• Benjamin (8/5): Amazing location, quiet, safe, and comfortable. The pre-arrival check-in online was annoying. - The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and bigger than it appears in the photos, thanks to 12-foot ceilings, although there are three large steps up to the bedroom/bath level. The washing machine works perfectly, and the two bedroom windows, five feet high, open onto a courtyard that offered a wall of fragrant jasmine when we stayed there in May. The apartment is in the back of the building, so it's quiet, despite its location in the central neighborhood. The entrance to the building faces the Uffizi Gallery on the other side of the River Arno. This makes the apartment foolproof when it comes to getting lost, a frequent problem in Florence, as the street where the apartment is located starts at the Ponte Vecchio bridge, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Florence. Ask any shop owner or local the way to the Ponte Vecchio, and they'll know. Security isn't a problem as there are three locked doors in the building before reaching the apartment. There are three flights of stairs to the apartment door. The building is old and lacks an elevator, but the apartment is nicely decorated, well-lit, renovated for heating and air conditioning, with modern appliances, and very clean. The wi-fi inside the apartment is excellent, as is the washing machine. There is good hot water, although the shower volume is weak and the shower stall is tiny. The real estate company, Wine Apartments, provided a street map to locate the apartment and gave accurate, detailed instructions on how to enter the apartment, which were provided at the same hour as check-in, 3 pm on the day of arrival. They were also very responsive to questions, even outside their office hours, and solved a small problem we had on the same day we reported it. For grocery shopping, there's an excellent supermarket (Conab) just one block away. On the negative side, we had a lot of problems going through Wine Apartments' online, pre-arrival check-in, which must be completed before arrival, and the city tax paid. It was complicated and took hours instead of minutes. It would be much simpler to do this in person than online. We've rented from real estate agents before in Florence, and they sent an agent to meet us and take photos of our passports. Also, the apartment lacks a few basic items. (We stayed in the Falanghina apartment, not the larger Vernaccia with the courtyard. The photos on Booking.com show both apartments.) There was a minimal number of dishes, especially if more than two people were staying there. There were no paper towels/napkins, spices, or ice cube trays for the freezer, although a free bottle of wine was waiting for us. There was an electric teapot but no tea. It was also disappointing that there were no receptacles inside the apartment for recycling, even though there are recycling bins on the street near the building.

• 5fe16753990072a2e4170e9d005b6fc7 (4/5): Location is convenient but the host was not supportive. The photos are misleading. Disappointed. - Not applicable as there was no breakfast. The apartment was damp and cold. There was a dirty towel left behind from the previous visitors. When we asked for the heating to be turned on in the evening as it was cold, this was refused. The bedding was dusty. The neighbour has the tv on loud all evening and night. The hallway smells of cigarette smoke constantly. The pictures are deceiving and this room does not have a terraced or court yard area as advertised. Look carefully before booking. If you are carrying heavy suitcases then be prepared for multiple flights of stairs and no lifts.

• GULCIN (8/5): - The location of the accommodation was quite good. It's a 20-minute walk from Novella train station if you don't have too much luggage. If you have luggage, I recommend taking a taxi. Because the streets in Florence are cobblestone, walking can be a bit difficult if you have a lot of heavy luggage. The hotel is very close to the Vecchio Bridge. It's in an old building, but it was clean; I mention it as old because it gives the feeling of a historic building. We couldn't use the radiators inside; we used the air conditioning. The air conditioning heats up, but some areas might stay cool. I booked a Family Suite, and please note that you don't get to use the garden/balcony in this suite. You might think it's usable because the pictures show a balcony in the Family Suite. Also they gave a Wine as a welcome gift :) The room is heated using air conditioning, which does provide warmth, but the bathroom and kitchen areas can be cool as a result. Other than that, everything was excellent. I definitely recommend it.

L’accès à l’arrivée n’étais pas facile, beaucoup de portes à franchir, pas d’ascenseur, instructions pas très claires, portes dures à ouvrir. La cuisine n’étais pas bien équipé (four disponible mais pas de plat pour l’utiliser, pas assez de couverts pour 4 personnes ou ustensiles pour cuisiner, pas de sopalin ou linge de cuisine. Pas assez de sacs poubelles). Une seule prise pour utiliser les appareils de la cuisine. Pour 6 nuits et 4 personnes on nous a laissé 2 rouleaux de papier toilette… et aucun changement de serviette.

The beds and pillows were literally the most comfortable of any of the many places that we stayed at on our two week vacation in Italy. The wine bottle was a nice gift and it was great to have 3 beds. The host was helpful. It is next to a really noisy bar/restaurant, so it was loud until the restaurant closed. Thankfully, by the time we were ready to go to sleep, it was quiet.

De 1e keer naar de juiste deur is echt een speurtocht, maar zeer goed uitgelegd door de beheerder, stapje voor stapje wordt alles beschreven met een foto erbij, dan lukt het iedereen zeker. • Kate (8/5): Amazing location in a wonderful city - Location. Location. Location. The location and the space was wonderful. Quirky passages to get up to your room but that adds a layer of safety. Washing machine and drying racks were very useful as travellers. All the main attractions are so close for both day and nighttime enjoyment. The shower is dated and a little tight for space but nothing that can’t be managed for your stay.

The space was perfect for our family, especially with multiple beds. However, we were surprised there was an extra charge for bedding on the upstairs twin, even though it was shown in the photos. Also, that area gets warm and could use a fan. Overall, a great stay and we’d return!

It’s not what you need when you’re enjoying a different part of your holiday. Absolutely no flexibility whatsoever in timings. Got the code bang on 3pm when I’m sure it would’ve been possible to have got in before! The same experience on check out. Reminder after reminder about keys & taking out rubbish to trash can 50m from building! Security of property not great considering how many keys and instructions you get!!! The yard area was nice but not as nice or as clean as the photos and too many mosquitos to sit out at night. Would’ve been good if host had left some mosquito candles etc

Great terrace if weather is nice to enjoy outside. Many doors to get through to enter, recommend keyless entries for guests with key pads or push buttons so less key juggling. Recommend few more lights in main space since west facing a bit dark in morning to see. But overall great and has lots of potential to be even better!

• Radu (8/5): Nice place - The flat is at a 3 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. If you accomodate here, you do not need to use public transport (or other kind of transport) in order to visit the main and famous tourist attractions. There is a supermarket nearby (a 2 minute walk) and a restaurant next door. We were welcomed with a bottle of good wine (that was nice). The flat is in a quiet and safe place - sometimes you can hear the rain and the birds, but this is actually quite pleasant. The beds are very comfortable.

• Summer (8/5): Nice and comfortable stay - We like the security of the building and area. The bed was comfortable and television was convenient. The washer/dryer was tiny but convenient and they provided a nice drying rack. We did not cook.
• Jade (10/5): Fab apartment in Florence! - The location is perfect. Easy walk to everything whilst being just out of the way enough to be quieter and less touristy. The gelato shop next door is also exceptional. The flat is roomy, well kitted out and the terrace is lovely too. The staff are really communicative and happy to help when required. Thanks guys! A note that the apartment is on the first floor up some stairs and the doors through to the apartment are not wide so you have to fold a baby buggy to get through. Just a logistical thing - it didn't impact our stay at all. Not that I 'didnt like it' but a note for families with little ones that there are steps up to the bathroom and down to the bedroom. They are tiled and require extra supervision if your child is toddling. That was absolutely fine for us.
• Edleen (2/5): An advert of promise but an experience of disappointment - The keys were easy to collect with clear instructions and directions in relation to accessing the keys from the lock box. The location is great for exploring. One of the doors was broken and on the first evening, we were locked in the apartment for part of the evening until brute force had to be used to get out of the building. The host was called multiple times when locked in and we didn't receive an answer. The next day, a blacksmith had to be called to come and change/address the door lock. The room was booked for 3 people but only 2 bottles of water, 2 glasses, 2 lots of everything were provided. The guests in the apartment above were very noisy dragging furniture in the middle of the night on the first night and clearly having a loud event on another night. The outside terrace had beautiful, however it could not be utilised due to a bug infection on the cushions causing 2 guests to be bitten on their arms and legs - and therefore this could only be used for 10 minutes over a 4 day stay. On one morning of the stay, a mid-morning nap was being had by us when 2 men appeared on the private terrace that was locked meaning they must have gotten access from the hosts. These gents clearly had not expected us to be in and disappeared when I went outside. Again, I flagged this to the host but nothing was offered in terms of an apology or indeed compensation. Additionally, despite having such a poor experience, the hosts would not flex for left-luggage to be left in the property for 3 hours from 10am-1pm and instead tried to charge 100 additional euros to leave 3 hand luggage suitcases in the property....and then asked us to take all rubbish with us and dispose of it ourselves on the street. While the location was fantastic the number of things above caused the experience to be less than great and was actually quite disappointing.

• Nikolitsa (7/5): Good - Location was a plus Too many doors to access with too many keys. Still security was questionable. The big patio was a plus but it was poorly decorated and cleaned. At the end of the stay we had to dispose garbage ourselves half a block away. I never experienced that before!
• Tamika (10/5): - This property is everything we could have hoped for! We have spent the last three weeks travelling Croatia and Italy and this is one of our favourite properties. Although this is a far walk from the train station and the map is wrong attached to the listing this is incredibly close to all attractions and the canal! The area is incredibly safe and bustling with live entertainment at night. The apartment presents a bright, breathtaking space and welcomed us with a free bottle of wine. The owners were very responsive and accommodating- we will absolutely be back!!!

• Steele (8/5): An amazing stay with great location, comfortable property. - Location good, free bottle of wine provided which was very nice. Shop nearby was useful and proximity to Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Michelangelo. The Mokka pot was brilliant. There were ants and no bin bags, also the single bed near the kitchen had no fan or air conditioning. The lack of an oven in the kitchen was disappointing. Otherwise kitchen was very good. Perhaps some more larger glasses could have been useful as well as more plates. Also a kitchen roll stand would have been good.
• Shannon (10/5): Great location - This was a great apartment. The bed was comfortable, and the room has a great open floor plan. The location was better than expected. They provided two rolls, but it was not the best. This may just be a US thing. The dryer was hard to figure out. It was user err but we only got it to work once. We had one load we washed 5 time trying to get it to dry. It is a washer dryer combo.
• Eloise (9/5): Comfortable, central and lovely place to stay - Great location, nice facilities and comfortable and spacious place. Check in was a little difficult, other than this everything was great.

• Amy (8/5): The apartment is in a great location and everything was really easy to get to. - It was nice having a kitchen to use to make some meals and the location was great. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper for our entire stay, so we had to buy some ourselves.

• Katie (9/5): Beautiful apartment close to the city centre without being noisy; well styled and appointed. - Terrace was gorgeous, apartment was well appointed and had basically everything we needed, it was well styled and comfortable. The bed was VERY soft, to the point that my back hurt during the day. The shower doesn’t stay a consistent temperature for more than 10 seconds- annoying but not a deal breaker.
• Chryste (8/5): Beautiful, convenient and comfortable stay - location was wonderful! - The property is in a historic building that is beautifully constructed and modernized to feel like a chic Parisian apartment. The host gifted us a nice bottle of wine to kick off our stay in Firenze. The location next to the Arno River was directly across from the Uffizi Gallery and the closest bridge was the Ponte Vecchio. Also there was a close gelato shop and several delicious restaurants within steps of the property. The space was maximized in the apartment, which was great, but it was difficult going up and down 3 tall stairs to use the kitchen area. If mobility is an issue for anyone in your party, this could be problematic.
• Nathalia (8/5): Quiet and comfortable stay in a great location in Florence for a couple or small family! - Great location, comfortable apartment, very quiet and safe. The staff was responsive via messages, the possibility to leave the bags prior the check-in is a plus, and the bottle of wine as a welcome treat was definitely a nice touch :) The cooktop stove didn’t work at all, even after all the explanations they gave me (so couldn’t prepare any food or coffee), the support for the shower head was broken so we had to hold the shower the whole time, we ran out of hot water one day after one long shower and, when I asked for further info, they said we had to wait another 30min for it to recharge (would like to know that in advance since we were in 4 people)

• Urakawa (8/5): - Even I didn’t recognized there are steps to climb one floor, the room is clean, comfortable and wide. And there are many restaurants and famous gelato shops, I really enjoyed my stay. Map is wrong by the way.

• Marie-Charlotte (4/5): - Location is great!! The Apartments is nice and functional. The washing machine is great. Now, communication with staff is average. The noise on saturdays is very intense. There is an enoteca right below. The floor was dirty and the apartment dusty. When I told them, they did not even bother to answer. It was not what I expected traveling with a baby. The toaster did not work. There was no floor detergent. Overall… they could improve a lot.
• Brianna (10/5): Hope to stay here again someday! - We had a wondeful stay in the apartment called "Falanghina" just off of the Ponte Vecchio. You can't beat the location. The apartment had all the main amenities we needed and was really great value for the price. You do need to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs (It's not unusual for European buildings this old to not have elevators.) So be sure to plan for that.
