This hotel is probably the best smelling hotel I’ve been to! I really loved the ambiance, interior and decor. The staff was very nice as well. On most days, my family (with 2 young kids) walked to shops and restaurants. I’d definitely visit again.

- CARLA (10/5): - I appreciate the spectacular view from our room. We were on the 30th floor and had the East Harbor View and the Botanic Gardens. It was amazing! The location is very convenient and walkable to Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge. You definitely pay a premium for these kind of view and convenience. We did not try the breakfast as it is spendy for us, 50 A$. Room service is fast, reasonably priced and tasty. Multiple options especially for our son who is a picky eater. There are a lot of other eating places close by. If we have another chance, we will definitely stay here again.

Cleanliness and upkeep of common restrooms in lobby area was a huge let down. Fitness club was only average with limited equipment for a 5 star hotel.
- Shaina (4/5): - I booked this hotel for sight seeing after going on a cruise that landed in Sydney. Loved that it was right by the Opera House and cruise terminal, walking distance or short taxi drives to a lot of sites. They had an early arrival lounge which made it great. We were there till our room was available early. Someone even came by to replace the bathroom lock that we didn’t know was broken. And a few minutes later, someone else came up and gave our kids little toys. We attempted to eat at the hotel restaurant. We waited 30 minutes for appetizers. Drinks came after that. The server told us that my husband‘s chicken was taking a little bit longer due to an event, but that everything else will come out in the next couple minutes. His food came out with my children’s, but my food never came. Server was nowhere to be found and by that time I was upset so I just asked the bartender (I think. No idea who he was because no one approached our table until I was sending my family up to the room while I remained) to cancel my food and let me leave. Pool was smaller side but that was fine. However, guests weren’t following the posted rules about wearing swim gear. There were lots of kids in just underwear and pool attendant didn’t say anything to them about it. I didn’t feel comfortable letting the kids back into the pool again. I did try the sauna in the women’s room. It said it was 68C after the warm-up time. There was no way it was that hot. I left because it wasn’t hot enough.

The facilities and rooms were all you would expect from a five star hotel, but added to these expectations were a staff that went above and beyond any normal requirement. With friendly assistance and advice whenever help was needed nothing seemed any trouble. The breakfast was top quality and again the friendliness of our hosts was remarkably good. We gladly recommend the Intercontinental to any wishing to have a luxurious stay in the heart of Sydney
- Allan (4/5): Hotel room ok, but food and beverage was a disaste - Hotel was fine but the problem was with every aspect of their Food And Beverage. Breakfast was a mess, plates not cleared and important to get help to order anything. Lunch was worse but the absolute top off was the disguising part was the evening event dinner. Poor food, dry salad and cold mains. Dirty plates, no clearing of dirty plates and desert plonked on top of dirty dinner plates. Service was rude and disorganised and the plate has insects crawl off it. Shocking for an expensive hotel. Total let down.

- Wei Chun (10/5): - Great location and service. Love that it's inside a historical building. Also appreciate the waiting lounge when we waited for our room to be ready. They were very accommodating and our room was ready a few hours prior to the check in time.
- Marie (10/5): - Could not ask for more when staying in the city. Great staff, spotlessly clean, convenient to get around.
- Michael (10/5): - We travelled to Sydney to attend the Gladiator at the Opera House and were a little concerned about parking for our 'pride & joy' car. Not only did the valet staff go above and beyond to ensure the security of our car, the entire staff at Inter-Continental were exceptional. We had a fabulous, peaceful stay. Thanks team.

- Allison (6/5): - I have stayed at the hotel 3 times in the last 2 years. I love the hotel's location and quality, but I was beyond disappointed with the comfort of the bed. I do not know what has happened, but it was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. It was the same for my sister. We were staying at the hotel to celebrate her birthday and to enjoy a weekend away. I have been staying at the hotel for over 15 years on and off, and I was so uncomfortable that I had to sleep on the top of the bed on the comforter to give it some softness... I received a lukewarm and uninterested response when I raised this with the hotel.
- Mark (10/5): - tremendous views in the club and service. Hotel is conveniently located ez walk to opera house and circular quay,botanical gardens, sydney museum, government house and Hyde Park. Concierge is excellent. Didnt use the restaurants or fitness facilities. Room service was very good. Beds comfortable and inens nice. Robes and slippers includded.
- Robert (8/5): - Most of our stay was very good. Had trouble with TV. Floor staff at breakfast were very slow. Overall staff were very good.
- mark (6/5): - Such a beautiful hotel and location. The view was absolutely magnificent from our room and really comfortable furnishings. Perfect location for Circular Quay and Opera House. What a shame that the service in the bar, at reception and the valet parking left ALOT to be desired. Made what could have been an ideal trip to Sydney for a family of Novacastrians a very upsetting. I won't be returning.

- Suzanne (10/5): Luxurious hotel in prime location - Hotel is in a prime location, and it's luxurious. I was in walking distance of the Sydney Opera House. The breakfast buffet is great, and service is top notch. Most definitely a hotel I would splurge on again.
