• Astrid (8/5): Overall, we had a wonderful time at The Hilton for a cityscape. We would go back again, especially for a cheeky drink at - Staff are exceptional, welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean and roomy enough for your large luggage for a king guest size. No bath in the bathroom which is fine with us. We stayed on level 24, overlooking Town Hall and QVB. We dined at Glass Brasserie, worth the experience. Great food with an amazing selection of wine to match. Ask to be seated by the window as it faces QVB. Don’t forget to seat in the same spot for breakfast too. Breakfast is delicious, especially when they can cook you an omelette or poach your eggs to your liking. I dislike when the bathroom floors get completely wet from the shower. I had to use extra towels to dry up the soaking floor so I wouldn’t slip. We stayed on a Sunday night and we were given a voucher for 2 free drinks at Zeta or Marble bar. Both closed on Sundays. The kind staff allowed us to drink at Glass Brasserie instead, which we enjoyed so much as it was quieter.
• Gemma (6/5): Nice place but won’t book again - I liked the view and the spa and the comfy bed I didn’t like how long we had to wait to get our room key which made us late to our event Saturday night. We got 2x fee cocktails voucher but didn’t have time to use it as we were late to our event and Sunday we left. The breakfast buffet was ok, once we got back to table after waiting in the queue the food we had was cold. I probably won’t book again.
• Jonathan (4/5): Disappointed. I chose this accommodation for the fitness and wellness centre. - Beds comfortable. Room dark. Rooms are dated and small. The spa and sauna facilities are dreadful. Unclean and for the most part inaccessible during what would be reasonable hours. I could not access the sauna at all - only open from 9am! I was already at work by then. Ran by a 3rd party - the cleaning in the gym and wellness centre left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I won't return to this accommodation.

What was disappointing was the pool hours as on weekend wasn’t open til 0900 which was a huge reason for choosing and therefore couldn’t use on checkout day with such a late opening hours.

• Samantha (10/5): Ideal for a stay in the city - Fantastic location for city visits, great bar and dining options on site, the rooms are clean and very quiet with blockout blinds that saw me sleep past sunrise for the first time in years. The rooms are very small and the pillows weren't great. An option for firmer pillows would have been wonderful.

( no glass in the room) - Tv was glitchy, reception went in and out. Only way to access streaming channels was to mirror from my phone. - No sauna - Gym is not part of the hotel

You needed to chromocast from your mobile phone and have apps to in order to watch. I didn’t download any apps that were required like Netflix Foxtel On the Go YouTube and others. Hilton need to upgrade their TV s to see Free To Air channels.. It was an overnight stay we used our phones to pass the time..

Quiet despite city location. Glass Brasserie food was excellent. Nice convenient cafe in the lobby for coffee and snacks. Space limited understandably in the city - bathroom was especially small. Gym was crowded as shared with Fitness First. Spa was not open after 7pm and overpriced.

Text messaging reminders were very useful. The lobby was quite airless at times, and felt a bit humid. It felt as if there was no ventilation on days when temps rose above 24 degrees.

• Taniad930 (4/5): A very poor experience - We had high expectations for staying at Sydney Hilton because we’ve stayed at the hotel and other Hiltons on many occasions. It's in a great location and we were optimistic about the service we would receive. This was sadly one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in a number of years for the following reasons: • The first room we were in was a good quality room but the AC did not function. We tried to fix it for hours and finally at around 10:30pm called the Magic reception line. Finally, an engineer arrived and said the AC was not working properly and he tried to fix it but said it would take at least a couple of hours to reach 19 degrees which is the highest temperature to achieve restful sleep (especially in a small closed room). Ideal sleeping temperature is 18-19 degrees. The Duty Manager then gave us the option to move to another room but failed to mention that it was an inferior room. • We took this option (moving all our things, which were all set up, at 11:30 at night, with a huge event on the next day) assuming it would be a better room and that the AC would work. Instead, it was a far worse room with no bath, no black out blinds (!), no storage space for our large suitcases, poorer quality linen and pillows and various other amenities that were in the first room yet missing from the second. To be offered a sub-standard room is completely unacceptable but we could not handle moving again and the Duty Manager did not appear to care or listen when we noted all of these issues. He appeared very inexperienced in terms of good customer service. • By this stage we desperately needed to sleep but again the AC did not work. We tried repeatedly throughout the night, and the fan level kept dropping and the temperature never dropped below 21.5 degrees despite all our efforts to reach 19 degrees. It was also extremely noisy. This combined with the lack of blackout blinds led to us having a sleepless night. • Furthermore, the hotel is seriously understaffed. We called the MAGIC line on a few occasions and ended up hanging up after 15 mins or more wait time on at least 3 occasions. This is completely unsatisfactory. • In the morning we needed another key cut and again there were just 2 staff on thefront desk on a Sunday morning when people were checking out and needing other support. • Top sheets below the duvet should be supplied because the duvets are too hot to sleep under when AC is not working properly. And cotton, not synthetic, blankets should be available to guests on request. You only need 10 or so and this helps guests who get hot at night. • The lifts were slow and breakfast was sub-standard for a 5-star hotel, with very limited and poor quality gluten-free options, limited fresh fruit and no tamari/soy sauce and coriander, spring onions etc for the congee and numerous other issues. We ordered a simple herbal tea and cappuccino but after 15 mins did not receive them and had to leave for our event. • The only saving grace was a good meal and service at Glass lfor dinner. We hope that the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves all of the above issues.

• Yasmin (8/5): A wonderful stay but not quite a 5 star hotel anymore. - Loved Alisa at reception when we booked in. She was friendly, accommodating and delightful - the Hilton is lucky to have her! The location of the Hilton in the city is fantastic. The view we had from our window was great! The receptionist when leaving was rude and too rushed (like we were an inconvenience). Was not impressed at all with the receptionist who booked us out. Also, my mother who is 86 years old, still reads the paper each day, I understand this is not common to younger staff, however there was no offer to have a paper each morning for my mother to read. Once a upon a time when I was growing up and my parents took me to stay at the Hilton, the staff could not do enough to please the customer. It's the little things that matter. On Good Friday night we were unable to get a snack at the downstairs cafe, so we went across to the Swissotel and had a snack and a drink, I think this is disappointing for a 5-star hotel.

• Tara (9/5): We love, love and we will be back to spend more of our love on each other and to explore Sirius Cove - Although our stay was short-lived as my partner and I are so very spontaneous and adventurous. Not for a second did we think we'd be spending a night at the Hilton. We do love to spend money and even more so, treat ourselves to luxuries in life of a different nature. After all we only live once, right. We will definitely be treating ourselves to such luxury yet again sometime soon and hopefully long enough to feel more of the Hilton specials touches. So thank you for have us. If it were ever possible, I wish the clock could have somehow been stopped so we had more time to enjoy the moment, our time together and each other, along with the experiences the Hilton might had in store for a young couple in such love.

Booked room 4303.Car was Prado mine vehicle with flashing light on top.Too tall for car park we pre booked in hilton.We had just driven 7 hours from home at Narrabri to deliver 7 boxes to a freight company in botany bay and return to Narrabri next day..Asked Ludvic if we could park 1 night in front of hotel.Ludvic a young doorman tried to help.he asked Vic an elder unshaven doorman if I could park 1 night where many others have parked many times at the front area.Vic looked me up and down and had a look of prejudgement and not a good tone saying no.Young Ludvic went inside to ask duty manager if I could park at front.I followed ludvic inside to talk to Celine duty manager.i repeated same question to Celine.She didn't ask how many times ide stayed,just said no.I explained this was the only time I've brought this Prado.i explained we had prebooked the carpark.Celine said it was complementary.Didnt even check how many times we had stayed or if we had prebooked the car park before talking. I said no it wasnt complimentary. .I said we've stayed here many times before and seen cars parked out front here many times and as nobody was parked there,could I please park there tonight.Celine stated nobody ever parks there only tradesmen.She was lieing as I've seen this many times.This upset me.I asked her how long has she been working here?Because It's impossible she is duty manager and never seen this or be aware of it happening.Celine said 2 years and I've never seen this happen.ive never seen Celine before.After asking her do tradesmen drive 4x4 $400k mercedes,transam and porches and park there all night? Celine said no this never happens. I asked her at least 3 or 4 times had she never seen this before? She said no I've never seen this.She knew i knew she was lieing.and was merely showing me whos boss and theres nothing i could do about it.So I told her she was lieing.and left.i was so infuriated.The room didn't have snacks either or minibar.i didn't call to ask as I really didn't want another interaction. Other management need to be made aware or this as it's truly not professional..Celine needs retraining.Young Ludwic was brilliant,he handled the situation perfectly.Didnt need to lie to me.He explained that cars did park there before but it had to stop due to blocking the driveway. Mostly its okay if you were to call before arriving and ask permission.If duty manager Celine did this instead of lieing I would've been fine.i saw Vic later and talked to him.He was most apologetic,so im fine with that.

• Sdbsjb (6/5): Could be good but needs better management of the lounge - Exec lounge needs much better control as its like a kids playground, really loud and inconsistent enforcement of policy. I got asked to leave as I had leather flip flops on yet kids in here in their pj’s, adults in sliders, singlets ……The lounge is far too small for the size of the hotel. We got a slightly upgraded room as a Diamond but the weakest benefit of our 7 week trip across the AP. I guess this is due to the volume of American Diamond members staying here pre/post cruises. That’s another issue to be aware of. The hotel and lounge in particular gets super busy when a mega cruise ship is in and the volume goes up to 11! Breakfast in the restaurant is great with a wide variety and daily changes. We met a female waiter in the breakfast from Nepal who was fantastic, sorry we didn’t get your name.

• tang (3/5): - Very careful of the invoice when u check out. They will overcharge you and you have to chase up again and again. Compared with price, not worth. It is just normal conditions as other hotels. Also with the very poor experience with the invoice when checked out. Please very careful of it when u check out.

• Piyal (9/5): Better than average this time. - We always enjoy staying at the Hilton on George Street. Usually all the facilities are excellently I think it would be good to have the shower doors closing properly and lifts working much faster.

• Wilmien (8/5): Nice weekend away stay - Great location and facilities, however the pool is only open certain times during the day. The Hilton is a major hotel and commercial. It doesn’t feel personal or intimate, which is fine/what you can expect. Breakfast was good, could have more variety.
