• Oscar (10/5): Lovely little guesthouse, perfectly located and with an extremely friendly owner. - We loved our stay here. The bed/mattresses were very comfortable. Our room on the top floor was very spacious and nicely furnished, with a big window overlooking a temple. The aircon was extremely effective and a nice relief after a hot day. The host was exceptionally nice, and her coffee from her shop was excellent! The small touches were really nice, including hairdryers and free tea and coffee downstairs. The property itself is really well located, near to bus stops and the river boat terminals, with two 7/11s nearby. The local food is also really nice and affordable. We loved it so much we extended 3 days extra and if we came back to BKK, this would be our first choice to stay again. It’s an old building so you do get occasional visits from local wildlife (geckos and cockroaches). The shared bathrooms were cleaned to a high standard, they could have been cleaned more regularly as you can’t always rely on other guests to maintain hygiene standards.

• Benoît (10/5): Excellent rapport qualité-prix. - Le Hong Hostel est très bien situé dans Bangkok, tout près de Khaosan Road. Il est également à 20-30 min de tuktuk de toutes les attractions majeures de la ville. Nous n’avons à pas croisé le personnel durant notre séjour de 4 nuits mais la responsable a été toujours très réactive, parfois même proactive à nos demandes par message, de très bon conseil et arrangeante. C’est un rapport qualité-prix probablement imbattable. S’il faut trouver quelque chose nous pourrions dire que les chambres sont peu isolées phoniquement et notre chambre était un peu bruyante la nuit mais on ne s’attendait pas à autre chose en plein centre de Bangkok. Celle de nos ados n’était pas exposée la même chose et beaucoup plus calme.

• Cabral (7/5): Muy amables anfitriones pero el lugar no era muy limpio. - La chica que nos recibió nos dejó quedarnos media tarde más de lo previsto de forma gratuita. Fue muy amable. El aire acondicionado fue clave porque hacía mucho calor. Los baños no estaban muy limpios.

• Steve (9/5): Une bonne adresse à Bangkok - Le rapport qualité prix était excellent pour un logement sur Bangkok. La rue est en réalité une impasse, ce qui limite le bruit de la circulation. Le Hong Hostel se trouve à deux pas des commerces, 7-11, restaurants ou instituts de massages ou coiffeurs. La plupart des centres d'intérêt sont faisables à pied pour les marcheurs, ou les bus, tuktuks ou taxis se trouvent à proximité. La chambre était d'une propreté impeccable. Et plus grande que nous l'avions imaginée ! La salle de bain commune du 1er étage n'était pas un souci car très propre et toujours disponible durant notre séjour (5 nuits). Nous n'avons jamais utilisé la salle de bain du 3eme étage. La climatisation était très efficace, et sincèrement indispensable. Notre hôte était toujours très accueillante et chaleureuse lorsqu'elle était dans l'hôtel. De manière générale, nous avons été très satisfaits, surtout pour le prix payé. Merci ! Bien qu'éloigné de la route, la chambre peut être assez bruyante et les rideaux ne couvrent pas toute la fenêtre, la chambre est donc très lumineuse le matin. Notre hôte nous avait mis gratuitement à notre disposition des boules Quies, et Bangkok ayant tant de choses à nous offrir, que la lumière ne nous a jamais dérangé. L'attention était tout de même très appréciée ! La salle de bain manquait de luminosité selon moi, mais pas dérangeant car un miroir + miroir grossissant était à disposition dans la chambre !! :)

Muy auténtico. Y además hay notitas hechas a mano explicando todo por todas partes, eso fue muy bonito. No es culpa del hostal, porque en bangkok hay muchas, pero tuvimos un par de cucarachas en la habitación.

We were even given the WiFi details over message as well. The beds were really comfy, the sheets and duvet were extra nice. The bathrooms could do with a little tlc but that it's just being overly picky!!

• Merlin (4/5): Disappointing - The bedroom was decorated nicely and the staff was very friendly and solving problems quickly! :) The location was good and it is nice that there are 2 bathrooms and air conditioning in the bedrooms. The whole building was brittle (there was dust and parts of the floor falling down into our room from the ceiling), the bathrooms could be cleaned more often and it was smelling quite moldy when entering the building.

Cafe downstairs doesn't always work but coffee there is amazing. You will be near all major/popular districts, lots of amenities and things to do. Very affordable if your on a budget. Downsides are audibility and small house ants.

• Cyprien (6/5): Unpleasants surprises - The host, when there, was friendly. She helped us getting our bags back from the airport after they got lost. The AC works fine. We recommend this place only for one night or two, not longer. Unfortunately for us, we were expecting a better accommodation. The bedroom was pretty small, with two backpacks it was already hard to walk around. The bed is on the ground and it is pretty hard. The bathroom was smelly, didn't have a window so no air to refresh it after showers (therefore it smelled like stagnation). We were expecting body soap and shampoo but they were run out, the toilet paper too. On our second night we had the friendly visit of a jeko (no clue how it got in the room). The third night we woke up at 2 am because we heard a very weird noise, we turned on the lights and there was a 10cm/4 inches long cockroach on the pillow. No idea of how it got in the room, maybe there are some holes and insects keep entering, however, definitely not a pleasant surprise.

The room was very comfortable, air conditioner on, and laundry right next to the building for 40B. , the receptionist is very lovely and the place is very quiet, the street is short and doesn't have nay traffic and in bangkok that is amazing. Also an street market at 15 minutes walking or less.

• Olga (8/5): 3-night stay at Bangkok - The price/quality ratio of this hostel is phenomenal: the hostel is small and cozy, rooms are simple and clean and there’s no complaining about the bathrooms. :) Location is also quite ok: there are many restaurants, cafes and 7elevens nearby and many public transportation options. Pun, the host, is super sweet and welcoming! Rooms are not very soundproof, so if you have trouble sleeping while hearing the city voices at night I recommend getting earplugs for your stay.
