Guest Reviews
- christine (10/5): - Nearby shops/restaurants. Easy access to the tube a block away. Very quiet, private setting.
- Dean (10/5): - Zero complaints
- MAIA- MARI (8/5): - Perfect accommodation for my needs
- V115BMamyt (10/5): Convenient and comfortable Kensington hotel! - Highly recommend this charming, comfortable hotel in a fantastic location! The staff were friendly and helpful. The tube stop is a block away. The room had thoughtful details.
- Shaun (7/5): As expected - Great location Small room
- Barbara (4/5): Do not stay here! - The Staff is amazing! They go above and beyond for the residents. The bed in room L17 needs to be thrown away! It creaked and squeaked every single time you moved and you could also hear every footstep from the room above.
- Dreena (10/5): Great stay. Staff very helpful. Can’t get along without the fridge and microwave. Dishes and a kettle. - The staff, the location, the mini kitchen is a must! The bed very comfortable. The bathroom had a large ledge for putting toiletries. Nothing.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Nice botique hotel in a quiet area of Kensington. Close to Earls Court subway so very convienant.
- Lisa (10/5): Comfortable and convenient location in London - Cute boutique, hotel in residential type area. Wonderful for walking around and close to train station. Comfortable beds and a little more space than downtown London hotels. Staff was friendly andhelpful and we loved the evening glass of wine in the lobby.
- Jesslyn (8/5): - Kitchen but room was very small
- Jeremy (10/5): - Polite and helpful staff. Very quiet rooms. The beds were very comfortable. The shower....I still daydream about the shower. On-demand endless hot water and water pressure that will power-wash the dirt off of you. Glorious.
Would definitely stay again.
- Marc (10/5): - Rooms are a bit small but very confortable
- Jessica (10/5): Love the stay! - The hotel is situated at a nice location. Beautiful building too. I also like the daily evening wine session from 6pm.
- Angela (9/5): -
- Guest (3/5): Hayal kırıklığı yarattı, kesinlikle tavsiye etmiyorum ve tekrar kalmam. - Konumu iyiydi.
- Nola (10/5): - The staff and overall atmosphere
- Steven (4/5): - Great area! The property itself seemed quite old. Our toilet clogged itself every day we stayed. There was some sort of electrical box just outside our room that emitted a very high pitched whirling sound that was relentless. They said they fixed it, but the sound persisted and was even louder after. I can still hear the ringing in my ears. Got zero sleep even with ear plugs. Not restful
- Yat Ming (7/5): Good location, clean and comfy room but the room setting is big problem. - The room in general was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was convenient. Staff was in general friendly and helpful. The set up of the room was just awful. The working desk is right at the door of the toilet so if a person sits there to work or something, you can't get into the toilet. Also it doesn't feel good to work sitting just outside of the toilet.
Besides that little table outside of the toilet, there are no other places to sit if you got food from outside or ordered room service, which one feels a bit disgusting and two the table is very small so there isn't even enough space to put your food on the table.
Minor problem is that the bath tub didn't feel very clean to use, but I think it's just because it's old with quite a few in black spots.
Overall it wasn't a bad stay but that set up just far outweighs the good, and makes it not worth the price.
- Kristin (10/5): - It was quaint and cute with a friendly staff. It was very easy to get to the tube!
- DeAnna (10/5): - Great stay, wonderful staff.
- Millett (9/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): - Amazing staff really lovely hotel.
- Kaoru (10/5): Staffs were so nice, location was great. - Clean, extra bed was comfortable, excellent location.
- jpradko (10/5): Super clean, well located Earl’s Court hotel with kitchenette - Very well located, extraordinarily clean hotel with very comfortable beds. Excellent value. Few minutes walk to Earl’s Court tube which enabled easy access on the Picadilly line from Heathrow and then on the Picadilly and District lines to all areas of London. The Earl’s Court area has so many restaurants and a M&S foods within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Lovely compact kitchenette (mini fridge, Brita water tap, second sink, microwave and plates and cutlery.) Highly recommended.
- Ana (2/5): - No había desayuno.
- Marta (10/5): -
- Katharine (8/5): Great stay with wonderfully helpful staff on Reception and a very clean room. -
- albd2015 (10/5): A quiet oasis in the nice neighborhood - First, wonderful location: in the quiet area, 5 minutes’ walk to Earl’s court stations, with M&S food, Tesco express, pharmacy, cozy coffee shop[the Paul], close to tub station. Second, the friendly and helpful staff, helping my daughter to change the SIM card, recommend the good restaurants. I cannot remember all the names; however, I would say all the staff have the same level of professionalism. Third, it’s really suitable for family visit. We are in the higher floor, only 4 rooms. It’s so quiet and we really have good rest after the day time tour.
- Eiko (8/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): - Fantastic location very close to earls court station. Hotel was basic but comfortable. The staff were exceptional. Construction noise outside from 8am which is no fault of the hotels.
- Zhanshan (10/5): If I came back to London, I would rebook the hotel. - First, wonderful location: in the quiet area, 5 minutes’ walk to Earl’s court stations, with M&S food, Tesco express, pharmacy, cozy coffee shop[the Paul], close to tub station.
The laundry service is a little bit expensive. If there were coin washer and dryer on site, it would be perfect.

- Kateski215 (10/5): They say staff make a place...this place proves it. - Just returned from a nights stay in the resident with my mum and 2 sisters. I had trawled the internet looking for somewhere that was going to strike the right balance of a convenient location, comfortable and not too expensive and The Resident looked the perfect option.
Earls court is on 3 different tube lines so it is easy to get wherever you need.
The hotel is a really quick walk (I'd say only 4 minutes if you come out of the right exit) from earls court station down a well lit and safe residential street.
We arrived 2 hours before check in at 1pm just expecting to drop our bags and were greeted by the friendliest staff who were happy to check us in to one of the rooms that was ready and rang us 30 minutes later to say the other room was ready and that they would bring the key to us.
We had booked two standard room but were really kindly upgraded to a superior room as I had mentioned that it was my sister's 40th birthday. The standard room was small and fairly basic but perfectly clean and well equipped. The superior room however was much more spacious and had some lovely amenities such as a fully stocked Nespresso machine. The staff had really kindly set up balloons, a card and complimentary wine for my sister which was such a special touch for her.
We were back and for that day and the staff were always very pleasant and helpful. We all had a very comfortable sleep although advanced warning that the Aircon is quite powerful and needed a bit of adjusting in the night. There is unfortunately some building work happening in the next house along which woke us up at 8am but these things can't be helped.
Check out wasn't until 11am which I thought was extremely generous and the staff we more than happy to store our bags until we collected them around 5pm. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
Overall a really pleasant and comfortable stay that was really made by the wonderful personal touches and behaviour of the staff.

- Daire (10/5): - We loved our stay at The Resident Kensington! The kitchenette was convenient, the air conditioning worked wonderfully, and the beds were very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood also felt very quaint, safe, and quiet. We would return for future visits to London!
- Michael (9/5): -
- Guest (10/5): - Great location, pleasant staff, clean, spacious, well kept, well stocked room, lovely extra touches such as a welcome card and drink

- 315armens (8/5): Good value for basic and affordable accomodation in London - The hotel is actually in Earl's Court, making it convenient to arrive by Underground from Heathrow without having to transfer trains. I found the hotel and staff great with some exceptions.
I was booked in a Superior room on the top floor. The room and bathrooms were spacious and I particularly liked the skylight in the bathroom. London was going through a heat wave when I visited and unfortunately the AC in that room made a knocking sound throughout the night and it was impossible to sleep. I brought this up with hotel staff and asked to be relocated. They obliged and gave me an acceptable credit for the first night's inconvenience. I wish I didn't have to pack up again and move but I found it necessary to ensure that could sleep the remaning nights.
The hotel is generally fine if you know that it is not full service, meaning no restaurants or bars on site. The reception lounge area was pleasant but I found it shocking that the actual check in area walls were so absolutely filthy. A properly maintained hotel would have surely painted that as it's such a noticable area and it's the first thing guests see when they check in. I'm sure this will be addressed but I'm surprised that management hasn't found a need to address such general upkeep.
Other than these minor gripes, I had a good stay. It wasn't my first time in London so I didn't mind the quieter less touristy location of Earl's Court. But for those that are here for the first time with an intent to visit the main center of London such as Covent Garden, Soho etc, this further from the center location could get tiring if you have to take the Underground numerous times, but I was totally fine with it as the Underground is very efficient. With that said, you still have completely walkable gems in the area such as the V&A and Natural History Museum as well as beautiful Holland Park with its lovely Kyoto Garden.
By Earls Court station, you also have a few coffee shops such as Over Under and Paul for pastries and coffee as well as some good value lunch options such as Leon, Nando's and Hulal Guys.
- Patricia (10/5): Really lovely, air-con in room, no noice outside, comfortable bed, slept well - This property is exceptionally good value for money, clean, great staff, lovely Molton Brown products, we were giving a lovely card and invited for a complimentary drink, great location Nothing!
- Natasha C (8/5): - Loved that there were restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. The train station was very close by. The safe was very helpful. I would stay again.
- Paul (10/5): - Clean, convenient, comfortable. Good value, will stay here again.
- michelerudnick (10/5): Happy to recommend the Resident Kensington - The staff was very nice, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great with easy access to restaurants and the underground. We would be happy to stay again.
- Ahmed (7/5): -
- Elisabeth (10/5): Overall a great stay - Hyfsat centralt.
- Sebastien (10/5): -
- HARINDER (8/5): - Clean hotel, centrally located, with very nice staff. However, we had to pay 30 pounds per night for our room upgrade. This was an unwelcome surprise.
- Anna Maria (8/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): - A perfect location for hopping on and off the underground. The staff was exceptional. Rooms are large and come with many amenities, such as microwave and mini fridge. Nearby, pubs, and bakeries.
- Ann-Karin (5/5): Dette er et 3-stjerners hotell. Rolig strøk, men litt usentralt. - Rolig strøk.
Hyggelige ansatte.
- P9820ITkarind (10/5): Nice hotel in a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood. - Just a few minutes from underground and shops and on walking distance from Royal Albert Hall in a friendly, quiet neighbourhood.
I had a really good stay!
- Paul (7/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): - The room was spacious and quite comfortable. Many nice amenities such as mini fridge , microwave and safe. Very short walk to underground and food. The staff is exceptional.
- Katherine (10/5): - Very comfortable accommodation and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Great location too.
- Odette (8/5): -
- Mauro (8/5): -
- Denise (10/5): - Lovely clean reception… friendly welcome… comfortable room with a wee added courtyard outdoor space…. Would definitely recommend
- Amybc04 (10/5): Family trip - So cute, if you weren’t looking closely, you might miss it. Nestled in what seems like a neighborhood, great location nearby underground yet far enough away from the hustle of commotion. Rooms are smaller but clean and comfortable. Easy access to London and train stations for going just about anywhere as the District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines are just around the corner.
- Chloe (8/5): -
- Finola (8/5): - The overall ambience was nice. The patio and bar very welcoming and the staff were helpful.
- Y2691GMdavidr (10/5): Convenient for Central London and transport to Gatwick Airport - I had a relaxing, three-day stay at this hotel as a stopover from The USA to Turkmenistan. Its location was ideal for me, not only because of its central location but also because of a short walk to Earl's Court tube station. From here it is just four stops on the District Line to Victoria Station and the Gatwick Express.
My room was a standard double. It was very clean with high-end amenities. The size of the room can be described as compact but the well- planned layout, including a discreet kitchenette (with a microwave), compensated for the desire of more space. After all, who needs to 'swing a cat' these days!
The hotel staff were very courteous and efficient. Any requests were dealt with promptly and effectively. Booking well in advance and with the membership discount can contribute to an affordable stay for this part of London in a superior hotel.
- Tara (10/5): - I really liked the smallness of the hotel--the fact that it wasn't a huge chain. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the immediate area and provided good suggestions both walkable and via the tube to food and entertainment options. Though my room was by the elevator, it was very quiet. The hotel room was small but it had everything I needed and then some. Loved the heated towel bar and the little kitchenette and the touch of a bottle of wine on arrival was sweet. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
- Carrie (10/5): Resident Kensington did not disappoint, great stay! - The room was clean and pleasant, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The location was very convenient and central to many sights and activities as well as the tube station.
- mamabelz (10/5): Location - Location was at a residential area that had a lot of small hotels; it was just a block away from underground station- more quiet and less busy
I liked that there were stores where you could actually buy food to use in the kitchenette. A lot of restaurants nearby- Filipino, Lebanese, Indian, bakery, Thai, burgers, Tex-mex… The train stop Earl’s Court was very strategic; so was the bus stop to get to sights. Room was cleaned daily by housekeeping at no extra charge.
Front desk were helpful in giving suggestions on how best to get to a tourist spot.
- Janet (8/5): Lovely room and staff shame about the lack of sleep. Would also be nice if there was a bar - constant movement on the floor above. I assumed I was beneath the reception area See above
- Mchugh (10/5): - Excellent staff, comfortable well equipped rooms, very centrally located with easy access to transport links Nothing
- Marc (10/5): - Great facility/staff and terrific location close to Earl's Court Underground
- maria (10/5): Great hotel - This hotel was a pleasure to get back to after a busy day. Kind staff and comfortable, clean room. We were never disturbed by any noise despite being on the ground floor. There was construction going on right outside our window, but we stayed over a weekend and the workers were only there on Friday.
The hotel is a short walk from Earl’s Court Underground station. They offer a breakfast menu from a nearby café, but we didn’t use this service, preferring instead to get breakfast at the LEON right by the train station.
There were four of us staying in one room, with two young adults sleeping on cots. The bed was very comfortable, the cots were as comfortable as a cot can get ;-).
Would definitely stay here again! Nothing
- T9263OHdougk (10/5): Welcoming Staff and Facility - In my travels I do not look for luxury, but clean rooms with comfortable beds, a bathroom with room to move around in, and a room that is easy to get around in even with luggage on the floor.
Our twin bed room at The Resident was great for these concerns.
- Caner (8/5): -
- Kayla (8/5): -
- Joleen (10/5): - We loved this place! The staff were awesome and the rooms were well appointed and comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): - Excellent staff, comfortable rooms with small kitchenette and air conditioning ! Highly recommended
- Laurent (9/5): -
- KiyoshiI24 (4/5): - Beware! Lower Ground Room. Nearly “Basement” for privacy.
With good customer reviews as well as “nice” room description of the hotel, I tried to stay at this hotel. Surprisingly our room was located at the lower ground level. To reach the room we had to walk at the cozy hallway and multiple stairs after getting down by an elevator. The room was set clean; but the two windows showed pedestrians and cars they were very close to us. I talked to the receptionists, and they said all rooms are subject to availability.
To keep our privacy for my wife we needed to close the blinds and count on the room lights and air conditioners during our stay. We had not excepted any good view, but the room was beyond our expectation and put us at deep disappointment. The floor of the room is approximately five feet lower than the street level. (See pictures.) The hotel seems to have come from converting multiple old apartments and made the modernized hotel appearance. I saw at least 18 rooms at the lower ground level and a couple of fire-safe doors. At the reception level I saw a couple of staircases for different directions. Before the pandemic I had stayed at a couple of hotels in the same area; but I had not noticed any hotel rooms under the ground.
The room description of the hotel website or online travel site does not address any potential of such under-ground guest rooms. The description shows only beautiful windows-view shutting down the bad potential of the underground rooms. I feel the hotel’s description hiding the fact is fraudulent business.

- parkietx (10/5): We wouldn't stay anywhere else! - The was our third visit to this hotel. Everything suited us--the location, friendly staff, and all around ambience. The location is a block and a half block from the Earl's Court tube stop, and the Piccadilly Line goes all the way from there to Heathrow. In previous years we took the train all the way to and from Heathrow. This year, because of extra luggage and walking issues, we hired a Blackberry Car to take us to the airport (60 pounds for three of us).
We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine each evening in the lobby and met travelers from all over the world.
