Guest Reviews
- EMMANUEL (8/5): - Clean room, kind people
- Joanne (8/5): - Small clean room but appropriate for our needs. Good continental breakfast. Close to the Metro. Plenty of cafés around. Very narrow and winding stairway, be cautious but it had a small elevator.
- Joan (6/5): - The receptionist on Monday night was not courteous
- Monica (8/5): - Good
- Nedjo (8/5): - Shops were nearby. The breakfast was fresh and fair.
- Karla (6/5): - The hotel is in excellent ubication, but the hotel can’t turn on the heater until a specific date, supposed is law. So if you aren’t from a cold country it’s not good. And they have just one iron for the hotel.
Workers are nice.
- Alma (10/5): - The staff was extremely helpful I will definitely be booking with them again
- Wai Yan (10/5): - I stayed at Hôtel Williams Opéra with my son and we had a lovely time. The staff were friendly & helpful and let us check in early, which we really appreciated after a long flight.
The location is fantastic—right across from a park where my son had a great time playing, and close to the metro/bus stops. The room wasn’t big, but it was clean, functional, and had everything we needed.
We also loved how many bakeries, restaurants, and supermarkets were nearby. It’s even walkable to some major attractions, which made exploring the city super convenient.
Overall, a great value for the price. I’d definitely stay here again with my little one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Tanjil (2/5): - No AC. Bedsheets are dirty and uncomfortable pillow
- Sherrie (6/5): - Ok...excellent breakfast, wifi good. Perfect location Galleries Lafayette, food, and pharmacy
- Mary (8/5): - Great value for money, basic but ok, for the price we got what we paid for. Kettle in room but no cups or coffee tea. Cheap, clean and cheerful, nice, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast basic, dont think we would book that again, very budget but we would definitely stay in hotel again. Great area for getting to places, few minutes from cadet metro station
- Shahzad (8/5): - Helping staff and very walkable.
- Stefano Francesco (10/5): Great place to stay - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fine for our short stay and the location ideal. We will definitely return next year!
- Charlene (6/5): - PROS- This hotel is situated in a safe neighborhood that is very close to the metro and walkable to almost everywhere that a tourist would want to visit. There are lots of food/ drink choices including grocery stores. The staff were friendly and approachable .The room was clean with good housekeeping. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
CONS- The hotel and room was very dated. The room had little room to move was likely last renovated in the 80's, maybe earlier. It had a "strip motel/ Howard Johnson vibe - for those that know the chain" We did assume that the room had little importance for our visit as we would be out the majority of the day/night but It would have been nice to have a place to sit or lounge privately prior to getting ready for dinner. There was no fridge/kettle etc. The shower was substandard as the door was blocked from opening by the toiletand the only way to enter the shower was to open the door to the room. The water pressure was poor.
The last con that was "park" which was a selling point from other reviews was actually a playground. If you are planning a vacation to get away from kids it is not a great spot. It was very loud everyday with screeching kids.
Summary- The hotel is adequate, clean, in a good location and friendly but if your vision of Paris is for romance or comfort, it is likely not a good fit.
- E (6/5): - The reception staff was very nice (apart from one), especially Anush (sp?). This place was outdated, had carpet stains, knicked baseboards, etc. but the worst part was the noise! Seemed like the garbage men worked around the clock. Was horrible.
- DANILO (8/5): - Good location
- Denise (6/5): - Location was great; close to Lafayette Galleries, Montmarte and Louvre. Slight improvements would make this an excellent hotel; air conditioning, shower install in tub and fresh fruit for breakfast.
- RONEL (2/5): - dirty
- Marina (8/5): - Great older, charming property! Room was standard and clean. Loved the window and balcony overlooking the park across the street. Minus one star for the bed, I found it very uncomfortable.
The location of the property was the best! Cafes, restaurants, bars, shopping, all walking distance! Would recommend overall
- Joanne (10/5): - Room 12 was my home for a week. I looked out onto the park and enjoyed the leafy view and the sounds of happy children playing in the afternoons. I loved opening the window in the morning too to take in the sounds of Paris waking up. Location is close to the arcades and laneways which are so interesting. My bathroom was relatively modern and hot water was fabulous!
- KEVIN (8/5): - Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Location is right next to Montholon Park. It is used all day up to about 10:00pm for basketball. The kids and arguments are loud. Every morning a street sweeper went by our windows 4 or 5 times! Our room's layout was odd. Toilet with sink separate but no hand-soap. Shower bath was okay although the shower fell off the wall. Biggest problem was no air-con. Not unusual in Paris but it makes sleeping almost impossible.
On the plus side, the hotel is only 200 metres in a straight walk from Cadet station. (Turn left for 25 metres before you get to the park) Cadet station is small, quiet, and it felt safe. It seemed to be manned during the week and two ticket stations are available that even I was able to operate (eventually).
In short, I liked the location, the staff but air-com, less noise and a better range of cereals for a continental breakfast would make a healthy difference.
- sianw769 (6/5): Good location but too hot to sleep well - There was no air conditioning in the room and a smelly drain in the bathroom. Bed was very small. The lift comes out mid floor so you need to lug cases either up or down stairs. Good location for Gare du nord and Opera/ galleries Lafayette and airport bus. Nice big windows overlooking gpark square with trees.
- christopher (10/5): - Very clean. And helpful staff
- Kathryn (8/5): Solid choice - Older building but maintained and clean. Nothing too special, but excellent location with nice view of a park from the balcony.
- O7160VTmartinb (8/5): Friendly staff, great location - Great location less than 10 minute walk to Gare du Nord & very close to Cadet Metro.
Hotel is an older building with character, not a soulless chain hotel. The narrow staircase, small lift & dated layout add to its charm.
The bedroom & bathroom were comfortable & clean.
The Reception, Night staff & cleaners were friendly & helpful.
Breakfast was included in the price & was a typical self service continental meal.
I stayed during the Olympics when hotel prices in Paris were at a premium so felt it was good value for money.
- Amanda (8/5): Good hotel for location and helpful staff - Hotel is well situated and staff friendly and helpful
Rooms clean and adequate
Stairs difficult to manage and lift stops between floors so you still need to use stairs to get to your room
- MARTIN (10/5): Ideal location for Eurostar - Excellent location a few minutes walk from Gare du Nord & Cadet Metro.
Plenty of bars, cafes & restaurants nearby.
Helpful & friendly Reception & cleaning staff.
Breakfast was great.
Room was clean
- Elsie I. (6/5): - No air condition, for some of us is a dealbreaker. Nearest Station Caduet 2-3 min walk. Good Service nice people. Creepy hallways. Small room
- Mohammed (6/5): - Assez proche des gares de train et de plusieurs commerces.
- Gheorghe Daniel (10/5): - Very nice location close to everything
- Alan (6/5): Basic but decent value - Good location, close to restaurants, bars and bakeries and metro stations.
Very old building but so is most of Paris.
Hotel is super basic but seemed clean. Relatively good value for 1 or 2 nights, wouldnt stay here any longer or in middle of summer as no AC
- Roman (10/5): - This is my preferred place to stay in Paris. Reasonably priced, excellent location, welcoming and helpful staff. Well designed rooms overlooking a little park.
- Jack (4/5): - Not well taken care of at all. Wish I could have refund
- Vincenzo (8/5): Clean, budget friendly and basic - Nice little hotel which is well located near Metro stations and a 10 minute walk to Gare Du Nord train station.
Very clean and nice modern and very clean bathroom.
The bedroom was very basic. No frills at all. But was clean.
Breakfast was also very basic, but the pastries and bread were fresh every day.
The safe didn’t work in the room and couldn’t be repaired until the Tuesday (day we left).
Overall it’s great if you want a budget place to stay and use as a base.
- Tristan (10/5): - It was a good place for a couple of nights, service changes are good price and pretty close to Montmartre. The bistro, bar beside the hotel is great for morning and late night eats.
- DONNA (8/5): - Accessible to transport option, plenty of places to shop. The Hotel is clean but a little tired looking. Needs a bit of a makeover. You are in a busy area so you may hear traffic but this does settle after certain hours. Located Infront of a park so the is a constant buzz of children and teenagers playing football.
The staff are polite and welcoming, however don't go out of the way to do basic things. They are meant to offer hot drinks at a charge, but when I asked at 7pm, one evening I was told the kitchen is closed. It was ok but I wouldn't stay here again.
- Tour12587512470 (4/5): Expensive for what you get. Rundown & old! - This was a nice hotel ….20 years ago. The area around the hotel is somewhat scheechy. Rooms were cold & damp. No very clean. The stairs are a killer! Your foot will barely fit on the step & there steep! When you come off the lift be very careful or you’ll tumble down. Breakfast was the same as 20 years ago. No very appealing. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The man at night/early morning was very rude. We actually checked out 2 days early & left!
- Ragini (10/5): - Yes
- Roman (10/5): - Cute and cozy hotel in a great location. Very welcoming stuff. Anoush at the Reception is such a wonderful lady. Rooms are small but cleaned throughly. It is an old building, so don’t expect something modern. But it’s very “parisian”. Will stay there again when we return.
- Geoffrey (6/5): small rooms - Great location but the rooms were tiny and smelt musty
- Esther (10/5): - Perfect location. Amazing food nearby and I walked to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, and more from the hotel.
- Adam (8/5): Good hotel - Nice hotel. My room overlooked the park. Great value for a room with a view in Paris. Walkable from Gare du Nord and close to public transport. Helpful, friendly staff. I would stay here again.
- Anna (10/5): - This place was just dandy. Nothing fancy, but absolutely no complaints. Right near the metro, and you can walk to Galleries Lafayettes and Le Grand Rex and other cinemas.
- fr (6/5): - On my first day l was not able to sleep strong smell from toil was coming into my room. Bad internet keeps falling and very slow. When l went to have breakfast on my first day the toilet smell in restaurant was to strong inclusive the staff was spraying around and l asked for two day’s breakfast refund. The restaurant very very small.
- Yvens (2/5): The Archaic Hotel - Terrible I only lasted one night he place is archaic, no elevator, no air conditioner. The elevator that they have stops betfloors it is useless because you still have to use the stairway to get to your room. The staff aren’t friendly at all wether or not you speak French, they are very unprofessional.
- Samer (6/5): - The hotel was old and the room was very small
- sophialX6504MC (4/5): Disgusting rooms - Gross old room that isn’t worth it’s price. The rooms are really small and dirty, you can see suspicious marks everywhere. The shower goes from hot to cold every other second and the toilet is covered in stains. The ceiling is weird and squishy and covered in yellow marks. The biggest issue is that the room doesn’t have any AC. They give you this tiny fan that doesn’t do anything so you’re roasting in a 80 degree room. We had to open a window to keep from overheating which lets in bugs. The room is right next to a park so people make noises late into the night and early in the morning. I guess the room is central but it’s still pretty far from all of the popular attractions. I would definitely never come back here as this room is hot and disgusting.
- michaelsW3537OL (2/5): Old, crusty hotel. - Rubbish hotel. Absolute Rubbish.
1. The hallway to our room was dark and dingy (the light for the hallway was only on once in our three-day stay).
2. The beds/blankets may have been used by Napolean's army...at least, that's how old they feel and look.
3. No air conditioning. If it's hot outside, plan on a full night of sweating.
4. The bathroom was a disaster. To take a shower, you have to take a 1 foot step up into a shower stall. The shower itself was about 24inches across by 24 inches wide. I'm 6'2 and I could not raise my arms to shampoo my hair without my arms and elbows hitting the shower doors.
5. If you're on the first floor, you can open your windows at night and have the one employee of the hotel sit outside and waft his cigarette smoke into your room.
6. Everything else in the room looks 30+ years old.
- Wayne (10/5): - Loved my two-week stay at the Hotel Williams Opera!!! Anna the concierge was incredibly helpful and pleasant, the hotel was close to the Metro, and was also easily walkable to most of the Paris points of interest. I felt like a Parisian staying here!!
- Chelsea (10/5): - We only stayed a night, it was great! The room was small and cozy and the bathroom looked recently updated. Great view of the park. Staff was accommodating and helpful, they had plenty of breakfast options.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Location - Fantastic location, close to parks, transportation, restaurants and attractions. Great community atmosphere, children playing in area very vibrant. Downside noise late into the night so bring earplugs.
Did not get a renovated room so it was a bit tired. Bed was ok, need to buy new sheets, small holes appearing in them. No coffee or tea in the room you have to go to breakfast room to buy some or down the street to Starbucks. No fridge or microwave just a basic room but the price was great.
- Andrew (8/5): - Walking distance to train and metro made it easy to get around
- Pam (8/5): Helpful staff - Lovely little hotel on a (relatively) quiet garden square. The staff were exceptionally helpful, making for a pleasant stay
- Ana (2/5): - Nothing
- Lorena (6/5): - Not what I was expecting. There were ants in the bathroom and the pillow cases were actually dirty or stained whatever the case they were not changed after I complained
- Richard (8/5): - It was a good staty. The room was a decent size and was quiet during the night (no disturabance). The shower was too small (for a large person such as myself).
- Sylvain (4/5): - Dead insects on the floor of the bathroom, dusts, leaking ceiling in the bathroom and high taxes. Good location but not worth the price.
- Meira (10/5): September stay - Our stay at Hôtel Williams Opéra was lovely! The location is very convenient and the room is always clean, the girl at the reception helped us a lot, like getting kitchen appliances or calling a taxi. Definitely coming back here. :)
- Jason (8/5): - Tiny room in an old building. But ok for the Price & the location especially if you just need it to sleep
- Blefourie (10/5): - It's quite an old hotel but the location is good. It's close to metro, the train station, lots of restaurants around. It's right next to a park so it can be loud at night when you're trying to sleep.
- Rod Anne (8/5): - It’s near the metro and a lot of food places around. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay here again. Merci!
- Eddy (8/5): - Close to the metro station
- Kenneth (8/5): - great staff.
- Debby (8/5): - We had a room at the top (6th floor) and enjoyed the view onto the park and listening to the children playing.
- Alan (4/5): - The room was too small and awkward shaped for 2 people , it would have worked for 1 night but not 7, it was really noisy all night with traffic and commuters , the wifi kept dropping out , the sockets were in difficult places ,the corridors were gloomy in need off repainting, it was overpriced ,I can’t think of anything good to say about this hotel .
- Martyn (8/5): . - Ideally located down the road from Gard du Nord station. Easy to find by garden Square.
No problems with our stay, Friendly staff on reception and on breakfast duty.
- Lucile (10/5): Mieux que ce que j’imaginais - Super petit hôtel pour petit budget, ce n’est pas du luxe mais tout est propre et le breakfast est ok je recommande sans hésiter.
- SteffenK116 (4/5): Very small, hot rooms, but very helpful staff - The receptionists were exceptionally helpful. However, the rooms are cramped, and rather warm (June 2022) with no air conditioning, but a fan that did not work all the time. We could easily hear the hair drier in the next room as well as the metro rumbling faintly in the background. For those who do not like moderate street noise, the lack of double glazing to diminish the sound might be an inconvenience. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The elevator stops between floors which is very inconvenient if you have large suitcases. The coffee machine at breakfast was not working well either.
- Timothy (8/5): - Small room but good value for Paris and friendly service
- don (8/5): - Woman at reception desk was wonderful in helping us with booking a show & helping us when we couldn't get tv to work properly The shower needs a proper door or shower curtain. Water sprays all over bathroom floor ,making it dangerous when exiting the shower. Ended up using towels to dry the floor. Also needs air conditioning for hot days. A ceiling would fan would be great to move air around.
- Darejani (8/5): - Convenient location
- said (8/5): - Good price and good location
- Stephanie (10/5): Loved our little "french" room! - We- a couple, stayed for 5 nights, and found the hotel and the room so charming and "french". We really loved our stay, and it was perfectly located in the city with walking distance to cute cafes and metro stations.. The hotel itself gave us a proper french experience. Recommend, and it's really well priced.
- Elina (8/5): - Very basic conditions, nothing to write home about but a central location
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location is fine, the metro station is very close to the hotel,
- LBtravelers (8/5): Decent hotel, very good location - Stayed here 8 nights from Christmas to New Years. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and English-speaking, and the hotel's location is a huge plus. We were there during the metro strike so we walked everywhere. From the hotel it is a easy 7-8 minute walk to the Opera house and then just another few minutes to the Louvre and the heart of Paris. It is less than two miles to either the Marais or Latin Quarter too, or to Sacre Cour to the north. Along the way there are many restaurants and convenience stores to grab a quick, inexpensive meal. The hotel itself is not grand, but for the price it was a fine option for myself, wife and teenager daughter to use a base for many fun days in this delightful city!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Definitely not a three star. - Towels were like rags. People smoking out front came into my window. Front desk staff out front talking late in the evening into early morning. Asked for electric tea pot and mugs and staff said it was not accessable but the next night it was provided. Shower head not mounted to wall. Few outlets and in convenient locations.
- HelleOverbye (2/5): Very dirty - There are grey layers of dust on the carpets, both in the room and outside, in the hall. OK bed, clean sheets, but covers synthetic, unsheeted, and not very tempting to use. Sad and dark breakfast room and breakfast in the cellar. OK location, cheap.
- Verified traveler (10/5): As Expected - It was as you would expect for a 3 star hotel.
- Lola (8/5): - good location and neighbourhood
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing to like about this hotel. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, close to many local attractions. stay was great, came in early thinking we had to leave bags before checking in but they were so friendly and let us come in early.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location to many attractions, freindly staff, cleanliness and view
- Jeppes550 (6/5): Decent but nothing special - Small rooms but with a view over the park. It is somewhat withdrawn from Rue la Fayette which limits the traffic noise. CLose to Metro station Cadet and Poissonniére (pink line 7)
Very small lift (3 people)
Go eat your breakfast at La Corail 30 m from the hotel door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The view of the park from the room was nice and I slept well despite occasional street noise.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Near restaurants and subways, but still near center. Small spartan rooms. Loud playground in front during afternoon but is a view of a small park. Staff was ok. Elevator weirdly goes to half floors and then you have to carry luggage down 8 steps. One male staff member walked in on us at 11am despite the Do Not Disturb sign, check out was noon. Sufficient for price if a quick needed stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My stay was excellent and the staff are very helpful. The hotel is in an excellent position.
- rainboww50 (8/5): Shall I stay in this hotel again - Very good location -close to metro for people who prefer public transportation to walking. The hotel is in well known historical district Montmartre and walking distance from famous sites.
Very pleasant people work in this hotel, they always ready to help, give good advise or just have conversation.. My room was a good size room with relatively big bathroom and shower; windows of my room were kept open overnight and it was quiet - with little or no noise from outside. Every morning I had Parisian breakfast in the hotel. I'll stay there again next time I'll be in Paris.
- CircuitHero (6/5): - Excellent location! The room had a musty odor, they used room freshner each day that helped but they didn’t use it one day so it was an uncomfortable night. The mattress need a good upgrade to match a “3 star” hotel grade. The shower was tiny, i am 6 foot and couldn’t move/turn around easily while taking the shower. In whole, the room was disappointing for a “3 star” hotel.
- annasY9257UO (8/5): Nice location - Nice location, 15 min to Opera on foot, close to Montmartre, supermarket Monop' is 2 min from the hotel. The same with metro. The hotel is really not luxury, but you have everything necessary in the room. You have to be habituated to live in a big city because Paris never sleep and it's a challenge to sleep with open windows in summer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & good location - Lovely looking out on the small park. Easy walk to the Opera House & Galerie Lafayette
- Maciej (8/5): Central location and great when on a budget. - Centrally located wit a 10 minute walk to Gare du Nord and 3 minutes to the metro. Plenty of restarants in the vicinity, over the street there is a park and around the corner a laundry. There is a swimming pool within a 5 minute walk which is crowded in the mornings but you can do some laps.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay but need series upgrades. - As I am still in my career transition, I made an effort to attend a local panel discussion held in Paris in my career field. My daughter was in her Spring Break so I brought her along.
- Ron (8/5): - Was a central place to stay and the receptionist were always helpfully and friendly
- Robert680000 (6/5): Great Location, clean, kind staff, but no more than this. - Well, I can't say I am not overall satisfied, as the Hotel is located in a really good spot on the 9th Arr, just 10/15 min walk to Sacre Couer and Montmartre on the City north side, 15 minutes walk to Opera and one out of the two Lafayette Stores on the south side ( but you can easily reach the Louvre Museum in 25/30, and 10 minutes to Gare du Nord, and there's a Tube St. (n.7) just 3 minutes walk. So it's a perfect Cul de Sac just minutes above the City Center. The Staff looks like a bit impalpable, but they are really kind and helpful when you need. I had to say, however, that I am that type of person who likes to be by himself, and surely not in the habit to ask hourly for staff service. I used to get the Hotel to sleep and a shower, so I haven't got the chance to get often in touch with them. Rooms are small (about 14sqft) but apparently clean and however one housekeeper came everyday, and left the room as perfectly tidy and clean.
We haven't heard any noise during our stay, either night and day. The area is definitely quiet.
The weakness is the totally mushy breakfast ( I found out that croissants and pastries are certainly bought at the nearby supermarket and the quality is obviously poor) for whom they ask for an outrageous 10 Euros. Ridicolous.!!!!! Although I got a good offer online (so in the end I couldn't complaint for what I got) it's absolutely one overpriced Hotel about its regular rates, and despite of the good location it does not deserve more the 2 regular stars. Not sure whether I am happy to come back or not, but overall will do nicely, if you can't find more offers.
- Gary805 (8/5): Quaint hotel with good view and location - This hotel is only about a 10 minute walk from the Gare du Nord train station. It faces on to a lovely small wooded park called the square Molonthon and is about a 20 minute walk to the Louvre museum. Well positioned, the rooms are not too big, but adequate and the price is reasonable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): the hotel closes to central - nice workers but the hotel itself is like tiered.dark inside hotel at night,
so I had a spooky feeling one night
- 481farahh (6/5): Good price - This is an old fashioned hotel with very small lobby and weird elevator which opened in stairs but room had good views and big bath with tub which had a big window opened to a small park in front of the hotel the location of hotel was very good and near the Lafayette and Opera and subway was available.surrounding the hotel was too many places for food and shopping aria was available the best thing was a good bar exactly down the hotel room was hot so I turned the heater off and opened the window the room had terrible wifi that you should connect every time with password again and again.
- hetal (4/5): Room amenities - Not good no tea coffee provided after asking they gave worst tea maker which v can't use at all
- Lai Hing (6/5): convenient location - No shower room and only tub in the bathroom. It is easy to splash water all over the floor.
