Ich habe schon in vielen fünf Sterne Hotels übernachtet und noch nie solch eine große Auswahl erlebt. Die Mitarbeiter im Service waren sehr zuvorkommend und unwahrscheinlich schnell. Ich habe auf meine Tasse Kaffee 2 Minuten gewartet, obwohl das Hotel nahezu ausgebucht war. Die Champagner Auswahl. Hier fehlte ein Brut Nature, den ein fünf Sterne Haus immer vorrätig haben sollte.

For her 13th birthday, my daughter had only one wish: to spend one night at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski München. After already participating twice in a Girls’ Day program within the hospitality industry, she became incredibly fascinated by this world — and especially by this hotel. Her dream now is to manage her own hotel one day. So for me, it was clear: this wish had to become reality. And what can I say? The entire team truly delivered on the highest level. Whether at the reception, in the spa area, or at the Schwarzreiter Restaurant during breakfast and dinner — everywhere she was welcomed with a level of warmth and professionalism that has become very rare today. A very special thank you goes to Christine and Luca from the Schwarzreiter Restaurant, who took such wonderful and heartfelt care of our daughter. They made her feel like a true VIP guest — and I’m certain she will never forget this birthday. The only problem now is… she’ll probably want to celebrate every birthday there from now on. Thank you to the entire team for this very special stay and for proving that service at your hotel is not just a word, but something that is truly lived every single day.

- minnesotans4 (10/5): Superb hotel - Staying at the Kempinski Munich Hotel was a memorable experience for our family of four adults. Previously, we had stayed at a Kempinski Hotel and appreciated the luxurious and historical ambiance. The location was superb within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and beautiful churches. At the time of our booking, we paid for 2 nights with a complimentary third night. Our 2 rooms were very spacious with very comfortable beds and pillows. The complimentary breakfast buffet was plentiful with hot and cold items. Highly recommend!

- Svetlana (10/5): Immer wieder - Wir sind positiv überrascht vom Frühstücksservice, alles wirkt jetzt so angenehm und entspannt! Die Getränke kommen schnell, und das leere Geschirr wird ganz aufmerksam abgeräumt, ohne dass man bitten muss. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Genau so eine schöne Atmosphäre gibt es auch in der Lobbybar. Sehr schön! Danke -

Des petits déjeuners indescriptibles tant ils sont variés et délicieux. Une expérience à vivre et une piscine incroyable. Les lits sont des planches de fakirs. Das Restaurant Schwarzer Reiter bietet eine exzellente Küche. Die Sauna bietet keine Aufgusseinrichtungen. Im Nackt Bereich sind die Liegeflächen begrenzt. Geräusche aus angrenzenden Bereichen sind im Zimmer deutlich wahrnehmbar.

- 549evelinak (2/5): Very poor experience for a luxury hotel - We had a voucher for a superior room from our company for a congress that couldn’t take place due to coronavirus. We got a room below the gym, where someone was running on the treadmill at 7 am on a Saturday morning!!! This was totally unacceptable. After we complained we got a much nicer and bigger room which confirmed that the previous room was standard and not superior. We didn’t have a proper sleep and the first morning was very unpleasant. In the first room there was also a hole in the curtain, which we also found odd, since this was an expensive hotel. Besides we had a massage and a restaurant reservation that were not booked although it was communicated by mail. We were out in the city on our arrival day and we called the hotel cause we were unsure if dinner was at 8 pm or 8:15. No bookings under my name, neither for the restaurant nor massages. The hotel still managed to find spots but the arrival and the first morning were very unsatisfying to say at the least. Also at arrival the receptionist referred us to the QR Code on our room cards when we asked where restaurants, spa area etc. were located. This was a very bad first impressions. Even in hostels you get better service and introduction to the facilities. Very poor service for a so called luxury hotel. Our experience was very good at the restaurant and for breakfast.

I even came back the next day, and she was just as kind and attentive. Although some male guests behaved in an unprofessional way and made me uncomfortable, the waitress and the manager checked on me and made sure I was safe. I’m truly grateful for their care and professionalism. The breakfast was extremely disappointing. I have clear dietary restrictions—gluten‑free, dairy‑free, and pork‑free—and even after notifying the staff, nothing was prepared for me. The lack of effort and consideration made the experience feel unwelcoming and like a waste of money.

Estava muito cheio, era difícil conseguir uma mesa no lobby. Deveria ser melhor organizado principalmente para quem está hospedado no hotel. Teve noite que não consegui uma mesa para jantar com a família.

We had a much better experience at the Sofitel. Beautiful hotel and great location. But we had issues and disappointingly, had several VERY RUDE encounters with staff. We came to Germany for medical treatment for my husband’s terminal cancer and spent our first 12 days at the Sofitel. The staff was beyond accommodating. Managers checked in on us, restaurant staff did the same—even the bellhop asked about him and wanted to know how he was feeling. Everyone was so kind and pleasant. Zero issues. Zero complaints. Everything was absolutely wonderful from the minute we checked in! When we arrived at the Kempinski, the check-in process was easy and the front desk staff was very friendly. When we arrived to the room, there was a handwritten welcome note, candy, a small bottle of wine, and a snack of olives waiting on the table. After getting settled in the room, we went downstairs and had lunch in the cafe. The server was friendly, attentive, polite and we were served lunch in about 25 minutes. When we returned to the room, I called housekeeping to see if we could have a few more bed pillows. These were brought up to the room in just a few minutes but the man who brought them spoke NO English, stomped through the suite and then proceeded to throw the pillows on the floor and stepped all over them. He was then groaning and trying to place a pillowcase on the first pillow. I told him that I would do it and said thank you. He seemed relieved and then left. The next morning, we had the breakfast buffet. The food was good and so was the service. After breakfast, we tried calling the front desk before heading to the medical clinic and the operator flatly refused to put me through to the front desk. I was trying to see if we could get an early “to-go”breakfast for the end of the week because our return flight time was moved up to a very early time and we had already paid for the buffet. Ended up having to do that directly at the desk the next morning. We returned to the cafe for lunch and found it difficult to get anyone’s attention. It was at least 25 minutes before we were asked if we would like anything. Took 57 minutes to receive a chicken sandwich which had RAW bacon on it. My husband’s order was also incorrect but we ate what we were given— minus the bacon. Not great and the opposite of the previous day’s service. Breakfast the next morning was okay. The waffles were cold and hard, some of the fruit (I had the cantaloupe) was obviously not fresh and had a slimy texture. We were directed by the host to sit at a table and so we sat down. A very rude woman then walked by and said, “Get up. Move! Reserve!” The table was not reserved and actually remained empty the entire time we were at breakfast. It wasn’t busy and there were many, many tables free. We don’t care where we are seated, but how about you don’t yell at us after we sit where someone tells us to sit! Unbelievably RUDE and it really soured the whole breakfast experience. The location is really nice and obviously more convenient to Old Town than the Sofitel, but it’s baffling that we paid significantly more and had a much, much lower level of service here. Doubtful we would do it again.
