- Charles (10/5): - Very clean room with new bathroom and beautiful view to canal behind St Marks Square.
- Peter (6/5): - Very central to St Marks Square etc and close to water taxi stations. Reception area, Bar & Breakfast good. We booked a standard classic room with canal view (Room 1159). Not really 4 star accommodation. The room was small with basic furnishings and lack of storage space. The mattresses overhung the the base of the old bed and the pillows were poor quality. The TV was partially hidden by the curtains either side. The bathroom was ok but the shower cubicle was very small.

We had just flown in from the States after nearly 24 hours with no sleep and arrived absolutely exhausted and drenched from a torrential downpour. When I asked about the possibility of an early check-in, the bellman immediately noticed our situation and kindly took it upon himself to double-check the available rooms. Thankfully, one was ready, and we were able to get some much-needed rest. The customer service was truly exceptional. On top of that, the room was surprisingly spacious for Italy, offered a beautiful view, and was perfectly located near everything we wanted to see. Highly recommend!

The hotel bar served up delicious cocktails and the staff was extremely warm and friendly. I would stay here again!

- Domagoj (6/5): - It felt like it was a bait and switch. We were not in the main building but in another building across the street which was not part of the hotel. We had LOUD construction on the Thursday afternoon in the units next to us which went on for several hours after we had checked in after a long flight. The construction continued to the Friday. When I raised it with the staff they did not offer to move us and just shrugged The wifi was down all day Friday and when I raised it with the staff they again shrugged and said they had to call their net work support team. It was not corrected until Saturday. One of the worst stay I have had in all of my trips to Europe over the last decade.

Lovely warm welcome from reception who were helpful throughout Breakfast was disappointing and area for food and drinks was small and crampt - literally one person with backpack on took up whole corner so you could get tea/coffee or cutlery Bedroom and bathroom was very small and felt a little claustrophobic Also didn’t like porter wiring around for tip for taking 1 case out of 3 in the lift with us. Overall looks good from outside and location good but the rest is underwhelming

However, the guy who helps all the guest with the luggage was very very nice and helpful. They are two mins walking to Plaza San Marco and to take water bus or privet bus to the airport, train station or the islands. Would stay there again.

The little terraces outside in the dining area are beautiful to sit at as well as the velvet booths where we enjoyed a great breakfast. Definitely a second toaster is needed in the breakfast room and the shower over bath with a shower curtain was a turn off. When paying almost 400 euros a night I expect a decent shower space. There was also no room to move in the shower and the shower head was weirdly placed which made it even tighter. That needs to be updated asap. Great location not sure if I would stay again as it’s very pricey so probably expected more. Our room was right next door to a cleaners closet and they were noisy talking amongst themselves outside our door. Didn’t appreciate it at all.

The only downsides; the canal rooms are very noisy in the morning as the gondolas are being prepared for the day ahead and the shower situation needs updating. The sheer head comes out from the side wall leaving little space to manger (all sowers over baths should be removed). Despite the two flaws, our stay was great and I would highly recommend the hotel - we will be back!

- DALLAS (8/5): - The bad: The shower in our room was insanely small. If you are a big guy, it may be a problem. Water was good but I had to be careful not to turn off the water with my chest. Also storage is a problem. There is one cabinet for hanging clothes and that’s it. Yes, this is a new norm in many swanky hotels. But I hate working out of a suitcase the entire time. The good: Amazing location !!!! We had a canal view room and could open our windows and experience a constant visual and audio theater of the gondoliers, as this is like a hub for them where they keep the boats overnight next to the Hard Rock Cafe. You can be in st marks square in less than a minute; it’s that close. Realto bridge is only a 5 minute walk, and you will find dozens of restaurants in short walking distances, and dare I mention even a Chinese restaurant a minute away. On our last trip to Venice we stayed at a highly rated hotel with amazing amenities including a rooftop pool, but it was a huge hassle to have to take water taxis for every activity. This was a much better experience being able to go anywhere we pleased without having to sit and wait for boats to shuttle us back and forth. The hotel is easily reached by water taxi as they have their own water entrance so arriving and departing are simplified. I arranged shuttle service from a ship arriving in Trieste which involves a long drive and a water taxi, but relatively easy to accommodate, albeit a bit pricey.
- Jennifer Lynne (10/5): - This was a beautiful hotel and located on the canal. Great views of the gondolas. The bar and outside seating area was very nice and had a great view on the water. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. It was in a good location and very walkable to a lot of shops and restaurants. The bathtub/shower was somewhat narrow and small and didn’t have good water pressure. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

It has a professional and helpful staff, A good breakfast was offered, and accommodated with gluten free prepackaged options for those with restrictions. The hotel was steps away from St Mark’s square. A water taxi at its canal side is an option that conveniently transports you to the airport for $16l0 euro. The canal view hotel room option looks down on the gondolas below. The location was definitely ideal. I would definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it to others.

- Erik (10/5): - The location of the hotel is excellent, literally a 1 minute walk out the front door from St. Mark's Square, while also nicely positioned to walk most anywhere on Venice. The staff were very competent and helpful and the breakfasts were especially good. When we checked in, we were escorted out the main door of the hotel to a 2nd location for the hotel (located 2 meters/yards from the door of the main hotel), and the room they presented to us was fine, yet smaller than we expected. It is common for older hotels in Europe to have smaller rooms, our room was OK, yet only a few feet of extra space around 2 of the sides of the bed, a bit more around the 3rd side. This was something less than I had anticipated based on the website, which led me to return to the front desk and have a polite, respectful conversation with the gentleman who checked us in. While they did not have any other rooms to move us to that day, they said they could move us to a larger room - and possibly one with a view - for the following 2 nights of our stay for a slight additional charge. We felt that was reasonable, they moved us to a wonderful room the next day with an awesome view of the canal area below, and were very pleased to pay the slight additional amount for each of the next 2 nights. My point in sharing this is to confirm it is a very nice hotel to stay in and there are 2 slightly different classes of rooms to choose from. FYI, we willdefinitely stay there again the next time we vist Venice.

This is an older hotel so dont expect modern furniture and fixtures but the AC works (a little too well, we had to turn it up a few times lol) and thats all that mattered to me. Beds are firm but i didnt mind it. Breakfast was ok but it was complimentary, you do have to "check in" with the waitstaff and tell them the room number. I would definitely stay here again

- Kelly (10/5): Splendid oasis - We stayed here for the views and general location and both were absolutely splendid. We arrived in the middle of the day (around 90°F / 32–33°C), and as soon as we stepped inside, we felt instantly relieved. The front desk (really friendly and professional) also helped us book a water taxi that comes straight to the door; super convenient and so much better than the water bus. Breakfast was also great! The ladies checking room numbers and managing the floor are just lovely and so kind. Lastly, for the location. 10/10. You can see the basilica, go eat lunch, come back and freshen up, then walk over to the doge’s palace (because it’s almost a stone’s throw away). We highly recommend this hotel and will only book here in the future. Cheers!

- Sian (6/5): - The location is excellent and the refurbished parts are very good - however, the hotel was listed as completely refurbished- it is not. The bathroom we had was awful, many cracks through the sink, the bath had been coated with something that was all peeling off, so it would be impossible for it to be clean, generally not fit for use. The porter that took our cases in, was unfriendly & gave us the incorrect door code, so we couldn’t get in! We were moved when I told reception staff about our issue, but to a smaller room ( not what we booked). The shower in the new bathroom didn’t work at all the first morning. The kettle we were given (after asking for one) arrived with no tea/coffee etc & didn’t work. Although advertised as having WIFI- there wasn’t any anywhere in the hotel, so we incurred unexpected roaming costs. On checkout day, we paid our bill & were asked to get our cases from the 4th floor- there is only 1 lift, servicing all of the rooms & it is painfully slow to arrive! We rode to the 4th floor, got to our room & couldn’t get in, we went back to reception - to the same unhelpful man, who informed us it’s because it’s after 11- (11.05!) even though he told us to go & get our bags!!! This was our 6th trip to Venice, we love it there- but sadly this hotel didn’t live up to the other hotels we have previously stayed in.

- Sydney (10/5): - This hotel is in a fantastic location in Venice. Our room had a large and comfortable king sized bed and overlooked a canal with gondolas coming and going! The bathroom was large and all amenities were very clean. It’s located right next to St Mark’s square, a fantastic tourist attraction, where you can find museums and shopping. It’s also located super close to great food and drinks. I will say, don’t expect strong air conditioning (temperatures are high in the summer months), as the entire building stays at a unified temperature. Staff was helpful by providing a fan, but don’t expect to be able to adjust your room temperature. This is pretty common across many hotels in the area, so I would do your research if it’s important to you or go with an air bnb to be sure.
- Sekai (8/5): - The hotel is old and dated. It was clean. Great location and nice view of the canal. The rooms are tiny and plugs are not at the bedside. The carpets smelt damp all the time. Good breakfast but no vegan options.
- Grace (8/5): - It was exactly where we wanted to be behind the Doges Palace on the canal. We wanted true Italian elegance and while this hotel reached for it I feel it didn't quite hit the mark as the room was a bit faceless and not the Renaissance wonder we had hoped for
- Daniela (8/5): - The hotel is situated in a great location , walking distance to the main attractions and the view from the breakfast area and the little balconies , amazing adding to the hotel . Staff were really nice and polite, we felt really welcome.

- Gilma (10/5): - We had a nice stay at this property. It is in a great central location just a few steps from Piazza San Marco. The double room with canal view was very spacious and clean. They provided complimentary water and a few toiletries. There was also a minibar available in the room stocked with additional waters, juice and beer. Breakfast was simple but convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

- Madeline (10/5): - This was our first stay in Venice and our view from our windows was amazing. Location is great, especially if your excursions are close to St. Mark's Square as it's a quick 2-minute walk from the hotel. Staff is nice and accommodating. My only suggestion is that if you ask the staff for a food recommendation and they walk you down to a place called Ristorante San Gallo, don't eat there. I had sand in each of my clams, and my husband was picking out multiple bones from his salmon gnocchi. I'm sure that they have other great dishes, but if you want seafood, I recommend you go somewhere else. Other than that, this place is amazing.

- Josephine (10/5): - First time to stay at the hotel. All is very good except the breakfast . It always has the same selections. I stayed for 6 days and every day is the same choices. The scramble egg always prepared too buttery ! The staff are all nice and room is well kept clean. Location is very convenient to all point of interest.
- Eudelio (10/5): - This property is just steps away from Piazza San Marco. It is well kept and has a great breakfast to get you started in the morning. The rooms were spacious and well kept.

- Yvonne (10/5): A room on the water next to the gondoliers. - Amazing location! We had a room overlooking the gondolas and it was wonderful! Comfortable and so great being able to open the windows to see the gondoliers.
- Bridget (6/5): Mixed Experience - The hotel location was great and the free breakfast had a lot of variety of hot and cold and was very good. The air conditioning in the room wasnt great, very few electrical outlets and none by the bed. The front desk staff was mixed some helpful and some not so much. The room cleanliness was fine.
