The room was supposed to be 4 star. Ours was below street level with no view at all. It stunk of mold to the point where it was unbearable to stay. The windows were screwed shut and the air conditioning made a horendous noise. We would not have been able to stay in this room for a night. We left and checked in somewhere else.

- Vikki (6/5): Location was great, but too expensive for the standard of the amenities. - The location was great with easy access to the Rocks and Circular Quay. The staff were exceptional. The shower had substantial mould on the framework. One bedside light didn’t work, and the roller on the privacy blind didn’t work. The airconditioning was very loud. I do r think it was very good value for money.

- Andrew (8/5): This hotel is very good but could be excellent if attention to the final details was made. - Although there was not much of a view from the window, the location of the hotel in The Rocks is excellent, being only 5 minutes walk from Circular Quay. The room was spacious and the ensuite had just been renovated, though I understand not all have been throughout the hotel just yet. The included breakfast choice was excellent. Very nice reception area with bar, lounge and library. The air conditioning unit in our room was dated and needs replacing or repairing as it didn't work very well. Not ideal in summer when it's so hot and humid and there is little other means of ventilation for the room as the windows don't open. We were moved to another room because of this where the TV display was found to be damaged.

Initial reception contact was excellent from I think a French gentleman. All other reception communication was not at all friendly or engaging - refused to look up from screens when we passed by, going out or coming back. The room size (115) was small for a couple - more suited to an individual stay, the bathroom was very small with limited ability to share area at any time - again more suited to a one person stay. The fore mentioned staff acknowledgement.

- Dream66725461463 (4/5): No lift which can be a struggle. - We stayed here for three nights and were on the third floor. Unfortunately, there is no lift, which made it a real struggle. I felt especially sorry for the elderly couples — although the staff kindly helped with luggage, they still had to manage the stairs themselves. The rooms were quite dusty, but the shower was excellent and had great pressure. Breakfast was very greasy, so I stuck to toast and tea. If you want coffee, you have to pay extra, though there is coffee and hot water available from a flask. That said, the staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay.

We were told it couldn’t be fixed so we were offered two free drinks by way of compensation. Later that afternoon the hairdryer blew up in my hand when I turned it on. Black soot everywhere. It fused the power points so we asked for a new room. The new room had large stains on the carpet. We paid $388 for one night including breakfast. A lot of money for a very average experience. The old building is lovely and staff were helpful and kind. Bed was comfy but the rooms really need better maintenance.

- Natashka (7/5): Trendy hotel in a Fantastic location - I’m n a fantastic location, the hotel is nestled in the cool Rocks area, a stone’s throw from Circular Quay. A trendy hotel that smells fab Bathrooms were not best standard, the hotel feels a little dated .

- Alexander (7/5): - Sehr gute Lage. Das Hotel hat eine spezielle Ausstrahlung infolge seiner rund 120-jährigen Geschichte. Es fehlt ein Personenlift. Zudem war der Gepäcklift ausser Betrieb. Da war es schon bemühend, das Gepäck in den dritten Stock herauf zu tragen.

- Emily (9/5): The staff were friendly and generous. The place has an original, artistic and happy vibe. - The staff were kind and helpful. They held luggage, let us check in early, offered us a free drink. It was wonderful. The room smelt very damp and we could not open the window.
- Michelle (10/5): Centrally located, close to great cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff and clean rooms. - The location is fantastic! A quick walk to restaurants/cafes and ferries. Close to the Museum of Contemporary Art and the CBD. Honestly, I liked everything about the Hotel. Its a gem and I’ll be going back.

- Carolina (8/5): Very cozy and unique hotel with excellent staff and location! - The location of the hotel was incredible, just a five minute walk down to the Harbour! The hotel itself was very unique, cute and quiet. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The surrounding neighborhood was great - it was very easy to access a ton of restaurants and the Sydney Bridge Climb was less than a 10 minute walk as well! Lastly, we were able to check in early no problem, which was incredible after a 24 hour flight! The rooms were a bit small, but clean and comfortable. The sink was the biggest issue as it was nearly impossible to wash your face without getting water all over the floor.
- Rodney (10/5): Excellent hotel conveniently located for exploring the city - A loverly boutique style hotel. Charming staff, spacious rooms with excellent views of the Sydney harbour bridge and opera house. Location is perfect near to all the amenities with ferries, trams and buses close by for people who want to explore further afield. No passenger lift. However there is a service lift so you won’t need to carry your luggage to you room

- Peter (4/5): I was super annoyed at your staffs attitude regarding payment for my breakfast. Disappointed that your company can be so - Location Move to cashless. I find it offensive that you do not accept AUD in Australia. I have stayed at your hotel every time I’ve been to Sydney in the last 10 years and recommended friends to stay there. This is the last time I will stay there. Let me know if you revert back to accepting cash as legal tender.

- HAILEY (10/5): 10/10, amazing! Would highly recommend - everything was amazing. I arrived early at 7am and diego was an amazing first person to come in to contact with at the hotel. He directed me to the breakfast room and 45 minutes later my room was cleaned and ready to check in . i was in room 119 and the room was great, loved that it was on the first floor and easily accessible - loved having complimentary acess to still and sparkling water and could bring bottle of it to my room. the going green initiative for the room cleaning is great. great locaton in proximity of everything in the city. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again! the only thing that i can say is that sometimes the courtyard can be a bit loud at night with people down there, but it wasnt too bad.

Walking distance to ferries, trains, harbour bridge area and Opera House. Pillows and extras in the room to make it feel more special

- AnnieJuly (10/5): Charming hotel in top location!! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and historic hotel!! Staff were friendly and you couldn’t get a better location. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a view of the opera house at times which was an unexpected bonus!! (View was blocked by cruise ships at times)!
