- rosshillpc (10/5): Recent trip to Barcelona - This hotel experience was lovely. The location was very central we needed being right outside Passeig de Gràcia and not far from Plaza de Cataluña. Food at breakfast was nice and the hot food changed each day, though wasn't labelled properly and could have been kept warmer. The only main complaint was the shower as every 2 minutes it would suddenly get very cold or hot and then settle again to a nice steady temperature but we got used to the cycle.

- LaiToronto (10/5): Boutique Hotel in Central Location - This boutique hotel has all the old world charm and convenience of a central location. Our daughters stayed there 2 years ago, and we also booked a Superior Room for 4-nights. The first 2 nights, unfortunately, there was bad smell at the shower area. A replacement room at a lower level was arranged for the last 2 nights although there was no apology nor customer gesture or rebate. The staff was in general professional and courteous.
- mia_nj (10/5): A Wonderful Family Stay at El Avenida Palace Barcelona - Special Thanks to Gabriela - We had a fantastic family holiday at El Avenida Palace in Barcelona! The hotel has a beautiful charm and was a great base for our trip. However, we did encounter a small hiccup at the start of our stay. We had booked one of the older rooms, and we were surprised to find that it did not have air conditioning - only heating. Apparently, air conditioning in the older rooms is only available during the summer season. Barcelona can be quite warm at night, and with the city noise making it difficult to keep the windows open, the first couple of nights were a little uncomfortable. Gabriela, the front desk manager/supervisor, and her wonderful team. After we communicated our concerns, Gabriela went above and beyond to relocate my family to a beautiful suite on one of the newer floors, which has full heating and air conditioning year-round. She also kindly arranged complimentary breakfast for the remainder of our stay. We were absolutely blown away by the level of care and customer service shown. Once settled in the new room, we were incredibly comfortable and truly enjoyed the rest of our holiday. A big heartfelt thank you to Gabriela and the entire team for turning our experience around and making our family feel so valued. A tip for future guests: If air conditioning is important to you outside of summer, make sure to request one of the newer rooms when booking! We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the incredible Beatles Suite, which was such a unique and special experience. The room is beautifully themed, full of character, and felt like a real treat from the moment we walked in. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. the reception team were wonderful from check-in to check-out. the bar staff were fantastic, especially a really lovely Canadian girl who was so warm and attentive. The housekeeping team were also brilliant and made sure everything was perfect for us. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a great selection, and the drinks from the bar were lovely too :)the perfect way to relax after a day exploring the city. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere, the service, and the attention to detail made it a birthday I’ll never forget. We will definitely be back:-)

- Nomad55023939691 (10/5): Part of the reason why we love Barcelona - Our family of three had a most wonderful stay at your hotel. We enjoyed our 11 days 10 nights and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. The lobby is grand-looking, the rooms are nice and spacious, housekeeping is thorough, buffet is great, beds and pillows are comfy, location is great with H&M, Zara, Primor, Mango and many other shopping nearby, and walking distance to Casa Batlo, Casa Milla, Gothic Qtr etc, as well as close to 2 Metro Stations. In our 11-day stay, we walked to everywhere except for 3 days where we took taxi to Sants Train station & Bus Station for our day trips. Obe suggestion though - good to have a practice where if we were to hang up the bath towels, the housekeeper need not give us new ones everyday, if we want them changed, we can throw them on the floor. This will be more environmentally friendly. Take note though u have to request for toothbrush/toothpaste/bedroom slippers as they r not in the room. Other than that, we loved every min of our stay, special mention goes to Mr Juan Carlos and the housekeepers who always on the heater in our rooms so we always come back to a warm room after a cold day out. Thank you El Avenida Palace Hotel for being part of the reason why we love Barcelona so much!
- ae155 (10/5): Best spot in Barcelona! - We chose this hotel based on the pictures and location, we found that it is so much more. From the welcoming staff upon check in, they graciously held our bags for us while we got a jump start on exploring the town. Our rooms were spacious, the persianas made the street noise go to zero, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were huge compared to other hotels we had visited. The staff was always ready to help, they even sent me two different birthday gifts, thank you for the chocolates and juice! We would definitely stay here again.
- ymas2010 (10/5): A very comfortable family stay at a top location in Barcelona - We stayed here for 1 week as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) in the renovated family room, which is actually 2 connecting rooms with 2 separate bathrooms. In terms of design, there are no closed closets - its all open closet design. The renovated family room we were in had one small window each and that too looking the back of buildings. There was no balcony or views which would have been nice to have. Pros: - Location is top. So easy to walk everywhere and its right in the centre of the downtown. We walked over 20K steps everyday and happily walked to the beach and back many times. - Sleep Quality: we had 1 week with very good night sleep - minimal noise and very comfortable. - Breakfast: nice daily buffet with the same offerings every day. Cons/Improvements that the management can make: - For a renovated room, you'd expect more luxurious finishing but the room was missing that extra touch. On arrival, the room was missing the basic amenities and we had to call to request for room slippers. There were no bath robes and generally minimal amenities like they are trying to save cost which is not nice when you've paid such a high price. The hotel could add some small touches to make the room feel a bit more luxurious rather than a stripped down basic room. - Cleaning: Room cleaning was a hit and miss depending on who cleaned that day. One day it was spotless and many days it was the bare minimum cleaning with many dusty areas and uncleaned surfaces. The hotel needs to pay more attention to their cleaning services. - Water: its not provided daily in the room. Only provided the first day and after that its at a charge. We would expect from such a pricey hotel to have at least water provided everyday for the guests. - Concierge: The hotel would benefit from a dedicated concierge as we felt planning anything took time and not the best knowledge. Overall i gave the hotel a 5* as we truly had a comfortable stay and the location made it so easy to go back in the middle of the days to the hotel for a pit stop but i would recommend the hotel do the improvements mentioned to maintain guest satisfaction and ensure they return again and again.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are generally a good size. The family suites in particular are great! Highly recommend staying here!
- ANKWalk (4/5): Roasting in El Avenida Hotel - The hotel is advertises as having air conditioning but it did not have it on at the time of our booking on Nov 15th with thre outside temp being 22-24 during the day and mid high teens at night. When talking to other clients on our floor they too states they had a very terrible sleep due to the heat. As heat rises the top floors feel the impact the most as well. And with the sunrise on our side of the building the sun hit us from morning and our room was cooking all day long. They apparently have newer renovated rooms in the lower floors but they apparently did not want to give us one of those larger rooms to us to compensate for this issue. We had booked en extra large room as our daughter was with us and what should have been a bed, she had to sleep on a sofa bed which caved in thr middle and it was not comfortable at all. They gave us fans but that did very little to deal with the 24-25C temp ALL night in our rooms. The hotel might look nice on the outside and main floor but the lack of proper HVAC does not warrant this hotel any star above 3 if that. Their breakfast had not and cold items to choose but the hot food was not good at all and so we had to resort to carb food items for breakfast. Thr best part of their breakfast was the liquid options that were good.

- Lauren1943 (8/5): Lovely friendly hotel - We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is central to everything & we did plenty of walking after enjoying a lovely hotel breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the ladies who worked in the lobby bar took great care in making lovely cocktails, in fact the mojito was one of the best I've tasted. We stayed in a junior suite which had a city view. The suite was really spacious and had a really comfy bed. The one thing that spoilt sleep quality was the fact there were no curtains in the bedroom, just a see through screen. This meant that car lights shone through as did the early morning light. This could be so easily remedied and I would stay again if it was. All in all though we really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are very comfortable (as are the beds) and the location is great. Unfortunately, the service did not meet expectations. It was difficult to get coffee pods for the room after the first day (especially to get decaf); we had to call one day to get housekeeping to freshen the room when it had not been done when we returned from our day of sightseeing. The front desk staff was not very friendly, except for Jairol--he was very helpful.
- MargaretAnnBeehan (8/5): Great location ,but soon rooms need a refresh . Some renovation's have already started - We stayed at ElAvenida Palace overnight to catch our cruise the next day. When we arrived at reception ,the staff said they upgraded our room which I assume they did . Our room was dated and definitely needed a refresh as did the hallway outside our room.we were in room 950 and from about 11 pm til morning their was a noise on and off like possibly in the pipes. I mentioned it when we checked out the next morning and the staff did ask if we reported it the night before ,however we didn’t as we did not want to move rooms at that hour if that was the option. The hotel itself is a grand hotel and in a fabulous location ! If we are back in Barcelona I would not hesitate to stay there .I understand some rooms are renovated and are quite lovely which I would definitely request now that we know. The roof top bar and pool area though small is also a wonderful area and has been updated . I do hope in the upgrades of the hotel they keep some of the grandeur, especially of the lobby and some other areas.

We decide to re-book another stay once the cruise was over, overly impressed! Worth the $ for the stay...amazing staff, next to everything you want to do in Barcelona, beautiful hotel, clean, cute, quite, just felt so comfortable. You can't go wrong staying at the Avenida Palace. I work at a hotel, and this is the way to stay!

Our room was one of the renovated ones but we had to pay more. There is a phone in the room but it wasn’t working so we had to walk downstairs when we needed someThing which was a bit of a pain. It is a beautiful old hotel, but it feels old and tired for what you pay. The service was fine though. Very attentive staff.

We dined at both eateries they suggested, and they gave us super directions. Gorgeous hotel with a very nice breakfast in the morning. Had airport shuttle there immediately. We look forward to returning soon.
- PAUL (10/5): - Our first stay at this historic hotel was simply wonderful. Welcoming and helpful staff, squeaky clean and quiet room (even in a front-facing "city view" room). Half a block off la Rambla and within easy walking distance of Picasso museum, Gothic Quarter, Casa Batlló, etc.

- A8035YLlisah (10/5): BEAUTIFUL HOTEL IN A FANTASTIC LOCATION - We were in Barcelona for the MotoGP and the location was right near the train station. We stayed for 6 nights and then took a cruise out of Barcelona. It was walkable to so many great attractions, so central. The rooftop pool and bar was an added bonus. The breakfast was delicious and had a great selection. Our room was spacious and spotless. The hotel staff went above and beyond, so helpful and friendly. I have never written a review before but found this to be an exceptional stay and will definitely be back.
- kashifamin (8/5): Comfort, Convenience, and Classic Charm - I had a wonderful stay at El Avenida Palace. The location is unbeatable, right in the center of Barcelona and within walking distance of major attractions. The newly renovated rooms are stylish, very comfortable, and the upgraded air conditioning made a big difference. Staff were welcoming and attentive throughout. The only area that could improve is the breakfast, as the choices are a bit limited. Overall, an excellent hotel that I would gladly stay at again.

Ari sorted us a great room for our stay and we appreciated the cava in the room as a welcome gift. Ari went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. This really is a beautiful hotel snd the pool on the roof is amazing with great views over the whole city. The location is great for tourists as its so central to everything and most things are just a short walk away. The best shops and areas in the city are on the doorstep of this hotel. The bar downstairs is lovely and great to unwind in at the end of the day. Truly great stay here, enjoyed every minute! Would definitely recommend staying here.

- Graham (10/5): - Stayed here for a 3 day break with my wife. Hotel was very easy to get to from the airport since there is a metro station just outside. The location was convenient for all the sights and all transport links easily accessible. The staff were wonderful. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. English was spoken well by all without a problem and we showed willingness to try Spanish which was appreciated. We booked an interior double room which was a comfortable size with a nice shower and a safe for valuables. Rooftop bar and pool were good with an amazing view of the Sagrada Famiglia. Breakfast buffet was excellent (a particular shout out to Veronica who received us at breakfast each day with friendly banter) All in all a great stay in a hotel with loads of character.

- HiDef_inATX (10/5): Wonderful stay in the heart of L'Eixample - Our stay was perfect. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful and the location could not be better. Any form of public transport is right outside the door. Shopping, restaurants and necessities are located within minutes walk. Casa Batllo is right down the street. The rooftop pool was the highlight of our trip with the most amazing views of Barcelona and Sagrada Familia. We had a "juliet" balcony overlooking the Avenida which was great for people watching and a cool breeze at night. Simply lovely,
- louiser793 (10/5): El Avenida Palace - Beautiful hotel, with lots of restaurants in the area. Their is a restaurant on site that requires reservations and they do offer a breakfast option for 21 Euros per person. Loved the rooftop bar area that does have both food and drinks. A small pool is also on the rooftop. Very convenient to tours in the area. Friendly staff. Rooms were cleaned and a nice size. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel.

- Chestertripper (10/5): Our best stay ever in Barcelona! - We stayed for just one night at this beautiful hotel. We had just disembarked from a cruise ship and presented ourselves at the hotel hoping to leave our luggage. Imagine how pleased we were when the friendly lady on reception advised us that our room was available. The public rooms are opulent and there is lots of evidence of the hotel’s luxurious history. Our room was situated on the first floor at the front of the hotel with a view of the road. We were in the themed ‘ Beatles Suite’ which comprised of a wonderfully spacious bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and an entrance hall. As you might expect, memorabilia abounded with Paul’s guitar on the wall together with lots of pictures of when the Fab Four’s stay at the hotel when they played Barcelona in 1965. The hotel boast a delightful rooftop bar and pool area with tremendous views across the city. Breakfast was first class it was served in a bright and airy room. The food choices were extensive and delicious. We were heading home on an evening flight so we were thrilled to be offered a late check out with no extra charge. We both agreed that El Avenida Palace was the best hotel we have ever stayed at in Barcelona.

- John (10/5): Nothing but positives about Avenida Palace - This was our third stay at Avenida Palace, and hopefully, won’t be our last. The service is exemplary— thoughtful, courteous and attentive. The recently refurbished room was comfortable, with the best black-out curtains I’ve seen. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit highlighting diverse and delicious options. Great experience with an ideal location.

A lot is selection of good food with their breakfast buffet. We were able to leave our luggage while we traveled the other part of Europe with no extra costs.
- Lita_mchale (10/5): Exceptional - I was on holiday with my Sister. We were so pleased with our stay and couldn't find fault in any aspect. From the beginning to the end nothing was too much trouble. The room was fantastic and the staff were all so friendly l and helpful. There was a day we were struggling with taxis and what a great help they were. So informative too as we were able to get ideas and tips from a local perspective. I hope to go back soon as the location and everything about the hotel surpassed expectations.
- richardfO9033VA (10/5): Great hotel in central Barcelona - Had a fantastic stay at the Avenida Palace, every member of staff I spoke to went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cater to our needs. Ate out most nights of my stay but had room service one night and the food was excellent. Lovely pool area and suntrap at the top of the hotel although the pool is small and only suitable for a dip in to cool off and not really suitable for swimming in. Special mention for Carlos and Lucciano on the bar downstairs who kept us well looked after with drinks and conversation.

- MICHELLE (10/5): - Great location super close to everything from shopping, eating, cafes, la ramblas, subway in front of hotel. Everything wad just super perfect. Our room was #301 and it qas well equipped. The hotel surprised us with a bottle of bubbly and some snacks. Our room had freat toiletries and for the ladies, we had hair conditioner. This is super important to me as i have long hair. They even took into mind that we are travelling with our child and he had his own set of slippers/robe. Our room was a queen/king and a separate single bed for our 8yr old son. The roof top pool was great for the kids. Only wishes the pool was heated. The water was freezing so us old people feel too cold. But the kids didnt care and jumpped right in. I ended up tanning on the roof top instead and enjoyed the view since the pool was too cold even thoughvit was 27 degrees out. Overall our stay was great, staff is helpful and kind and our room was always cleaned. I would stay here again if I visit Barcelona again.

- Susan (6/5): - I don’t know if I received cup room upgrade. The staff are outstanding except one at front desk when asking for change but initial check in was exceptional. Housekeeping exceptional. The smell of perfumeish masking musty odor is overwhelming. The whole place looks like it needs “polished” - it’s more of a 3.5 star hotel. Could be much better. The carpeting on beautiful staircase needs thoroughly cleaned, the dark hallways need to be repainted and it needs to either not smell or smell clean vs perfumed. Again, excellent staff but property needs attention if they are 4 star.
