Guest Reviews
- Alfonso (10/5): - IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THATS WHY I USE THIS HOTEL FOR THE SECOND TIME.
- Dexter (10/5): - accessible
- Jakob (10/5): - We loved this hotel, great location near the world trade center mall and hop on hop off bus route. Coffee and dates in the lobby are delicious.
- Saleh (10/5): - I like the home feeling armmmthe building.
- James (10/5): - Very good place, good value and in the heart of the city. Easy access to corniche and Yas island.
- Aria (4/5): - The hotel needs serious attention. The location is convenient with late night dining options and local shopping but the room we were in had a tv that made a humming noise when it was on, the shower stopper was broken so we had to remove it, the AC did not work well and made a loud clicking noise, and there was a big dead bug that the cleaning crew missed several times during our 4 night stay. The room itself smelled like it needed air although we requested non smoking. We asked to be moved but there were no other rooms available so we suffered through it. The friendliness of the staff and the dining and nightlife options were the only redeeming factor. The staff even helped with wrapping our head scarves when we were leaving to tour the mosque.
- David (4/5): - Not much
- Nigel (10/5): Content - As expected
- Lay Tong (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff and comfortable room!
- Daniel (10/5): I love this hotel. - This is my hotel of choice in Abu Dhabi
- Sophie (10/5): Very nice - Great place with very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms and also quiet. Location is very nice because you are very close from all the buses to airport or main attractions and the free shuttle bus to many places comes right in front of the hotel.
- FARNOOSH (4/5): - The bathroom doesn’t have any hair dryer. Staff were nice. Bar was okay. Room condition was pretty bad. Bathroom in bad condition. For a couple it was only one towel. No toothbrush and toothpaste. Pool was super dirty and not cleaned.
- Shahid (8/5): - Customer service is good. They don’t have own parking. You use public parking, which is little uncomfortable. Breakfast buffet is fair. I rate 3 star hotel.
- Geoff (10/5): - The basic room was small but ok for 2 people. It was clean, the bathroom was dated but otherwise ok as well. There can be noise at times from neighbouring rooms when the people were loud but it was not bad. Bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper. The bed was a bit hard and the aircon and fan worked but not really the thermostat. It was just a matter of turning on and off the aircon if you needed it.
The included breakfast its good value. Its a plentiful buffet catering for the breakfast tastes of many nationalities. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
- Eyad (10/5): - Reception staff very friendly . Rooms very clean and spacious . Nice variety of restaurants and bars and a very nice night club .
- Ibrahim Isfendiyar (2/5): - Pictures and reality were far apart. Bathroom smelly.
- Matthew (10/5): - I have stayed at this property many times. One of the main reasons is the food. They have a great French restaurant (Le Beaujolais), which can also be ordered in their first floor bar. Overall a good hotel for the price. The location is good for access to shopping and the WTC Mall.
- Marie Jinkee (8/5): - I just loved the pool...
- Lal (2/5): Avoid staying here.. - Avoid staying here...the WiFi never worked in my Laptop, it worked once in a while in my phone. There was no parking i was expecting a parking with the difficult situation in Abudhabi, they asked me to park in paid parking outside. There was some maintenance going on and it was very noisy when i complained they stopped it..if possible find another hotel...
- Robert (10/5): Comfortable stay. - Very professional and personable staff. Lots of shopping to walk to.
- Marie Jinkee (8/5): - I like the pool . Not crowded but needs more cleaning
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room is not clean and there is a bad smell in the room. I think the smell come from the carpet because it is very old and dirty.
- Saidul (8/5): - It’s okay
- Bilal (10/5): - All the credit goes rombe at the reception, thanks a lot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Short stay - Great stay room is pretty nice clean, good size bathroom, gym is okay kinda out dated.
- Egaraj (10/5): - It's very good
I
Nice service
- MW (8/5): - Very courteous staff, was very helpful swapping rooms as I didn’t want a smoking room. Went from a suite to a deluxe room, which was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, loved their omelette! The attached French restaurant is also a treat and worth visiting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the fact that the staff were so nice and friendly especially chef Syed he would come out and check on the guests and would often ask if the dishes are ok
- Abdullah (10/5): - It was great thanks to SONA in front disk and thanks to Jaber care parking service
- me (8/5): - it was ok nothing over the top, room service a bit pricey, no hotel should charge for a bucket of ice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, the staff were very friendly and respectful. If I come to Abu Dhabi again I'd want to stay here.
- MW (8/5): - Great place to stay for the money. Pool is fairly nice, but the weight room is lacking enough equipment to support a serious workout.
Staff is very nice and the bar is pretty good as well.
- Bhagat (10/5): - Centrally located, nice gym and swimming pool. Room i booked was a bit small but its fine for 2 people.
- AE (10/5): - the room was so big and the bed was very convertable and great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great hotel for convenience, right in the city centre with easy access to everything. Hotel was basic but had the facilities needed for a comfortable stay.
- Houda (8/5): Ok with comments - The breakfast was not really good the coffe doesn’t taste good and and no good variety of everything the charged me 300 lira deposit for my 3 night stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Happy traveller - Had a good stay the place is quiet and staffs are friendly and the location is accesible to any
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location in heart of city. Friendly staff. Quite clean.
I didn’t like changing park from free to chargeable.
- KVD (8/5): - Good location and excellent sized rooms.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was right. The hotel staffs were nice.An indian restaurant would have been nice.
- Mohamed (10/5): - Simply beautiful, love the big windows, the location is amazing, staff were polite and professional, good WiFi. Just love it.
- Simon (8/5): Hotel with great location - Very good hotel in downtown Abu Dhabi
- Clara (2/5): - This was a terrible experience we arrived at two pm to check in our suites were gone they had overbooked the hotel. Then they try to offer us regular rooms and due to the inconvenience they offer me complementary breakfast but hello we had already paid breakfast it was included in what we had paid so I make them understand that what they were offering we already have paid for. They show me the room that were offering me instead of the suite I had paid for the windows were dirty the floor smells like cigarette all over the place it smell bad this hotel needs serious renovation finally after complaining for everything that was so wrong they invited us to have lunch well I thought ok they are trying to make things write but the lunch buffet was awful the only thing that could be rescue was the salad bar the rest was very spice food mostly indian. In general will never stay here again the hotel is terrible.
- Roger (10/5): Quality hotel and staff - Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, nice restaurant and lounges, great location, able to walk to many areas for shopping, dining and night club is close for those interested.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel in the center of Abu Dhabi
- Kazzam (10/5): - I was very happy with all aspects of the hotel. The manager Lee was extremely friendly and helpful at all times along with the reception and bell staff. Sali who looked after my room was polite and friendly and made my stay very comfortable.
We were also invited to the Christmas party which was enjoyed by all the hotel guests and joined in the carol singing session.
The location of the hotel is superb and you can get public transport bus from right outside the hotel. Please bear in mind that you have to purchase a visitor's card to travel on the bus or purchase a rechargeable card from Al Wahda Mall if you are a frequent traveller to Abu Dhabi.
There are plenty of restaurants nearby and my favorite was Royal Rajasthan which is 5 minutes from the hotel.
It is worth visiting the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Emirates Palace hotel and the heritage village. r
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For a Airport hotel. It was not to bad, would I use it again. Yes if I had too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel in a central location - good value and all staff helpful
- Robert (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel in Abu Dhabi City Center, close to most things in the City Center. The people that work at Novel are always wonderful. The lounge on Floor 1 has the best Happy Hour in the city.
- Syed (6/5): - A reasonable hotel with average amenities!
The location is very good as all landmarks are accessible
- Sam (10/5): - Early checkin, comfortable room, good location and bus 290 and 300 for the Airport stop a few minutes walk away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room, the hotel is at the center of the city.
- Yousouf (8/5): Abu Dhabi business - Good central budget hotel. Excellent valet parking, courteous reception and housekeeping.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No good rubbish rooms all broken stuff shower broken not working Nd water not going through basin
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hotel in a central location in Abu Dhabi City Center. Near the World Trade Center and close to Corniche Road and Beach. About 3 km to the Abu Dhabi Mall. Great and very nice, friendly staff.
- Greg (4/5): - Novel Hotel list itself as a 4 star hotel, but please know that it is barely a 3 star. Upon check in I requested face towels, after 3 phone calls I finally received. I returned to my room at 2 pm to find it was still not cleaned. Housekeeping came at 415 to clean the room. They left one shampoo, and one body lotion. Had to make another phone call to request body wash and conditioner. First morning I requested a hair dryer at 530 am when I realized it was missing. 545 another call, 600 another call, and they finally delivered at 625 as i was leaving the room. The price was good, but how difficult is it to make sure you do the little things correctly?
- PAUL (8/5): Not sure I’d bother next time! - Generally happy with the stay had a good sized corner room on the 16th floor so it was quiet for our 4 day stay. On the middle day we had no maid so had to ring for toilet roll etc. but apart from that the cleaning service was good. However reception were not so good gave the impression that couldn’t really be bothered to serve. This lack of attention cause them to give poor advice about an airport taxi which was totally in correct resulting in me and the night porters having real difficulty getting a taxi a 4am making me late for check in. Don’t believe the taxi shuttle in the details they don’t offer it!
- Bikesh (6/5): Please have a clean spoon - Every thing was okay except the spoon i find it dirty and i found empty packets of snacks under the bed.
- Brian (6/5): Short business trip - Rubbish bins was not provided with bags, only laundry bags was provided after asking. Room condition was not well maintained. (Hotel provided free room upgrade) Shower curtain rods keeps dropping, causing a startle as it is not a permanent fixture. Stay here only for location but not recommend for long stay.
- Penny (8/5): - Good for the price. Handy location, easy to catch the city explorer bus
- Jo (10/5): Lovely city centre hotel with great staff - We wanted to stay very centrally with access to all the attractions and this fitted the bill. They also helped us to arrange unique excursions.
- Mariem (8/5): - Clean hotel and convenient location
- Robert (10/5): Very Nice Hotel City Center Abu Dhabi - This was a very nice hotel, with wonderful, kind staff. This hotel is central to city center and convenient to most things.
- Jayaraj (8/5): Good Hotel - Nice hotel in heart of city, friendly staff, good for family, hazzle free check-in/check-out
- Verified traveler (8/5): - ADEQUATE. ENOUGH
- Suzan (6/5): Good value for money - Good If you're looking for something to stay the night and not for something luxurious.
Overall experience is good. I would describe it as a good 3 stars hotel (not 4 stars) .
- colin (4/5): new management - this hotel was the MERCURE, a good standard hotel, but now the changes have NOT been for the better. Perhaps time will tell but the last visit was disappointing.
- Samson (8/5): Pleasant Stay - The hotel is well located and the staff are pleasant. Close to many restaurants and shopping areas. Public transport/ Taxi easily accessible.
- Sukhmeet (4/5): They don’t let under 12’s on the pool - The hotel wouldn’t allow my daughter in the pool because she’s 3 even though we would be in there with her the whole time, they said minimum age for the pool is 12. So we had to pay to use another hotels pool down the road from this one, decent hotel, but I won’t be staying here again for the above reason
- David (8/5): Overall a nice hotel in a good location, - Some rooms a bit tired but clean spacious and tidy, really nice and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet good value for my money. However Chinese restaurant on second floor is terrible. Battered prawns, described as golden were fair sized prawns in thick greasy batter which was also wet and slimy in the inside. Noodle dish was more like a cheap thick pasta with a strange slightly fishy taste. My advise would be to stay at hotel but do not use the Chinese restaurant.
- chris (6/5): Good location - First room not good. Moved to a better room. Hotel location and service good.
- SAEED (8/5): Fantastic - Wonderful stay
- Brian (8/5): Comfortable Hotel Near Corniche - This is an affordable, good quality hotel near the Abu Dhabi corniche. The rooms have ambient rather than direct lighting, which was a good use of room space and soothing in the evening, but seemed to be a bit dark during the day. The walls are also a bit thin, as I heard stuff happening in the next room. Breakfast is solid. The valets have a really odd sense as to when they should and should not offer assistance. There is always a taxi outside, and it is an easy ride to the Louvre and the Heritage Village, though Zayed Mosque is more distant.
- Nicholas (10/5): French Hotel with French speaking staff - Well located and it is like boutique hotel. Very functional even if it is old. It is still very confortable with swimming pool on the roof and sauna and very good restaurants.
- andy (8/5): - 9 day stay in abu dhabi this hotel is in a great location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice hotel in good location - nice hotel for it star rating staff were pleasant and friendly rooms clean and comfortable with nice restaurant and bars and the free water was much appreciated close to shops and beach and easy transport links near by overall a very pleasant stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): I got what I paid for. - Rented the junior suite for 2 nights. Pleasant, clean and comfortable. The hotel should upgrade the televisions in the room to a bigger screen, considering this was a junior suite. Room service was decent , several restaurants to choose from . Avoid the lobster dish from the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. They entire dish tasted like chili. Over powered the lobster. For a dish costing 180AED. it was not near worth the money. Other than that my stay was pleasant, parking was a minor issue , but considering its downtown it was expected. I paid 15 AED a day for parking , no big deal. The staff were helpful and very professional. All in All, it was worth the money and I would recommend.
- Joey (8/5): Nice affordable - Always stays here when I come to Abu Dhabi as it is close to everything and fits what I need. My only experience that the management changed is that they charged now for amenities like slippers, razors and etc which should be included with your room rate.
- Marvin (8/5): Fast service... - Prompt action in my request to borrow board and iron..
- Stephanie (10/5): Husbands Big Birthday - Booked a six night stay for my husbands big birthday. We arrived early after an overnight flight. I'd already contacted hotel to see if we could check in early. They said if room was available that would be ok. It was. Check-in was fast & we were up to our room in no time at all.
As it was a special occassion I'd contacted the hotel prior to travel to see if they could offer me anything as we were celebrating a special birthday. They provided us with a birthday cake & a beautiful floral arrangement ( at no cost to me) & the housekeeping staff dressed our bed with a birthday greeting done in flower petals. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was fabulous. Room was very spacious. Cleaned thoroughly everyday.
- Gordon (6/5): - Based centrally and a good selection of bars clubs and food places within 5 minute taxi ride
- Mike (8/5): Business in Abu Dhabi - Good hotel for business ppl; less so for tourists. (Pool is small & poorly located, practically in the shade all day. Restaurants are OK but nothing special. Sports bar is tucked away but very friendly.
- Shaju (8/5): Great - We really enjoyed the stay in Mercure Hotel. All staff were very cooperative and helpful. Only issue we faced was the parking for our vehicle. We suggest you to arrange free parking for Hotel guests.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The stay was good and comfortable.
- John (4/5): Disappointing staff, below average hotel. - Booked and pre-paid for a twin non-smoking room through Expedia. On arrival we were told they didn't have any non-smoking twins available for the first night, but we would have one for the rest of our stay. We were given a lower-grade room with an extra bed for the first night, which was disappointing, but not the worst result.
The following morning we confirmed with reception that our new twin non-smoking room would be available that night and were promised it had been reserved.
When it came to changing rooms for the second night, we were taken to a new room, but it was a smoking room. The stench was horrific. We were then told that there were no other non-smoking twin rooms available because they were fully booked. We pointed out that they had promised us the non-smoking room, but this fell on deaf ears. After an hour of the staff working out what to do, we were told we were lucky that a non-smoking twin room had become available and we could use it.
I'm sorry, we were not "lucky". The final room we got was what we expected, but the hassle and arguing with the staff was unacceptable.
Will not stay here again. Has seriously tainted my view of the Mercure chain.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent atmosphere - This is a great hotel. It offers many choices to eat and for entertainment. It is close to the Abu Dhabi mall. Check in and out was quick and easy. Room key has to be scanned to operate the hotel, which is nice for extra security. Room service was quick and tasty. Breakfast buffet was adequate with several choices, for a good price. The only down side was that the mattress was a bit firmer than I prefer. However, everyone has different tastes for mattresses. I will stay here again.
- Frederick (6/5): Convenient and value for money - relaxing and enjoyable!
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst hotel ever!! - It was the worst stay ever. We requested them for additional towels since the towels inside the room is only 1pc. After our checkout, the following day they called saying we took 3pcs of towels from them. We said we didn't took any but will check in our luggage. We called them back to tell them that we didn't get any towels.. This guy from the reception or whoever called us was so rude. He even told us that the towels we took are more expensive than our stay in that hotel. We will never stay again it that hotel ever!!!
- Joey (8/5): Nice affordable - This is my third stay on this hotel. It is a nice 3-4 star hotel that is close to a lot of things. World Trade is within walking distance. The malls are only around 5-6 dirhams on a taxi. The staff are wonderful especially the front staff Princess and Mary. They are very helpful. Housekeeping is clean. Food at the Chinese retaurant on the second floor is excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very acceptable at that price - Very good location, has very good china restaurant, clean and good double bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I rated it as pleasing overall however it is a little older but it was clean and convenient.
- Brian (6/5): OK hotel for its price but subpar neighbourhood - Hotel itself was ok for its price. However, its neighbourhood was not so great as there were a lot of strangers hanging around and trying to sell fake iphones and stuff. They kept following me while speaking in Arabic which made it really uncomfortable for me. In addition, it doesn't have a parking lot and if you bring a car, you have to park in pay parking lot under a nearby building. To be fair, if you are going to be here just for a sleep without your car, it is okay hotel to stay. But otherwise I wouldn't recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent place to stay in the heart of town - Room:
Decent size, attached bathroom was very clean when I entered.
There’s good wifi in the room.
Service:
The housekeeping gentleman and the concierge were very nice to me. Probably because I was the only guest who bothered to greet and talk to them.
The guy at the receptionist wasn’t that warm though. I hope it’s a cultural thing. But then again, he was very friendly and courteous to other guests who speaks his language and also who are of a similar race.
Location:
40 minute walk to the main bus station.
Fast food outlets are located only 1 minute away.
As the hotel is centrally located, the surrounding areas are bright and always bustling with activity. It didn’t feel unsafe at all.
- Chris (10/5): Excellent staff. Decent rooms - Just returned from a 3 night stay. Having lived in Abu Dhabi 20 years ago, and having been regular diners at their restaurants, we always stay here on our returns to Abu Dhabi. Very happy with the room, just what we asked for. The front desk staff were very courteous and welcoming. We ate in the Beaujolais restaurant, and it was as good as always. the location on the hotel means that it is always easy to pick up a taxi, but the weather was so nice, we tended to walk most places.
I was ill on the last night and the night staff were extremely helpful in getting me to a clinic at 1.30 am... for which I was very grateful. As long as we return to Aby Dhabi, this will be our hotel of choice.
- Shailendra (10/5): Value for money ! - The stay was quite pleasant and comfortable . the rooms were done up well Green conscious!!
Would recommend others too.
- Barry (6/5): Ab Dhabi F1 - Hotel is in s busy area but is walkable to the right end of the corniche , staff and facilities are great and it's OK for an F1 visit where you are hardcore f1 , if you want more time in your hotel there are better
- Nick (8/5): Nice hotel centrally located. - Only negatives were some of the lights had no visible controls and the tv was located in a very odd position. Almost impossible to view from any place you could sit.
- Mariano (8/5): Very close to evrything - Great place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - highly recommended
- edmond (10/5): - nice
