• Z1939SDadamk (8/5): Great family vacation - After some very last minute changes to our service for an all inclusive in the DR, we had to pivot to a new resort(2 days notice) and the All Ritmo was the best available option for us. We had researched and read reviews over the years while exploring resort options in Cancun/Riviera, and the general consensus seemed to be, the resort was small and needed updating. So here’s our review! Overall: First and foremost, I agree. The resort is small and it’s dated and if you’re going there expecting the equivalent to some of the bigger resort chains, you will be disappointed. With that said, there is something charming about this place. Weathered exterior + pastel colours give it a more authentic vibe. The wooden cupboard/closet doors in the rooms makes you feel like you’re in a hotel in the 1950s. The resort is small, which benefited me as I was dealing with back issues, but you have limited space to move around to. With that said, the atmosphere and vibes are good. The waterpark, again while needing an uplift was a big hit! Pool, Beach and other amenities: We travelled with 3 kids and everyone kept busy. The staff running pool side games were great and brought a lot of enthusiasm and fun. Big shout out to Alex and the entire team for running a great program and engaging with the guests. The main pool is small but didn’t really ever feel crowded(even over the weekend with influx of families). There are limited beds/sitting area though, which was a bit of pain in the butt. The waterpark pool is also small, but serviceable. The basketball court was a hit! The beach is smaller but with lots to see (sting rays, barracuda, smaller bait fish). Bar: There were limited bar options, but the staff were great. Shout out to Alejandro and the crew at the pool bar for keeping us well libated! Drink quality was fine, no higher end liquor options but it wasn’t a big deal. Food: Food was fine, not great, just fine. There is one buffet and the options are pretty limited with little variety day to day. The Mexican à la carte was the best all week! I was disappointed in the coffee, which is generally a highlight for us, it was serviceable but I really look forward to rich, deep flavoured Mexican coffee. The serving staff were great. Shout out to Angy who hustled hard all week and always had a smile! Rooms: the rooms were generally clean and well Kept. We started with a suite with 2 double beds, but I asked for an upgrade and we ended up in a two floor deluxe room with a king bed, 2 double beds and 2 separate rooms. Well worth the $300usd to upgrade for the last 5 days. The rooms were large, though no wifi access in the rooms made it a bit challenging for the older kids. There was also limited room amenities (one roll of toilet paper, no face cloths, no stocked fridge till day 3 etc.). Location gave us great views of the bay, ocean and Puerto Cancun! Value: This was a last minute booking so we do well on the price. I was happy with what we paid and the experience we had. If it’s going toe to toe price wise with larger resorts, that’s a different story. Excursions: The highlight of the week was a private fishing charter! Big shout out to Oscar who is set up right by the pool and ready to help you! It was $600usd (+ tipping and uber ride to Puerto Cancun) for the five of us for 6 hours. We got a great cruise through the mangroves and along the coast. Then we set out for deep waters were We caught two sail fish and 2 tuna! The sail fish fight was an epic 30 minutes! Martin and Jose who ran our boat were awesome and took care of us! All in all, I would recommend this resort, but with the caveat to adjust expectations if you’ve only ever been to larger resorts before! We left feeling the same we usually do, which is I wish we were staying longer. Which is always a good thing :)
• lanabB7628QZ (8/5): Nice & quite resort. - We went as a family. Nice location. Our room was nice, clean with a beautiful ocean view. Hotel is nice and clean but little old and needed upgrade in some places, like bathrooms. People were nice and friendly. There was a seaweed in the water and on the beach which they raked every day. Be careful of sting rays in the ocean, they can sting you and it's painful. They have a photographer on the resort that will do a nice photos for your family. Food was good, everything was fresh. Water park was very enjoyable for our child. With 15 min walk from resort there is a El Meco temple I would recommend to wist. Over we had a good experience. We would go there again.

• Vacation41419661109 (2/5): Whole place needs to be upgraded. Left sick because of the mold! - Julio from front desk was very rude when we checked in. Rooms were as described but there’s so much mold that we didn’t want to be in the room much. Came back home sick because of the mold. Mario in the restaurant was really kind and worked so hard when we were there. Marco and Eduardo at the bar were so friendly and knew what drinks to make before we even got to the bar. I would not stay here again unless the property upgrades and gets rid of the mold in the rooms.

The snack bar burgers we're the only thing I looked forward to food related. Location was amazing right on the beach, to pool, back and forth without any stress. With kids that's a plus. The waterpark was old but a great hit. The entertainment was amazing for the kids. Such a nice family hotel. Clean! Super clean. I felt very at ease in our room because of how clean they kept it. The worst is when I floors start to freak you out haha. The maids did an amazing job.

• tstatch (10/5): Loved it! - We loved our trip to Al Ritmo Cancun water and splash resort! We travelled as a family of 10- ages 6-75 and we all loved it. If you are looking for a small resort with a Mexican feel without breaking the bank this resort is for you. Keep in mind this is a 3.5 star Mexican resort/ most of those writing negative reviews must be looking for a five star resort. You will not find a hotel with rooms closer to ocean front. The beach is swimmable and safe for kids to swim. The Seagrassum wasn’t too bad at all and the staff do a great job of raking up the back every day. The hotel is quite small and clean and the staff were amazing. The food was good and the al la carte restaurants were great- the international one was amazing and very easy to book at the front desk in the mornings. Yes the hotel is dated but we didn’t mind that at all, you get what you pay for;). We all had fun at the waterpark- again it is dated, but lots of fun! The games room was also dated but the kids had so much fun playing ping pong, air hockey and pool. I was a bit nervous after reading the negative reviews of this hotel the week before we went, but we had so much fun and would definitely go back again. A shout out to Alex on the entertainment team- he is full of energy and lots of fun:)

Carlos is very friendly, informative and provided helpful tips. We recommend his services. If you like to go to Playa Del Carmen make sure you mention it at the time of your excursions booking to get it complimentary. The hotel front desk team Kelly and Arturo are very helpful. They make you feel welcomed. The restaurant staff is good. The food is good if you're not picky. If you have special diet set your expectations that it might not be met. In general the food was good. The rooms are clean and spacious. The ocean view rooms are close to the water which is great. The hotel location is in between the hotel zones. You can go for walks safely.
• debsh2016 (2/5): Nothing was good apart from the view - Location brilliant, that's about it. Hotel totally outdated. Needs a good clean. Room 3011c stunk of sewage, but apparently it was cleaning stuff. Complained many times, same thing, cleaning fluid. Food-what a pile of rubbish, same things rehashed, from morning till night! So didn't eat much. Best thing about all the food was the burgers at snack time. Hotel staff, very rude, especially, Emma-security, Abi -on outside bar Jare-on outside bar. Don't like English people, served others before us. Not nearly enough sunbeds, for amount of people. Not enough seats, nowhere to sit most of the time, floor or wall. Nothing to do around location. Very boring.
• mdbjlb (4/5): Wish I knew before booking! - A few items to note that I wish I knew booking this resort: 1. the resort is on a major road, there is no security and anyone can walk onto the property. 2. With the resort being on a major road all of the doors for the main building of the resort face the road, resulting in road noise (buses, cars, motorcycles) till late in the night and early morning are heard from your room. 3. To receive a resort towel for the pool you need to give your government ID as collateral. 4. The resort is non smoking (even on the beach) you have to go across the street to a smoking shack. 5. The standard rooms are across the street by the water park and you would have to cross the street or use the tunnel to access the main area and beach. The resort is run down, needs a major cleaning and a facelift. Beach is small, not enough lounge chairs (arguments happen due to this), deck is peeling paint, have to beg or tip well to receive name brand liquor (all they show on the bar is rail). I should say we do tip well but for the first two days we were told there was no Bacardi but on day 3 suddenly it was there hidden in a cooler. Will not go back. Will give another review on our room with pictures.
• 399carleenk (4/5): All Ritmo Cancun: Falls short of expectations - Our stay at All Ritmo Cancún Resort & Waterpark fell well short of expectations on nearly every front. Our room had visible mold and mildew, a dirty shower, uncomfortably hard beds with a single flimsy blanket, and a patio door missing its handle—a basic safety concern that set the tone for the trip. Staff responded quickly when we reported the issue, which we appreciated, but it was never fully resolved. The food itself was good, but the dining experience was consistently frustrating. Restaurants rotate through shared spaces, limiting options each night. Reservations—when available—were restricted to 6:00 or 8:30 PM with no flexibility, and understaffing led to long gaps between courses and minimal interaction with wait staff. Evening entertainment didn’t begin until 9 PM, which is simply too late for families with young children. The oceanfront pool and waterpark were visibly run down, with missing bolts and broken boards on the structures—hazards that have no place at a family resort. The one bright spot: lifeguards were present and attentive, which was reassuring. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts and consider myself a fair but discerning guest. Even so, I was surprised this property holds an RCI Gold Crown designation and recent service excellence awards. My experience was the opposite of what those ratings suggest. Between the deferred maintenance, operational limitations, and overall lack of polish, I wouldn’t book this resort again.
• P4250CWmarzenak (2/5): Horrible would never go there again. - The worst hotel and service I’ve ever experienced. There isn’t a single competent person there. Staff were rude unless you were giving them tips. We were travelling with a 5-year-old — forget about receiving a packed lunch if you’re going on a full-day trip with the all-inclusive option. I was told they fdont provide it. We were told there would be a “continental breakfast” in the lobby. What they meant was old, dry rolls left over from previous days and black coffee — nothing fresh, no hot water, and no tea option. Coffee for 5 years old??? There is no access to tea or coffee during the day outside of breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and even then, you have to wait for someone to eventually bring it. The hotel is in poor decorative condition, with paint peeling off in the bathroom. The water park area is in an extremely poor state — everything looks rotten and badly maintained. It feels unsafe, and honestly, it seems like it’s just a matter of time before an accident happens. There is no kids’ club unless you want to stay with your child and provide activities yourself in the so-called “kids club room.” Absolutely horrible experience. We will never come back and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ive asked to speak to the manager and no-one ever bother to come.
• 619zaras (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - I honestly don’t even know where to begin with All Ritmo Cancun Resort & Water Park — hands down the worst “all-inclusive” experience I have ever had. The room was absolutely filthy. The curtains were covered in mould, and the bathroom was even worse — mould everywhere, cracks running across the ceiling, and paint literally flaking off onto my head while I was showering. I felt like I needed a hard hat just to wash. To make matters even more disgusting, there were what looked like ejaculation stains on the sofa in the room. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was revolting and made me question whether the room had even been cleaned at all before we arrived. The air conditioning sounded like a helicopter taking off every time it switched on, making sleep impossible. And if that didn’t keep you awake, the paper-thin walls would — you can hear absolutely everything happening next door. Zero privacy. The food was awful and painfully repetitive. The same bland options day after day, barely warm and completely uninspiring. Breakfast was served in cracked cups, and at dinner I was handed a glass with someone else’s lipstick still smeared all over it. Completely unacceptable hygiene standards. For an “all-inclusive” resort, they somehow kept running out of alcohol. How does that even happen? You pay for unlimited drinks and they can’t even stock the bar. The WiFi was the worst I’ve ever experienced — constantly cutting out and barely usable. Don’t expect to stay connected to anyone back home. The pool area looked neglected, with tiles fallen off and clearly not maintained. It felt unsafe and run-down rather than relaxing. The staff were rude and dismissive throughout our stay. There was a clear hostility toward English guests, which made the whole experience even more uncomfortable. If you’re English and expecting a welcoming atmosphere, think again. The most upsetting part was witnessing a member of staff beating a stray dog near the property. It was shocking and completely unacceptable. This place is dirty, poorly maintained, badly managed, and nowhere near the standard it claims to be. Save your money and book literally anywhere else. If you want a decent holiday in Cancun, do not stay here.
• Galaxystar1234 (6/5): Multiple room and accessibility issues- staff and food help somewhat - We went with 2 kids (baby, toddler) and grandparents in early Feb to this resort. Pros: 1-Entertainment staff is wonderful! Great shows and activities conducted by them. 2-staff serving at the restaurant and bars is great. 3-excellent housekeeping staff. Very tidy and quick at their work. 4- Although only 1 restaurant, there is a good variety of food in buffet. Good food. Also good snacks available. Cons: 1- Multiple issues with rooms: outdated furniture, no refrigerator, no iron, no coffee maker 2- blanket had a bad odour on our first night at the resort. Safe box was also broken. We were able to get the room changed due to issues and that helped resolve this issue too. 3- this is not accessible resort at all. Multiple stairs are present. This is a HUGE issue if you are travelling with a stroller or wheelchair. There is no elevator too. We found this super challenging with a stroller for baby. 4- no standing showers are available readily. The resort could not confirm how many standing shower rooms are available and if we could get it for elderly parents. 5- no tissue box is given for the room. 6- no beverages (canned) given for any possible(?) refrigerator. 7-daytime manager at the reception is not courteous. 8- you need to give drivers licence to get towels at the pool. This seems a bit too much considering the towels should be a regular facility. 9-The crib provided was super dirty and had bad odour. We had to return it as baby was teething and would put the edges in mouth. Very unhygienic. Overall, the resort is not that great in its physical aspects - accessibility, amenities and worn out/ super old furniture. However, the staff (in general) is excellent and try their best to fill in the gaps. The service is great by staff and food is good. The value doesn’t live up to expectations. It’s important that the resort works on the physical aspects (rooms, furniture, amenities, elevators/ramp) to improve their resort to get repeat guests. Unless changes are made we wouldn’t be looking to go back.
• Y1417KFtubak (10/5): Good service and staff - Such an amazing resort with kind workers, specifically Mario and Miguel who are at the buffet, they are such nice people! The service is also good, they provide room cleaning every day, and all the workers here overall are so kind and fun. As for the activities there are a few to do such as kayaking, sports, swimming, etc. And the food is also amazing with many options daily. The beach is beautiful and sunset and sunrise is really fun and exciting to watch. The bar is open till 11:00pm and the drinks are amazing for when you need something refreshing, they also serve many non-alcoholic drinks which is perfect. The hotel overall is amazing with really kind and helpful workers, good food, many fun activities, and amazing service, 10/10!!
• najiar2026 (10/5): Lots of Fun - The activities and mini competitions were incredibly fun and enjoyable for all ages. Kayaking was both entertaining and a great experience. The game room was were we spent lots of our time, it had 8-ball, table tennis, air hockey, and several arcade games. We spent a lot of our time there meeting new people and playing, which made the stay even more enjoyable. When it came to food, there were a few Western options available, which I mainly stuck to. Room service did an excellent job every day, our room was always spotless. The janitors and cleaning staff were constantly working, so the entire resort stayed very clean at all times. The beach was well maintained and had little to no seaweed. Any seaweed that did appear was quickly cleaned by the staff. Since it’s a natural occurrence, there was some but most of the time there was none at all. The rooms could benefit from some renovations, but overall they were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and most of the necessary utilities were provided. At one point the showerhead started running cold water, but the staff handled it professionally and even upgraded our room for free, which we really appreciated. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Everyone truly tried their best to assist us, Mario, Miguel, and Pepeboy, the lady serving fries and burgers at the waterpark, the receptionists, janitors, activity staff, and bar workers. Mario and Miguel especially stood out, they were both excellent, very friendly, and always went out of their way to help us.
• superhoopsa67 (2/5): DO NOT GO HERE ! - Awful just awful, Do not go here if English ( or any other European) or American. The food is absolutely disgraceful with very little choice and barely any variation from day to day . For the most part the food was kept heated on Bain Marie’s and was never more than lukewarm warm but mostly cold . Breakfast was only saved by the omelette station but that wore thin after a few days. There were no preserves or marmalade for toast (we had to go to Walmart to buy our own) . When we asked for teabags they informed us that they didn’t have any , again we had to supply our own via another trip to Walmart . The staff apart from the lovely Kelly , were for the most part rude and not bothered . On one occasion when we mentioned that there was no bread ,the waiter ???? mentioned ( not realising that my partner and I both speak Spanish) to another guest that we were “typical “ English , when we reported this ,even though others heard it , the management took no action but strangely put a cake in our room fridge by way of an apology. …odd ! On one occasion I got a slight eye infection and asked for some eyewash only to be informed that they don’t have any first aid whatsoever. When I asked what would happen to a child who could easily get sand it there eyes from the beach they just shrugged their shoulders. I was told to use a shot glass as an eye bath ,almost unbelievably when we asked at the bar for said glass we were told we couldn’t have one …cue another trip to Walmart . How they proudly describe themselves as having a water park is just laughable. It was a small handful of small dangerous slides that I certainly wouldn’t let any child of mine any where near. The decor was tired and obviously never properly maintained in fairness it was except the hot plate area !!’ For the most part quite clean . Such a shame that what could be a beautiful resort is a tired , worn out place run by people who seem to be at best fickle about the service they provide. This was apparent from the moment we got to our room on the first day , we hadn’t had a chance to get any local currency and the smallest in US dollars we had was a $50 so couldn’t tip the porter for carrying one of our case 25 yards . He was so obviously annoyed that it was quite embarrassing.
• heidil324 (6/5): Not so bad at all - We had heard some bad experiences of this hotel and didnt know what to execpt. Well, when we arrived hotel in a very exhausted stage after 15 hour journey we got room fast, but it wasnt cleaned. We got another room with a nice location by the sea and it was overall very ok room. Cleaning was good every day and bed was very big and nice. We slept very well even though the nearest road made some noise. Warm water was needed to wait quite a long, but when you knew it it wasnt a problem. WIFI didnt work well, not at all in our room , so you needed to go outside if you wanted to have some connection. That was a big minus. Another minus I would give of food, it could have been better but we didnt suffer of hungry anyway. The service was overall very nice and good, sometimes in the restaurant you had to ask a spoon or go to get coffee by yourself (I guess it was served to the table) but thats wasnt a real problem. We got all inclusive and drinks were also included. I would suggest some drink list, also some menu to the snack bar. You had to ask what kind of drinks are included etc. beause there was no lists at all anywhere. Food in other two restaurant (one of these was snack bar in a daytime outside) wasnt nothing special either Im sorry to say. Beach was nice and very clean and well "done" every morning. We wanted to give tip for a "beach boy" that was cleaning beach every morning so well and he did a hard work there. Location was also something I dont recommend if you want to be near any shops or other restaurants. So then pick up some other hotel. You need to walk 1-2 km to nearest small shop or use uber or taxi. But overall not bad experience at all, and I dont want to say "dont go here", just saying this is not business hotel or the newest ones , time is really shown in everything in the buildings and rooms but if moderate is enough this is certainly the best you can get with the budget.
• Mwils003 (2/5): Save your coins, this joint is not it! - This place was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Everything from the room and food to the dirty beachfront was subpar. The property is very outdated and clearly hasn’t been renovated in years. Even after upgrading our room, it lacked basic amenities like a table, the refrigerator was rusted and not working, the curtains had visible mold, the shower didn’t function properly, and the tiles were broken and worn. I even had to request wash clothes.😵‍💫. The benches in the pool along the bar are rusted and look disgusting. The food was also a letdown, rating no more than a 3 out of 10. Considering the price, there are far better options available. Save your money, this place is not worth it.
• CORINNAK376 (4/5): Do not recommend - It was disappointing. Very dated and questioned the cleanliness. The buffet didn't change much, front desk not very helpful. We got more help with hotel questions from the people selling tours. Water park was old and parts of it not functioning. Lots of rust . Tiles coming off in the pool, leaving sharp edges,my daughter sliced her toe open.We talked to others with a similar experience. Manager stated the pool is safe, and has had no complaints. No effort to rectify anything. You had to leave your ID if you wanted a beach towel, or volleyball, or soccer ball. If we had a bigger budget, we would have changed resorts. The pictures online are not accurate. The pool deck has been cut back,needs refinishing. The staff actually working, like cleaning staff and waiters/bartenders were great. I would not recommend this. Shame on companies like Sunwing who promote this as a great place. They also did little to assist us. I wish I had better photos to share. My honest opinion.
• martincI7144EM (2/5): Do not go to this hotel - Hotel was far from a 4 star hotel, then have a scam running on every person that arrives telling the rooms are no good and they can upgrade you for 250$ per room. They tried to charge me 4500$ told me the booking wasn't paid for wouldn't give Internet access so I could prove on the app until I did the 500$ upgrade as they did not have the room available to show me, I asked how are they giving me a upgrade if rooms not paid for but they gave me no choice to pay 500$ then gave us rooms and never mentioned the 4500$ again. We spoke to 6 different families over the two weeks and they had done the same, then come to the food and refreshments no tea and coffee like advertised no food selection for kids and the 6 choices of food you could get was all rotten we had to go out to the local restaurants for food for the 2 weeks we was there. The full resort was run down dirty l, all the was on commission on up selling you something, waterpark was not safe all rusty and damaged broken floors and steps then slides was uneven and hert the kids when they tried to go down them.unelss you tip the staff they just ignore you if you ask for something they say they will bring it but until you ask 5,6 times or tip you don't get it even just ketchup, the only staff that didn't was the bar staff, the only way you can get taxis is to ask the bell boys but they would always try to get you to go to there recommendations to upsell you something, this hotel may have been a 4 star 5 years ago but would be luck to make a 2 we have stopped in far better 3 star hotels for alot less money.

Pool deck looks like its gonna collapse. Enough seating for like 20 people at the pool and beach. Which is pathetic. Overall ok at best. Not bad if you get it for a cheap price. Beach is beautiful though.
• markcU790ZB (6/5): It could do a lot better - We traveled as a family with a 14 year old and are leaving today. If I’m being entirely honest, it’s not really lived up to the expectations. The details advertised and pictures are not really true. That being said, we have had an ok time. The accommodation is very basic and cleaned on a daily basis. However we had a balcony facing the sea, but there was no furniture which allowed us to use it, I did ask for some but it never arrived. We had a room that had an internal door to another bedroom, which meant we could hear everything next door were saying whether it was early in the morning or late at night and found ourselves whispering after 9pm.. Food… both my wife and son found it difficult to eat each day as the lack of choices and odd types of food, very little selection, for lunch and dinner my lad could only eat rice, broccoli and cucumber.. on half of the nights we used uber eats to order food in (thankfully this was easy to do) for me, I found it ok as I’m less picky. Bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful, drinks are plentiful but only full fat Pepsi and lemonade is available, no diet options.. the shop did sell these so had to do this although on an all inclusive. Pool & beach We loved the beach and it was lovely it was kept so clean, the pool was a tad cold, breathe deep when you jump in. It’s a bit dated but lovely in the sun. My biggest issue with the outside areas was that there is nowhere to sit after food. There are no table and chairs outside only sun loungers, which made us have early nights.. sitting down with family and meeting people is an important part of holidays for us. As for the waterpark, well that’s up for debate.. ok if you have young children 12 or below, after that it’s a loose term to use. On reflection as I sit in the lounge waiting for our transport is that it could be a lot better, it comes across that the hotel is trying to be cheap and cut corners on what I would say is all inclusive, they constantly run out of drinks and with such limited choice.. we have to be out of our room by midday and our transport is 1.40pm but we have had to pay additionally for lunch although we arrived at 6pm on our first day… some parts good, equally some parts bad.. would I come back again… I don’t think so

• Stay684811 (2/5): I’m now home from vacation very sick from mold exposure!!! - There were a few positives to our stay, but unfortunately the negatives far outweighed them. The only true positives were that the beach was just steps from our patio, which was very convenient, and I generally felt safe while on the resort property. The major issue was mold exposure in our room. Mold in the bathroom was visibly present on day one. After speaking with other guests, we learned to check the curtains, which we did not do until day four or five, and they had significant visible mold as well. I emailed the hotel about this and was told the curtains would be cleaned, but they never were. I also never received a follow-up response from the resort. I have kept copies of all emails. Since returning home, I have been sick with upper respiratory symptoms consistent with mold exposure, requiring medication and causing me to miss work. I know other guests experienced similar symptoms and were also working with their travel agents regarding compensation. The resort itself needs major maintenance and upgrades. Many areas are worn down and falling apart. The water slides are rough, with some sharp spots that made them uncomfortable to use. There are not enough lounge chairs at either the pool or the beach, making it very difficult for families. The food was very poor, tasting the same every day with little to no variety. Communication was also difficult, as most staff spoke Spanish and had limited English, which made ordering food and drinks frustrating at times. Simple requests, like asking for butter, required repeated requests and staff often seemed irritated. As an adult guest, I also found the drink service frustrating. When I requested a blended margarita, I was told they could not make it because they only had two blenders and they were used for kids’ drinks. I had to argue and explain that I paid for the trip and wanted a margarita, which should not be an issue at an all-inclusive resort. Other inconveniences included having to leave a driver’s license to check out towels or equipment, receiving only a couple of towels in the room for a family of five, and having to repeatedly request more. Overall, this resort was extremely disappointing. Between the mold exposure, lack of maintenance, poor food quality, and lack of response from management, I would not recommend All Ritmo Resort & Waterpark. We are currently working with our travel agent in hopes of receiving compensation for this trip.
• 294jeffn (8/5): Overall: 7/10 – great value, quiet, very family-friendly - Overall, great experience at the All Ritmo Resort. 7/10. Detailed review below. I’ve been to around nine other resorts in Mexico, so I have a solid baseline for comparison. This review is from a Canadian perspective, and we stayed for two weeks over Christmas and New Year’s. All Ritmo is a very family-friendly resort with a lot going for it. If you’re looking for a party resort, this is not it. Even at peak season and full capacity, the resort never felt crowded, and there were rarely lineups for anything. Guests were almost entirely families, with very few partiers. It’s a very quiet resort, which I really appreciated. It’s a smaller resort (around 150 rooms). If you’re expecting the same experience as a large Dreams or Barceló, you’ll notice differences. The resort is split into two sections: the main lobby, pool, buffet, and beach on one side, and an underground tunnel under the road leading to the waterpark, sports area, theatre, and special-event buffet on the other. Walking between the two takes less than two minutes. The resort is older, but generally well maintained. Because of the smaller size, there were always beach chairs available and no fights over them. I never saw people getting up at 6 a.m. to reserve chairs. Everything is very close together: pool, beach, restaurants, and theatre are all just a short walk away. Again, due to the size, the main buffet doesn’t have the massive selection you’d find at larger resorts. That said, I was very impressed with the quality of the food. I’d say the quality is better than many big chains. There were always multiple meat options, plenty of vegetarian choices, and at least one fish dish. Desserts were good but fairly repetitive. There was no ice cream anywhere on the resort. À la carte restaurants can be reserved online or through the concierge. Even at peak season, reservations were almost always available. The Ostras restaurant is very well done, with great food and excellent plating, and was one of the highlights of the resort. The snack bar doubles as the Italian and Mexican restaurants in the evenings. They were fine — nothing wrong with them, just nothing fancy. Snack bars were exactly what you’d expect and located at both the main pool and the waterpark. On weekends and for special events, the buffet is moved to the theatre and upgraded, with more variety and higher-end items like good sushi, smoked salmon, and turkey. The rooms are spacious but dated. They’re very large, the A/C worked well, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning daily. The mattresses, however, are not great. My wife has a bad back, so we ended up ordering a pillow-top mattress topper from Amazon, which helped. The mattresses are probably the biggest drawback of the resort. Rooms include a safe, but you need to ask the front desk for a lock and key. I lost one key and they had to drill the lock, which cost me $70 CAD. I felt that was fair. It took about 20 minutes, which actually made me feel better about how secure the safe was. There’s no mini-fridge in the room, but they bring two bottles of water daily. I initially thought water would be an issue, but there are fresh water dispensers all over the resort. Our room faced the street, and we occasionally heard traffic noise in the mornings. The main pool is excellent. It’s right on the beach and was never overly crowded. Some tiles were missing, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. We brought water shoes but didn’t end up needing them. There’s a swim-up bar, but I never once saw anyone using it during our two-week stay. Towels are loaned out and exchanged as needed, with ID required as collateral (which I didn’t love, but got back at the end). Towel service is only available at the main pool, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The waterpark area is also very well done. The water was clean and the kids had a great time. There’s a bar with limited hours. There were lots of wasps around the waterpark bar, but I didn’t see anyone get stung. The waterslides are decent, and the kids’ pool is good. Again, some missing tiles, but no real issue. The waterpark was the highlight for the kids. Chairs were always available; shaded ones were usually taken by noon, but there was no rush. Mini-golf was poor. It’s run-down concrete with only a few balls and putters. My four-year-old loved it, but it’s not well done and not a main attraction. There’s one main bar just outside the buffet and next to the pool. The bartenders were great, and we never waited more than a couple of minutes. We brought large tumblers and had them filled instead of using the small plastic cups. This was a better experience than at larger resorts, where lineups can be constant. There’s also a lobby bar, but we only saw it staffed once in two weeks. Not a big issue since the main bar is about 10 metres away. The beach was fantastic. Quiet, with chairs almost always available. Beautiful sand and tons of seashells. Some days the water was a bit murky, other days it was crystal clear. Lots of palm trees for shade. Kayaks are available to borrow. Snorkeling was decent, with some fish, and the surf was generally calm. They did a solid job managing sargassum daily. Almost all staff were very friendly. The only negative interaction we had was just after check-in, when someone rushed over to aggressively sell us something and got upset when we told her to back off. Aside from that, everyone was great. Highlights included the main bartenders (Alberto especially), the waiters at Ostras, and Carlos, who arranged excursions. Carlos was knowledgeable, honest, and would even tell you when it was better to book things yourself, which I really appreciated. The location is excellent. We walked down the road to the Mayan ruins at El Meco, which was a great experience. You’re also very close to Isla Mujeres, which I highly recommend. The ferry terminal is about a 30-minute walk or a $5 Uber. A trip or two there is a must. It’s also about a $10 Uber to the Hotel Zone or Plaza Las Américas if you want shopping or a change of scenery. The gift shop is exactly what you’d expect: expensive, but it has essentials if you forgot something. Overall: 7/10 Pros: Quiet, uncrowded, great staff, excellent for kids, great location, excellent beach, Ostras restaurant, clean, good food quality Cons: Mattresses, no ice cream, limited food variety, no mini-fridge For the value, I’d definitely recommend it. I don’t think I’ve stayed at a better value-for-money resort in Cancun.

• Julio Luis (2/5): - El personal al llegar trato de engañarnos en ofrecernos vista al mar algo que no le vi sentido porque por eso no lo coji desde antemanos, una el zargazo y otra que vivo frente al mar y no le veo sentido, y se molesto oal yo no aceptarlo. Tambien yo dedicaria un dia completo a mi hijo en el parque de agua algo que no fue asi me obligue a ir a otro lugar y pagar por eso ya que el parque de agua no cumple con las reglas de sanidad, el agua nada de cloro tenia. Y tambien estaba casi por caerse. Como se todo tuviera pega, fue espantoso, el unico servicio que nos gusto fue el del cuerto. Fue un gran servicio pero de lo demas nada que ver.

Moldy bed sheets on the box spring, sliding door was broken (could hardly use it), you could see daylight around the door frame, the lock on the door was a joke. They did not have diet soda (my husband is a diabetic), VERY limited food choices, no fruit available, no kid friendly foods. Our bathroom was very outdated and dingy, we only had a thin sheet and very thin blanket on each bed - which was rock solid! We even paid $150 MORE for an upgrade for this room - not realizing the condition of it! Pool was murky, not very clean and a lot of missing tiles on the ground. Waited a while for service (while the bartender was chatting with coworkers). I needed to provide my drivers license to rent their pool towels!!! We opted to get an Uber and relocated to another hotel (happened to be an hour away and was there 2 weeks ago). Did not feel safe here. Happy we left and got to a better resort.

Instead we would have to go off of the resort somewhere in town to wash our clothes. Will never stay here again. A HUGE inconvenience, especially if you plan to stay for a bit.

We didn’t have lamp shades on our lights. dents in the drywall someone’s head must of got banged up against the wall, front door had a large gap underneath the door, cracked drywall with a bad caulking job, mildew on the curtains, ceiling fan dusty, bath tub had rust inside such as where the soap lays or handle to turn on/ off water, as well as the tub stopper. It had a musty smell inside. I called it the homicide room.
• Cecilia Andrea (10/5): - We stayed at All Ritmo from July 15 through July 23. We had an amazing experience. I asked for an upgrade when we checked in and was given one for a small increase in price. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the beautiful clear blue waters. The room was enormous, with a beautiful balcony, a large bedroom with two queens beds, a full kitchen, living room and bathroom and walk in closet. The staff was incredibly nice, courteous and helpful. We took advantage of everything they had to offer, the pool was clean, warm, three Jacuzzi tubs and the beach just five steps down. My kids loved the pool games and activities. The trivia games were fun and not to mention the amazing water park. What really drew me to this hotel was the location. It was not in the middle of the Cancun chaos and strip. We were only 15 minutes away, apart from the traffic and noise of the Cancun hotel strip. The restaurants were very accommodating. I had my daughter she is 12 years old and my son who's is 17 and the Ostras restaurant accommodated us at a 6pm reservation. Amazing seafood dinner, shrimp bisque soup overlooking the ocean. Our vacation was absolutely amazing. Thank you Bernardo, Dana, Kevin and the amazing staff. I would recommend All Ritmo 110%. Cecilia from West Islip, New York!!

• Christy (2/5): - I booked this resort through Expedia, and what should’ve been a fun family trip turned into a terrifying experience. On July 3, 2025, my son was badly injured on the pink and yellow water slide. He fell so hard that he suffered a deep laceration to the back of his head, down to the skull. There were no visible warnings, no protective padding, and no staff actively supervising the area. A lifeguard did clean his wound and file an incident report and checked the slide, before telling us to get a taxi to go to the urgent care, but after we returned from the hospital, no one from the resort followed up. No concern, no acknowledgment, nothing. I also nearly flew off a different slide myself and another child lost a toenail, confirming the waterpark is unsafe and poorly maintained. I contacted Expedia for help and was told they couldn’t reach someone with authority at the resort, not once, but twice, even after speaking with a supervisor at Expedia. Their only offer was 100 One Key Cash, not an acceptable offer, so I declined but why do they need my permission to add it? It's still not been applied to my account. This wasn’t a minor issue. It was a serious injury to a child, and neither the resort nor Expedia took real responsibility. I do not recommend this waterpark, especially for families. And while the hotel might be okay under normal conditions, the way this was handled shows that if something goes wrong, you’re on your own.
• Ahmed (8/5): - Beautiful property but i didn't like the beds usa queen sizes its double bed alot smaller and need some upgrades, shower head, faucets looks very old no microwave or refrigerator at units , breakfast always great but dinner very poir even when it comes to " restaurants " Italian only has 7 inch samll pizza, and 2 other meals and all restaurants they have very limited to order only 3 different meals to irder from but gust serves excellent and bar always open great drinks
• Lisa (4/5): - The hotel was nothing like the pictures. The rooms and property were outdated dirty and smelled. The door to our bedroom didn't close 100 % so you can see the outside. The bedding was dirty and dingy even after being replaced. The beds were uncomfortable but did the job. We wished staffed cleaned up a little better, the pool and surrounding areas were always dirty with cups and trash. The all-inclusive deal was a little weird compared to other locations I have been to in Mexico. The buffet was the same every day for the most part, Breakfast lunch and Dinner. The 2 restaurants they had onsite were ok, you have to make a reservation in order to attend which makes sense with the crowd i just wish we had more food options. I was also a little upset that we could not bring the buffet food to our rooms or pool side. Everything had to stay in the dining room area. The bathroom has a drain on the floor that smelled like swage which we had to cover with a rag. I also update that this was a family Friendly hotel with a waterpark, and we didn't have any good snack options for the kids. No ice cream, Italian ice or Candy. It was the same 3-4 slices of cake at the buffet. The water park was falling apart; someone one will end up getting hurt soon I'm sure of it. The water also smelled awful. The seaweed made the beach experience awful, I understand it' a major problem at all locations but this location was trying to upsell you to a day pass at a different location with less seaweed

Coverings on beds on the beach were dirty and not changed regularly. Room description inaccurate- reserved a suite, which stated it had a living room, but it was just a large bedroom with just a large bed and not even a chair. Sink drain partially stopped up and housekeeping didn't report it for 5 days. Tub drain had green mold coming up in it. Very limited food choices in the one buffet- same thing basically every day for lunch and dinner. Would not recommend this resort .

• Angie (10/5): - This was a very clean and welcoming place. We stayed next to a ferry station. The building itself is beautiful, but it could use some updates. Our room was cleaned early mornings throughout our stay. The food was okay. The service was excellent. The beach had seaweed, but the hotel was very good at keeping it clean. Everyday workers were there cleaning the beach and raking the sand. Tbe hotel has a waterpark and a kids club. They also had mini discos, movies, games and tons of things to do for little ones.

Arturo at the front desk was very professional and accommodating with some issues that did arise on our visit. Everything taken care of in a timely manner. This resort I was told is about 50 years old which explains why it’s in great need of some serious updates. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the food because some reviews I read before going were not too positive. I loved the daily fish and the seafood ceviche were my favourites. The a la carte restaurant by the marina was delicious and Jose made our dining experience wonderful.

We’re told the 2 were complimentary and that’s it even though we had a family of 6. We wanted to order food late but didn’t speak spanish asked if they could help us order a pizza got a very hard rude no. Water park had brown water. Advertised as all inclusive COMPLETE LIE only beer and tequila. Food was the same everyday. Beach had piles of seaweed and stunk. Only think we were happy with was the cleaning service of the lady. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I tried to get a refund but the hotel refuse to give me a refund. If you want to stay here bc of the water park, the pictures are like 10 years older.

• alexander (2/5): - The worst experience of my life, beginning from the moment I arrived at the airport. All locals not only treat you without etiquette, and treat you without respect. Within the first day of my arrival, the tried to guilt-trip many tourists upon arrival. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, they tried to charge me 100 USD to upgrade my room, and when I declined, the tried to pressure me even more by lowering the amount which I declined. When I finally entered the hotel room, It was stripped bare, did not have toothpaste or have any amenities. The food itself was horrible as well as the quality. The workers there did not treat me or my family and children with any respect. This hotel is the best hotel to never visit again. Over 90% of the Mexican people are liars and disrespectful people as they treat Americans horribly. By far the worst travel and hotel experience I have ever had in my life and Ive been in Mexico over 5 times during my life and it has never been so bad. This hotel doesn't even deserve a one-star rating. I will be sharing this review on all available platforms.

One downside was the resort’s practice of rinsing and reusing single-use drink cups, which felt unhygienic. The food options were typical of a budget all-inclusive — fairly generic and uninspired. If you consider yourself a foodie, you’ll likely end up wanting to dine elsewhere, and unfortunately, the resort’s location makes eating out quite inconvenient. Overall, if you're seeking a true all-inclusive experience, I would recommend investing in a resort at least double the price. On the other hand, if your goal is to explore, stay active, and sample local cuisine, it would be better to skip the all-inclusive model altogether and book a regular hotel instead.

• Alicia (6/5): - Stayed here for one week with my 2 children 10 and 8 and had a great time. I’m from UK. It was advertised as a 4-star but is 3 star. It is a no thrills hotel with everything you need, toiletries, towels, bottles of water, pool located to games room, next to pool bar for parents, which is all by the beach, which is great to keep an eye on your kids at all times. The water park is rusty not dirty and a lot of fun and separate so can have a change of scenery. Again this is located next to pool loungers and bar and football pitch, basketball court. Staff were really friendly and helpful, it wasn’t too crowded, and well located for trips to chichen itza, Cenotes and Isla mujeres . As it is very affordable, we were able to leave the hotel for a night and stay in Tulum for the ruins and Xel-Ha (brilliant btw). Food was ok. I’m not a fan of the big AI resorts liked that most guests were Mexican.

Walking distance to smaller Mayan ruins is approximately a 10 min walk and 50 pesos per person to enter the location. The resort had live entertainment and they also did lots for the kids on a daily basis. Lots of activities for the kids. I would recommend this resort for family’s who want to be away from the party see.
