- Paul (10/5): A massive hotel in Tokyo that can provide for most of your needs in one building - The Hotel New Otani Tokyo The Main is a massive hotel found in Tokyo. It's a little ways from some of the main attractions so you might need to taxi your way in and out, but luckily when going out, there's always a fleet of taxis ready for you. The hotel itself is massive, with multiple restaurants, shops and even a very beautiful garden with multiple ponds and a waterfall. My room had a shower/bath combo and it was big enough for two people, especially considering the Japanese hotels tend to be smaller than other countries. They also provide several guides and maps to help guide you in this humongous hotel. My only very slight nitpicks was that there's two swimming pools, an outdoor and an indoor one. The indoor one seems to be reserved for special memberships and the outdoor one was only open in June. We went in May so we were a little surprised it wasn't open despite the beautiful and hot weather. They also have two gyms but both are pretty small and are surprisingly popular. We weren't able to get a decent workout in and I hope they think about adding another gym.

- Tan (9/5): A stay to pamper oneself - This hotel is away from the hustle bustle of the city. Has easy access to 3 metro stations, and is only 3-4 stations away from Tokyo, Ginza and Shibuya stations. The rooms are good size, well maintained and comfortable. The shin edo room is beautifully designed with the traditional Japanese touch, and it comes with a cypress bathtub. There many good restaurants within the hotel. The best attraction for me is the beautiful Japanese garden in the hotel. The customer service is good too.

This hotel consist of several buildings that are connected, plenty restaurants (you can also for 5-8 minutes and find even more restaurants in Akasaka Mitsuke area), small shops and a konbini. Nice spa area. The gym that is included in the price lacks equipment, the weights provided go up to 10 kg. The wooden bathtub needs extra scrubbing as we managed to get splinters while using it.

The hotel holds great history and the gardens are an awesome touch. The gym that is included within the price of the hotel is a little lacking in equipment. There is a paid alternative but is somewhat expensive because it comes in a package with other facilities.

The garden is amazing and walking there is a great way to start or finish a day. The staff is very nice and super responsive at any time. The buffet is amazing with breathtaking views overlooking Tokyo and even Mount Fuji if you are lucky. Overall the hotel has a great nostalgic vibe. The pillows were a bit hard for our taste

I was so tired and just wanted to get something to eat and not be prepared to walk and hit floors and escalators and and.. not what I expected. My room was blah, no coffee pod type machine and no walk in shower. Whilst packing I found a dead insect on my bed so called house keeping. Mr Akita came right away and took it and offered for me to change rooms but that late at night and all it was not ideal. He came back and offered me a room to sleep in which I took since I was not comfortable sleeping on that bed. That room was a nice upgrade! Wonder why they didn’t give that to me initially with my being a top tier I prefer member. It was great that the Airport Limousine Bus picks you up right at this location. That was convenient.

- 143nadimk (10/5): Lovely hotel complex in the heart of Tokyo, quiet yet very convenient - A lovely hotel with extensive beautifully managed garden space. Location is actually quiet in comparison to Shinjuku/Shibuya. Buffet Breakfast available on the 40th Floor of the Garden Tower with great views, especially over the Palace garden area. Triple room was very spacious (40m2) and with everything you may need. The hotel complex has multiple restaurants and shops but you are still quite close to restaurants in 5 minutes walk at Asakusa (go to roads around Esplanade Asakusa). The garden area is also used for Wedding Photos, particularly during the blossom season. All staff extremely polite and helpful. This hotel is on extremely large sloping plot with the lobby area in fact on the 6th floor of the Garden Towe area (check the link to the PDF of the map). This can be a bit confusing. If you are arriving in Japan for the first time at Tokyo, I would highly recommend this hotel which is a great start as the gardens bring out the best in Japan (plants, fish, waterfall), many restaurant food options both in and out of the hotel, great Buffet Breakfast with great views wither from the 40th floor or of the Garden (floor 7/lobby), your not in an overly busy area but very close to usefully well connected metro stations, with key attractions fairly close

- DCM70 (9/5): - Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen und hat mehrere Anschlüsse an Bussen oder Metro jedoch mit einer Mindestzeit von ca.: 10 Minuten zu Fuss. Das Zimmer war sehr gross und das Masterbett war das grösste Bett das wir je hatten in Japan ! Besonders der Garten des Hotels ist einzigartig wäre aber auch ohne Hotelübernachtung zugänglich gewesen. Die Rezeption war immer sehr hilfreich bei Fragen und selten überfüllt. Das gesamte Interieur hat uns sehr gut gefallen - wir haben allerdings auch auf das Frühstück (sollte gemäss aussagen und unseren Beobachtungen immer mit Wartezeiten verbunden sein. Wir waren einmal oben an der Skylounge - leider schliesst die Bar bereits um 08:30 Uhr und es gibt nur einen Counter der ca.: 10m von der Aussicht/Fenster entfernt ist. Die Preise sind sehr hoch für das was man erhält. Da es besonders in der Skylounge ein Buffett gibt haben wir dann darauf verzichtet aufgrund der Preise und der Aussicht dann weit weg von dem Fenster zu sitzen. Aber das ist kein wesentliches Problem für die Bewertung des Hotels gewesen und über alles waren wir wirklich sehr zufrieden.

This hotel seems to cater to big groups, and there was a lot of public space to accommodate them. The check in however took an hour from joining a fairly short queue to getting the key card. It’s not that close to the metro stops and you have to navigate a lot of corridors to get outside. Everywhere just seemed far.

- Trip48610035255 (8/5): 5 star hotel with 5 star service - 5 star hotel with 5 star service. Disappointed with the lounge, no drinks or food. Disappointed with the breakfast 3 star at best.
- Karen (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - The hotel is in a good location with beautiful gardens. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden tower with fabulous views. Whilst it was comfortable with everything we needed, we found our room to be dated. I would not expect a shower over the bath with a shower curtain for a room at the price we paid.
- Robin (10/5): Chiyoda Charm - Everything. The Otani hotel is a beautiful setting. The hotel gardens are pristine and meticulously well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is both away from the hustle of Tokyo central, but it is still convenient for trains and great restaurants. Nothing. I will return when in Tokyo.

- NickiB303 (10/5): A very pleasant and comfortable stay in an upmarket hotel - We stayed here for 7 nights, 4 of which were as part of a Riviera tour of Japan (we came out early ahead of the tour). Superbly managed hotel, excellent breakfast included in our price, helpful, friendly staff and very comfortable room. Location is great, a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station which takes you to Tokyo central. Only downside the cost of the in-house meals in the 20+ restaurants, but loads of more affordable restaurants in the town just a 10 minute walk away.
- Hans-Peter (9/5): In general, a very comfortable stay in an excellent hotel. - The size of the room and the cleaning service were excellent. The concierge was very helpful and competent. There were many shops and services available on site. The location was relatively close to the metro and trains but a bit of a distance to travel from many of the tourist sites.
