Please proceed to 34-36 Clarges street W1J 7EH. Call the House Manager approximately 15 minutes before arriving at the apartment. The House Manager would then meet you at the apartment for the check-in. Please keep in mind that there is no reception area in the building. Contact details will be provided after booking.
Alternatively, should you be unable to call, please proceed to Shaw House, 6 Chesterfield Street, Mayfair, London, W1J 5JQ to collect the keys.
In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), there will be ample hand soap and hand gel in every bathroom and toilet. Towels in the apartment will be changed daily. Linen will be changed as often as guests request it to be done. The property will provide guests with an unlimited supply of masks and gloves.
In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), the property can arrange for a daily food delivery service for guests who are self isolating. Fresh water will be available for all guests in the apartment daily.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. - ingo (4/5): Too much money for what it is - The location is very hood and also the neighborhood. All personal was very helpful, considerate and friendly. Elevator doesn't stop at our floor. The flat had no wardrobe with shelfs to store folded clothes. Wall painting was overdue. Overall no cozy feeling. All doors slam.

Cuisine équipée. 2 toilettes appréciables L’appartement est vieillissant avec des petites réparations visibles, impression pas très propre et pas très chaleureux. Plus petit que sur les photos. Personnel pas très réactif, nous n’avons jamais réussi à les joindre le matin de notre départ pour poser nos bagages et ça nous a coûté une consigne de bagages à la gare.

We couldn’t put our luggage in the Shaw House for a few hours after checking out. House manager didn’t answer me by phone which was shown on the wall in the reception. We were in trouble, afterwards. Hot water was not enough for 4 people. Toilet paper was not enough from the beginning. Towels were not enough.

Just a few minutes walk to Green Park underground station. Good location and extremely quiet at night. Has a small balcony but there isn’t a view. Nice to sit on after a long day Needs some better quality work. You can see it has been updated but the quality of craftsmanship and work done isn’t the best.

- Edzo (4/5): Slecht onderhouden twee sterren appartement maar op een absolute toplocatie - Locatie is absoluut zeer goed: dichtbij het park, supermarkt en underground. Er is grondig schoongemaakt, aangezien de vorige huurders er blijkbaar een zootje van hadden gemaakt. Het appartement is ook zeer ruim. De staat van onderhoud is ronduit slecht: toilet spoelt niet door, verstopping in de gammele douche en wastafels, beschadigingen en slechte afwerking door het hele appartement heen. Nul isolatie dus koud en gehorig, keuken is zeer mager ingericht: na elke maaltijd afwassen want voor 4 personen zijn er ook echt maar vier borden enz. Veiligheid: het slot is zeer mager en gedurende de nacht komt er ongewenst volk aan de deur dus dat voelt niet prettig. Op booking staat dit als een vijfsterren appartement, dat is het echt absoluut niet. Voor dit geld hadden wij zeker meer verwacht en we zullen het dan ook niet aanraden.

Tek olumlu yanı konumu, onun dışında başımıza bir şey gelmeden konaklamayı tamamladığımız için şükrediyorum.

- Raquel (5/5): - The location. The size of the apartment. We booked this apartment mainly because it was advertised as having an extra-large bed and a lift. However, the bed turned out to be a standard double, which made it impossible for us to sleep comfortably with our child, and the lift was out of service. We were told that the “king size” bed they confirmed corresponds to a standard double in the UK, but this should have been clearly communicated in advance, especially since we specifically asked about it when making the reservation. Regarding the lift, several previous reviews mention that it has been out of order, so it seems this issue has not been addressed. The apartment itself is quite old and poorly maintained (large stains on the sofa covered with blankets, scratched walls, broken doors, stained carpet, etc.). Although it appeared relatively clean and smelled fresh, the overall impression was of poor cleanliness due to the visible wear and stains throughout. Overall, while the location is good, the lack of a working lift and the number of stairs made the stay very inconvenient, especially with a child and a stroller. We also felt misled about the bed size—even if definitions differ in the UK, a “king size” bed is generally expected to be larger. In our opinion, there are much better accommodation options available in the same area.

Unfortunately it was not the expected experience vs the provided photos and details on the booking.com website: The furnishings provided were unsatisfactory, exhibiting signs of age, lack of cleanliness, and discomfort. The infrastructure and maintenance were subpar. External heaters were installed inadequately in the bedrooms, posing a safety concern. An external water hose was improperly connected to the sink, obstructing access for personal hygiene. The water pump system was fundamentally flawed, making it difficult to regulate water temperature for showering. Furthermore, the water pump, which appeared to serve other apartments as well, was situated between the two bedrooms, resulting in disruptive noise throughout the night. The apartment's cleanliness was substandard, particularly concerning the floors, shower, and linens. The washing machine was non-functional. While the standard checkout time was 10:00 AM, an earlier than typical for London accommodations, our request for a one-hour extension until 11:00 AM was met with a charge of £250, which is disproportionate and unreasonable. Finally, ongoing construction work directly beneath the building commenced at 8:30 AM daily, causing significant noise disturbance. Although this is beyond the apartment's direct control, prior notification would have been appreciated before booking. In conclusion, this apartment was significantly overpriced given the aforementioned issues and warrants a thorough inspection before any future reservations are accepted.

It was old, worn down, and had an unpleasant smell throughout. The fridge smelled especially bad, and there was also a strange odor coming from the bath. The bed had old, worn sheets and pillows, and the wardrobe was extremely small. On top of that, the elevator button for the third floor was broken, and you had to put your finger into a hole to press it, which felt unsafe. We walked in and almost immediately decided not to stay. I canceled the booking and requested a refund, but only half of the amount was returned, and the owner has been unresponsive ever since.

- Samantha (5/5): Misleading Listing, Good Location - The listing felt misleading. The apartment did not match the photos in the listing. The property advertises several “luxury apartments,” and most of the photos appear to be from other units. Only the living room photo seemed to correspond to the apartment we stayed in, which made the listing feel very misleading. We requested three beds. While three were technically provided, one of them was a bed placed in the entryway. We didn’t end up using this one, as it lacks privacy and is under a skylight, making it very bright when the sun comes up. There were also some practical issues during our stay. The hot water was very limited; on the first day only one person was able to take a short shower before the hot water ran out. The host did come to look at it when we requested it, but we ended up limiting our showers afterward to avoid the problem. The bathroom also had a noticeable sewage smell at times, which suggested there may be an issue with the plumbing or ventilation. The kitchen was advertised as equipped and did serve its purpose, as we did cook some meals, but some basic items like a cutting board and oven mitts were missing. On the positive side, the location is excellent and very close to many major attractions. The washer, dishwasher, and other appliances were also useful. Overall, the apartment served its basic purpose, but the listing should represent the actual unit more accurately so guests know what to expect.

I requested the linens for the sofa bed and the coordinator said he’ll bring some covers, but never did. Since we were 4 people, we really needed that extra bed. Besides, the mattress of the sofa bed was dirty and unsuitable for someone to sleep directly on it.
