However the amount of space , comfort and the service made up for it . • Journey26001708656 (10/5): Still and will be the priority for this hotel - Some Staffs are responsive, requested for connecting room and they take the effort to arrange,but it was all occupied, instead they gave me a room opposite with my parents room which I appreciate very much. I was truly touched by the great service given by Spencer and Hadi. Just chat with them, they let you know a lot of things in Singapore of what to do. Open up and you be well taken care of. Overall, a very comfortable stay and highly recommended.

The service was consistently excellent with special focus by this Relationship Officer Spenser (my third times in Hotel Royal and he still remember me and my wife names )whether it was front desk assistance, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my comfort . Their responsiveness to requests was quick and efficient, showing great attention to details . A truly wonderful experience and sure will definitely return again . Highly recommend for anyone visiting Singapore .
• 201craigo (10/5): A genuinely homey and comfortable hotel for long stays - After more than two months staying here, I can confidently say this hotel genuinely delivers on its goal of creating a homey and comfortable environment rather than just a place to sleep. One of the biggest strengths is the rooms. They are particularly spacious by Singapore standards, uncluttered, and very livable, which makes a real difference over an longer stay. I have been working from the room daily, and even after two months it has never felt claustrophobic or tiring to be in. The layout is practical and calming, and the lack of unnecessary clutter makes it easy to settle into a routine. The staff are a major part of the welcoming, home-like atmosphere. Interactions are easy, relaxed, and natural rather than overly formal. It’s clear many of the team members have been here for a while and genuinely get along with each other, which creates a welcoming and steady tone throughout the hotel. While they are friendly and helpful with all guests, over a longer stay they go a step further by remembering you, checking in casually, and making you feel less like a transient guest and more like part of the extended family. The front desk team in particular has been consistently friendly, responsive, and professional throughout my stay. Over time, that level of consistency really stands out. A special mention to Harry, Ling, Alex and Juliene, who have been especially helpful and welcoming, while still reflecting the same warm attitude shown by the entire team. The hotel is clearly popular with tour groups, so there are occasional busy patches around group check-ins and check-outs. However, this is handled efficiently, and once you move beyond the lobby, the hotel never feels crowded or chaotic. Corridors remain quiet and the overall atmosphere stays calm, which is especially important during a long stay. Although the building is older, it is immaculately clean and very well maintained, with nice touches of artwork and local antiques. The environment is consistently quiet, comfortable, and easy to live in day-to-day. In terms of location, it has worked very well for my needs as a Singapore-based guest, with convenient access to transport, food options, and daily necessities. Even allowing for the busy Lunar New Year period, I only booked 1 - 2 weeks in advance and still found the value to be outstanding, especially considering the spacious rooms and consistent service over an extended stay. This is not a flashy or “Instagram” hotel, but it excels where it matters most: space, cleanliness, consistency, and a genuinely welcoming, home-like feel. After more than two months here, it has become a very comfortable home base, and I will genuinely feel a bit sad when it is eventually time to leave.

The place is so clean, the staff there are so good( esp Spencer ) and I want to extendsion on some certain dates which I can't reserve from website . Mr Spencer help me with a walk in for that day so that I need not move to other hotel for accommodation and back to Hotel Royal again . I can’t forget this helpful memory from Spencer to us .. • wyldfamilytravel (6/5): A little old and tired! - The hotel is a little long in the tooth built well over 50 years ago. The location was convenient with a bus stop out front and an MRT state about 5-10 minutes walk away. The room itself was today and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom has a shower bath combination. The shower head could not be adjusted which lead to water on the floor. The bath itself was rusty around the sink hole and had stains from wear and tear. Just all minor things caused by the age of the place. The staff at breakfast were nice and helpful.

He is an amazing and friendly person. He is very attentive and kind. We had great conversations and he was helpful too. Thank you Mr.Noordin for making my stay extra good. Foods were good! Rooms were clean. Bed is comfortable as well. I had a 2 weeks stay and no complain. Location wise perfect to get to anywhere because bus station is right in-front of hotel. If you get something delivered from online shop then the reception also handles it with care and you will receive it safely. Just let them know in advance if something is going to be delivered for you in the hotel.

Hotel's lobby is very clean, comfortable place to waiting for check in time 2. Read their reply from 04/2025 to a review stating they contacted pest control for a different reason but apparently they did not. AC did not work either. Spend the extra $10-$50 per night at a nicer and cleaner hotel, unless you are comfortable sleeping with extra roommates, the roaches!

The location is close by to the train station so is very convenient to travel to Venice and to Trieste to the port. Also, the buffet breakfast was delicious, fresh with lots to choose from. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

• Voyager36274996122 (4/5): I saw an insect that looked like a termite. - We saw some strange insects on the bed in our room, we googled it and it said there were termites in our clothes and suitcases, they changed our room. They didn't even take our clothes to the dry cleaners. We are very upset and wish we hadn't brought these insects with our suitcases.Maybe the other rooms aren't like this, but unfortunately it was our problem. I hope this problem is solved.

She took a towel and caught the bug with a towel when she see the bug it was a cockroach she took a picture and show it to the front desk and they suggest to change to another room but my Aunt doesn’t want and demand a refund bcoz she felt disgusted and don’t have the mood to stay at all so she booked out earlier and she was so angry😡and disappointed..

First interaction is reception and then second staff was very politely they help all the things those we need room was very clean and then last. Food was very delicious.

We booked and pre-paid through Expedia, but they couldn't find our reservation. Hotel is very conveniently located between two MRT stations and there is a bus stop just outside.

• Companion26312810369 (6/5): Happy stay - First of all, kudos to the kind and charming starts. My special credit and love goes to both Yurmilaa & Nora, for their smiley face and kind explainations. The room and the hotel is indeed very clean. No water bottles provided yet they have water dispenser in each floor and water kettle for use. Cozy beds and cleaner room. The hotel seems like a old, but the maintenance seems okay. When I was registering I saw a father and son was complaining that their room roof was leaking since its was raining outside. Guess the hotel is doing their repair and upgrading works floor by floor which is not completd at the moment. Besides that, The concierge guys are very helpful as well. There's this one Indian uncle who helped me so well guiding me on the areas around there and to my destination. Thanks for this nice experience.
• clintonc536 (2/5): Terrible Hotel - We absolutely loved our stay in Singapore. The people are amazing. The culture is amazing. Sadly, the hotel we stayed in we can not say the same for our hotel. Our room smelt moldy. The staff are unpleasant. The buffet breakfast is probably the worst I have ever had. The hotel needs a full revamp. We could have got an amazing hotel in Singapore the same amount of money we spent. Sadly, not a great experience.

• 184naseemg (8/5): Nice hotel - It is a beautiful hotel. The location is very good. The MRT is Novena. There is a bus going just outside the hotel. There is even a hawker food 2 stations from the hotel. The bus will take you there. Breakfast costs $28 so I didn't eat. The room was big.

Room smells of rotting carpet, bathroom has mould on all walls, staff are rude without any care to westerners as I think they make all their money from Chinese tourist travelling in groups and are afraid to say anything. Booked 4 nights only stayed 2 and moved to another hotel and was worth sacrificing the cost of the 2 nights not to be staying in that dump. It's very old , outdated and smelly rooms are awful.

Definitely not a 4 star for sure. They have big rooms that’s the only advantage. Dirty smelly sheets …avoid if you can. We stayed for 3 nights .

• Extraordinary114039 (6/5): Standard - We arrived at Hotel Royal Singapore yesterday night and the first time the reception guy gave us room at level 9 and the room was so smelly like smoke odour. So we call the reception but unanswer and then we went back to the reception again and he gave us the room on level 11.its much better and more bright at this floor. The room isn't clean enough but its OK. Everything is good and hope they clean more for the room....
• David (10/5): - The Royal Hotel is very nice place to stay with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and excellent facilities. It is just a short walk from Novena MRT which makes it convenient for travelling to all parts of Singapore. The Hotel is really good value for money, compared to others in a similar price bracket and we are looking forward to our next stay in February, when we will be travelling back home to the UK.

• Aisha Bee (2/5): - The room was so dirty all over with dust and the black mould on the paint.even the linen bedsheet was so torn they could used for guest.
• Yoshiaki (6/5): - Location is nice, room is renovated. Check in was very slow, cafe reception staff attitude was not good. But cafe service staff were nice. Basically the building is very old and not very clean.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel Royal - Super super old hotel. Recycled and dirty indoor slippers! Super noisy central air-con. Toiletries looks like for budget hotel. Not worth the price.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel Royal only cares about money (not the guest) - Hotel Royal ... Not. The Desk Staff really don't have standards. They only care about money and not the guest. Expect to get told to get "get out" when it's close to time. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

• Mal (6/5): - Location is okay with a bus stop out the front and 2 MTR stations 5-10 minutes walk away. That's where the good points stop. Room is old and dark and need of a freshen up. Staff were miserable and of no help at all. It took me four attempts to get a significant issue in the bathroom resolved (bath plug was stuck so bath/shower remained full of water). Breakfast is not good, but plenty of very average food. Pool is there but just a pool and not very nice surrounds and pool deck is very slippery. In saying that, the price was what made me book there, and now I know why it is cheaper (for Singapore anyway). I wouldn't stay here again.
