From the moment we arrived, every single staff member went above and beyond — check-in was seamless and genuinely welcoming, the bell staff was attentive and kind, and even the spa attendants made us feel completely cared for. Anyone we encountered went above and beyond their duties. It’s rare to experience this level of consistent friendliness and professionalism from top to bottom. The team clearly takes pride in creating a personal, elegant, and effortless guest experience. Beautiful hotel, but the people are what truly made the stay memorable. Bravo to the entire staff 👏✨

We came to Amsterdam to celebrate our anniversary and the inclusion of Suzanne Perlman's art at the Singer Museum. Where do we start, so many charming members of staff, Lukas and Daan took such good care of us as did Alyssa, Alexia and Rob and Jordan. Our favourite Restaurant Manager Costas who looked after us when we celebrated an earlier Anniversary 30 years ago remembered us and we him! Costas a charming waiter so so many wonderful people working here, always cheerful, smiling, attentive and so quick to help. Thank you De L'Europe for making it such a special trip.

I also felt that our receptionist, Julian, went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. He even found my luggage that was lost at the airport. He is what you call 5 star service. I will be back and a big part of why is Julian and Jordan.

- marycontheroad (10/5): The Best Hotel in Amsterdam - We've been staying at De l'Europe for nearly twenty years. It's changed, but it's still marvellous, and the location can't be beat. Most rooms have a view of the Muntplein or Amstel. Brasserie Marie is excellent for Sunday lunch. Freddy's/Chapter 1896 are fabulous bars. Excellent breakfast. Lovely public rooms. Sweet little pool and gym. Spa (but have never used it) There is a restaurant with two Michelin stars that we have never tried. There are lots of great inexpensive restaurants nearby. Lumbini just across the river offers fabulous Indian and Nepalese cuisine. China Sichuan, just a fifteen min. walk, offers superb food in a humble setting. Indrapura on Rembrandtplein offers a rijsttafel as well as an a la carte menu. Do not be put off by the touristy location: the food is excellent and the service very kind. If you can afford it, the De L'Europe is the only place to stay in Amsterdam. Absolutely value for money. Over twenty years, things sometimes went wrong, but de l'Europe immediately made it better. We will keep going back.

The concierge is by far one of the best I have ever worked with. They helped me plan an incredible stay, from private canal diner cruise to private guides for the museums and excursions -truly first class. The culture is very healthy and strong evidenced by every employee being happy and genuinely concerned for the guests. An unforgettable, amazing stay!

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out Jordan in particular was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and delivered truly top-tier hospitality. The hotel itself offers multiple dining options, which was a huge plus being able to enjoy different cuisines without leaving the property added so much ease to our stay. Our junior suite overlooking the canal was beautiful, and the location is unbeatable right in the heart of the city while still feeling refined and comfortable. The bedding was also a highlight: the down pillows, comforter, and mattress struck the perfect balance firm but very comfortable, which made for excellent sleep. Overall, this is a hotel that delivers both luxury and warmth. We would absolutely stay here again.

We checked in at around 11 am and the room was ready within 2 hours, well before 3. They provided nice water resistant jackets that were so fitting. The doorman Jordan is so sweet and funny. Definitely someone to chat with if you have the chance. We only stayed for one night, but wish we stayed for more!

All the other concierges we had the pleasure to meet were extraordinary as well. Maria, our butler, was so personable and gracious, her smile lighting up the room. Everyone else we ran into was very pleasant and accommodating, including, of course, the doormen. Your staff is one of best we've ever come across in our travels. I think the biggest difference is that they are not pretentious at all and you feel like they're your best friends immediately. I will always remember my stay here and hope to be back. P.S. However, I must say with complete honesty that De L’Europe stands several levels above them all. The building itself is stunning — beautifully scented, impeccably clean, with fresh flowers in the lobby and magnificent artwork that creates a truly special atmosphere. But believe me when I say that the real magic comes from the people. I genuinely felt at home. Nothing is ever a problem here — the staff go above and beyond in every possible way. If something isn’t working or doesn’t suit you, they will always find a way to make you happy. From the welcome drink upon arrival, to thoughtful handwritten notes, unexpected calls from reception to check if everything is perfect, turndown service, a complimentary room upgrade, or even water prepared for your journey — every detail is handled with care. The staff are incredibly professional and sincerely attentive — they truly care about you as a guest. This hotel is, without exaggeration, a little paradise on earth. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully fragrant. The bathrooms are elegant, with Diptyque amenities and a Dyson hairdryer as the perfect finishing touch. Breakfast was absolutely exceptional — delicious, fresh, and of the highest quality. The team at Marie restaurant was equally outstanding — Anne, Isabel, and Manuel were wonderful, and I always looked forward to seeing them in the morning and having a chat. I wish everyone could experience, at least once in their life, what it feels like to be welcomed at the entrance with a warm smile by Jordan, who opens the door for you. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Truly, a boutique luxury 5 star experience! A special thank you to Sabrina (concierge) for her incredible suggestions & support—she is wonderful! Jordan, truly went above and beyond upon our arrival to give us an out of this world tour, which included his tribal knowledge as a long time associate of over 28 years!. The dining staff truly stood out for their exceptional customer service and attention to detail, especially Manual, who provided impeccable service (daily). He even nicknamed my breakfast omelette “hamlet.” it really was a special touch that made us feel very much and at home and among people who loved what they do thank you so much for making this trip with my mom so extraordinary we can’t wait to come back and visit. - bonniebG1834YX (10/5): Gloobles suite is the coolest! - The location is right in the heart of Amsterdam, easy walking distance of canals, restaurants, cafés, red light district, and museums. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient and enjoyable. We had the Gloobles suite with a stunning view of canal and Amstel River. Suite comes with two custom Veloretti electric bikes that we took to Anne Frank’s house, Vondelpark, and Van Gogh museum. The suite is unique in that it comes with a few surprises including a scavenger hunt of the city! Freddy’s was great for nightcap and there’s an indoor pool and fitness center. Staff was warm, accommodating, and genuinely helpful for recommendations throughout the city. Can’t wait to go back!

They helped arrange private transport from the airport to the hotel (and back) that was amazing. Additionally, the restaurants in the hotel are fantastic. We had a dinner at Trattoria Graziella and breakfast at Brasserie Marie. Both were fantastic. The staff at the hotel (including Jordan) could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Lastly, the location is superb. Everything that we wanted to see and do in Amsterdam for a few days was walkable from the hotel (we don't mind a 20-30 minute walk for some things). In summary: there is no better place to stay in Amsterdam.

Em alguns dias preferimos utilizar o transporte público, sendo que há estações de metrô e bondes há poucos metros do hotel. É um hotel clássico, com decoração elegante e equipe muito bem treinada e prestativa. Tem um spa com piscina térmica boa e a academia é muito bem equipada, apesar de pequena. É um hotel muito bom, que visivelmente quer prestar um serviço de altíssimo nível. E consegue fazer isto. Não é um hotel moderno, o mobiliário do quarto não era novo, mas estava bem cuidado e era muito limpo. O banheiro excelente, espaçoso e muito limpo. O hotel, como de praxe em muitos outros hotéis, bloqueia um determinado valor no cartão de crédito no check-in, sendo que o desbloqueio é realizado com tranquilidade no momento do check-out. Não vejo isto como um problema, como relatado em outros comentários. Tratando-se de um hotel que se esforça para entregar um serviço de excelência há detalhes menos significativos que podem melhorar... ...A cama e travesseiros poderiam ser melhores para o padrão do hotel. O hotel possui 2 bares, o interno é extremamente elegante e com uma carta de bebidas muito boa, mas só abre de quarta a sábado. Ao menos para hóspedes, ele deveria ficar aberto durante toda a semana. Fomos no chá da tarde do hotel, que só ocorre nos finais de semana, e foi muito boa a experiência. O único detalhe é que não fica claro que o Champagne não está incluído no valor cobrado pelo chá (que é debitado antes, no momento da reserva). Sinceramente, pelo padrão do hotel, já deveria estar incluído no valor ou ser mais claro com o cliente. Não fui nos restaurantes. O atendimento no Lounge em dias de semana deveria ser melhor. Nos dias de semana são poucos garçons e deveriam ter música, assim como nos dias do chá da tarde. Deixei de consumir no Lounge 2 vezes pela demora no atendimento. Em resumo, o hotel é muito bom, acho que fica muito próximo de valer o dinheiro investido na estadia. Eu voltaria para o hotel, se fosse me hospedar no final de semana. O Lounge é muito agradável e bom de ficar, mas sem música, com o bar interno fechado e poucos garçons ele perde muito a graça e, desta forma, buscaria outras opções de estadia.

The breakfast staff were super accommodating and friendly :) Room service was the only hiccup. Many times we called for service and they only had 1-2 items available. Some employees felt comfortable complaining about their lack of support. Overall we had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend to anyone!

There were a few problems, though, with the room service. One night it took almost 3 hours and the next night after an hour, we ended up canceling the food because it never came. The kitchen was also out of most dishes. A bit disappointing.

The staff were absolutely wonderful - the service throughout our stay was impeccable. Everyone we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely a pleasure to interact with. They truly elevated our experience and made us feel exceptionally well cared for. The room was exceptional, with a fantastic, magical view of the river. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing - the heated floors were absolutely spectacular in the dead of winter. We enjoyed drinks at Freddy’s Bar, the hotel’s iconic gentlemen’s pub, which has wonderful old-world charm and ambiance. Dinner at Brasserie Marie was fantastic - the food was excellent and the French brasserie setting was perfect for both business travelers and couples. I cannot recommend Hotel de l’Europe highly enough. Whether you’re visiting Amsterdam for business or pleasure, this property gets every detail right. It’s a truly world-class hotel in every sense.

Recommended - I visited Amsterdam briefly a couple of months ago, and I still think about my visit to Hotel De L’Europe — a drink at The Chapter Bar and dinner at Graziella. Marco was absolutely phenomenal; I’ve never felt so genuinely welcomed anywhere else. It was difficult to find a table at the restaurant, but he personally spoke to the manager and they managed to accommodate me. The dinner was fantastic, the place stunning, and Clarissa was impeccable. Marco also told me about the history of the hotel, which I found truly fascinating. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one was well deserved. I’ll definitely be back!

- rhinocar (10/5): Perfect location and service - We found this to be the perfect stay for us in Amsterdam. First, the location is ideal and you could basically walk to any place you wanted to within 10-15 minutes including the big museums. The room was large by Amsterdam standards (we had the junior suite). But the best part of the hotel was the staff. I've never had universally friendly and caring service. Everyone from the door people to the bar staff were super friendly, genuinely nice and always helpful. It was the kind of genuine service that you don't find very often anymore.

- Journey765364 (10/5): Quiet & romantic with great service - My husband and I stayed at the Hotel de l’Europe and had a lovely stay. The service was top-notch from the second we walked in: easy check in, showed us right to our room even though we were there early, and offered to connect us with the concierge for special reservations. The lobby and common areas are beautifully appointed, although the hallways are a bit dark. I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the canal on the far side of the lobby. We stayed in a junior suite, which was quite big (especially for Europe). My top must-haves for a hotel room these days are a super quiet environment, great shower and great bed. This stay ticked the first two boxes. I never heard a peep from adjacent rooms or even outside our door, which is so rare these days and much appreciated. The bathroom was gorgeous and had the most delightful rain shower. Had Diptyque products with a beautiful scent. The bed and pillows left a lot to be desired, but we could hardly complain as we were often so tired from our daily adventures! We ate in the hotel restaurant Marie for breakfast most mornings, which was good (nothing to write home about in and of itself). Ordered room service one night when we were particularly exhausted and was shocked by how quickly our meal arrived, as well as how fresh and delicious it was. Overall I’d highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, romantic stay.

- 637janicew (10/5): A Five-Star Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Amsterdam - From check-in to check-out, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel de l’ Europe. Our room was ready 39 minutes after our late morning arrival. The front desk could not have been nicer nor more professional. We chose to wait and grabbed lunch at their restaurant Brasserie Marie. It was delicious! Their location is in the heart of the city making it easy to navigate to museums, restaurants and canals leading to quaint neighborhoods. Our room was spacious for the two of us. Room amenities were great. Our stay included breakfast which was always delicious . The service was excellent. Any time we walked by the front desk and front door, we were always kindly greeted. I highly recommend this luxury hotel!a

All the hotel staff were amazing, especially Jordan. The location was perfect, an easy walk to explore the shops, take a canal tour and close to the tram and train. Beautiful room and amenities. The breakfast menu and buffet was delicious and beautifully presented. We will stay here again when we next visit Amsterdam.

They truly spoiled us in the best possible way. The spa was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and of course their three Michelin Keys are more than deserved. - leckeresserin2016 (10/5): A dream stay in Amsterdam - We stayed here in November and were warmly greeted by Jordan who made as feel at home from the first moment. The hotel is perfectly located, close to Rokin metro station which is only one stop from Centraal Station. The bicycles provided by the hotel are the perfect way to get around during your stay. The room and especially the bathroom are very spacious which is perfect for longer stays. The bathroom is equipped with a Dyson hairdryer. We had dinner and breakfast at Brasserie Marie, both were amazing, from the delicious food to the very friendy staff. We also made use of the Spa, which has a beautiful terrace to cool down after the sauna. We will definitely come back to Hotel de l’Europe if we come back to Amsterdam.

- alicjawasiak (10/5): Stay that exceeded expectations - My parents stayed at D L’Europe during their brief visit in Amsterdam and even though they are not easy to please I can say this hotel exceeded their expectations. From the moment we entered the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming assuring the experience is truely an out of ordinary stay. The room was spacious, bed extremely comfortable and the welcome chocolates as their described - to die for. The property itself is gorgeous with multiple bars and restaurants but the service is what makes it really memorable. Special thank you to the young gentleman - Salvador, who went above and beyond to assure my parents feel comfortable despite the language barrier. More than recommended to visit!

The bar itself is iconic, and the atmosphere is warm, but what truly made my visit exceptional was Marco. His welcome was genuine, attentive, and immediately made me feel at home. He has a natural gift for hospitality that elevates the whole experience. I will make a point to return to this bar every time I am in Amsterdam. Absolutely recommended.

We went to all three restaurants in the hotel and had amazing meals at each. Flore’s chef’s table stood out among one of our top meals ever. Be prepared for a three hour experience. They arranged spa treatments for us outside of regular hours. Relaxing in the lobby with cocktails each evening was a highlight.
