The entire team went out of their way to make us feel at home throughout our stay. We arrived quite early, so we started the day with coffee and croissants while waiting, and to our surprise, our room was ready almost immediately. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the included minibar was a fantastic touch. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. There was a great variety of delicious food, and everything was plentiful and well prepared. The lounge was another beautiful part of the hotel. The food was delicious, and the live pianist created an amazing atmosphere that made the experience even more special.

Z95ARrafaelm (6/5): Most haircut ever, recommended by Concierge. - Hotel is ok, but I asked concierge help with finding a great place for a haircut (I especially asked for a great place, looking for something special) and he recommended the hotel place, called Amor Fou. I literally had the worst haircut in my life, place is terrible, it is a store with a small place for haircuts, lady who "took care" of me was more preoccupied with trying to sell clothes to people and kept yelling at employees while doing my hair, the really truly gave me a haircut even a ten year old would have done better, ridiculous she calls herself a coiffeur. it is a shame that concierge was so unprofessional as to recommend this terrible place, Mandarin Oriental should close that place as it really should not be inside their hotel, let alone recommend it, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

margaretmP2180HD (10/5): Mandarin Oriental is Central and Luxurious! - The Mandarin Oriental is truly where you want to be in Munich. It’s right next to thr Haufbrauhous and a block down the street from Marienplatz. You cannot go wrong with being so central. The hotel itself is beautiful and so high tech. The rooms have heated floors in the bathrooms and there is casting/airplay to the television . Go for a Mandarin Room if possible, we had one and got the truly best view of the city anyone could have asked for! We saw the entire city sky line. The service is also unmatched. We came in for our honeymoon and upon arrival were met with gifts and rose petals littering the room. It was such a personalized and thoughtful touch. Everyone knew our names too!

Absolutely amazing services - everyone remembers your name from bellboy, front deck to restaurant. All requests are met on the spot. Mandarin Room is gorgeous and spacious. Hotel location is very central. Champagne breakfast is the best start of the day. Will be back again!

jfm1126 (6/5): Some Problems - We have recently returned from a three night stay at this hotel, the third time we have stayed there, owing to previous visits having been so enjoyable. The location is ideal. Our welcome was friendly and helpful, the room spacious and well appointed to a high standard. The majority of the staff are very good. Okay. There is a major construction site at present only metres from the hotel. The noise and negative impact from this is significant. Be aware! Service in the main restaurant at breakfast was often disorganised with a slightly bad vibe. There was another fairly small issue concerning an absent part of our deal which should have been so easy to resolve, and yet was not. For the notably high price we paid, poor value for money at present.

Suggest booking a package that includes their breakfast — probably the greatest buffet ever known to man. Also, carve out time for cocktails in their lobby bar — perfectly made with a personal touch (yes, they will remember your drink order the next day when you return!)

Gioya and Aaron (front desk), Louis and the guy whose brother was at the front helping us with transport (breakfasts), and the brother helping with transport (I wish I had gotten their names!) were especially wonderful. The ones who served high tea were also amazing. The accommodations were also incredible. We are fans!!

FLgirl222 (8/5): Wonderful trip to Munich! - We stayed at MO Munich for 10 days as our home base while touring the surrounding area. We had a jr. suite and it was beautiful room with plenty of space. Our experience at MO was excellent from start to finish. We are a well traveled couple fortunate to have stayed at luxury hotels around the world so always have some experience for comparison. The concierge department was extremely helpful in planning our itinerary. Their recommendations from tours to dining were always on point. All staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping department is hardworking and does a fabulous job. Heated floors in the bathroom were amazing!! The bellman are so helpful and always available. The rooftop bar was nice, but we thought a bit overrated. The one and only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is lack of extra amenities. The gym is extremely small. If there are more than two people in the weight area it would be impossible to workout. Working out is important to us while traveling for a long stretch of time. The sauna and steam room are coed and small. It would be uncomfortable as a woman going in one if there was another male utilizing the facility. The pool on rooftop is in the middle of an upscale bar - Not really ideal after a day of sightseeing to relax and unwind. An indoor pool with hot tub would have been ideal! If none of these amenities are important, the MO Munich is a wonderful choice. Thank you to all the hardworking employees that made our first trip to Munich a memorable experience!

Alchemynd (2/5): Insincere Place to be - Because of the employees of M.O I was removed by Police under false pretenses, despite my booking, including getting no refund and withholding my money stating to use this credit on their other branches. Which shows evidence to their wrongdoing. Even escalating that case with one of their Senior Management, was causing even more scrutiny through tactical delays and with no sincere resolution. If you are a Querky and kind person, avoid this place. They cannot handle Free spirits with sincere care. Don't ever allow yourselves to get disrespected. Disappointing Since my case might be unique, I would inform Future Hotel guests about that there is a massive construction happening right infront of this Hotel branch, which will likely disturb your stay. The mix of disappointments through insincere actions and the current state of the hotels environment makes this place not a reasonable stay, if you value a high class and pleasant stay for your vacation, or business visits. The Concierge was exceedingly helpful . I would recommend the MO if you find yourself in Munich
Emmanuel (6/5): Overpriced and small problems - Nice hotel. My "suite" wasn't really a suite. It was a room. Nothing says "5 star hotel" better than having empty shampoo and soap bottles in the shower. It took housekeeping 20 minutes to solve the issue. Really great when you need to go to a business meeting.

Frank (10/5): - MO has mastered the fine art of 'the details." All staff were amazing. Location is easily within walking distance to most sites. Rooftop bar has the most spectacular view of Munich. As a traveler that has been blessed to stay at some of the best hotels of the world, MO Munich is without a doubt one of my most favorite. You can't go wrong staying with MO, but MO Munich is a must.

There is a large building site directly next to and over looking the hotel. Very noisy and unsightly to look at. Our room overlooked the site which wasn't pleasant.
JTKnott (10/5): Over the top - All I can say about the MO is it is over the top in every way. The room was luxurious with plenty of room for our many suitcases. The bed was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. The room included a stocked minibar which was included in the room price. Breakfast was included since we booked through American Express Travel. They offered an amazing assortment of wonderful food plus the ability to order from a menu. Just a top notch organization.

The Mandarin Oriental Munich offers a taste of polished luxury tucked into the city’s historic core. It’s elegant, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches—but at this price point, even minor slips feel a bit louder than they should. Positives: • You can’t beat the location. Right in the heart of Munich’s old town and literally steps from the Hofbräuhaus. Whether you’re chasing bratwurst, a riverside run, or a stroll through high-end boutiques, you’re perfectly placed. The Isar is just ten minutes away, with a shaded trail that offers a welcome reprieve from the summer heat and the chaos of the square. • The rooms hit all the right notes: spacious, well-appointed, with beds that strike the sweet spot between firm and forgiving. The air conditioning was more than just symbolic—an underrated triumph during Munich’s warmer months. And then there was the shower: equipped with a digital temperature display and precision controls, it was one of those details you didn’t know you needed until you had it. Now I want one at home. • Staff were warm and welcoming, bringing a genuinely friendly energy to the experience. Everyone we encountered seemed happy to be there, which, as any frequent traveler knows, isn’t always the case at five-star properties. • Room service delivered solid comfort fare when we needed it—well-executed and conveniently available, though prices leaned toward the eyebrow-raising end of the spectrum. A proactive gesture—say, comping a small room service charge—would’ve turned that hiccup into a moment of brand loyalty. • Service was inconsistent in ways that felt beneath the Mandarin Oriental name. Room service carts sat far longer than they should’ve. Calling housekeeping produced a busy signal—every time. We even witnessed housekeeping hang up on the front desk over the phone. It wasn’t malicious—just a touch chaotic, and at this level, even small lapses start to matter.

catd446 (4/5): steer Clear of the Mandarin in Munich---- - Worst experience ever. There are many fine hotels and resorts to choose from and this is one I would steer clear of. They actually send an email the night before your arrival date suggesting you pay for an additional night so you do not have to wait for your room-classless. I wanted to switch hotels because I thought the room I booked was misrepresented and I wanted to switch hotels and the manager suggested he would charge me for my full stay. His next suggestion was I pay 1k more per night and upgrade my room. The hotels was mediocre, the front desk staff was very unwelcoming and I have been to Munich 20 plus times and never experienced a rude reception upon arrival. I will never go back!!! Also, the Mandarin in Madrid is equally as bad-Go 4 Seasons in Madrid by all means!!!!

147aartil (4/5): Repeated Failures and Dishonesty – Deeply Disappointed by This Stay - We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Munich for 5 nights, and it was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish — especially given the hotel’s reputation and price point. Before arrival, I specifically requested a very quiet room as I am sleep-sensitive. Upon checking in at 9 PM, I was given a room where the main light behind the bed was not functioning. When I asked about the dimness, the front desk staff member dismissed it by saying this was the “vibe” of the hotel. I’ve stayed here before and knew that was simply not true. When I pointed this out, there was no apology or even acknowledgment that I’d been misled. While maintenance tried to resolve the lighting issue, we attempted to order room service — only to be told the kitchen was “over capacity” and we’d need to wait over an hour for a sandwich. And the main restaurant was FULL. I was traveling with a child, and with no viable options, I had to go out in the pouring rain at 9.30 PM to find food. This is absolutely not the level of service one should expect from a five-star property. Despite raising concerns, we had to sleep in the dark room that night — which was also very noisy in the morning, we had requested for a quiet room in our original booking. The next day, they moved us to another room, which was an improvement, but unfortunately the problems didn’t end there. I sent five pieces of clothing to the laundry with a clear, time-specific agreement to have them returned the next day — my child had no clean clothes. Not only did the clothes not arrive on time, but the staff then claimed they had already been delivered and left in the room — which they clearly had not. This was incredibly frustrating and once again, dishonest. It was only at the time of checkout, after I became visibly upset and demanded answers, that the clothes were suddenly “found.” It felt like only my persistence forced any resolution. To summarize: this stay was a string of mishandled issues, broken promises, and at times, outright dishonesty from hotel staff. For a property under the Mandarin Oriental name, this was simply unacceptable. I’ve received more competent and honest service at far more modest hotels. Until this property makes serious improvements in management and service, I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

354maxl (10/5): Best hotel that made my trip great again! - On my 7 day of my 8 days trip in Munich. The hotel is the highlight. Great services received from every department. The front desk is welcoming and warm. The Hotel manager Katharina is kind and helpful, she came out to meet and greet us, congratulated our wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday (belated). The front desk team is engaging and friendly, they made my trip really special. The room is perfect, wonderful and comfortable bed. All the necessary items available, and the control is easy. The room sound insulation is amazing, it’s all quiet and peaceful in the room. Don’t miss the breakfast, great variety, fresh and very tasty. The fried noodle is particularly brilliant, and the coconut pancake is not to be missed. One of the best personal travel trips I had, and Mandarin Oriental is the main reason.

Vv (9/5): Hotel exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed our stay - The hotel staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were well appointed and very clean. The location is in the heart of the old city so great for exploring if you are a first time visitor to Munich like we were. The service at the signature Japanese restaurant was poor. No atmosphere, no engagement with customers, some also hotel guests. Like so often, these days with staff, it becomes more about individuals completing their tasks/jobs with minimal etiquette and missing the big picture which is to give your customers a great experience so they return. The food was good but overpriced.

Me and my family only stayed for a night but we all felt so welcome and loved every minute. I did have a problem at the restaurant with an allergen, but honestly I have so many allergens that that one's on me. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, Aaron at the front desk was wonderful. Truly an amazing experience, 10/10 would do again.
