the situation and to ask for a refund and check out. The lady at the front desk was not pleasant, and told me I had to try another room first before being able to get a refund. I told her after witnessing the overall state of cleanliness there I did not think another room would make a difference. She said "that's not necessarily true". Baffled by her response, I said "so you knowingly have some clean rooms and some dirty rooms yet you still rent out the dirty ones"? After a little back and forth I agreed to try another room. However they did not have another room equivalent to the room I had booked. She asked me to try one of the other rooms, to which I refused because my son and I each wanted our own bed, hence why I booked a two bed room. She then told me that hotels.com would have to submit a request for the refund to management for approval and that she's not sure it'll get approved since I "refused" to try another room. She then reminded me that I had a no cancellation reservation, to which I told her I was aware but I also thought that I had a no bug reservation and had they listed on their website they had bugs then I would have never made a reservation in the first place. She tried to downplay the situation by saying all hotels have bugs.
- Amanda (2/5): - Don’t stay here! Blood stains on curtains just horrible !
- kevin (6/5): - Good price. No lounge chairs in pool. Room we stayed in hadn’t been renovated in a long time. Continental breakfast was below average
- Verified traveler (4/5): In Need of an Update and Deep Clean - Needs an update. Shower was not clean. Room had a smell to it.
- Diana (2/5): - I don’t even know where to start. The overgrown gardens at the entrance with 3 foot high weeds? The smell of marijuana the minute I walked into the lobby? Or the door across from mine without a handle or a lock? I walked in, checked in, walked out, and slept on my daughter’s couch. Do not stay here!! Disgusting and unsafe. My rate was non-refundable, but there was no way I would stay there overnight.
- Kendra (2/5): - Staff was rude, the facility is dirty. Carpet smelled musty, there was hair in the shower. The place is not well maintained. You get what you pay for here, which is not much.
- Alexandra (4/5): - In addition to housekeeping asking us to leave prior to check out time, the room was incredibly dirty, there was cigarette smoke prevalent through the halls, there were bugs in the room (not bed bugs), the microwave was in the process of breaking, there was no ice vending machine and the gym was closed. Overall the hotel was very run down with lots of cracks, peeling paint, some rust. It is obvious they do not move anything in the room when cleaning as there was mold growth under the tv, food/garbage/dead cockroach behind the tv stand and a thick layer of dirt as well.
- Carlos (4/5): - Staff was friendly, property needs a lot of TLC, rooms need to be detailed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not recommended - I got there and found it very dirty. I used the restroom downstairs because I couldn’t check in a little early without paying an additional $25 fee. The downstairs restroom was disgusting. I ended up moving to another hotel and forgoing the money I paid.
- Dena (10/5): Wonderful for price - Clean and quiet in a great location in Winter Park. Beds are very comfortable, even compared to more expensive hotels.
- Rachel (6/5): OK - Comfortable bed. Quiet HVAC and frig. Windows had both shears and blackout curtains (which I like). Friendly staff. I had to call service to repair the toilet (slow drain, then it wouldn't flush) and the shower nozzle l was loose and leaky and barely worked. They immediately repaired them. The shower walls were poorly caulked and painted. The room chairs were stained, the lamp stand was rusty, furniture scraped. Breakfast had 0 protein. Awful coffee in the room and lobby. Most affordable hotel in the area.
- Brianna (10/5): Great hotel ! - I flew in from NY (12:30) and only needed a few hours to rest. Although check out was at 11am the front desk accommodated my time and gave me until 12pm to check out ! I liked the hotel
- Natalie (4/5): - Let me begin by saying every single staff member I encountered was amazing. Each were very kind and helpful.
The area was a little sketch. While I didn’t fear the possibility of a drive by or anything like that I didn’t feel completely safe either. The room itself was mostly clean. The bed wasn’t completely done. To be fair it looks like the housekeeper was almost done making it and got pulled away forgetting to come back? We had a king and pull out sofa bed clearly marked in the reservation that there would be 3 adults in the room - I would recommend making note in your reservation or calling the hotel to let them know you will be using the pull out sofa or you’ll end up having to go back down for sheets and pillows.
The door to our room was 1 layer away from being painted shut. I had to put full force into pushing the door open to get into our room.
- Brendan (2/5): Horrible visitors irritating employees - Lady a room down pooped continuously in the shower and had my room smelling bad and she was disruptive but I didn’t want to cause any other stress on the employees
- Greg (2/5): Worst hotel I stayed to - It was the worst hotel I been to the rooms looked real old refrigerator leaking water real bad. The bathroom is not up to par and not that clean. We do around the basement part of the Hot hotel so it wasn’t the best.
- Trevor (6/5): - Property was fine for two day quick stay for work.
- Marisabel (2/5): - Nasty,very dirty and no cleanup
- Verified traveler (2/5): Won't Stay Again - The main lobby is okay but once you go pass that you immediately notice the carperts and floors not clean and bad smell. The place is run down, chipped paint, bathtub and shower was very dirty and stained, I brought bleach and my own shower mat. Worst part they had roaches, I sprayed roach spray everyday, I walked passesd a large dead roach for 3 days before anyone cleaned it up, I could not wait for my stay to be over. Only okay part was the very nice staff, but I will not stay here again!
- Stephanie (2/5): This place should be condemned!!!! Do NOT BOOK!! - The place was awful. When you pull up there’s already a sign that tells you that they are not responsible for break-ins in your car or things stolen. The check-in area was dark clerk was nice enough. Immediately walking down the hallway to our room the halls were nasty the paint was chipped And we were put at the end of the hallway where we were right next to an outside emergency door. Upon entering the room, I noticed paint peeling off the walls. The windows had paint and chips and mold, and the top bed linens were stained and filthy the bedskirt had , some unidentifiable substance all over it, and we concluded that there was no way that we could actually stay and sleep there. There were unknown people walking outside the windows that were not part of the property, and we just generally felt very unsafe. We immediately went and checked out, told them that there was no way we could stay there. The clerk offered us another room and I thought to myself would you not have given me your best room and decided to leave. They refused to give us a refund and said there was a no cancellation policy. Wherefore we went and checked into a different hotel, and had a much better experience .
- Roosevelt (10/5): - It was clean and neat
- Nelda (6/5): - Door was not working, probably low batt, but got fixed. Cleaning people very friendly and nice.
- Javier (2/5): - T
- Matt (2/5): - The rooms were dirty and had bugs. Super not happy. Doors were scuffed up, bathroom door hardly closed and walls had damage.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Run down condition. Looks like a dump and it is. Single luggage cart had rubber gloves discarded on it.
Shower had 2 temperatures, boiling or freezing. No hangers in the closet. Fridge had no shelves and was completely frozen over. Caulk spilled all over the bathroom. No place to plug in anything unless you unplugged the lamp, which flickered anyway.
Paint on the walls was slap dash and mismatched color.
We should have slept in the car, it was just gross.
- Nestor (6/5): - Walking distance from winter park mall, and more
- Lisa (2/5): - The property advertised jacuzzi tub. This was not available. When I went up to the room tub was moldy. I checked out and went elsewhere. I never got my refund. Booked through Expedia and property told me they did advertise the jacuzzi tub. Expedia was asked to stop advertising the tubs by the property
- Eder (2/5): - Terrible
- Mark (10/5): Good location in Orlando - So this place just needs a little refresh, just some normal maintenance items, Beds are comfortable and room was clean
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not so good. They have a real bad case of roaches. Real run down. Not a real good selection of breakfast.
- Diane (10/5): - We are looking forward to returning.
- Víctor (2/5): No recomendado 👎 - Saludos!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was a lot of roaches in the room, there's not a lot of lighting in the room and the shower wasn't really working
- Sarah (4/5): - Very run down, low end property. Large hotel, wasn’t full, but put us in a first floor room looking into the parking lot, next to the ice machine. Breakfast was nothing but dry cereal, stale muffins, and a waffle machine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Framboise - Good location - large room -
Not working refrigerator - no shelves
Breakfast is medium - limited choices - make your own waffle - no bread, jams - good coffee
- Catherine A (6/5): - Arrived very late early morning. Service good. When asked for a later check out not reasonable.
- Christopher (8/5): - Good location in terms of access. Price was good. Building and rooms suffered from deferred maintenance (e.g. 1 out of 3 machines in work-out center were functional; metal fixtures were corroded). Staff was friendly. Room and building interior were clean.
- RICHARD (2/5): - Hotel in terrible condition. Needs paint, carpet , updating and more professional staff.
- Jeremy (4/5): - Staff was very nice, place was in serious need of maintenance. Toilet barely flushed, hardly no water pressure. Pool looked dirty so didn’t even attempt to swim.
- Marvin (8/5): - Liked the price. Convenient to where I wanted to go. Room large, quiet, bed comfortable. Did not like breakfast - minimal quality and offerings. Also, room key did not work both days - had to go back to lobby (long walk) to get it rekeyed to work.
- Lotetta (4/5): - This property needs to be upgraded. Peeling paint, rusty hardware, broken appliances and this was all in my room.
- Ernest (2/5): - Area of town
- Angela (4/5): Not the greatest place to stay - Would have preferred a nicer place but i didnt do my research
- Brian (2/5): - The second I pulled into the parking lot I realized what a mistake I had made.
Frankly I should have known something was wrong w/ a rate of $118 tax per night when everything else was $335 - $385 / Night
The place looked like an unsafe dump.
I immediately pulled out and began looking f/ a nicer place to spend the night
- Sarita G. (4/5): - I found cockroach in the bathroom
- Ebert (8/5): - I don’t like the bathroom
- Mike (4/5): Quality Disappointed - Front desk not friendly. We needed handicap room of which we got . But had to walk a long ramp to get to 1st floor and then room was the 2nd one from a long hallway.
The room smells. Fridge had not been cleaned. We had to plug in lights, clock. Which was all on a electrical bar with way to
many to o plug in. At check out told front desk and the had no comment and not even a so sorry, will let maintenance know. 😢😔
- Sally (2/5): - This was the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Parking lot filled with trash. No safe place to park. Security walked in and went back to a room never to be seen again! Room had mold in the toilet and shower. Refrigerator plugged in by an extension cord, not cold enough to put any thing in it. Curtains would not close all the way. Guest services at front desk rude.
- Marc (10/5): - The hotel is located very conveniently for my needs, and is quite inexpensive. I don't need much in the way of services, just the bed, which was quite comfortable. I've had some problems with the physical plant - difficult door locks, curtains which don't close properly, but those are minor inconveniences. I'll certainly stay here again.
- Michael (10/5): - Outside could use some attention
- george (10/5): - I was a bit surprised by all the negative reviews on this place. The building is old but effort to keep it up has been made. Our room was clean and everything worked. The manager was very nice and recommended a great place for dinner. Their rates were pretty damn good. You can’t argue with that.
- Danaisys (2/5): - Todo muy sucio ,peste
- Migdalia (2/5): Nightmare - Room was not very clean, I killed several roaches, there was a musty smell in the room, the refrigerator cabinet was falling apart causing the refrigerator rock back and forth, I did not receive housekeeping service at any time during my stay and had to request clean towels which were not delivered to the room and ended up going to the front desk to ask again and wait for them, if that was not enough they changed my credit card an extra 100.00 dollars which I am disputing to get is back because they were not to charge me anything other than what I had already paid them
- John (6/5): - The staff was very accommodating & friendly. Morning continental breakfast was good. The room was very out dated, old furniture in need of repair. The bathroom was clean but in terrible condition.
- Gabriel (2/5): - This is a bad hotel is dirty everywhere is smelly the hot tub and the shower had hairs I stood one night and checked out early the breakfast was depressing they had no variety only cereal and sweated bakery stuff wrapped in plastic It was the worst experience so far
- Bill (8/5): - Access from Lee Road from only one direction. Clean rooms, comfortable bed. Breakfast earlier would have been nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cockroaches in the Bathroom - The bathroom smells cockroaches. Corners are rotted, bathtub corners need sealing, found cockroaches.
I checked in on 12/10/23 Rm. 25
- Jason (4/5): - Worker left their shift early so there was no one to check me in
I waited over 2 hours to check in
- Daisy (8/5): - The room its big and conform
- Brittany-Alana (2/5): - This hotel is gross. My bathroom was disgusting and I asked to get a different room. However, my new room had blood stains on the pillow. To top it off, the elevator had roaches.
- Darrin (8/5): - Problem with the check in
- Andrew (2/5): - The night time staff was rude and not helpful and just basically brushed off the matter of the roaches I told them. Went to get ice and found roaches in the ice machine. The room was roach infested. The first room had roaches and fridge was broke. We then had to transfer rooms and that room had roaches too! This place is not recommended at all! Horrible! They don't deserve even a 1 star but can't put no stars unfortunately!
- Randall (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and courteous. Hotel was clean but could use a coat of paint.
- Alessandro (4/5): - worst shower I've seen in my life, room smells bad, the receptionist told me the wrong breakfast time and I missed breakfast
- Wilbert (6/5): - My remote was sticky. Felt like this was the type of hotel you hire a hitman at...
- Neal (4/5): - Everything in my room was dirty. The fridge, the tub, curtains, chairs, phone - all were dirty. Also, the toilet seat was broken. Not much to like here. Even the free breakfast lacked a lot. No scrambled eggs, equipment for making waffles/pancakes were filthy. There were bugs in the bathroom.
I'll never stay here again. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I'm 65. I've been to a few.
