- SparklesBA (10/5): Old school excellence with a modern twist. - From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, the hotel was superb!. Located in downtown LA, it's a perfect base to explore with a free bus service just up the road to the outlet malls (which were well worth the trip) to a short walk to 7th/Metro subway station to reach Universal and Santa Monica. The atmosphere in the hotel was calm and subdued with a great bar for relaxing in at the end of a busy exploring day. Rooms were exceptional with a huge bathroom, Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, a big wardrobe and tea/coffee facilities with a mini fridge. The general areas of the hotel were spotless and gave a 20's oppulent vibe in the corridors. Reception and door staff were naturally friendly (not forced) and took interest in your plans without being overbearing or intrusive. The reception had a small shop with key essentials, soft drinks and snacks which was really handy. One of the best parts was the proximity to the Dalian bakery - one word - DIVINE. The perfect base for anyone exploring Los Angeles and the surrounding areas

- kmb5623 (10/5): A Downtown Hidden Gem! - What a hidden gem in downtown Los Angeles! I attend events frequently at the Biltmore Hotel, but I much prefer to stay at Hilton Checkers. It’s right across the street from the Biltmore, Pershing Square, and there are great restaurants and bars right around the corner- so it’s a very convenient location. The rooms have been renovated within the last 10 years, so it’s always a clean and comfortable stay. I’ll admit the parking situation isn’t great (you have to valet, and the valet team could use some improvement in efficiency), but that can’t be helped much when staying downtown. The food in the 1927 restaurant is very tasty, and throughout my multiple stays I’ve had warm and friendly encounters with the hotel staff. An excellent hotel if you need to stay downtown!

Could do with providing a smoking area as you have to hang out on the street with all the hobos. Coffee maker in the room which was good. - AlliJ (6/5): Tiny rooms and ridiculous fees - I stay here pretty regularly because I travel to downtown LA for work. The rooms are quieter than the standard downtown LA hotels and the staff is always friendly. That said the standard rooms can be ridiculously tiny and are definitely not set up for work. I might be willing to forgive that but their fees are why I am not giving a better rating. Having a $10 food and beverage credit is ridiculous when the cheapest item on the breakfast menu Is $22. And how many people are using a dry cleaning credit? Just increase the room rates and stop being cute.
- Pinar (8/5): Guter Konfort, Lage gut. - Das Hotel macht insgesamt einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck und vermittelt bereits beim Betreten der Lobby einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Auch der angenehme Duft im ganzen Haus trägt zu einem positiven ersten Eindruck bei. Die Zimmer sind von der Größe her absolut in Ordnung. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das äußerst bequeme Bett – ich habe wirklich sehr gut geschlafen. Auch das Badezimmer war sauber und völlig in Ordnung. Praktisch ist, dass Shampoo, Lotion und Conditioner bereitgestellt werden. Zudem gibt es einen kleinen Kühlschrank sowie eine Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer, was den Aufenthalt noch komfortabler macht. Das Frühstück haben wir nicht gebucht, da es im Nachhinein recht teuer wirkte. Daher kann ich dazu keine Bewertung abgeben. Positiv ist außerdem der vorhandene Fitnessbereich. Als nette Aufmerksamkeit erhält man beim Check-in zwei Flaschen Wasser, was ich sehr angenehm fand. Für Reisende mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist das Hotel gut angebunden. Vom Flughafen aus ist es relativ leicht zu erreichen – man muss lediglich zweimal umsteigen, und direkt vor dem Hotel befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle. Von dort aus kommt man auch problemlos wieder zurück zum Flughafen. Insgesamt ein angenehmer Aufenthalt mit gutem Komfort.

- alfonzos641 (8/5): No Microwave - The hotel met my general expectations for a Hilton property. It was clean, and the staff were professional and friendly. However, my stay was overshadowed by the lack of basic amenities that I expect at a Hilton. My biggest disappointment was the absence of a microwave anywhere in the building for guest use. When I asked the front desk if there was a microwave available, I was told there was not. When I expressed my surprise, the staff member simply chuckled. While downtown Los Angeles has many great dining options, don’t expect to warm up leftovers or takeout food. This is especially inconvenient for families. I understand that the restaurant has to make a profit, but I do not think that should supersede guest services. Additionally, one of the two elevators was out of service for most of our stay, which caused noticeable wait times during peak hours. We had an early morning flight and left the hotel around 6:00 a.m. At that time, there was no coffee available, neither complimentary nor for purchase, which was another disappointment. I am accustomed to Hilton properties having complimentary coffee in the hotel lobby. Housekeeping also provided only one towel and one washcloth per person per day. I do not like reusing the same towel and washcloth from a previous shower, and this felt inadequate for a hotel at this price point. I typically choose Hilton brands for both personal and business travel whenever possible. However, I would never intentionally book a hotel that does not provide a microwave for guest use. I am used to hotels not having a microwave in the room; however, this is my first time staying at a property that does not have a microwave for guest use. Going forward, I will call each property before booking to confirm this basic amenity. On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location for exploring downtown Los Angeles and is just a short subway ride from Hollywood Boulevard and other attractions. While Uber is available, it is expensive compared to the subway, which is also faster due to traffic.

- 994edsb (10/5): Our stay was excellent and exceptional. - My 80 years old mother had a wonderful stay at Hilton Checkers LA last October 2025. Our stay was excellent. From the valet person to the front desk people are very professional and accommodating. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and their General Manager was amazing. She gave to us her full attention to all our needs and she made an extra mile to make my 80 years old mother enjoy the view from the hotel. The service is exceptional. I will highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

- justintP9572TK (4/5): The staff are the main problem - I would avoid. The hotel hard product is fine, reasonable downtown location and the rooms are standard Hilton quality. However my issue is with the staff. Ranging from indifferent to rude. This occurred both on check in and check out. The thing that annoyed me the most is they refused to store my bag until 3pm after checkout. I’ve literally never had a hotel anywhere in the world refuse this, least of all an “upmarket” Hilton in the US. They complained about storage spaxe but I only had a carry on bag. I reminded them I was a diamond member and was told “those perks are subject to availability”. I replied saying luggage storage is not a perk.

Das Personal ist größtenteils sehr freundlich und bemüht. Das Badezimmer war sehr groß und gepflegt, wenn auch der Wasserdruck etwas zu wünschen übrig ließ. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und auch die restliche Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wenn ich in einer Buchung zwei Zimmer buche und das Wochen im voraus, dann möchte ich diese beiden Zimmer wenigstens auf derselben Etage beziehen und nicht quer durchs Hotel rennen müssen, um meine Familie zu finden. Außerdem ist kontaktloses Bezahlen nicht möglich - und das in einem Land, das kaum mehr mit Bargeld arbeitet und das eines der ersten überhaupt war, das die Kreditkarte einführte, da versteht man schon die Welt nicht mehr 🙈

However, they had some things in disrepair (eg some gym equipment) and also hit me with unexpected fees upon check-in. For example, a $30 destination fee for everyone and also they charged a $35 early check-in fee even though I'm Hilton Honors Gold member (this has been waived elsewhere). When I add up additional charges the hotel wasn't worth it. I won't return, there are better options with more value around. It's LA, after all.

There isn't a very welcoming feeling from the hotel staff, specifically front desk staff. We couldn't figure out why there was not a bartender at the hotel bar or why the restaurant wasn't opened. When I finally asked, I was told food and drinks were available on the rooftop. This wasn't mentioned at check in. Ok view from rooftop bar. You will be charged $100 a night for incidentals and a $30 fee that I am guessing is some type of resort fee. The $30 fee wasn't explained very well at check in. It wouldn't be a big deal if there was more going on at the hotel. I am a Hilton Diamond member. I have stayed at many Hilton properties , so far this isn't a property I wouldn't recommend.

The check-in process was okay nothing exciting Staff here is a mix of helpful and unhelpful. Been quite a disappointing stay to be honest. They don’t provide water bottles by the bedside, which is a most common and courteous thing in every hotel that We have stayed in. You have to ask for water every day to be provided in your room, which is quite silly. There is nothing wow factor about the hotel from checking in to checking out,they could not even help my wife bring her bags down. They didn’t have anybody available,We stayed there for nine nights. So it’s quite sad to see a hotel asking a lady to bring two large suitcases down from the sixth floor on their own without any help from the front desk. I could have stayed in Travelodge and got better service. The security is quite helpful for the time I was there for four nights. My wife stayed for an extra five nights here with some other business to attend to. She found the experience quite awful at the hotel So unfortunately it’s a mere two star rating from us. This hotel does not deserve the name of the Hilton badge at all. If anybody in management of Hilton is reading this, please take notes and do something about it. For loyal customers like myself who always return to the same brand all the time it’s very disappointing to have to be let down like this However the rooftop seating area was lovely to chill in thou could still do with improvements like providing drinks etc.

Or possibly missed the part about the cost when booking, that is customer service. The hotel is great, beautiful and comfortable. Just be clearer about the extra fees

I was sitting in the lobby trying to get in my room when they told me no refund for a late cancel. It's small and dirty and there was a homeless man peeing on the wall when we pulled up please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Hilton Checkers Los Angeles is by far the worst Hilton property. Major issues with customer service and food. Only writing this review as the Supervisor, Zaira never followed up with the GM and therefore, I never received a call from the GM as requested by me. Reservation stay: July 18-20, 2025. Issues: 1) Rude front desk lady at check-in: - wife requested early check-in at 2:30pm; front desk lady said "just because the app says your room is ready, doesn't mean you will get it early". - "where is your husband"? My wife told her I was at the hospital and she said "your husband needs to be here for check-in". My wife was noted as an additional guest for the reservation. - front desk lady then decides to remove husband from the reservation (removed reservation from my Hilton app) Resulting in... - wife had to setup a HHONORS account to get wi-fi in the room - required husband to call for the receipt after the stay since husband was removed - required husband to call the Hilton Diamond desk to earn points (30 minute call) as they could not find a reservation under my Diamond number due to the front desk lady removing husband. 2) An empty hotel with terrible food and major customer service issues. Lastly, we stayed at the Conrad LA the days prior to checking in at Hilton Checkers LA. Let me tell you - the Conrad LA has impeccable service, food and rooms - always asking us about our stay and if they can make it better. A far cry from the dump down the hill (Hilton Checkers). I would rather stay at a Motel 6 than the lousy Hilton Checkers LA.

- marycJ5885HH (10/5): We are Back and Loving It. - We just love Hilton Checkers. It seems to get better every time we stay. Reservations are super easy and the front desk staff, well, all the staff is wonderful. All the rooms are so pretty, not huge, but perfect for the 3 of us. We often stay when there is something we need to do in Downtown LA. Instead of the hassle of driving home, we just check in. The prices are high, but fair for such a great place. They also have an eatery with great food. Have the best time in LA. Oh, don't walk around there at night alone.

No water was offered at check in....They put me at end of hall with bad knee. I asked for extra washcloths, they didn't respond or reply... I won't be back. Going to Hotel Figueroa or Sheraton
