James (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Hotel is ideally located for Gare du Nord. Well-served by nearby buses, Metro, RER. As with most 3-star hotels in Paris rooms are small. However, they are modern, comfortable bed, shower & toilet. Very clean and serviced daily. The breakfast room is modern, nicely decorated and the buffet was excellent. Friendly staff and good value.

Chulwoo (6/5): Overall compliant with Mercure standards - Overall the hotel seems to be compliant with the Mercure standards, and therefore one has little risk of being too disappointed with the room conditions. Yet one has to walk 3-5 mins to get to the hotel from the station, crossing two streets, which may give some hassle to people with many things to carry. I went out and came back at midnight, and had to knock on the door for about 10 mins with another guest until someone came out and let us in.

Jérôme (4/5): Pas digne d'un Mercure, à éviter. - Ici, les chambres sont plutôt correctes bien que sans originalité. Mais là où le bat blesse, c'est le service. Lorsqu'au moment de la réservation demande une chambre avec un lit double (preuve à l'appui), et que l'on a deux lits jumeaux, qu'on l'indique à la réception, on attend autre chose que "de toute façon, nous sommes complets". Avec en cadeau un petit ricannement avec les collègues une fois le dos tourné. Ajouter à ça la climatisation que l'on ne peut pas régler depuis la chambre, l'insonnorisation avec le couloir ridicule et la vue sur les voies de train, c'est sans doute le pire Mercure dans lequel j'ai pu dormir.

Verified traveler (4/5): - Beware. Book elsewhere in Paris! You have been warned. We thought booking a Mercure Hotel would ensure a good experience however this hotel has some serious problems. 1. We had no hot water for the whole 2nd day. The water heater had failed. Searching reviews online this seems to be a reoccurring problem since at least October 2019. We have yet to achieve a refund from Expedia for one day ca.£73 despite contacting them 3 x and asking the hotel itself and emailing Mercure complaints. Expedia has not called me back as they promised. Truly dreadful experience with both hotel and Expedia. 2. The aircon heating controls do not work and we were cold as it was below c18. We were given a 2nd duvet and I requested a heater. Then the heating was turned up and we were too hot at c22. Thermostat controls do not work in room. 3. On the first day we had no water as it had been cut off by the City of Paris for repairs. We could not wash or flush the loo! Not the hotels problem but they could have warned us in advance! The staff are polite and the cleaners efficient but Mercure must fix the water heating which fails frequently. The location is very good. We would stay again if the hot water and heating gets a permanent fix. The cost of breakfast was too expensive and we didn't book it. There are cheap places to eat nearby.

Steve (4/5): Disappointing stay at a top branded hotel. - An oversold hotel on the website. Cramped rooms that were far too small. Space in the rooms and the hotel in general was very limited. My booking told me I had a room with a view of the city! I had the station tracks instead! Lights sockets missing covers and the shower dispenser didn't work. Whilst the staff gave great service the hotel itself was very disappointing.

Natalie (8/5): Good location and friendly staff - We stayed two nights in March 2017. It is located within approx 5 minutes walk from Paris Gar de Nore railway station. There are also many restaurants and supermarkets around the hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They greet us very time we leave and return to the hotel. The was a problem with the aircon in the room and it was promptly fixed by relocating us to another room. Need to be mindful of pickpocket in the area though.
Richard (2/5): Thief's haven in Paris - I recently stayed in this hotel with a colleague of mine right before the Easter weekend on a business trip. On the 2nd day of our staying, both rooms were hit and our computers were taken and they went through everything in our luggage. There was no forced entry and everything else was fine. The worst part is that the hotel staff seemed very unconcerned about this and according to them, this is a regular occurring. I have to remind them if they have a standard of procedure to help their guest and the answer was "not much". I have been back for 5 days now and I am still waiting for their response what happened. My bigger question is: do they care their guest's safety or once you are in, you are on your own.
Mark (8/5): Nice hotel close to trains, buses, and cafes. - when we arrived at the hotel, Mercure Paris gare du Nord la Fayette, we where welcomed very nicely. Through out my stay the staff were very helpful, with anything I needed to know as my french is very limited. My room was comfortable for 2 adults, our room on the second floor overlooked Rue La Fayette and Gare du East, we had noise from the street at all. Walking towards Gare du Nord metro/train station the street is lined with french cafes. There is also a McDonalds, Burger King, and a Starbucks near by.

Ms Marie (2/5): Never Again - Upon arriving at the hotel the woman at the reception was so rude and unhelpful. She told me my room number and that was it. I asked her what time breakfast was and she said 6am. I asked her when till and she said 10am. I had to go online to see that breakfast was served till 11am. Following that my whole stay was terrible. My sheets and my room was not cleaned or changed the entire time I was there. I even put the sign on the door that said "please clean" and when I woke up in the morning the sign had gone. I ended up having bites on my hip, forehead and arms. The air conditioning in the room did not work at all either. Breakfast was appalling. On both mornings I came downstairs to find most trays empty. I had to ask for the egg and bacon trays to be filled up and even when it was eventually done it was cold. I was so annoyed to the point where I did not even have breakfast on the third day.

Everything worked well apart from the shower, which was impossible to use without flooding the bathroom floor. Breakfast was fine, made more interesting on the last morning by the waitress having to stand between the only 2 other guests in the room to stop them coming to blows over the volume of a phone call.

Marie (6/5): - Trendy, contemporary style hotel. Loved the look inside the rooms, but the beds were hard as boards and the contemporary design of the bathroom gave no privacy at all. The shower is open and there was water everywhere after each shower. Looked cool, but totally lacked in function. Though the hotel was nice, trendy and clean, I wouldn't stay there again because of the neighborhood. Not a good part of town and definitely not a place to stay with children. The were two adult shops within a block of the hotel. There are other hotels of this chain in Paris in better neighborhoods you can stay in.

We asked to be changed to the hotel of our choice within the group & were told we could NOT transfer with out paying again. The hotel info booklet said bar open until 1.am, we made enquirers & were promptly told " No bar "
Callum (8/5): Complaint - Our stay was fantastic, however I'd like to make a formal complaint regarding checking in, our check in time was noon onwards when arriving at the hotel at 12 we where told that the room was not ready as a compromise we left and went for lunch and agreed to return in one hour as the receptionist reassured us we would be able to check in and shower and freshen' up after our long travels, when returning we continued to be told our room was still not ready after a further 45/50 minutes of waiting in the hot humid heat temperatures of that Friday in the reception area we where finally given the key to our room, this two hour delay to our check in is not good practice or service to a regular customer returning to the mecure franchise and brand, I would like some vouchers or compensation for the stress of our uncomfort for those two hours in the humid heat whilst sweltering not being able to use our shower facilities.
john (6/5): good base to to see sights with metro - The room although very modern was not large lacked space to put clothes and other items . there was no draw space very small drssing table .the washroom had glass doors so could see if anyone showring or on toilet ,overhead shower sprayed in to sink areabeing on main road was noisy although the double glazing did cut most noise out from gare du est station Didnt take advantage of breakfast as thought 18 euros exessive price 8 euros only a short walk from hotel could be obtained in one of the many cafes .Hotel was good for the metro 5 minute walk .the staff was very helpful and for that reason alone would stay again one tip dont but the paris pass just get a metro pass as most sights are reasonable priced up against the paris pass combined visit and travel
Susan (8/5): Great price for what you get - Well priced for Paris, not a particularly nice area, but located close enough to Gare du Nord to be convenient and just far enough away to be more comfortable. Excellent transport links, friendly & helpful staff, plenty of eating options nearby.
Michael (8/5): Good hotel close to Gare du Nord. - Good clean and modern hotel very close to main train station and subway.
Shannon (8/5): Not luxury but pleasant and convenient - Reception staff very helpful and obliging, especially Oleg, willing to book us dinner at Disneyland. Delicious breakfast, and our room had a balcony facing over the nearby train station which allowed for lots of sun into our room. Great proximity to Gare du l'Est and also Gare du Nord, although lots of guys hanging outside a bar to walk there on the street was a bit threatening there were no issues. Local supermarket and adult shop for all your needs! Room was small but clean although there was plastic over a hole in the ceiling it didn't affect the temperature. I think if you're a low maintenance traveller the price is right for location and service.
Michael (8/5): Handy for Gare du Nord - Nice clean hotel as you would expect from any Mercure hotel very convenient if you are travelling to or from the Gare du Nord
Ahmed (2/5): Avoid this hotel - The hotel is advertised as having a gym but I on check in I learned this was not true. When informed of this misadvertising, the hotel staff basically responded with "too bad" and refused to refund or discount our stay, even though I only chose the hotel because it claimed to have a gym. On top of that the rooms are tiny, the sheets gave me some kind of rash, and the neighborhood is filthy. Stay away no matter what.
Ikky (8/5): Nice hotel 5 min walk from Gare Du Nord - Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. I had my 9 month old baby with me and they did everything they could to make me comfortable. They heated my son's food and milk etc. They provided a Travel Cot for his stay. The front reception staff were very well spoken (English) and ever so helpful
RT (8/5): Good hotel. - Really handy for Gares Nord & Est. Easy walk to metro. Breakfast was good, and the hotel condition was fine. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Would use again.
CC (8/5): - Good location close to Gare du Nord, helpful staff, however rooms were a little cramped, mine was missing a ceiling tile. Beds were comfy and black blinds ensured a good night's sleep, however, the bathroom layout had not been thought through making the shower a bit of an assault course! Overall though, for the price, it was perfectly serviceable for a business stay - less so for leisure.
Essex Boy (8/5): Very handy for gare Du Nord - Everything about the hotel and room was fine. All I wanted was a base close to Gare du Nord and its just a short walk around the corner. The actual surrounding area is quite seedy so I wouldn’t hang around through choice, but a handy base to travel onwards or to explore Paris further. No restaurant though, didn’t bother me but just an observation. Free Wi-Fi always helps, I would use it again.
Verified traveler (6/5): could be better - well located near Gare du Nord. Clean but compact room. Nice breakfast. Internet (wifi) was not reliable. Room was a bit noisy because of the building's plumbing and/or heating systems.
frequent travel (4/5): stay elsewhere - large sign 'hotel climatisee'. Unfortunately air conditioning was not working and temperature in room was 27. Was given reduction for breakfast free but hotel made stay in Paris disappointing. Would not use again
