The hotel staff could not have been nicer - they were super helpful at all times. The hotel was very clean and the room was a good size. We loved the large bath! Location wise it is quite central with easy access to the Bonne Nouvelle and Sentier metros. This gave us easy access to all the sights.

- NYCTripper_11 (2/5): Pass…a lot better options in Paris - I am trying to come up with something positive to say but drawing a blank after an extremely disappointing stay at the Hotel L’Echiquier. The location lacks charm, the rooms are tiny (we couldn’t believe our room was called a junior suite given how small it was), breakfast was sad and service, especially the person who checked us in and out, terrible…but oh wait they have Clarins bath products so that must justify all the negatives. We booked a room last minute to accommodate our early arrival to Paris because our other accommodation was not available. We had stayed at multiple Accor properties before and have always found them great so Hotel L’Echiquier seemed like a good option. But the disappointment started as soon as we stepped in…I asked Yoann, the receptionist, if someone could help my husband with the luggage — we were traveling with a lot of suitcases and a baby so an extra hand would have been helpful and his answer was a flat no…a first for me having stayed at hundreds of hotels with incredibly helpful staff. And this attitude continued - can I get an early check in? No, only if you pay…but I have Accor status that says I am eligible …no rooms available (ok so rooms are available if I pay but not otherwise). Is there a place I can change my baby’s diaper — no; where do people generally change diapers? I don’t know, in France people don’t stay in hotels with babies….and the list goes on and on. I give this hotel a hard pass!

- hannahcJ1070OR (10/5): 5* hotel - great find! - The hotel was amazing- beautifully decorated, clean, modern- in a great location for walking distance to the train station and sights. The staff were so helpful, friendly and spoke brilliant English. Check in was efficient and we were chosen to select the advent calendar for the day and we won a magnum of Italian red wine, which was a lovely touch. Our room was spacious for 3 girls to get ready and sleep, clean and had all the necessities for a comfortable stay. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would certainly return. The only downfall is that we didn’t spend much time here due to a busy schedule but what a very well priced hotel that exceeded my expectations. A big shout out to the interns who were an asset to the hotel !

The hotel was really clean, great value for money and the rooms for 3 people were spacious. Nothing! Had an enjoyable stay. If I had one complaint, it seems our shower door was attached backwards which made getting in and out a little tight. It was more of an oddity than an inconvenience. The hotel breakfast was good. We ended up eating there every morning. Less than a ten minute walk to convenient metro stations. The staff was so helpful. When we realized we accidentally booked Moulin Rouge tickets for the wrong day, Aimee was so helpful. She went back and forth with me and the Moulin Rouge for about an hour until she resolved it for us. We are very appreciative. Great value for the price. We booked through Costco travel and paid less than comparable hotels elsewhere. Would recommend.

- Q6893CSrichardh (10/5): Stunning. - This is a stunning hotel. Although not very central, for us it was ideal - walkable from Gare du Nord and Notre Dame is about a half hour walk. We walked everywhere except when we went to the Musée Marmottan (a must visit for Monet) for which metro was needed (get the bonjour RATP app for your phone - you then use your phone as a metro ticket). The room (junior suite) was a good size. Breakfast is excellent. Had dinner one night in the restaurant which was good but the restaurant virtually opposite the hotel (l’Échiquier) is not to be missed for a real Parisian experience! The reception desk was extremely helpful.

The location is outstanding, the service is exquisite, the breakfasts are bountiful and delicious, and the rooms are superb. There is also a well equipped gym to help keep fit. The setting is beautiful, the location absolutely ideal, and our room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality options. The service really stood out. Every member of the team was attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. A special mention to César at the front desk incredibly helpful throughout our stay and full of fantastic recommendations that the children absolutely loved. An outstanding family experience from beginning to end. We can’t wait to return !

The rooms were spacious by Parisian standards. Excellent bed comfort and good soundproofing. Small bathroom with a rain shower and a toilet in the bathroom. (We didn't have breakfast here.) Overall, a very good hotel, located near metro lines.

It is well located, walking distance to Le Marais, Opéra, les Halles in a vibrant neighborhood with many restaurants. Their team always give me a warm and personal welcome, whether at the front desk or in their beautiful restaurant.

She couldn't have done more, the management should value her. Nice gift in room. We had dinner, the meat cut was inedible, too stringy and tough. Salad good! The first room that we were in, door to the shower ill fitted, backwards. Could not get in without squeezing in. The room was cold. We are 70years old, given the farthest room 519 from lift is not a good decision. Phone charger was not working, had to ask to use charger at reception. Towel rack above toilet, it nearly fell in toilet. We were given a new room, however, room 519 should not have been allocated, I am sure the cleaning staff would have noted the problem. The good staff salvaged the situation. Better lighting?

- Scott (6/5): - This was the third time that we have stayed at this hotel. It will probably be our last. We had numerous problems with our room including the plumbing not working and flooded the bathroom. I ordered champagne to be placed in the room while we were gone to surprise my husband when we returned but no champagne was delivered...surprise ruined. We were moved into another room where our key didn't work and we had to return to the front desk each day to have our cards re-coded. Finally on the last day we had requested for a van transport because of the number of pieces of luggage and we were assured that it would be arranged. Guess what....the wrong vehicle was sent.

Between two stations Strassbourg Saint denis and Bonne Nouvelle, this is the best place to be in Paris near the bustling grands boulevard. The boulevard gets very busy at night and you don't have to worry about getting there. All the bars serve till late night till next early morning particularly on saturdays. The classical spiral staircase and the old styled lifts were a work of art. The staff were super-friendly and the check in was breezy. cost and general cleanliness could have been better. the hotel had other large lifts but the floors were little cramped. The room was ok in size too. Bed was comfortable but could have been cleaner

La mida de l'habitació per tres era bona i els llits molt còmodes. Amb barnús i sabatilles, i tots els productes de bany necessaris com condicionador de cabells i crema hidratant pel cos. És d'agrair, també, que hi hagi planxa per la roba. El barri on és l'hotel és molt agradable. Com tots els hotels darrerament, una mica car.

- Angéla (9/5): - Kellemes belső kialakítású szálloda. Kényelmes volt a szoba. Kiemelkedően jó minőségű pipere holmival van ellátva a fürdőszoba. A reggeli finom volt és bőséges volt a választék. A szoba tiszta volt. Jól éreztük magunkat itt. A férjem az ágyat kicsit túl puhának tartotta.

- PeterLeuven1970 (6/5): Ok'ish boutique hotel - + : swift check-in, friendly front desk staff, comfy bed, good shower/water pressure, free bottles of water, free afternoon tea. - : suite looked much spacier and larger on photo than in reality, door separating the bedroom and living room did not close completely (we told this to the front desk staff but nothing was done to resolve this), sofabed was very uncomfortable, very small (second) bathroom, tv's in both rooms were somehow linked and switched off when my friend changed channels, carpets in the hallways and in the rooms are not the best option for customers who have allergies.

- US75 (10/5): Front Office staff is fantastic! - The entire experience at L' Echiquier was fantastic! We had to shift to L'Echiquier from our service apartment in Paris as the apartment was horrible and disgusting and totally opposite of what had been promised to us. As I had stayed at a MGallery hotel in Bangkok earlier, I was ecstatic to see they had some rooms left. After a quick call with Fredrick, we had 2 rooms. He worked out a better breakfast inclusive rate for us within a few minutes. The check in was prompt and and the staff was very helpful and sympathetic about our experience at the service apartment the day before and did a lot to make us comfortable. We got our rooms around 2 pm and the hotel had already put our bags in the rooms. Even though the rooms are smaller than what we are used to in Asia, they were neat, tidy and comfortable with a Nespresso machine, fridge, safe and tea maker. The bed and pillows were extremely comrftable. The bathroom was full of Clarins amenities and was very clean too. The housekeeping during the stay was very good and we always came back to a very clean room. The rooms had great sound insulation as there was ZERO noise in the room during the day or night! The breakfast had s small selection but the food was decent. The croissants were excellent! And the staff at the restaurant is very helpful and courteous and prompt with their service! Aimee at front desk was FANTASTIC! She gave us a lot of excellent recommendations about restaurants and also helped us prebook our airport cab. All the other staff at the Front Desk is also really great. They're all very helpful and go out of the way to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The hotel is located barely a couple of minutes on foot from the Metro station and there are a lot of great restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris!
