Guest Reviews
- millomite (4/5): Noise, no hot water or electricity, no bar, no mini bar, no 24 hour reception - This hotel was selected for a number of reasons. Firstly its location then facilities and finally price.
It is situated on the west side of the Tiber, close to the Vatican, but also a short distance from a bridge across the river. You can easily walk into the main centre and find tourist attractions like the Piazza Navona, Pantheon and Trevi fountain.
If you want to get to, for example, the Colosseum or Forum then the Metro is close by and taxis are not too expensive if there are four in your group (like us). I’d suggest using the Freeform app to book one not Uber.
In the immediate area there are plenty of cafes, restaurants (not too touristy) and little bars. The shops are many and varied if that’s what you want.
Now the interesting part, the hotel. It is not very big and has a 24 hour reception although the one time we needed to contact reception from our room outside of normal hours they never answered the phone! When I went down to see what was the problem the receptionist was sat reading her phone. I asked her if the phone was working and she looked sheepish and checked it. It was apparently! Forget room service because they obviously don’t have any. You can’t even get a bottle of water from them.
It is advertised as having a bar and also mini bars in the rooms. It has neither. The bar is an empty space in a room near reception and the rooms only have a tiny fridge.
Other issues we and people in our group experienced included:
Room keys continually failing to open the door. This was so bad we asked them to reprogram it every time we walked in to avoid having to come downstairs.
No hot water for showers on so many occasions that I got the manager to move us to another room. Listening in on conversations I conclude this is a widespread problem.
The final straw was when they said the electricity would be switched off from 10pm to 6am! No heating, lighting or lifts. When I said this wasn’t safe in the event of fire (did the fire alarm system work? They said “we think so” lol). We came back early to avoid this potential disaster and get up the five floors in the lift only to discover the power went off 1:30am them came in at 4:30am then off again and only came on properly at 5:30am. We were woken up by this so got a very bad sleep. This was quite literally a disaster waiting to happen and should be reported to the authorities.
A number of other annoyances need to be considered before you book. The hotel is close to a busy road with cars 24 hours a day and also suffers from very noisy people going home from the bars in the area. Even on the fourth floor (the room we were moved to) it kept us awake most of the night. We bought ear plugs in the end!
The hotel also has large groups of schoolchildren using it with the inevitable noise at night.
The rooms themselves are very dated and lacking in furniture. The curtains were hanging off the rails and the metal blinds could not be raised or lowered. The room was reasonably clean but the bathroom had mould in the corners near the shower and stains in the toilet bowl.
One good point is the breakfast but I’m afraid I will avoid this hotel like the plague for the above reasons.
Continually being told by the staff “it isn’t our problem it’s out of our control” isn’t good enough.
- T528LXsarab (8/5): A good trip - Great location. Enjoyed being on this side of Rome. Lovely in the evening. Good restaurants and bars nearby - great atmosphere.
The hotel is fairly basic but clean. The staff at reception were very polite, cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. There was nothing to complain about. It did the job.
- 626andreaw (6/5): Not a 4 star hotel. Disappointing. - No way is this a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 if I'm being generous! The rooms are basic. Our room had the curtains half hanging off the rail. Room was clean enough and the towels changed daily. The beds were hard and the pillows , of which we only got 1 each ,weren't much better. The bar that is advertised on the booking sites , wasn't open at all during our entire stay. No irons available at the hotel. Rooms are very noisy with street traffic until around midnight.
On the plus side it was a nice location. 5 minutes walk to the Vatican. 5 minutes walk to the metro system, which puts you within easy access anywhere in the city. Lots of nice restaurants and a couple of nice bars nearby.
- J2053AOamyl (6/5): Some good points....some bad points - Let's start with the good - good location and friendly knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately that's all I can say about the good.
Bad points - tired, dated, noisy hotel (absolutely no sound proofing) with a basic continental breakfast.
We had a standard double which was very small and consisted of what I can only describe as camp beds with very hard thin mattresses. The bathroom was small and had an odd smell. There are no toiletries or coffee making facilities. On our first night we had a group of school children screaming, running, banging on doors in our corridor. Eventually by 2am we couldn't take anymore and told them to be quiet and go back to their rooms. We went down to reception to complain....of course no-one was there, however the teachers responsible for these children were having a lovely time down there, even though they could quite clearly hear the children running wild. They very quickly went to sort them out! The next morning we complained to the staff and they immediately changed our room and gave us a bottle of wine as an apology. Our next room was much better but once again basic and the smell from the bathroom was worse than the room before. The hotel building is a lovely old building which is slowly being modernised, however the decoration does look a bit shabby in places. If and when done properly I'm sure this hotel would be stunning. Whilst we appreciate this hotel is in a good location in a world famous capital city the room rate they charge, for the standard they provide, is pretty extortionate.
Breakfast was once again basic, coffee and juices weak....but croissants fresh and tasty.
We're not ones to normally complain but on this occasion we felt we needed to say something and thankfully the helpful staff did sort out our problem. They now just need to enhance their service, standards and facilities to reflect the price they charge and it would be a lovely hotel.
- 654januszb (10/5): Great very friendly staff. Great food. Absolutely 5 star - Great location 5 mins from Vatican. Close to centre of Rome 2 minutes to bus and underground. Lots of shops around and great restaurants.
- 986DMFL (2/5): Extremely disappointing stay - I shared a twin room at the Grand Olympic Hotel in Rome in November 2025 for one night and was extremely disappointed with my experience. This property is advertised as a four-star hotel, but the room assigned (Room 56, ground floor) didn’t meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness or maintenance.
There was a heavy grill on the outside of the window which was immoveable and could not be adjusted. There were no window coverings at all on the inside of the window and we had to rely on this grill for any and all privacy. By morning we found out the metal grill restricted 95% of all natural daylight in the room with a terrible view through the slats of a storage/rubbish area outside. On realising the grill was fixed I did wonder what would happen in the event of a fire as the grill operated as a permanent obstruction which is very unusual to find on the ground floor of any hotel as it creates a potential entrapment space in the room if a fire occurred. On searching I found absolutely no guest evacuation instructions in the room at all which I would suggest is a compliance issue under health and safety regulations. On the inside of the room entrance door was a no smoking sign poorly fixed to the door but nothing else [see pictures]. On the inside of the bathroom door was a generic technicians service label for fire equipment that was incomplete and not something that should be guest facing as it offered no useful information in the event of a fire for guests. It referenced door 106 which I assume is the nearest fire door but not on our level.
The room itself was filthy and needed a deep clean. The air-conditioning unit was leaking, leaving water stains all down the wall with mold present and a smell of damp which was accompanied by the smell of the drain in the shower. This issue had clearly been there a considerable amount of time without being addressed. There was accumulated dirt along the skirting, hair and dirt on the floor belonging to previous occupants. The walls were full of scuff marks. The spotlights on the ceiling were carelessly overpainted. Overall, the room felt neglected, dirty and badly maintained.
The second bed had no headboard and was made up with only a sheet and a light cover [about the same thickness as the sheet]. There was no duvet or warm covering at all and nothing available in the room. Meanwhile, the first bed did have a light duvet, making the inconsistency even more noticeable.
The bathroom was no better: the main drench shower head was scaled over and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and the shower gel dispenser was empty, not even an empty soap cartridge.
The clothes wardrobe was damaged to the point where it blocked the fridge, making it impossible to open the fridge door. There was no security safe, no in room tea or coffee facilities or any extra pillows, blankets or coverings. The TV remote had masking tape wrapped around it to hold the batteries in because the back cover was missing.
Dust was thick on surfaces; one swipe of my finger across the bedside locker left a clear line and covered my fingers in dust and dirt.
When I contacted reception, I was passed to an English-speaking off duty staff member by phone. I asked to move rooms but was told the hotel was fully booked. I then asked for housekeeping to attend to the room but was informed that nothing could be done until morning as there was only the receptionist on duty and the room had been cleaned and the team were good at their job so there was no problem. I offered to clean the room myself if they would provide supplies rather than stay there as it was, but this was refused.
When the receptionist visited the room, I asked about the missing duvet and was told to “turn on the heater,” despite the unit obviously leaking and surrounded by mold. Eventually, the receptionist fetched a duvet from another room, but even that had visible stains to match the stains on the bed coverings. Whilst refusing to help with the most basic of things we were then asked to contact reception if there was anything we needed!
The next morning, the sink and shower had no hot water at all. Everything ran cold. Not even a hot water kettle in the room so we had to make do with cold water. No apologies from the hotel staff, not even a recognition there was a problem with the room.
The only positive was the location. Otherwise, the cleanliness, room condition, and complete lack of staff support made this stay unacceptable. I have no issue with basic accommodation, but I expect it to be clean, safe, and functional. This room was none of those things, and it certainly did not reflect the standards of a four-star hotel which we paid for. I would not recommend this hotel in any way and that is unfortunate as it’s a great location. Had the hotel tried to make any efforts at all to rectify the situation I would not have made this post but they completely dismissed any problems with the room.
- MattoftheSpurs (10/5): A very good hotel with excellent staff and a great location. - My Wife and I stayed at the Grand Olympic from the 15th to the 18th of October 2025. The hotel was under going some renovations to the reception area during this time (to which we were informed that should be finished by the end of the month) but these renovations did not impact on our stay at all and will provide a beautiful uplift to the reception area plus a lovely looking new bar. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was accessed either by the stairs or a lift. The room itself, which contained a king size bed and a standard double bed was very good and very clean. There was a 32 inch curved television screen (which could only access Italian television which we did not mind at all because we were here to see Rome and not watch TV). The bathroom was excellent with toilet, sink, bidet and a very serviceable shower. Storage within the room was very good and plentiful for our three night/four day stay. The location is excellent with many fine restaurants and shops in the area and is serviced with a Metro station just a seven minute walk away. It is also very close to Vatican City, a seven minute walk away, which was perfect. What makes this hotel very special is the quality of it's staff. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. A special mention goes out to the chambermaid who made up our room every single day and went to the extra effort of folding my t-shirts and placing them on the bed for me. This was a wonderful touch that I very much appreciated. Breakfast, which was on the floor below reception, was also excellent with a very wide selection. Included were cereals, cold meats, four types of rolls, a toaster, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, yoghurt, fresh fruits plus three very good coffee machines. Overall this is a very good hotel and recommended for it's staff, quality of bedding and location.
- Jerome (10/5): - When I was there they were remodeling the lobby and the bar area and making upgrades to a lot of things, once the remodeling is finished it will be beautiful, the hotel is in walking distance to everything had such a nice stay & vacation 👍
- Luz Daniela (10/5): - Excelente servicio, se recomienda tener una rampa para subir las maletas de la calle al lobby
- Joyleen Maricar (10/5): - The room is nice for a solo traveller and they always clean the room. The staff are really nice and accomodating and you can leave your luggage in them before check in and check out for free. Just the internet in doesn't connect in my room.
- Matthew (8/5): - Good location, nice hotel but breakfast was a bit limit.
- SteveNorfolk (10/5): Good price. Great location! - I am glad we did not listen to bad reviews. We really loved the location. Many restaurant and shopping options. We received a recently remodeled room. Friendly and helpful desk. Very good price for a hotel in this location. The extra fee that others complained about was a 7.50 tax per person, per day.
- Mediatrix Paredes (10/5): - the room needs to be upgraded. there were old curtains that should removed. there were drafts in the window. but. otherwise it is clean and they replace the towels and beddings regularly
- Mary Theresa (8/5): - Breakfast was good.
- Samuel James (10/5): - Position was great for shopping and eating
- Michael (10/5): - Hotel is affordable, clean, close to everything including great breakfast
- William (8/5): - They are doing renovations in the main lobby right now, so bare with them.
They are located well in the area of Prati short walk to St.Peter's Bascilica and nice authentic Italian restaurants all around. You can take the red public bus #81 right around the corner to the coliseum 20 minutes away for $2.
- Hilarie (2/5): - We booked through Expedia. My son and husband stayed for two nights and the toilet leaked horribly after flushing. The entire bathroom was filled with water. There was no hot water and their key card did not work multiple times. The elevator was also broken. We requested a full refund and were denied. Overall, would not recommend.
- Paul Joseph (8/5): - Good options
- Dung (10/5): - Breakfast is awesome
We definitely will come back here again in the future
- mari_fR1708JP (10/5): Thank you - I stayed at the hotel from August 27th to September 1st. It was the best choice. I was with my daughters, returning to Italy after 12 years, and it was a perfect hotel. Well located, the staff were super attentive and welcoming. Clean and organized. I can only thank you and say that I have already recommended it to several people planning to come to Rome.
- Aiza (10/5): - Perfect place! Nearby to all the attractions
- Kimoanh (10/5): - Love hot breakfast with several choices
- Sachin (6/5): - The staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us good suggestions. The hotel rooms however requires refurbishment.
Additionally I had to pay tourist for my 9 year old daughter which I later found out that should not had been the case.
- Carol (10/5): - The staff is great. Very friendly and kind.
- Gloria (6/5): - Kind staff. Great location as a base for sightseeing and shopping.
- Ariel (10/5): - Great location. Easy to walk around. Good breakfast.
- Michael (2/5): - This hotel was affordable and close to the Vatican. However, it was going through a remodel. So making noise because of work I can understand. However, every time that a toilet was flushed above my room it woke me up. The room was to small even as a twin bed. As for breakfast the employees had their hands full. There was a group each morning that didn’t believe in sharing food.
- Susan Ann (8/5): - The location and facilities at the hotel were excellent for our two week stay.
- Silma Angelica (10/5): - Muy amables todos. Nos gusto mucho nuestra estadia.
- Michael (10/5): - Staff all friendly and helpful..room clean.nice modern bathroom..room comfortable with all what isneeded without being 5 star..lift good..breakfast..lots of choice but no cooked food..not a problem to me.. ery convenient for vatican ..short walk to castell sant angelo to get hop on bus
- Lynette B (8/5): - Good location and access to some key landmarks in the city. Very welcoming staff, clean rooms, and breakfast was fair.
- ROBERT (10/5): - Clean comfortable v friendly staff
- Jesus (10/5): - Perfect place to stay in Rome
- katarzyna (8/5): - The hotel is in a very good location. A 5 min walk from Vatican city and not far from bus stops. The hotel is very basic. The members of staff are so nice and helpful.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Great location to the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basillica. Also good restaurants, shopping and walking distance to key sites. The staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly and spoke English.
- Muriel (10/5): - The hotel is perfectly situated for the Vatican and St Peters Basilica, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast is catered to suit everyone
- Kim (10/5): - Staff was amazing and incredibly helpful! Shower was a bit on the small size. Bed and pilliws much firmer than I am used to. Wonderful experience, would definitely stay there again if ever in Rome.
- Yan (10/5): - Newer Hotel. Cool AC! Friendly front desk staff.
- Venancia (8/5): Grand Hotel Olympic Rome Italy - It's okay for me, staff are friendly, breakfast is nice like it, room is big for 3 of us. The only complain I have is the shower and the flashing the toilet - you need to leave your hand to the flash botton, till the it completely flashed, otherwise toilet paper will stay in the bowl.. It has a big bathroom but water goes outside when water pressure is strong-, the way they install their shower is not good. They only have body wash and tiny hand soap, no shampoo or conditioner. So bring your own. That's all otherwise everything else is okay. We stayed 3 days . Good locations too- walking distance to the cathedral St Peter, etc. Sorry we did not take any pictures inside the hotel .
- Roberto (6/5): - What I like. The location
What I don’t like no WiFi internet service
And poorly cleaned rooms
- Felipe (4/5): - Needs update
- Joseph (10/5): - The staff was great. Excellent value for the momey
- donovan (8/5): Great location! - The location is excellent! The staff is amazing and very friendly. The rooms had little quirky issues, toilette seat was loose, bathroom door was very hard to open and shut. The breakfast was so so, overall though We did enjoy our stay and I think it was well worth it.
- Eric (8/5): Great little hotel- excellent location - The hotel is nice, and it has a great location. The managers are always ready and willing to help with whatever you need. Breakfast is a continental type, so nothing unexpected. The rooms have what one needs, and the A/C works great. The elevator is small, so we had lots of exercise going up and down the stairs.:-)
- Raquel (10/5): - Very good, very helpful and friendly staff
- David (10/5): - Hotel was nice, staff were helpful, very friendly, room was nice, comfy bed, toilet, shower, tv, good aircon throughout hotel, and a free breakfast I didn't know about, area is quiet with a lot of shops and restaurants, a lot of locals are about as hotels are now apartments
- Nario (10/5): - Within distance of spots to see in the city, quiet clean , friendly receptionist, breakfast staff
recommendable accommodation!
- VICTHEA MARIE (10/5): - The Reception lady is exceptional. She is very helpful, caring and accommodating. I will definitely recommend your hotel. Breakfast food are excellent.
- Isabel (10/5): - Every thing it’s ok except the shower is to small is dificult to get a shower that is
- Maura (10/5): - Everything in walking distance
- Christy Joy (10/5): - The hotel has great staff, clean rooms, good breakfast.
- Diana (10/5): - Nice stay
- Cheryl (8/5): - The staff were very helpful with our every requests and friendly towards everyone. The location is very ideal for walking and getting rides is easy , as well. I just would like to suggest to have at least one microwave we could use in the hotel and at least some scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Otherwise, I would highly likely book in this hotel again.
- catherinesP6289JK (10/5): Love the Hotel Grand Olympic! - Wonderful! Absolutely 5 star, especially for its security as an older, solo female traveler - room was even changed to afford a better sense of security. Room was comfortable, great air conditioning! Great breakfast! Convenient to bus and Metro stops, and close to the Vatican.
A special thanks to Marta, Luna, and, especially, Monica, for their help in all, from directions to calm, supportive assistance in retrieving a lost document.
Will be returning! Love the Hotel Grand Olympic!
- Kimberly (10/5): Great location close to the Vatican - Great location close to the Vatican. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Marta. Decent breakfast. Building and lobby are a bit dated, however, the rooms are spacious modern and clean.
- John Clark (10/5): - It is close to the Vatican City. Far from everything else but there is a nearby metro like a 5-10 mins walk
- Lien (8/5): - Nice and helpful staffs
- Milena Muller (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Rogie (10/5): - Stayed in the hotel for 3 days...the rooms were renovated, (been here before) the dining area too. Location is excellent, walking distance to St Peter Square, Sistine Chapel, Metro to Termini...
Staff area great...helped us with the directions ...Martha and Monica are Wonderful!!!
Will be back for the third tine sometimes soon...
Oh...breakfast is soo nice...various croissant to choose from....lol
- Javier (10/5): - Helpful staff
- DanielaS7124 (8/5): Good place for a base - A little renovation of furniture will make a difference. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is continental. We visited in August, vacation time of the year for Europeans, so it was quiet, no traffic. Great location! Location! Location! Walkable distance from the main attractions. Tons of restaurants and shopping nearby.
- Pramod (8/5): - Nice and clean but noise from outside. Good breakfast.
- Selena (10/5): Great place ! - Excellent hotel location. The bathrooms are huge and modern for Italian standards. The breakfast has many options and was good. We were 5 in our group and got 2 rooms and were very comfortable.
Best of all, the front desk were always so cheery, helpful and made our stay so great. Will definitely stay here again! Love this place!
- Raffaella (10/5): - The hotel and the room are clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast great! I loved the central location, literally 5 minutes walk from St. Peter Basilica.
- SteveRichie73 (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel in a great position. Marta on reception was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, giving us some great suggestions to make the most of our 3 days. Highly recommended.
- Steven (10/5): - Great hotel in a great position. Marta on reception was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, giving us some great suggestions to make the most of our 3 days. Highly recommended.
- Joyce (10/5): - The front desk girl was so helpful when my son got sick. The night person helped us get a taxi to take us to the hospital emergency room. Don’t ever go to ospedale di santo espiritu. Worst experience ever.
Hotel breakfast was amazing with lots of varied options.
- David (10/5): - Muy buena presentación y servicio
- JENNIFER (8/5): - The location is perfect, 10 min from train station, Ottaviano, 6-8 min from St Peters Basilica and St Angelo’s and lots of food choices to eat.Bus stop 81 is also 3-5 min walk. The reception are friendly, the room is roomy( family of 4) and the aircon is fab. The breakfast buffet is ok but the same daily and theres no hot breakfast which is normal in Europe I think. We stayed for 5 nights and the only downside is you pay additional for the tax when you arrive which costs us another 115 euro. We found Jollibee which is good for chickenjoy only 6-8 min walk from the hotel. We booked a return journey through SIT bus to and from Fuimicino airport which is around £6 and is about 15 min walk from the hotel. The area was safe and we even stayed during Young Adults Jubillee week.
- Shugri (10/5): - We had a great stay, thanks to the wonderful customer service and warm hospitality, especially from Monica, our host, she was truly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit.
The hotel itself is a bit dated, but we chose it for the excellent location, and it definitely delivered. It’s in one of the best areas for tourists, with easy access to major sites and public transportation.
The breakfast, included in the stay, was simple but satisfying, and available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, which was very convenient for our schedule.
Overall, a pleasant stay, if the hotel updates some of the interiors, it would be even better!
- John (6/5): - Very convenient access to Vatican and central Rome
- ALEXANDRE (6/5): - The building is old but well maintained. The staff is friendly.
- Brian (10/5): - The biggest strength of this property were the Reception staff - Monica and Marta - who were both always helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. The hotel is excellently located for the Vatican City and St. Peter's and within 500 metres of Ottiviano Metro Station. The area around the hotel is relatively quiet and within 200 metres of good bars/ restaurants.
The hotel itself is clean and well kept although the facilities in my room lacked being able to make a drink for yourself or somewhere to sit.
I would stay at the Grand Olympic again - its strengths far outweigh a few minor improvements.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and Welcome if Rough Around the Edges - Nice room for a solo visitor, a bed big enough for two although the mattress was rock hard. Only one usable plug socket which was crumbling off the wall. The shower only ever warmed up to lukewarm at best, but the bathroom was lovely. Great air conditioning unit and plenty of space, very conveniently located right near the Vatican.
One downside is that there was construction work being done right beneath me. I’m sure no one else would have noticed but I’d taken ill whilst there and needed to come back to nap in the afternoon and couldn’t do so due to the construction noise. A little warning about this would have been appreciated.
The staff, however, were lovely, especially Marta who checked me in and gave a wonderful explanation of the city. I’d stay here again.
- Ruben (2/5): - It is the worsts place I have ever visited mold everywhere, the bathroom is extremely filthy ,a horrible stench ,too dirty. I don’t know how they offer a place like this, they turn off the hot water at night, and the conditions are precarious. My children were scared. The only reason I give one star is that there is no option for zero .. I have always trusted you it’s a shame that you are offering places like this. I have proof, I know everything I’m saying…. Anymore
- Alina (6/5): - The window was blocked and shades closed - unable to open. Conditioner was leaking condensation on a last night - this I reported to staff. Too cold in a room at times, hard to control with remote.
Water temp in a shower was not always of proper temp for late evening or early mornings.
Cleaning staff entered room while I was in a room.
For breakfast - coffee machine in a first room was not giving coffee according to choice.
Transport access - great, bed is comfortable.
- Jose (8/5): - Good location
- Julie (6/5): - Great location, and great breakfast.
- Elizar (10/5): - accessible
- Solomon (4/5): - The room smelled sewage the entire stay . The bathroom has no exhaust. Other wise the stay wasn’t bad.
- Sara (2/5): - We stayed for three nights, but the air conditioning was inconsistent—either too cold or not functioning at all. The hotel itself is quite old and not very clean. Additionally, it is not accessible for individuals with disabilities, as the disability lift was out of order.
- Miras (8/5): - Beds are really comfortable Food is irritable!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Clean and good location
- KARIM (4/5): - Very old and outdated . Rooms didn’t have hot water & smells . Morning breakfast very limited . The location of the hotel is convenient but that’s about it.
- KARIM (2/5): - Convenience location but very outdated and the room smells and no hot water . See attached photos. The shower didn’t even door
- david (10/5): - Clean room staffs are helpful
Close to Vatican City
Walking distance to lots of places
- chad (2/5): Avoid - No hot water. When asked, they said wait 45 min. When still no hot water, they said they didn’t know what else to do. It will take time.
Faucet not bolted down. Toilet not bolted down. Tiles missing exposing electrical and plumbing fixtures.
- david (10/5): - 15 minutes walk to Vatican City
Staff are very helpful
- Yevgeniy (4/5): - Disappointing Stay – Definitely Not a 4-Star Experience
The hotel experience wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely poor. The quality for the buck was simply not where it should be. I will give it to you at the most — this may pass as a very basic place to sleep, but it is absolutely not a four-star hotel, no matter what the advertisements claim.
The room was dirty. The shower was tiny — so cramped you could barely turn around. The showerhead was fixed high up and couldn’t be detached, making it nearly impossible to rinse off properly. The sheets were clean but extremely worn and tired-looking. When we arrived, all the exterior shutters were tightly closed, making the room feel like a jail cell. We had to ask someone from staff to open them because the shutters are outside and difficult to access on your own.
The worst part was the smell — it was awful. No one could figure out if it was from the plumbing or something else in the room, and unfortunately, the staff couldn’t move us to another room.
Breakfast was mediocre at best — maybe it’s acceptable for their hotel standard, but not by any stretch for a four-star level. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations and did not match the price point. Would not recommend unless you’re just looking for the bare minimum.
- Darrell (6/5): - Very small bathroom. No hot water in 4 days. Very noisy rooms, pipes in the walls. The staff was very friendly and sweet.
- MIGUEL (10/5): - Really good service, is clean and is always someone at front desk to help you if you need something
- arnel (10/5): - Convenient location , just outside vatican and near to public transportation…
Daily breakfast included..
Family oriented..
- Raid (10/5): - We love the stuff are friendly
- Minnie (8/5): - Area is quiet. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the area. Hotel staff are helpful.
- Chocrocks (10/5): Great base to explore Rome - Lovely small hotel with welcoming and friendly staff.
Room spacious and clean.
Great location to explore Rome from and very close to Vatican area.
Great price and perfect for a city break
- Ariel (10/5): - It was within walking distance of a lot of things
- Julie (2/5): - I recently stayed at your hotel in Rome from July 11 to July 18, and I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a number of significant issues that severely impacted our comfort and overall enjoyment.
There was no hot water available for the entire week due to a broken boiler, making basic hygiene extremely difficult. I complained several times and each time I was told the same thing and that it was being worked on. The toilet seat in our room was broken and remained unfixed during our stay.
Every time we attempted to use a hair dryer, the power would go out—clearly indicating a serious electrical problem.
There was a large pile of garbage just outside our room that emitted a foul odor and remained there for several days.
We raised these concerns during our stay and requested a refund and cancellation so that we could move to a new hotel. However, the manager on-site refused to process our request, leaving us with no choice but to endure the unacceptable conditions. The only thing I was offered was a cheap bottle of wine and my tourist taxes returned in the amount of $105.00. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The lack of basic amenities, combined with the unresponsiveness of the staff, was both frustrating and disappointing.
Given the circumstances, I am requesting a partial refund to reflect the substandard conditions we endured.
- Justin (10/5): - Older building but updated rooms. Conveniently located about four blocks from a metro station.
