It is a great location, clean rooms, and the service is always great from the front desk, bellman, and breakfast dining personnel. We have stayed here several times over the past four years. A special recognition to Angel (bellman) and Carlos (breakfast dining room manager). Both are amazing ambassadors for this location. Every time we stay it is like seeing family in another town. They were especially helpful in 2025 when I had a heart attack in NYC. They bent over backwards to moving bags to new rooms for my family for an unexpected week "vacation" in NYC.

The hotel was pretty quiet and we were well rested for our long days of walking around the city site seeing. The staff overall were very pleasant and helpful. When we needed a couple of extra blankets, they brought them up to us within 10 minutes. It was our first time taking our twin daughters to NYC. They loved staying at this hotel. They especially liked the breakfast and said it was “one of the best breakfasts ever”. Carlos and Claudia were especially great and made sure we had everything we needed every morning. We’d highly recommend this hotel.

She booked a room at the Residence Inn by Marriott, and - honestly - it far exceeded our expectations. We were particularly pleased with Room 1704, as well as the team (led by Claudia, Guest Services Manager), who put her there. Claudia worked hard to make my Mom's stay the best that it could be! *Much, Much Gratitude* As you may note from my photographic evidence, so to speak, it was a wonderful and spacious place in which to stay. The nice touches of the complimentary breakfast, laundry room, 24/7 workout space and fruit infused water (available in the lobby at all times), made Mom's big stay extra special and enjoyable. They also have a grocery pickup service for guests, which we didn't utilize, but it was lovely to have that option. : ) All in all, it was a world class experience. Highly recommend! Rooms clean, feels safe, well located etc. The check in staff is prompt and efficient and welcoming. But the real gem here is the staff in the room where they serve breakfast. They go above and beyond to help the guest. I was traveling with my 90 year old mom and they couldn’t do enough to make her feel comfortable. Their names are Carlos and Claudia - thank you for your hospitality. The dining room is also quite large and they have lots of different hot and cold foods.

For people staying for a week, like us, this allows to not have to eat out for every meal. The staff was exceptionally caring and helpful. At breakfast every day, Claudia and Carlos would ask me how my husband was doing and offer encouragement. When my cell charger failed, the engineer loaned me his personal charger overnight. He also opened a wine bottle for me. And when I had trouble printing out documents, C. vasquez at the front desk printed them out from her email. You simply could not ask for a more helpful or kind staff, and I am extremely grateful to them all.

- dhepstein (10/5): Great stay at a great midtown location - We just completed a four day stay at the Marriott Residence Inn Midtown East on 48th St. It is an exceedingly well maintained and staffed hotel and in a great location. The room sizes and appointments, including kitchenettes, are more than adequate and appeared to have been recently updated. The main lobby and breakfast areas are very roomy and well illuminated. In addition, the level of service there was excellent, including Claudia and Carlos, who staffed the breakfast buffet, and who were exceptionally helpful and courteous, not the least in helping with our four young and less than tidy grandkids! I highly recommend this hotel for future stays.

The location couldn’t be better — just steps from restaurants, shops, and Grand Central Station, making exploring Manhattan incredibly easy. The King Suite we stayed in had everything we needed including a large refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, toaster and a complete set of dishes, glassware, etc. Great for dealing with leftovers from dinners out. There was a bathtub (at our request). We asked for something quiet and we ended up in Room 817 that had essentially brick walls for the view but it was dead silent. (I asked and they told me just to ask for the brick wall view if we want another room like that in the future.) The free breakfast buffet was great! The reception personnel were friendly and helpful. Great location. And it was very competitively priced. It's everything I could ask for in a Manhattan hotel.

- Brenda (4/5): waste of money - the staff was nice and the buffet breakfast was decent, neat room and common areas. Because I booked with booking.com , that placed restrictions on my reservation. Which mean instead of paying the a part up front and a part after the stay was completed, I had to pay it all upfront. This ended up being a huge mistake and problem because the stay was only for one night and there were disruptive equiptment noises that kept me from sleeping well. The one night check for a good night sleep was my entire point of booking. Sadly that did not happen and because I paid everything up front, there was no way to recoup my losses at all.

Around 10 minute walk from the Grand Central Station. 10 minute walk from The Rockefeller. Rooms are big enough, with a kitchenette and complete amenities. Clean, and breakfast is pretty good. Just needs to change the menu after every couple of days because you'll get tired of eating the same thing when staying for 10 nights. Shoutout to Carlos from the F&B. He's very friendly and made us feel welcome. He managed to chat with us even if he's very busy. We'll come back again.

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Essex house for a lot more money, and it wasn’t as nice. Instead of repeating what others have said, I’m going to add some updated photos so prospective guests can get a better idea of the rooms and the included amenities (such as dish detergent, paper towels, dishes). There’s self serve laundry on site but I didn’t use it. Free breakfast.

The hot food wasn’t overcooked. The oatmeal had lots of tempting toppings and the pastries were fresh and tasty. Thank you Claudia, my husband was grateful for the peanut butter!

Restaurant managers, Claudia and Carlos, will personally great you at the entrance and will address all of your requests. Their team is always very courteous and efficient. Do not miss their scramble eggs: always juicy and tasty!
