- Jumar (10/5): Great hotel in the heart of district 1 - Beautiful trendy hotel in the heart of district 1 walking distance from Ben Than market and majority of the sights. My room was very nice, clean, comfortable and very spacious. Breakfast is nice and offered different options for different travellers, staff speaks English to a degree that you would understand one another. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again if I visited Ho Chi Minh in the future and I highly recommend it.

Thin walls so you can hear drawers and closets open and close in other rooms. Pros: 5 stars to the staff as they’re all friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was decent with Vietnamese and Continental menu choices. Hotel walking distance to Ben Thanh market and City Center.

- W (8/5): - We were given the room right above the lobby and street facing. It was extremely noisy. Having a family with young kids, the early morning karaoke guy and late party-goers really dampened the stay. The morning buffet was good. Lots of selections. It is a great location though.
- chanelle (4/5): Decent but won't be returning - Pros: Location! I would say this is the main pro of this place. Location was great and near many things. The rooms were decently clean. Could be better but not bad. Cons: Both rooms we booked had a weird smell (like wet clothes, the front desk workers are not super friendly (look like they just want to go home). Very LOUD at night and morning since its a small hotel on a busy street. You will be awaken early in the morning and hear lots of noise at night as well. Small hotel, no lobby. The lobby is connected to their breakfast room. Breakfast was nothing spectacular either, we went first day and never returned. The price point is in the middle. Next time I'd rather pay for a cheaper hotel (a friend stayed at one cheaper and had less complaints) or pay more and stay at the sheraton down the road. Wouldn't come back here.

- ARTHUR (8/5): - The hotel very near eating places and malls. Its not along a busy street and somehow this is what we like about it. It has modern design to its room and its clean. This is the 2nd time we’ve been here. My constructive feedback would be for the staff to be more relational. They were very good in processing checking in and all but might be good if they relate to guests some more.
- Andrew (6/5): - Unfortunately there was renovation next door, this means loud noises were between 7am to 530pm, 6 days away. The sound was right next to my room, hotel was unable to change my room as apparently it was full, i stayed for 2 weeks. Let just say it was not confortable with cosntant drilling, sawing and banging throghout the morning and afternoon. It would be nice if hotel can advise people of this prior to booking or at least refund so i can go somewhere else. They refused to refund even though i gave them 3 days notice to end my booking early. Expedia helped out but unfortunately their hands were tied because of the property refusing to refund. Only highlight was staff member "Kha" who was great, excellent customer service and always proactive in assisting guest and anticipate customers needs.

The hotel itself is clean but the constants banging and drilling from renovations next door was very annoying. The walls are very thin. Some rooms has sewage smells lingering on and off. Overall the hotel was a good stay cause of the friendly staff.

The first room we checked in was absolutely gross and dusty. After changing the room, the new room was clean but the water hose was rustic and dripping all over the bathroom while we were showering. Will not recommend here!

The room is very clean, small but adequate for sleeping, comfortable beds and amazing pillows. Great air conditioning! The shower had some leaking issues. The toilet had little pressure. The restaurant was not open, but we ate in town. The staff was very helpful and kind.

- Kristina (10/5): - The location is phenomenal. Steps away from Ben Thanh and other sites, all within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was delish and the staff are soooo nice. I suppose it is a tad noisy but that's everywhere in Ho Chi Minh! It is all a part of the fun. Really great shoe store two doors down where I got gorg wedges for 220,000 VD ($11 CAD) and there's a convenience store right by to get giant bottles of water for 10,000 VD. There is also some seating out front where you can have coffee and beer and people watch. Couldn't recommend this place enough xo.

- Shawn (10/5): The Uptown Wins - I visit Vietnam yearly. I generally stay near Ben Thanh Market. Uptown Hotel is literally block away. The Hotel was very nice and clean. The room I received had two twin size beds and a large window to um nothing lol. It was literally small blocked of walkway. The room was very modern and up to date. (Most hotels in this area are generally dated imo) The A/C unit worked so good I had to turn it off burrr. The bath room was very nice, but not practical with the tub. The tub was kind of high to get into and out. The shower head(s) leaked a tad bit around the tub causing the water drip onto the floor. (The floor had a drain so not really a problem until you stepped down from the high tub could easily slip) The hot water worked well! The bed felt great! Pillows also. I generally dont like beds in Vietnam coming from the US but this one was great. The noise level was very good when it came to street noise since being in a busy area. You could hear some other people in their rooms if they were being loud enough. Breakfast is served 8-10am and is buffet style. The food was very good! Clean and fresh. A good amount to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful!. I very much would recommend this hotel to anyone!

- Steven (8/5): Nice location, fresh hotel, great price - One of the best hotels I stayed at in Saigon for the price. Location was great! Front desk was very nice and professional. Lobby and room was new and clean. Breakfast selection was good. Now for a couple of improvement points: 1) house keeping was very loud. Yelling and screaming at each other early in the morning (7AM). 2) breakfast staff don’t smile. They seem upset whenever you request for things. Other than this, Uptown was great! Would stay again!
- Des (4/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful, centrally located but those are the only positives. I read the reviews and saw many people complaining of it being loud but decided to try anyways since it was just for the night. We got no sleep. Was abruptly awoken by so much noise that sounded like someone repeatedly throwing a tennis ball at the wall followed by banging a wrench on the pipes, followed by 10 people aggressively chopping food on a wooden cutting board and hammering 100 nails into the wall that my bed was on. Seriously this went on from about 6am until I couldn’t take it anymore at 9am and left. When I asked the staff why it was so loud they said “sorry construction” if that’s the case they should have offered ear plugs or at least warned guests so we could bring our own solutions. On top of that the room has no windows which I thought would be nice due to long travel and thought it would help us sleep but when I got there it was just claustrophobic and I kept panicking about what would happen if there was a fire since there’s no fire sprinkler or alarm in the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until the “construction” is finished. Otherwise, will meet very basic needs.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is really superb for tourist. A mere 2 mins walk from Ben Thành market, and 3 mins walk from Takashimaya. Plenty of tourist shopping choices around the area. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. But the facilities management can be better. The room my parents stayed in had a broken toilet door, their bedding was less comfortable compared to my room when both are actually same room type. My brother’s room had a faulty door bell.

- Carolina (8/5): - Uptown Hotel has an excellent location. Property is new which is a must considering most hotels are quite old in Saigon. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast has enough good options to suit everyone. The only problem (for me at least) which I found an issue with the hotel is the noise! Rooms are very close to each other so you can pretty much hear what’s going on next door. Additionally the cleaning ladies have odd times at which they clean rooms and are extremely noisy in halls, rooms and banging doors when they do this. Noise was the downside to my stay. Otherwise, great experience.
- Renee (8/5): First visit to Ho Chi Minh - For the price you pay the uptown hotel is very comfortable The night manager Luan is fantastic and couldn’t help us enough, 5 stars for him. But at 4 am in the morning I had an accident with a cup of tea and wiped it up with a hand towel and to my surprise the next day the hotel manager Richard told us,with a smug look on his face, we needed to pay for the towel as it couldn’t be cleaned. Sorry but I wasn’t paying for this and told him so because the spill was all over the electric outlet and it needed to be cleaned immediately and not waited. If it was left for housekeeping to arrive I could have been electrocuted. Don’t have any dealings with this man as he is very arrogant and will not let you speak, he will only see his way. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!
- Bella (10/5): - First of all the staff are amazing. the service was great, nothing i could expect more. there was ants in the room and they helped us changed the room the next day as there were no other rooms available that night so i would say the cleaness was not the best. there was a bit of noise around the hotel and the sound proof wasnt that great i could not sleep very well at night. but overall i would highly recommend this hotel. i will definately book this hotel again just because of the service i received.

Rooms only provide two sachets of coffee, no options for tea drinker :), find your own. no chair in the room , you have to manage with a dressing stool .

The first day the aircon was still ok, when 2nd & 3rd day, the aircon was stop in the middle of the night and the room was hot. I need to wake up and on back the aircon. The breakfast have to improve, the porridge is cold and food not warm
