LindaEncinitas (8/5): Great price for stay in center of Munich - Enjoyed our stay here before a Christmas markets cruise. Staff were friendly & helpful & grateful that room was ready shortly after we arrived early from our flight. Very comfortable & clean. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Easy walk to Marienplatz & Isator station. Only issue was that room heat is controlled by several radiators, so needed to adjust all for the night, but room still stayed warm making sleep a bit uncomfortable. Despite that I wouldn't hate to stay here again.
Naim00 (6/5): Decent hotel. Small room. Slow Internet. Great location. - Location is great. Close to old town and walking distance to everywhere. Can’t complain there. Service is nice and welcoming. Very professional and friendly staff. Now the hotel is not a 4 star (well I guess 4 stars in Europe are 2 stars in Dubai).. The rooms are tiny, the bathroom is tiny, they provide 2 towels only and the toiletry if of the cheapest kind.. The bed head board is falling apart (see pic), but the rooms are comfy and clean. Internet is very erratic and slow (sad to see that in Germany). The breakfast buffet is decent (much better than US based 4 stars breakfasts). Good variety of food, bread, muesli, cold cuts etc..

harrietskm (10/5): Perfect loction - first, most important this location is fabulous. You can walk just about anywhere for major tourist attractions Main Street for shopping. Lots of restaurants around the corners from the moment you walk in everybody makes you feel welcome and they are very helpful. The room was a superior room, so it was a little larger than most of the rooms in the hotel it had a very comfortable bed. The shower worked well but just think of the bathroom or something you would have on a cruise ship and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was something you really need it when it was as hot as it has been here in Munich during this period of time, the breakfast was good. I can’t just mention one person‘s name because everyone was over the top helpful if I needed anything if I had any questions they would always accommodate me. if you’re in Munich and you want a good location and a hotel that makes you feel like they really find you important person to be in their hotel. This is the place to go.

We would certainly return to stay here if we ever find ourselves in Munich again

Q6463TLshanem (6/5): Torn On What Rating To Give - Bottom Line Up Front - The hotel Manager lied about my room's air conditioner not working. In the end he did make things right though by moving us to a room with a working AC, after I called him out on his lies and made him go up to the room and try to prove to me that it was working. He could not even get the unit's fan to turn on, and thus relented and moved our room. The rest of the story - I did LOTS of searching of hotels here on Tripadvisor for our 2 week trip to Europe (June 14 -28) as it was difficult to tell from the various hotels' websites if the rooms truly had air conditioning or not. Hotel Concorde was one that I confirmed as having AC. We flew from the USA to Munich, Germany and stayed 3 nights at Hotel Concorde, room 207. It was warm while we were in Munich, up to around 90 Fahrenheit during the day, and cooling into the mid-to-upper 70s at night. We got to the room, turned the AC on immediately and the room cooled quickly. My wife did not convert Celsius to Fahrenheit before setting the thermostat, and turned it down to 16C. We left the room for 6-7 hours, and when we got back it was really cold and we ended up setting it at 21C the rest of trip. All was good, the room was exactly as advertised and the location is excellent. It's tucked away on a quiet street and is about a 7 minute walk to Marienplatz and all of the action. Breakfast was included and there were lots of options in the buffet, could not have asked for more. We then traveled to Switzerland for about a week, and then back to Munich for 2 final nights before flying back to the USA. We again stayed at Hotel Concorde, and this is when the lying took place. The on-duty Manager put us in room 209 this time, and when we got to the room we once again turned on the air conditioning as it was another hot day. The thermostat was set at 19C (which is about 66F), but if was in the the upper 80sF in the room. The thermostat would not allow us to set it lower than 19, and when we tried the fan would kick on for about 60 seconds, blow room temperature air, and then cut off. After about 20 minutes we gave up and I went downstairs and described the situation to the Manager. He told me that they have a policy to not allow the thermostats to be set below 19C and that the AC was indeed working. I asked to be changed to another room and he said I would have to wait until the following day as all rooms were booked. I could see the physical room keys hanging behind him on the wall of "boxes" and there were multiple boxes that did not have a piece of paper in them, but had keys hanging in front of the boxes. That meant the rooms were not reserved at the time. Lie #1. I was not going to budge on this, and stated that when I was at the hotel last week in room 207 the AC worked fine and that I was able to put the thermostat down to 16C, but in 209 it would not even go below 19C, so there was something wrong with 209's AC. And that it was definitely not 19C (66F) in the room at the moment, that is was cooler in the hallway which did not even have AC. He then said there was an issue with the AC in 207 and 208 last week that allowed me to lower it to 16C. This was lie #2 because as soon as he switched my room, to 203, I checked and was able to lower it to 16C just like I was able to in 207 the week prior. Realizing my current approach wasn't getting me anywhere, I played dumb and asked him to come up to the room and show me how to operate the thermostat in 209 because maybe I was doing something wrong. He stammered for a moment, then agreed to do so. At this point his forehead starting sweating, because he knew he was going to be caught in his lies. We got up to the room, and he messed with the thermostat, and the fan would not even turn on for him at all, and the thermostat continued to show it was supposed to be 19C in the room. I then said he could not honestly tell me in was 19C / 66F in the room, and he was now sweating profusely from both nervousness and because it was so warm in the room. We were all sweating in fact because of the heat. I told him I did not care if he had to put us on a different floor or in a nicer room, but we were not staying in 209. I followed him back to the front desk and room 203 was suddenly available, across the hall from 209. I took the key to 203 and ensured the AC worked, which it did. We moved our bags across the hall and enjoyed the rest of our stay. The whole situation could have been avoided if the Manager had simply acknowledged that the AC was not working and put us in a different room when I initially brought the problem to his attention. Instead, he lied about it and tried to make us stay in the room when there were others available that had working ACs. That is why I am torn on how to rate the hotel.
Wendy (8/5): - The Hotel Concord was a nice place and it's in a great location. Having breakfast included was wonderful, the room was clean and we felt very safe being out, even in the evening. One issue was that they don't have washcloths. It must be a European thing, because they hotel we stayed at in Budapest also did not have washcloths.

Overall, a great choice for a central and pleasant stay in Munich!

955neill (4/5): Avoid - So, it's well located, and the staff are pleasant, but that's about it. Despite requesting months in advance we (two friends) were not given twin beds and had to share a double. The room was in the basement with a view of...a fake painted landscape. I don't think I've stayed anywhere before without natural light. The shower was difficult to get in/out of. Breakfast was OK. And all of this for £170. The only solution, after speaking to several staff members, was for us to buy an extra single room for 180 euros! No thanks.

857howardr (8/5): Great location - The hotel is very close to the center of the city, walking distance about 10 minutes. Very nice, clean hotel. Beds are way to soft, like sleeping in a hammock. Very little shelf space in the bathroom, they could add an extra shelf easily. No Bath mats in the tub/shower so you have to hang on for your life while trying to take a shower with one hand. Tub is very deep and not easy to get into especially if you are older. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Dominic at the front desk was really helpful. Don't miss the market off to the left of the center plaza.

Yes, the hotel has it but only within a certain amount of months in the year, so does it really have it listed? Also if you get a room like we had on the sunny side, you have to keep the curtain closed at all times or else you’ll be cooking inside and without air conditioning it’s an awful experience. Breakfast was good though, that was the best part of the hotel.

yevgeniya (10/5): - It’s small and only has one claustrophobic elevator, but it’s just literally a few steps away from a beautiful area. Everyone is friendly and it has everything you need. Breakfast was decent with plenty of choices. Coffee was not good. Overall I would stay again if I had to, but I would not hesitate to try another hotel as well.

Tami (6/5): - The room was tiny and could hardly walk around each other. The beds are very hard and for someone with hip and shoulder problems it really got them stirred up that first night. They did put a pad on my bed when I asked if there were rooms with softer mattresses so I give them A for trying to help. The food is excellent, it is centrally located and close to sites you would want to see. Public transport is close as well.

Verified traveler (10/5): Highly Recommend - This was a nice, conveniently located place to stay for our trip to Munich. There is a car elevator to the parking garage under the hotel which was a first for us, and we were glad to have a small car. We had an early morning arrival, and were able to park there even though it wasn't check in time and our room wasn't ready. Once we parked, we didn't move the car again until it was time to leave. The breakfast had lots of choices and was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Waldo (8/5): Good for Central Munich - Difficult to get to because of construction. Room was pretty tight, but most European rooms are. Location was great and so was the breakfast. First time I ever used a car elevator for parking.
Verified traveler (8/5): Vacation - Hotel is in a great location, the room and bathroom were both very clean, and well maintained but the rooms are quite small, there is a small fridge with items you can purchase and a kettle which was nice to be able to make a hot drink. It’s a little on the noisy side we could hear our neighbours, don’t think there is much sound proofing. Overall we had a good stay
PETER (10/5): - We enjoyed stay. We arrived just after 10 in the morning and were able to go to the room straight away. The breakfast is superb. Hotel 5 minutes from Hofbräuhaus and a few more to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt. Staff very helpful. Room very comfortable.

ericfleck (10/5): Great location! - Was here for 2 nights during our trip to Germany. Our room had a queen size bed and large pull out sofa for the kids. Also had 2 bathrooms which was great. Hotel and room were very clean. Service was excellent and great location. If you’re scared a small elevators I don’t recommend but otherwise I definitely recommend.

RLG2121 (10/5): Highly recommended - I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is excellent (very short walk to the old town), the staff very friendly and a lovely breakfast is included. The biggest point for me though, is that this is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. I note a number of previous reviews refer to a need to update the rooms, and while it may be true that some of the furnishings etc are not modern, they are in excellent order and tremendously clean. I highly recommend this hotel and thank them for a lovely visit in late January :)
Allen (8/5): Wonderful location - First, the good...and there is plenty of "that." The hotel is located just a short walk from Hofbrauhaus and Marienplanz. Aside from Hofbrauhaus, there are several fine restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is perfectly fine. My main complaint, and it is not really a complaint, is the 4-star rating the hotel has received. To put it in context, my wife and I have stayed in 48 European hotels in 46 cities, from 2-star to 5-star. Our room was small but that is not my complaint, Europen hotel rooms, even in 5-star hotels can be small. My complaint is with the bathroom: it was tiny was a shower stall wedged into the corner and a combination shower gel and shampoo container attached to the wall. If the hotel was rated three stars, the bathroom would be perfectly fine. But, this was not a 4-star bathroom. I believe in truth in advertising: if this hotel was rated as 3 stars....it would have gotten an excellent review from me. As it is rated 4 stars, I can only give it a good rating. However, this did not detract from our stay, and, overall, the hotel is a fine choice.

Verified traveler (6/5): Stay away - The elevator doesn't service the top floor, so if your room is up there, then you'll be hauling your baggage up the stairs with no help from the hotel. Parking is in the basement, and there's a car elevator to get down there from the street level. The parking spots and the car elevator are extremely tight, even for a compact car. The room itself was adequate, though the ceilings are rather low. Breakfast was the bright spot of our stay. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience.
Graham (8/5): - Good hotel in a great location. Staff were extremely helpful and nice. It's an older hotel and parking is a little tough in their underground parking lot. Walls are very thin and we were kept up half the night by the people in the room next to us letting their kids run and around and scream. Internal sound proofing is not that great. But, the hotel was in a great location and if you just need a place to put your head down and focus on going out this hotel is a good option. The staff make this place however. They were great. Top marks for staff professionalism and helpfulness. Would I stay here again? Yes.
lynspop (8/5): Lots of positives but this is not a 4* hotel! - Just returned from a short break in Munich and a stay at this hotel. Location is very good for lots of the main attractions and areas in Munich. Public transport is literally a minutes walk away. Our room was very small with a small double bed and not much floor space. Room was clean and had all basic amenities for a short stay but it was not a 4* room. Perhaps it was 20+ years ago, but not now. The hotel is dated in terms of decor- throughout the whole place. Staff were all friendly and we enjoyed breakfast although there wasn’t a huge selection. Overall we did enjoy our stay but this hotel does need to modernise its decor and update facilities to truly advertise itself as 4 star.

colleen (8/5): - The hotel was very quiet most of the time, except for breakfast was lively. The staff that we met were very kind, the maid was very friendly! There was a good breakfast selection and they offered champagne at breakfast and mulled wine during Christmas season in the afternoons. The room was a little tight but very clean, fresh and updated. The walk to the Christmas markets and main old town areas was reasonable and we found street parking close by.
