Guest Reviews
- Martyn (8/5): - Only downside was non collections in courtyard at 5am each day!!
- Allan (8/5): Dublin weekend - Budget choice accommodation, well positioned for tourist attractions. If any downsides I would say the paint work in the rooms could be improved, lots of scuffs. The step to get in and out the shower is high and the opening to the shower is narrow.
- Mark (6/5): - Very noisy if near the bar underneath.
- Kevin (6/5): - Environnement bruyant, dommage!
- Nelson (6/5): - Hotel's staff was too noisy in the middle of the night. We hear everything. The room was very warm. The bed springs hurt your back.
- Denise (10/5): - It was a very convenient location. Room was very simple. A little noisy at nights. Recommend using the earplugs offered. Also recommend the rental of the fan. On warmer nights need the air circulation. But the area is safe and very central. 10 minute walk into the heart of Dublin.
- Scott (4/5): Hot, loud and lacks amenities - Pretty disappointed with this. From the pictures it looks pretty nice, but you make the mistake of expecting basic amenities. For the amount they’re charging a night. You’d expect to at least have hand soap and towels, right? Wrong. They give you some body wash you can get from reception, but you have to pay to use their towels, and it just lacked a lot of basics.
The hotel itself is fairly well located, about 15 minute walk from the city centre, but it’s right next to some bars, and the courtyard acts as an echo chamber, whereby you can hear every last clink of a bottle, conversation, sirens, laughing and cheering, everything. So this hinders your sleep.
The worst hinderance of sleep though, alongside the terrible bed with a million raw springs protruding into your spine, is the heat. It was unnecessarily hot in the rooms, hallways and lift, despite it not even being a hot day. This leaves you to needing the window open, which creates more noise as stated above, and more uncomfort. Definitely do not recommend.
- John (10/5): - Very good
- Isabella (8/5): - Location was great and was good value in comparison to other hotels in the area.
- Margarita (10/5): - It was a good price/quality relation
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The double Room was very Little and the Wall, dirty
- Johannes (8/5): - Very clean, good room and kitchen on the floor
- Wouter (4/5): - At first Destiny Student calls the accommodation a hotel but prior to arrival they sent an email that says ‘it is not a hotel’.
When we arrived the room was clean aside from some mold in the shower. Unfortunately the shared kitchen was very dirty (floor, table, couch) and there was only one pan and no dish clothes available for 5 bedrooms. When we complained at the reception that we would like to cook but that the kitchen was very dirty they wrote something down and didn’t fix the problem. When we complained again later that day with a different staff member, we got two extra pans and the kitchen got cleaned. The staff members were friendly at first but didn’t apologize or anything after we complained, they only said they’ll do their best to keep it clean, but the kitchen wasn’t cleaned in days.
The bedlinnen were clean but I wouldn’t call a 120cm bed a double but just a large single.
When you pay around 100 euros per night you would expect the staff to be friendly and help you wherever they can. I’m not staying here again.
- Sean (8/5): - Perfect as a cheap stay for one person. Not immaculately clean and a bit out of town, but you get what you pay for. Happy with it for the price.
- Mohammed (6/5): - The staff were always extremely helpful. Helped us a lot when we require assistance. The accomadation on the hand was not very good. The actual size of the living and dining area was very spacious. The kitchen wasn't very clean however, things left from previous users and the furniture and kitchen aplicance looked at though they had not been cleaned. The rooms were okay nothing amazing but our main issue here was the showers and tap which had no pressure at all and one of our room the shower kept getting blocked up so we had to share showers in another room. Not great considering these are uni accoms, not normal hotels who provide complimentary services in addition to the room, so they are really only providing us beds shower and kitchen space and none of them were a good standard. Overall would not recommend unless you need the space as we did.
- Darcie (4/5): Less than sanitary. - Was given a less than sanitary room
with stained sheets and an unmade bed, overflowing bins, hairs EVERYWHERE, crumbs on all surfaces, and skid marks in the toilets. looked as though it had swiftly been skipped by housekeeping.
Despite contacting my booking agent and hotel directly, no compensation or apology for inconvenience has been given.
Extremely disappointed.
- Eleanor (8/5): - Great place to stay and easy access to the city
- Victoria (6/5): - So loud !! Doors slamming all night people shouting staff dragging trollies and talking loud at 5 am and this was Monday Tuesday not even a weekend.
- Chester (4/5): Uncomfortable mattress and to hot - If I had know the mattress was going to be so uncomfortable I would have just stayed in a hostel. Also although there is a thermostat in the room there is no way to control the temperature The room was way to hot on a night.
- Brydie (4/5): - I was thankful I only stayed one night here as I didn’t sleep at all. It was extremely loud the entire night. There was a very loud college party happening that went until about 11pm the noise continued again with people on my floor very intoxicated and loudly banging things until about 2am in the morning. The sink in my bathroom also had no sink cover on it you could see straight down into the pipe. If this accommodation had been cheaper I would’ve been more understanding but for the price I paid I was very unhappy.
- Joseph (8/5): - Nice clean updated room. Easy walk to the sites. Aloft is across the street with a nice bar and restaurant.
- Diana (6/5): - Property is budget for a reason.
Although walkable to Dublin center, there are some aspects that could be improved to elevate this venues rating.
Such as bath mat in the bathroom. This is really a safety issue, with wet feet on hard tiles. Not sure why towels are not supplied and this cost reflected in the nightly rate. Noise from guests in the central courtyard a serious design flaw.
All these issues are easily rectified. Happier guests all round.
- Christopher (2/5): - Terrible
- V (8/5): - It was very good value. Bed a little small and noisy outside at night but still good overall.
- Megan (10/5): - The service was incredible! The staff were so lovely and accommodating! The room itself was so clean and nice! The bed is small however 2 of slept fine in it. Was very cozy and nice
- Whitney (10/5): - This was a great stay for a reasonable price! In a nice location with lots of pubs nearby. The rooms are quite small but worked for what we needed.
- Joyce (10/5): - Place was good, however the rooms are kept to hot without being able to change the temperature, and there is a bar downstairs that becomes very lively. If you are a light sleeper the place is to loud, you can also hear people in the next room.
- Juliana (2/5): - The place was dirty, someones underwear in the wardrobe, shared kitchen dirty with full sink and side of dirty dishes the whole time i was there and then some ramdom female camped out on the sofa the whole time too, very expensive for what you get!
- James (8/5): Excellent value and did what I needed - Very good value. No real services available but at the price it was excellent. A quiet, clean comfortable place to sleep.
- Deborah (10/5): - .
- Juan (6/5): - Great location but very noisy at night due to the bar downstairs.
- Halaine (10/5): - The property was very clean, it was just a little confusing to get to. There should be a bigger sign on the street so you know to go inside past the other hotel.
- Ewan (8/5): - Great accommodation. Would’ve been nice to have a towel and soap included though.
- Mike (10/5): Great accommodation for short stay - Facilities are perfect for a friends weekend away. Idea to have 4 mates in an apartment and so 4 separate but adjoining rooms and a shared kitchen/living area works really well. Really clean and great location plsu great price.
Staff are really friendly and helpful too.
- Mukhtar (2/5): - the staff was excellent
but no soap
- Amanda (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were good, would be better if there were double beds rather than 3/4 beds and that the car park was closer to the accommodation, but overall good place to stay for a couple of days 😊
- Dana (8/5): - This was a great place to stay just a short 20 min walk from major attractions. The room was just right for me and the bathroom was nice. Lots of storage for clothes including places to hang things and lots of shelves. Beds are hard but that is Ireland for you. The shower is fantastic-great pressure! I was worried about noise but it was super quiet. The room wasn’t as clean as I would like as the floor was a bit dirty. Having a full kitchen with a fridge was also great but the kitchens are dirty. That is my one complaint. Staff were fantastic. Keep in mind that towels and hair dryer are not included. They cost extra. Overall I would stay again as the price was great and I was happy with my stay.
- Scott (2/5): - Extremely filthy, and Noisy all through the night. Would not advise.
- Attila (10/5): - Clean and modern.
- Martin (8/5): Modelocation, friendly staff, poorly mai - Great location. New building. Clean. Friendly staff. Only downsides were: poor water pressure; wash basin and toilet seat broken, water in wash basin slow to empty, kettle in the kitchen was not working, no air conditioning and the window latch was sticking.
- Sara (8/5): - Staff very helpful. Rooms basic but nice.
- Martyn (10/5): - Very good location and facilities only downside was noisy laundry lorry outside every morning at 5am
- mikal (6/5): - Enjoyed the area of town
Wish there was a shower matt in the bathroom so the floor wasn’t soaked, and hand soap without having to go to the desk.
- Daniel (6/5): - Dublin is expensive. This made the budget and allowed me to explore Dublin. Wasn’t surprised it was bare bones as I lived in residence.
- Lisa (2/5): - Well we got there and waited an hour only to be told that there was no staff and all the rooms were dirty. They ended up sending us to another hotel very upsetting waste of time waste of a first night in Dublin
- Jannie (10/5): Perfect place. -
Very good location. Centrally. You can walk to most sights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked that it was reasonably close to some of the attractions I wanted to visit. Price was reasonable. Clean. Efficient organization.
Missed having a TV for catching up on news.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The accommodation is competitively priced compared to other options in Dublin, however the room was dusty and generally felt unkempt. The bottle tray in the shower had not been cleaned (dry soap/shampoo dried to the bars) dead insects on skirting board under the desk but nothing a damp cloth couldn’t sort. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, which made it hard to sleep on and the walls are so thin you can hear everything in the adjoining room. Typical student accommodation nothing more/less but for the price you pay compared to other options in Dublin it was okay for a couple of night.
- Carlos (8/5): Mnnnn - It was ok !!
- World (10/5): - Inexpensive, modern student dorm. Very clean and fully equipped lounge and kitchen. Private shower only bath is great but may be a bit tight for some people. 24 hours front desk to help all you need and provide basic needs like shampoo, instant coffee, tea bag, etc. You need to rent the rest for small fees. Anyway, it’s student dorm, not a full hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were very impressed with this accommodation. It is in a very new, modern building and the room was much bigger than we expected and very light with floor to ceiling windows and a small en suite bathroom. The shared kitchen was very spacious as well with modern equipment, a dishwasher and also a sofa and tv. Although we shared the kitchen with five other rooms we mostly had the kitchen to ourselves and it was nice to be able to make breakfast before setting off into Dublin. The centre of Dublin was only a short walk away and it felt a nice safe area. The reception staff were all very friendly as well and it was a nice touch to be able to pick up teabags, coffee
and shower amenities. There was even a facility to borrow a fan or hairdryer.
We would definitely recommend this accommodation as we felt it was extremely good value and felt more like a nice, modern hotel than any other student accommodation we have seen.
- AC (6/5): - The facilities are nice, but the walls are paper thin. I couldn't sleep the first night because I kept on hearing the neighbor
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good spacious apartment and good value for money. Close enough to centre about 20 minute walk. Still a few things left over from when students had the room and could be slightly cleaner but nothing drastic. Can pay €10 to extend room to 12 o’clock check out which was good value. Would recommend for groups as better value then hotels in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful..No question was too difficult for them.
- RAMESH (6/5): - Kitchen area to be kept clean and lot of old food lying scattered. The rooms are too small for keeping the large suitcases. The common kitchen area is to be maintained much better to have value for money.
- Diana (6/5): overpriced for budget style accomodation - overprice for a budget style accommodation, 4 night stay, dishes with food and rubbish remained on bench for whole stay, i had to say something for it to be cleaned, kitchen only had a couple of cultery and plates, not enough for 8 rooms and things were dirty in kitchen, Amenities - grab from reception - 3 days no milk to get and no shampoo satchels, only because i compliant since there been none for 3 days that some where given to me off shelf, the bathroom sink was clogged so water was not going down and stay in sink all day. have pay addition to have bag stored. I have stayed in student accomdation around the world and it is more budget price and that is fine for what you get. if this was cheaper and budget price, i would not care about any the above. Since i book 2 weeks before i could not get the accommodation i was wanting to get already taken, if i could the price was not much different. Not worth $125 a night, you can get a cheap hotel for almost that if book early enough.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Calm place, great location, clean. I recommand it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was spacious for what we paid, and it is very new. The shared kitchen and living area was also very large and well-equipped. There is a weight room to use. It is not a far walk from the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and modern rooms but lots of slamming doors late at night and early in the morning. About 15 minutes from the centre and in a nice area. Bathroom light on a timer which isn't ideal. Other than that, room was comfortable.
- Katherine (8/5): - Both check in and luggage drop was super easy and accomodating. Nice place to stay close to lots of local pubs and historical sites. Only thing, I would book two rooms next time as beds are quite small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing accomodation, so modern, clean and super affordable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, simple. Good location. Walk to city centre
Excellent value
- Orlagh (8/5): Very affordable! - Wasn't sure what to expect but student accommodation has improved immensely in the last few decades. Clean, modern, covered the basics. En-suite was small but had everything needed. Bed would've been tight fit for two (but sure that might not he a bad thing ;) ) would stay again.
- Daine (10/5): A good experience in Dublin - Reception was friendly and efficient, the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The location was close to Temple Bar area and other attractions. We walked alot at night and found the area to be safe.
- michael (8/5): Not your typical place, loved it! - If you want to experience young and vibrant people this is the place to go. Was totally amused at times with the antics of the students. Not exactly the quietest place but not boring at the same time. Just down the road is Fallon’s 400 year local bar with five euro fresh Guinness pints supposedly the most inexpensive pints in Dublin.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property was brand new close to city attractions.
The noise level in the property was unbelievable! I did not sleep for 3 full nights. People were slamming doors and the big metal gate. If you don’t like to sleep and you like being annoyed by young drunk people then stay here.
- Madonna (10/5): 5 star and budget prices - This was a fantastic few days in Dublin. The hotel was very clean and local to the main public transport stops.
Dermot the manager was very easy going and has the place running very smoothly indead. Him and his staff made us feel very welcome and we will be back soon x
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nobody cares to ask us if we want our bedding change and bins empty.
