- Kwok (1/5): "HORRIFIC" experience. The most Shitty Hotel Experience with Booking.com - My 11 night experience with this Imperial Hotel at Kowloon, Hong Kong was "HORRIFIC"
As checking in and got the room key to my assigned room, I found the hotel was pretty old, showing severe wear and tear, and the room was in a state of total disrepair. Specifically:
Non-functional Amenities: All the curtains were broken and did not function.
*Severe Plumbing Issues: The sink was clogged, and the bathroom drainage was so poor that the floor turned into an "indoor pool" after every shower.
*Unsanitary Conditions: There was an overwhelming, foul smell throughout the room, making it feel as if I were sleeping inside a drainage pipe. The bedding also had a very unpleasant odor.
*Air Conditioning: The AC unit—the most essential feature—was extremely noisy like an aircraft engine next to your ears and failed to Cool the room at all.
*Infestation: There were cockroaches everywhere in the room. This is a massive hygiene and health concern.
*Attempt to Mask Odors: To make matters worse, there were air fresheners placed in every corner of the room. This proves the hotel was aware of the foul smell but chose to mask it rather than fix the underlying plumbing issues.
*Construction & Noise: There was constant renovation noise every single morning that woke me up early. The hotel felt more like a construction site than a place of rest.
*Safety Hazards: The plastic floor tiles were coming apart and were sharp enough to hurt my feet while walking in the room.
*Lack of Accountability: When I raised these issues with the hotel staff, they claimed they could not help and directed me to Booking.com. Conversely, Booking.com told me to deal with the hotel. "Runaround" game...
*Imperial Hotel Mattress width 35in: You have proof the bed isn't a standard size.
*Imperial Hotel Hotel DEODORANT Next to my bed: This proves they knew about the smell.
****Imperial Hotel Hotel finds molding everywhere: Mold is a health hazard. Booking. ****Cockroaches Welcome you at the Hotel room*****
****No Air Conditioning in Room*****
****No hot water for the shower*****
****Bathroom drains clogged all the time
****Drainage smell from the pipe and spread the whole room****
****Renovation next door wakes up in the morning****
****The bed is only 35 in / 89mm by width****

********Want to walk out once check in but the hotel staff said "No". We still charge you because it is a pre-paid booking.
He said you have the right to walk out, but the payment is not refundable.
Calling Booking.com for help. They helped nothing.
My holiday time was spoiled by this booking.

- Eleonora (6/5): -
- Ankit (1/5): -
- Yasin (3/5): - Location to shop and restaurants Poor servuce, dirty and unhygenic
- JonTeoh (2/5): First & Last - Price considered quite low among others in TST area.
But the facilities and hotel interior are old.
TV switched on not even 5mins will automatically switch off by itself.
Air-con switched off still feel cold.
Telephone was useless as I tried to call Reception, Housekeeping, Duty Manager for several times 2 days consecutively but no one answer.
The water dripping nonstop in the toilet bowl.
One of the shower room glass door missing, caused the whole bathroom was wet entirely.
The wifi was unstable.
"Machinery" noise in the room for 4 nights.
Not recommend for high floor as the elevators only have 2, very slow.
Check-out very fast. The staff one hand took over the keycard, another hand pointing at the exit door, without saying a word.
The only key advantage is location, super convenient.

- 387mackym (6/5): Good location. Not worth the price. - The amount that you're paying for this hotel is 95% convenience for the location and 5% for the room.
Finding the hotel - Imperial Hotel is in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui along Nathan road. Few steps away from the TST MTR station. Walking distance to Victoria Harbour, Temple Street and a lot of shopping stores within the area.
Check in - checking in was smooth. Just show your passport and they will hand you the keycards shortly. We were not asked for a security deposit for tge 3 rooms that we booked.
Elevator - hate the elevator!!! I dont undersrand why theyput a little humps before going to the eelvator knowing that 90% of their guests have luggages. If ypu dont see the hump, you wpuld wither trip or the wheels of your luggage will be damaged.
Rooms - its clean but out dated. The tpilet bowl in our room is not working properly. Beds mattress are hard. Aircon is good. Shower has hot and cold. If you want room cleaning it needs to be requested before noon otherwise they will not clean it.
Price- its on the expensive side guven that its old and not that spotless in terms of cleanliness.
You could spend your money on a better hotel cheaper than this. But if you have the money a d you need concenience in location, this can be considered.
- Ovesh (5/5): -
- Delmendo (3/5): I do not recommend this place. - To be fair, it's location is GREAT and I think that is what this hotel is known for. Also since it is an entire building, you get the elevator for yourself - you don't share it with other tenants just those who stay in the hotel itself so it does not take too long to go up or down. Wifi was working nicely and was quite stable. There is ref and TV in the room and the beds and pillows were comfortable too. Although there is a safety deposit box in the room, the part of the door where the safety latch is attached looked like it had been forced open before so I did not leave valuable things behind. Also, the staff who spoke to me was friendly and helpful. I was expecting a "hotel-like" accommodation basing it off on the name and the photos. First off, the room smelled like sweaty feet. We had to buy a room spray to get through our stay. The paint of the walls were chipping off and had child's drawings which makes it creepy. The bathroom did not smell nice either even if the rusted vent was working. The toilet bowl itself is filthy. They did not clean the room during our stay. There was no mention of having to ask for it so we thought it should be a regular thing. To top it all off, even our trash was not cleared. They also do not have water dispenser for the guests.
I hope the hotel does something about it's facilities. The lobby looks nice but their rooms need a lot of improvement.

- Cynthia (7/5): Expect as in the comments. Could be cleaner in general. - Proximity to money exchange and mtr station Worn out. No coffee/tea. Need to ask for toiletries. The room smells
- KWOK HON (8/5): - Excellent location to have excitement and fun around the city. Plentiful dining options nearby, from $ to $$ . Staff was courteous, helpful and fast to respond. However, rooms were just a place to rest at night, cleaning work needed urge from the front desk. Advanced reservation could get a better price and walk in had least guaranteed.

- HISASHI (4/5): -
- Ömer Hamza (1/5): - I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
We didn’t like anything about it. The rooms smelled terrible and were extremely dirty. Please don’t be fooled by the hotel’s entrance — do not make a reservation without seeing the rooms first, or better yet, avoid this place altogether.
We’ve stayed in many hotels before, but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. One of my friends even had to spend the night in the lobby because the room was just unbearable. Unfortunately, this hotel was a complete disappointment for us.
- Yash (6/5): Pleasant -
- YIU (8/5): - The above comment is fair and just. This is a budget hotel situated at the most convenient location. The interior decoration and furniture are tired, aged but they are still all functional. You got what you had paid.
- Alberto Mateo (10/5): - nice location
- Rosario (2/5): ugly and dirty - location only near to everything whole hotel smelly room small bathroom smelly no toiletries no coffee like other hotel very old so many things that is rundown

- Yusuf (4/5): Disappointing -
- Salah (4/5): - No soap, no slippers, no coffee, the furniture is old and the room smells of smoke.
- Francis (4/5): - Bug found all around in room, including exchanged room on different floors.
- Richard (7/5): Good - The place is abit rundown, needed renovations. The bed springs can be felt, too old the mattress. There's smell of mildew.
- Mimie (1/5): very bad experience because the room is dirty - poor the room is very small and dirty
- Shafi (4/5): - It’s very convenient
- Verified traveler (2/5): SCAM by hotel staff - Beware 3 hotel staff ask to see my credit card for the payment . One of them holding my card reading the 16 digit card number in Chinese to other staff writing it down on paper plus the expiration date . Will the other staff was talking to me about changing to room type blah blah .. I noticed and ask for my card back .. he handed over flipping the card back tell his colleague to write down the 3 digit security code !!! SCAM ? Imperial Hotel
- Harrison (6/5): - Poor condition, bath room
- Cosmopolitan338921 (2/5): Horrible Holiday Stay at The Imperial Hotel - Tsim Sha Tsui - To begin with, we had initially booked a Superior Twin Bed Room type for three nights from November 21 to November 24. I specifically requested for a non-smoking room with a city view. But to my surprise and disappointment, it was not given to us. Here’s our horrible experience at their hotel:
1. I requested for non-smoking room and city view but upon entering the room it smells like cigarette and our window is facing the big wall of the nearby building. We bought an air freshener and used it during our stay, we even sprayed their elevator every time we go out.
2. The floor is dirty, some lights are so dim and old.
3. Toilet exhaust fan is not working, same with sprinkler at the ceiling.
4. Unfriendly manager and staff
5. Telephone is not working.
6. Sliding glass door is defective and not secured. When my husband tried to close it, it breaks & shattered into pieces! He got wounds on his arms and legs. Thank God! It did not fell on his head!
7. When I asked them if they can offer atleast for a free shuttle going to airport, they said no such thing available.
It is more than obvious that our anniversary was spoilt due to their low quality services, poor room condition and false advertising promises. We feel that we are entitled to a compensation or a monetary refund for all this inconveniences. But they refused. Truly sad and disappointing!
- Ian (4/5): - It was the middle of winter and there is no heating so it was really cold. Blinds on the windows could not be raised because of knots tied in the cords. The bathroom was like walking into a dark cave.
- Roselyn (9/5): The location is perfect, we're all comfortable during our stay. - The Location There's no free Coffee
- jamesfC6207DY (4/5): Honest Review - Honest Reviews

5. Bathroom is old with stains of leak in the ceiling.

- Mohamed (1/5): Bad - Remove from Booking , com list Everything
- Gonzales-dioquino (3/5): The price of the room was significantly inflated and did not align with the state of the room. The ceiling was moldy an - The location was convenient because the bus from the airport stops right in-front of the hotel. And the staff were very helpful. The property was old. The bathroom was moldy and needs to be updated. It had a certain moldy smell as well. And it had tiny cockroaches.
- CAROLINA (2/5): - Filthy and worn out. You feel like you’re inhaling molds.
Saving grace is its location.
- 629charlies (2/5): Dirty Imperial - Yuck hotel. Front desk is ok staff but the room is already worn out toilet is some cheap plastic and the room is full of mold. It’s so dirty totally disgusting. For $150 USD a night with no Water no adopters government of HK should close this hotel.
Warning!!! Do not book this hotel

- Aileen (1/5): Room is very dirty. There were Cockroaches in the room. Walls have stains. Molds are present. -
- Emelyn Calaoagan (8/5): - Close to everything especially transportation, malls & attractions. The rooms need to be repainted. Dirt marks all over the wall so suggest to repaint the room to look cleaner for the customer.
- Karen (2/5): Mold! Should be reported to health authorities. - This place looks NOTHING like the pictures. They have a serious MOLD problem, which is visible in hallways, inside rooms and showers. The lobby is decent but I have seen three of their floors, and three rooms, none of them are like the pictures you see on Hotels.com. ALL 3 floors and rooms that I saw have mold. The staff is very accommodating and willing to switch my room but in the end there was not a room that didn't have mold, so yes we slept in a moldy room for a few nights.
- K6432KCronaldog (6/5): Great Place to Stay value for money - If you look for the place to stay within Tsim Sha Tsui this place is a good choice at midrange budget and good location but don't expect for a better facilities, the staff are friendly although the rooms need to be upgraded.
