Room was great with straightening irons , water , large bath , yoga mat etc. We had a family superior . We were so lucky it was available when we arrived at lunch time. Very grateful. Loved sitting in the armchair by the view.

For the amount of money that you pay and their advertisement of a four-star hotel doesn’t even come close. The staff was super nice and helpful so that is not a reflection of them.
Dhawal (6/5): - I stayed for 3 nights. On the first day, there was a strong sewer smell in the room that made it difficult to sleep. I reported it, and while the issue was initially addressed, the smell returned on the third night and was even worse — I couldn’t sleep at all. The staff’s response was disappointing; instead of being understanding, they were dismissive and rude. For the amount I paid, I could have booked a much better property.

Sharona (2/5): STAY AWAY! - I got a deluxe room for comfort and roominess when we got there they put us in the smallest room that was worn down and it made me feel closed in, when I went back to checkin they told me that the room I booked was what I got, when I showed them my email confirmation and the picture it showed of the room they said that the website has the wrong picture up for what I booked expecting me to stay quite, after letting them know that I wasn't happy at all they offered to put me in an upgraded room but with no view because they said in that category room they don't have available at the time, so we accepted it, but it was also worn down less than the other one, the air-condition took forever to cool the room, there were stairs to the sleep area and closet, the safe didn't work, ants in the room. For the total amount of money I paid I was overcharged by $250/night this is more like if I paid for $135/night room.

We were able to easily walk from the train station with our luggage which was a priority for us, as our train leaving Venice was an early one. Also, as a celiac, it is so helpful to have a decent breakfast and they did a great job of this! I especially love the honeycomb. :) There’s definitely a bit of street noise from partiers at night but probably not as much as the central locations - plus you are able to close shutters, which significantly dampens the noise.
LISA (10/5): - The Continental was perfect for our needs. Near the train station so that we didnt have far to take our luggage and not in too touristy an area. It was right on the canal and so we were able to eat breakfast while watching the boats drive by. Wle took a water taxi from the airport (very much recommend this) and we were dropped right outside our door. All in all it exceeded expectations.

francisco (8/5): - Claudia at the reception was charming and v professional. We choose this hotel due to its proximity to the Stazione Santa Lucia. We had a canal view room which was great. The view was fab but the bathroom was utterly small, v disappointing about this. Breakfast was ok but could for sure be a bit more elevated. The restaurant area requires some attention. The area is great, plenty to do and from there you can walk to everywhere more central located in 40 Minutes.

Abhishek (6/5): - The property is good. We had a room with the view of the canal which was great. The way from reception to the building where the room is located stinks. The front desk/ reception staff is extremely rude and unfriendly. We happened to check out a little later than the scheduled check-out time since we got stuck at the water bus station in Venice which was our fault( the water bus can get extremely busy and crowded in spring and summer. We waited almost 2 hours just to catch the water bus to get back to our hotel stop ) But, there was no attempt made by the staff to reach us or let us know that they would send cleaners to our room while we were away. Our bags were packed and all they had to do was to let us know that they would move the bags to storage safely while they can clean the room but we were not asked or Informed and upon our return to the hotel, the receptionist was extremely rude in her behavior. Our room was open with cleaners turning over the room. Our luggage was inside with all our valuables ( camera and cash) All our food was thrown in trash and some of the cash money went missing from the bag. They would not help us move our bags out of the room either. A little hospitality would be nice!

Roger (4/5): - A functional, pleasant business hotel … but a small shower that flooded immediately, giving the bathroom a moody smell; had to cross a dank alley (and once enjoy the spectacle of someone peeing there) to reach our building/room; unnecessarily closes the terrace overlooking Grand Canal at 10; very noisy one night as they moved laundry trolleys around in the alley, in Venice, but far from most things. In the end, better than nothing.

Location of the hotel is also very convenient with plenty of dining options available. My only qualm with the hotel room is that the shower drain was not able to drain the water quickly enough and shower screen could not close fully. Other than that, I strongly recommend Hotel Continental!

John (2/5): - When checking in the hotel we reserved a room with the Grand Canal View we were told they were going to have to downgrade because our son was with us and the room only fit two. They wanted to take away the Grand Canal View and change it to a standard room for the same price. I fought the Manager for twenty minutes before he relented us to let us keep our room. The room was not the cleanest there was blood drops on the headboard of the bed. The floor was extremely dirty but hey the view was amazing. We asked for a private water taxi the day before leaving and the clerk said she would arrange it and call up to the room to confirm. We waited for over 3 hours and no call. We decided to arrange our own transportation then we were checking out the private water taxi was sitting waiting for us that she never confirmed. The hotel breakfast and shower are the highlights, the staff was horrible. Spend $500 somewhere else per night, it’s not worth it my friends.

Has elevaor but still many steps to room (due to old buildings), so hard with lots of luggage. Overall, I do recommend this hotel.

Carin (10/5): - The property was a little dated and the wood ceiling in our room was not our vibe but the A/C was good and the room size was great! The best part were the staff were ALL super friendly and understanding. They were also patient to explain everything. They did not get frustrated even though there was a whole tour group they were checking in.

LAI shan (2/5): - We are very disappointed. It’s very not price worthy for the stay, paid over €2xx per night, they just arranged the rooftop room which looks like the unauthorised construction room for us, the air conditioner is not cool enough.
Verified traveler (6/5): If you need an accessible room confirm ahead! - While the property has an elevator, some rooms still require going up additional stairs to access them and no porter to help when I checked in (9:30) Room must have been near restaurant vent as it smelled like French fries.

Anita (8/5): - Stayed for 1 night and had no issues. I booked this hotel due to it being a close walk to the train station which was a perfect location. They upgraded us to a room with Grand Canal views which was much appreciated. Would stay here again.
Anna (10/5): - This hotel was perfect for us. It was very close to the St Lucia train station and it was right on the grand canal! We only stayed overnight so we didn’t care much about our room, but it was pretty small, as I imagine most rooms in Venice are. Otherwise it was perfect for what we needed, it was clean and it was close to everything we were looking for. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had. Definitely would stay here again!
Lydiette (6/5): - The hotel is not bad but the room didn’t look like the picture in Expedia at all. I paid $380 dollars for one night and I’m traveling alone with my two daughters. At the time for check in, they wanted to charge me an additional $200 euros for my little one, and they suggested to put us in different rooms, I said to them that the option for me was totally insane, I would never put my minors to sleep alone in a different room. Suddenly, after more than 30 minutes waiting in suffering they found a bigger room with a sofa bed and charge me $80 euros. I don’t mind if they charge extra for the breakfast, because is fare and I honestly prefer to have a better brunch in any bakery around here but my daughter is a tiny girl and always sleeps with me or her oldest sister.
LISA (4/5): - Terrible - a/c stopped working in the middle of the night and they said "we will have someone come by later in the day" and I couldn't open a window without letting in mosquitos. It was like staying at a hostel but I paid $200 dollars with a view of an alley and a tiny room with no a/c. Can't recommend this place at all, don't waste your time or money. I requested a refund and am pending an update.
greg (10/5): - This is a great hotel for anyone who wants to enjoy the sights and sounds of Venice. It’s a five-minute walk from the train station and the ferry, and there are countless restaurants and shops right down the street. The breakfast buffet is solid, and you can eat right on the canal. The staff is friendly and hardworking. Special shout-out to Lucrezia at the front desk, who was really helpful and might be the loveliest person in the City of Water!

James (2/5): Do not stay at BW Continental - SAVE YOUR MONEY - Whatever you do, do not stay at this gross outdated and smells like sewage hotel. Upon arrival, we were “upgraded” and walked into a flooded bathroom. So right out of the gate we had to wait for maintenance when we just got to Venice. Then the water does not get hot. I paid Extra for a tub and couldn’t even use it cause the water was luke warm. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the rooms are not the cleanest. Save your money and your mind, go somewhere else!
Enrique (10/5): - This place was great. With exception of black mold on the shower. We did book last minute and showed up almost immediately maybe that is the reason why they missed it. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and will probably go back.
Jenna (10/5): - The best part of this hotel was its proximity to the train station. Venice is not easy to get around with luggage so I specifically sought out a hotel where we wouldn't have to walk far once arriving. However, once you drop your luggage off, the hotel is close to anything you'd want to do in Venice. It was about a 20 minute walk to Piazza San Marco (which you should see and then leave) but there's so much to do on the way, you will surely stop and eat, drink, and shop along the route. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room was off of an alley and didn't have a view but that's what you get when you book it as a last minute travel change. The room was pretty hot over night, the air conditioning didn't really seem to work. We slept with the windows open and it was fine. I would definitely come back and stay here again, though I'd pay more for a room with a view.
Abigail (10/5): Love this hotel in Venive - Nice hotel which is very close to Santa Lucia station. The room we stayed in was newly renovated, had ample space for 3 persons and has a balcony with a partial view of the canal. Hotel has a lovely restaurant in front of tne building. Breakfast buffet was good.

Calvin (8/5): One night in Venice - Had a quick stop over in Venice from Rome on our way to Spain. The Hotel was lovely and on the water's edge. Space is a premium in Venice, but the rooms (2 rooms) were big enough for our stay. However, the hotel has a SMALL elevator and we found it difficult to locate the ENTRANCE as it's kind of 'hidden' in between the outside dining area - there is a door that leads to reception.

Caroline (8/5): - The hotel is in a perfect location. For my family and I it was very helpful to stay near the train station.walking with luggage in Veneza it is not a good idea. Our bedroom it was beautiful, but the cleaning it wasn’t good. I found trash from the previous guest.
Andrew John (10/5): - Nothing to complain about, ALL staff were excellent. Breakfast great, no issues. Shout out to Claudia on Reception who was superb. Counting the days till we return.
