Guest Reviews
- Matej (9/5): We loved our stay in via bacchina - yes its 5 floors up stairs but not an issue for us. - The location and ambience of the place is outstanding. There is a lot of custom made furniture which needs maintenance. Need of a bit more maintenance in general around the place.
- Carolyn (10/5): A unique and distinctly Roman apartment in a great location. - Great central location, loved being up on the top floor. Top floor patio was so unique and had great views. It was all great, we liked everything.
- Nicola (10/5): Fab - Amazing terrace with views, spacious, well equipped Nothing
- Inger (8/5): Lovely apartment with lots of character in a great location. - The property is nicely renovated and have lots of character. There is a large roof terrace which offers fabulous views towards Palatine Hill and beyond. Not a problem for us, but the property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, young kids or large heavy luggage due to the number of stairs you have to climb to get to the apartment.
- Ardis (7/5): - Location
- Frances (10/5): Great location. Apartment a treat. - Location and roof terrace A few more instructions in the flat would be good - re rubbish. Couldn’t get kettle to work.
Lots of stairs - fine for us but anyone booking should be aware.
- ale morales stekel (1/5): do not stay here, it is awful - nothing Everything is bad, the pictures have nothing to do with the place. It is dark, dirty, and with mold in the bathrooms. The entrance is creepy, a long narrow staircase to almost a sixth floor with no elevator and no one to help. The place also smelled bad. I did not stayed, staying was to have a bad time in Rome. I told the host I was nit staying as the place did not met what they offered at booking.com
They refused to cancel my booking and did nit refund. Terrible exoerience
- Lauren (7/5): Beautiful apartment in great location, but needs some work. - The rooftop terrace was a standout, we spent so much time there! The apartment feels huge due to the split levels, perfect for our group. For the price we paid, the facilities were lacking. There was no tea, coffee, salt, pepper or basic household items you would expect, especially since we were staying for 5 nights. There was only 1 wine glass… in Rome that seems criminal! Our group wanted to enjoy our Italian wines on the rooftop with cheese and meats, but it didn’t have the same quintessential moment we were seeking with 3 people drinking their wine out of a cup and no cheese knives and basic crockery to use. Overall I think there needs to be basic kitchen items supplied as well as adding more glass where, some cheese knives etc. We were told on arrival that the main bathroom door can’t be shut, as it can get stuck and we could get trapped in there. When travelling with a group, you expect to be able to close and lock a bathroom door to use the toilet or shower in private. After reading reviews it seems that has been an issue for a while, so should be prioritised to be fixed. There also needs to be upfront information that it is 4 flights of stairs, 80-something steps into the apartment. We would have loved a heads up due to how much luggage we had. We still loved our time here, but little changes would make a big difference
- Gregory (8/5): Great apartment close to all the attractions. - Within walking distance of all the attractions. Be prepared for some stairs. But once navigated the apartment is fantastic.

- damien (10/5): - The location was excellent. The place was spotless . That only fault I would have is the 97 steps up to the property on the fifth floor.
There was no mention of these on the site.
It was a major struggle lugging suitcases up those stairs.
Should be mentioned and the fact there is no elevator should also be mentioned .
- Liz (6/5): Characterful apartment but a LOT of stairs and terrible mattress - Location excellent for historic city Master bed was v old and uncomfortable. Mattress must be ancient.
- Sebastian (10/5): Excelente -

- Chris (8/5): Modern Apartment with Amazing Terrace with Views in Monti! - This was one of our favorite places on the trip, the well-equipped TERRACE is truly exceptional, not to mention the great views from the top floor kitchen/TV area (which are on the same floor as the terrace)! We ate lunch and dinner out there two nights. The apartment itself is really cool, but there are LOTS of stairs, some of which are very steep (it is on the top floor of the building) and it is not child-safe if you have babies or toddlers. Location is EXCEPTIONAL, you are only like 5-7 minutes from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, and Monti is a great neighborhood! Plentiful and cold air conditioning! Rent this property for the exceptional terrace and location! With a few small improvements, this great property could truly be first-class, amazing, and a true "10"! The "utility bathroom" has a broken heavy sliding door and trapped my 20 year old daughter - see my comment above about not being child safe... The "master bathroom" also has a strange ventilation problem that makes it smell very bad - owner really needs to install a ventilation fan or consult a plumber about what can be done. Also, there is no automatic coffee machine + coffee provided (which was the case in the other 7 properties we stayed in on this trip) so the owners should consider adding this. Finally, the WIFI was terrible and did not reach the upper floor - owner should have the internet company come by and see what they can do to improve the signal. HOWEVER, this is an exceptional place to stay, don't let these minor issues dissuade you if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Monti!
- Rostyslav (10/5): Great apartments with nice location and incredible terrace - This apartment is perfect for the adults. I didn't feel any discomfort using stairs. The terrace is incredible - we have enjoyed our breakfast there. We couldn't understand how to use the terrace cover. The door in the bathroom can be locked, but it can be easily opened by pushing it from the other side. Therefore, it's better not to close the door if you're alone.
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Darryl (7/5): Great views from the patio - contact and arrangements by email and whatsapp less stairs haha
- Mario (7/5): Good -
- Benny (3/5): Does not worth the money - The location Not like in the pictures. First, there are 81 high steps until you get to the apartment. Second, part of the apartment is renovated and part is very old. There is moisture in the walls and signs of mold. The shower smells of dampness, there are small black bugs and mold in the corners. I had to shower with flip flops. The floor in the whole house is really dirty, and there is such a noise from the flip flops sticking to the floor. In one of the bedrooms the blinds are broken and the sun glares strongly in the morning. Upstairs there are no curtains at all. The beds are very uncomfortable, the mattress makes noise every time you move. There are no blankets on the beds, there are 2 in the closet but they have no sheets. We booked for 5 people but one of the kids didn't have any bedding on the tattered sofa, not even a pillow. We were so disgusted that we didn't want to sleep there another night. The apartment is low level and not as advertised. He owner didn't respond to any of our emails, he only cared about the tax money, and didn't even give us a recite for our payment. Very disappointing.
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andre (8/5): Penthouse with a view. - The location is absolutely gorgeous. You are literally at the heart of Rome. On the same street there is a market place and multiple restaurants in every adjoining street. Still quiet in the evening, so you can rest peacefully. Spacious. Penthouse with a westward view towards Altare della Patria and Campitelli dominating the view. Some signs of heavy use: master bedrooms shades broken a bit, bigger bathrooms window’s lock broken so window will open when windy, smaller bathrooms lock broken and door window from several places, some of the furniture upstairs are broken. Somewhat dirty upon arrival. Please note it’s a penthouse apartment in a house with small corridors and no elevator. Not suitable for elderly and hard for toddlers.
