Guest Reviews
- Linda (10/5): - Dry clean and exceptional hotel breakfast.
- george (8/5): - Sissy breakfast (yogurt and fruit)
No bacon and eggs
Good coffee
- Kathryn (10/5): - Great breakfast, happy hour, fire pit with comfortable seating. Although on a busy street it was quiet and private. Close to the Getty, just off the highway.
- leslie (10/5): - Great location! Room was very clean,
- SOFIA (10/5): - Everything was great. We stayed for one night and totally recommend it
- Frank (10/5): - The rooms were well maintained and very clean. The breakfast was small protions but very good. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- Haruka (10/5): - Super clean, new and I love the bright lighting in the room. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great night. Having water filling station was nice too. The breakfast options were great. We ate at the outside seatings every morning. Delicious croissant. Would definitely come back again.
- Robin (8/5): - Very cute space, nicely decorated. Bathroom shower could use an update. Everyone friendly. Great breakfast!
- Jennifer (10/5): Wonderful stay - Really lovely stay, and the people running the desk were so helpful and kind! I had requested a ground floor room bc I expected to have a lot of bags, and the person at the desk had saved me the parking spot closest to the gate with his own car!
The room was well thought out, very comfortable. We enjoyed the water pitcher and glasses.
Breakfast was charming and delicious - our favorites were the yogurt and granola and croissants. Would definitely stay there again!
- Paul (10/5): -
Good points - rooms are nice, breakfast is good. You feel secure. Nice vibe, fire pit is great and there is a nice restaurant you can walk up to called the "tuson son".
Bad points - if you come off the freeway it's a bit unsavoury, go with it - it gets better near the hotel and then beyond. No lift but staff will take cases up if required. Minor points, don't let that put you off.
Overall - 100% would stay here again, does what it says on the tin. It's a great concept! Well done Olivia!!
- Domonique (10/5): - Cutest hotel I’ve stayed at in a while. The room was so cozy, the inner courtyard was absolutely beautiful, the Olivia Cafe was the perfect breakfast stop before a busy day. We especially loved the nightly fire pit with the chilly California night. I couldn’t recommend more.
- Yvonne (10/5): Very quaint hotel. - The hotel is in a prime location. The room was clean but if you are a light sleeper room 231 is not for you. Too close to the road. Breakfast is good with simple choices and included in the room rate. Also it has a lovely terrace. I will go back but in a room away from Santa Monica.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Beautiful and modern.
- Alice (8/5): - Front desk and restaurant staff are all welcoming and helpful. Loved the fresh fruit parfait and coffee at breakfast. Mattress was soft and my family was fine with it. All in all, a great stay.
- Sandra (10/5): - Excellent service from all staff, nicely renovated and well-appointed rooms, lovely breakfast served tableside with actual stoneware and flatware (not disposable). The dining patio is charming, but some shrubbery along the street side would go a long way toward reducing the traffic noise.
- Steven (10/5): - Pleasant stay with helpful staff. Very quiet even with busy traffic on Wilshire (night time). Highly recommend the Tuscan Sun down the street, incredible Bakery items, world class.
- Marguerite (10/5): - Staff! Clean, well-planned room. Breakfast is very good and it's pet-friendly.
- Katherine (10/5): - So cute highly recommend!
- Omar (4/5): - Extremely noisy, very loud Street noise I don't know if they had single pane windows or what but I can barely sleep also it was $30 for parking which is ridiculous when you're paying already over $200 for the room
- Lisa (10/5): - Very lovely hotel that’s super quiet and conveniently located!
- RONALD (10/5): Hidden gem near Beverly Hills - Great value for location. Easy to park and checkin. They do require a $100 incidental hold on your credit card. Unused balance refunded within 24 hours. $30 self park is also a good value. Free breakfast is a nice perk.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There is nothing to eat beside breakfast, although there is a nice bar. The staff was not so friendly
- Marguerite (10/5): - Modernized hotel that still gives an appealing retro vibe with its design. Staff are top notch. Incredible value for price. Located in a leafy residential neighborhood - a short walk to UCLA.
- Marguerite (10/5): - Wonderful, streamlined option for those who want a clean, cheerful, and central option without pool, etc. amenities that aren't really necessary for those coming for access to LA.
- Marguerite (10/5): - Understated gem in Santa Monica/Westwood Area.
- Marguerite (10/5): - Our second stay and we love it here. The hotel is well-run, clean, with staff that understands the importance of warm hospitality. I don't want to sing its praises too much in fear of unveiling what I think may still be a well-kept secret!
- Marguerite (10/5): - Great business model that feels like an international style B&B with a uniquely retro LA vibe.
- Katherine (10/5): - Violeta checked me in & she was professional, accommodating, & kind! Room
Was
Clean, black out curtains, great size room! I would totally stay here again!
- Julia (10/5): - It was a great property and great stay. Not a lot within a safe walking distance, but easy if you get transportation.
- Alan (2/5): - TV falling off wall and not working. Housekeeping never cleaned room even after multiple requests. Musty and moldy odors throughout. Some staff were pleasant, others couldn’t care less.
- Bridget (10/5): Amazing!! - This property is simply incredible! From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped by the tranquility of its cozy boutique-style interior. The friendly staff at the desk greets you warmly. They have a beautiful courtyard, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or simply relax and unwind with a good book. The courtyard is a peaceful oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, despite being on Santa Monica Blvd.
The rooms at this property are impeccably clean and well-appointed. The linens are luxurious and soft, while the towels are incredibly fluffy. It’s a true comfort for guests. The breakfast is absolutely not what you get at the national chains! The Olivia breakfast consist of delicious quiche, overnight oats, yogurt parfait, ham and cheese croissants, delicious coffees amazing orange juice and fruit. We’ve had the pleasure of staying at this property five times already, as this is clearly our go to when in Westwood!
- Sarah (10/5): - I enjoyed my stat at the Olivia Hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. It is a motel, but feels like a hotel because of there’s always someone at the office (receptionist during the day, security guard at night). It is a bit loud at night since the hotel is near a busy street, but I didn’t mind it for a night.
- Na (10/5): - All staffs were so friendly and the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were clean and well-equipped with travel gear.
But this hotel is next to the road, so there was some noise at night
- Kevin (10/5): - The property was very clean and felt new. The service was great. The room was small, but very comfortable. The mattress and sheets were very soft which was a nice surprise.
- Maria (8/5): Great value - Great value. Nicely renovated. Great shower. Very nice staff. A little noisy because it is off Santa Monica Boulevard but close to a lot due to location.
- Geoff (4/5): - Hotel is clean and staff is helpful. Rooms are on the small side, there is no elevator to access 2nd floor, stairs are steep. Overnight parking charge of $30/night is ridiculous, as there is ample parking on the site.
- Alexandra (10/5): Nice Stay - Great! So clean. In safe area. Staff was very friendly.
- John (6/5): - This was a fine place to stay and I liked it. Other reviewers have commented on Olivia's breakfasts. They were of better quality than you might expect at a motel of this sort, but I found the portions surprisingly small. For instance, the bagel order, which isn't included in the free breakfast so you have to pay extra, turns out to be a half bagel.
- Betty (8/5): - The property was newly renovated, nice and clean. The rooms were large. The only problem, there was no elevator! Nice hot breakfast included. The location was not walkable, but parking was easy.
- mary (10/5): - The breakfast at the Olivia is terrific! Location is great, easy access to both Downtown and the West Side. Clean, comfortable, modern--a lovely amenity on this side of town. Check your room location --the back (south) and side (east) may be the quietest.
All in all, we liked this a lot and highly recommend!
- Todd (8/5): - Bed and pillows were very comfortable
- ANDI (10/5): - a
- Seth (10/5): - Great bed, very comfortable room!
- JOHN (10/5): - The Olivia is a litte gem of a hotel in West LA. Staff is very friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast was above and beyond your standard motel breakfast. Location is good for West LA, though though Santa Monica Blvd. there is a bit sketchy. Strongly recommend the Olivia for either business or liesure.
- Janet (10/5): Enjoyable stay in West LA - Friendly staff provided a welcoming stay. Enjoyed the nice complimentary breakfast in the courtyard.
- Willie (10/5): - Loved our one night stay very clean and quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect Solo Getaway - It was a few days to visit Santa Monica and the Getty. Awesome restaurants in the area and the hotel was perfectly located.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 리모델링 된 깨끗한 호텔 - 최근에 리모델리하여 깨끗합니다. 주차 공간도 건물 주변으로 많아서 걱정이 없었습니다.
- Ilya (10/5): - Breakfast was great
- Lloyd (10/5): - Great
- Frank (6/5): - Nice hotel
- Brian (10/5): - Beautiful courtyard area with an amazing breakfast included. Hotel is mew so everything is in perfect condition. Cozy rooms with thoughtful and efficient design.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Olivia Hotel - Great boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Renovated. Clean.
- James (10/5): - Nearly new boutique hotel. Excellent location and amenities. Great small healthy breakfast included. Very nice patio area for dining/hanging out/ fire pit at night. Easy parking available. Totally renovated with upscale features.
Could be noisy if you are in front rooms. Had a problem self checking in, but Staff was on it immediately. Also, expresso machine didn't work, but plain coffee was great.
Will stay there again. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay on the Westside of LA that is a higher level than chain hotel/motel (Holiday Inn etc.).
- Rosalinda (10/5): - parking is limited, but not too bad
- Robert (10/5): - Charming renovated Motel in a location that was just right for the work I needed to do in LA. Enjoyed the simple, yet fresh, complimentary breakfast and the nice courtyard.
- Floyd (8/5): - Well located on the west side. Close to UCLA and the Westfield Mall with easy access to the highways. Good breakfast daily and relatively quite despite being on a busy street. The room was comfortable but small.
- David (10/5): - an un unexpected jem
- Jeanette (8/5): - The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is GREAT BUT misleading because the property details said it has a bar but it does not at all. In fact no food after 10 am - not even coffee, on weekend. It said “social hour” is coming….i booked it because the area does not immediately have a lot of food options thinking they have amenities. They do have a pretty reasonable mini-bar in room. Overall a little misleading.
- Esther (4/5): - I chose to stay at this hotel because I saw online reviews saying it was new and clean. The hotel was renovated from an older building, and the interior facilities have been redone—you can still smell the fresh paint when you walk in.
The room is quite basic, and some of the design choices aren’t very user-friendly—for example, the layout and furnishings don’t feel very thoughtful. The soundproofing is extremely poor, and the floors are thin—you can clearly hear noises from rooms next door.
The breakfast was also a bit disappointing. Even though there weren’t many guests, the server seemed flustered and disorganized, and got my order wrong twice. The plating looked very appetizing but food itself was nothing special.
Overall, staying here once is enough for me. I would rate this more like a two-star hotel.
- Aixa (10/5): - Cozy, clean and comfy boutique hotel. Good location only a short drive away from many activities. Good for families. Beds were very comfy and the bedroom had enough space. Breakfast included was great with many options some paid but worth it. 3$ upgrade for a specialty coffee like cappuccino that was delicious, also the avocado toast.
- Nicola (10/5): Unexpected Find! - Clean, quiet, newly renovated, top notch bathroom fixtures, large screen TV, confortable bed, great breakfast.
- Vanessa (8/5): - The Olivia hotel was great! Loved the courtyard breakfasts and room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful
-checking in and at the cafe. Only recommendation would be sound proof windows for rooms right on Santa Monica blvd. Would stay again.
- Raquel (6/5): - Felt it was an unsage area.
Not many options to eat so we had to Uber Eats.
Continental breakfast could use some work. I wish I can give this a better review.
- B (8/5): Good value. - Remodeled, comfortable, good looking facility. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer more options for breakfast. Overall a good value when in LA.
- Sophia (10/5): - Very clean, quiet and great customer service, I would definitely stay here again!
- James (6/5): - The staff at the Olivia hotel is very accommodating and extremely nice. This would be a great place all except for the fact that it is a renovated Motel. The rooms are very nice but the setting for the rooms is very motel-ish, with direct access into the rooms from common areas like the outdoor sitting area. Some updates for privacy would really help a lot especially for a nearly $300 a night room.
- David (10/5): - Muy buena
- Jamis (10/5): - Clean newer property. Enclosed courtyard. Very nice. Could use more hooks in the rooms for hanging used towels and such.
- Shijie (10/5): - The breakfast is amazing.
- patrick (6/5): No iron - Not having an iron and ironing board is the deal breaker for me. A hand held steamer doesnt cut it. Why not have both and iron and a steamer...
- Renee (8/5): - Really loved the breakfast options, better than a standard hotel continental breakfast. If you face the street, you can hear the street. Wish the hot water was a bit hotter for the shower. Overall very happy with our stay!
- Allyson (10/5): - Every single staff person was very friendly and helpful. Room and common areas were spotless. Very nice outdoor sitting area. Free continental breakfast was much nicer than simply a continental breakfast - delicious quiche and other food, brought to your table by friendly, attentive staff. Overall, a great place to stay.
- Ryan (10/5): - It was a very clean and very new place. And it was great for proximity of where we needed to be with respect to the university.
- Jennifer (10/5): - I love Olivia’s room decor and how clean and new it is. The bathroom was very nice with a large, well lit mirror. The shower was up to date and spotless. As a female, I wish the shower had something for me to put my foot on to make leg shaving easier but that’s the only thing I can think of to make the bathroom nicer. Everything else was perfect. I was happy that the room had a full length mirror. The snack and beverage choices in the room were great and I enjoyed the complimentary water. I appreciated the safe in the nightstand and the nice quality clothes steamer. The complimentary breakfast was terrific with a lovely presentation and the brewed coffee was delicious. I loved the real plates, silverware and coffee mug! If I was in a hurry, I would have thought that the cafe service was slow, but because I had time, it didn’t bother me. The 2 staff members were working hard and were very friendly and professional. The gym is small, but the equipment is good quality. The fumes from the new rubber floor were strong, so that wasn’t great, but I had a good workout. The courtyard has nice seating options and a fire pit that has 5-6 comfy chairs around it. If cleanliness is top on your list and you appreciate nicely decorated rooms, you’ll be very pleased at the Olivia!
- Jose (10/5): - Experience with my fiancé and my baby I’m definitely coming back to this place. Thank you to the staff. 💯
- David (8/5): - Easy in and nice rooms and extras. Nice design.
- Eric (10/5): - Nice new rooms and good breakfast. The staff are friendly and the location is very convenient. A great option if you are looking for someplace convenient to UCLA / Westwood that is reasonably priced (for the area, at least). Next to a busy road but the rooms are well sound proofed. Would stay again.
- Arianna (10/5): - Stayed here over the holiday weekend and was definitely happy with my choice. Such a nice sleek hotel definitely recommend.
- Kristi (10/5): Cute modern and chic - Cute, small, cozy and modern. The bed, sheets and pillows were very comfortable and soft! The digital temperature gauge on the wall was not as intuitive as I would have liked it to be and it also brought a lot of light into the room at night. Other than that, super clean, cute and had the cutest little courtyard.
- David B (10/5): - Outstanding experience at this charming boutique hotel, where all details have obviously been well thought out.
Very quiet room despite being on a busy street, well-lit room, great wi-if, very comfortable bed and a well- thought out room layout (counter space in bathroom, etc). Nice coffee maker, steamer, and fresh filtered water.
Breakfast is a highlight - high quality and tasty. The courtyard is very mellow and a great place to eat or spend time.
Mostly, though, service was outstanding with all of the staff we interacted with.
We will be back.
- Nicholas (10/5): - As a frequent business traveler, I'm always looking for a hotel that isn't a sterile reminder that I'm sacrificing quality of life to be on the road. The Olivia Hotel is one of the few hotels that doesn't constantly remind me that I'm traveling for work.
At the heart of the hotel is an intimate cafe with a simple yet well-executed complimentary breakfast. You can pick and choose the items you want, from overnight oats to quiche and even avocado toast. The coffee program feels fit for even the pickiest of coffee lovers. I spent the entirety of one morning, lounging in the cafe with my laptop and AirPods, taking calls and getting some work done. Didn't need to go searching for a cafe in the area, as this one had all that I needed.
As for the rooms, they aren't huge, but they are brand new and well designed. I wouldn't bring a huge family into one of these rooms, but for a solo work trip, it was perfect. I loved the fact that the minibar pricing was actually reasonable for a change -- no need to crawl down to the lobby or the convenience store for an evening snack.
As for the rest of the experience, I found the hotel staff to be warm, professional, and helpful. Most importantly, they all seemed to be happy to be there, which isn't always the case at hotels these days. You almost forget about how little things like this can make a big difference in your own mood.
Thank you to the wonderful team at Olivia Hotel. I will most certainly be back!
- Cynthia (10/5): - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely new hotel. My room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed my complimentary bottled water, and appreciated the snacks and minibar options available for a small fee.
I loved the complimentary continental breakfast. I chose the buttered croissant, quiche, and fruit . It was tasty and filling. I opted for premium coffee (only $3 more) and it was delicous.
I highly recommend staying here! Very close to UCLA and Century City.
