- Romain BIELAIRE (5/5): Hôtel Central Istanbul - L'emplacement central, et la terrasse avec vue panoramique. L'hôtel est vétuste, et semble avoir perdu le lustre qu'il a dû avoir. Le personnel n'a pas l'air très motivé. Le petit déjeuner est moyen. Les prises de ma chambre ne fonctionnaient pas, seule la prise dans la salle de bain fonctionnait. La terrasse n'est ouverte que pour le petit déjeuner, et est fermée le reste de la journée, c'est dommage.

When we tried to flush the toilet it couldn't so we asked for help and they didn't want to admit it was terrible and wasn't working! The receptionist was no help either! 0 stars!!!!! save your money!

- Skagerrak (10/5): Gorgeous view and location, for the adventurous traveler - The flexible traveler – who is willing to work with a front desk that doesn’t speak much English, consider cash rather than credit cards, and is tolerant of older buildings – will enjoy the affordability of the view from the sea view rooms of the little park across the street and the Sultanahmet and Blue Mosques, as well as the Bosporus. The view from the breakfast terrace is also stunning, and we enjoyed the breakfast tea, yogurt, eggs, olives, cheese, toast and rolls. The location is unbeatable- easy walk through the park to the tourist sites, avoiding the hawkers on Divan Yolu. A drink at the next door tavern, the Eagle, was always nice to top off a night. Plenty of storage space in the room for our gear as well. A bargain for the price.

- Christina (7/5): Good - The location, is extraordinary, very close to local turistic places and restaurants. There is a beautifull view on the hotel terrace. They have a kind staff. When I asked for an onther kind of bread (whole bread) in the next day it was on the breakfast. When we had a problem with a tourist company we hired, the hotel staff offered help and they managed to fix the problem for us. The curtains of the room where not well clean, with dust on the top. I recomend that the hotel pay more attention on this subject.

The walls for my room were so poor that one could hear neighbors talk, singing, snoring and discussions. I will never never choose this hotel again.

- Esengul (8/5): Very pleasant stay. - The hotel was located on the side road of Sultanahmet. Walking distance to the tram station in between Sultanahmet and Cemberlitas. In walking distance to the mosques, grand bazaar and many more places. So many restaurants and cafes to choose from. The hotel has a lift and the rooms were very spacious. Breakfast was on the top floor with a beautiful view!

You can enjoy your breakfast for nice starting of the day. The cost performance is very good. I don't know from where comes in but I heard a noise during night. Bring your ear plag. After putting ear plag, I could restart to sleep.

The view from the restaurant was Magnificent We can see hagia sophia the Bosphorus and the bridge. The room was nice The view from my room was nice I can see little bit of the Bosphorus and hagia sophia If you take the 3rd or 4th Floor you can have better view. The location was excellent 3 minutes you can reach the tram stations Sultanahmet. I would like to thank everyone in this hotel. - Dilara (2/5): - Das Hotel ist sehr alt. Die Badezimmer sind aufjedenfall renovierungsbedürftigt. Nachts konnte man nicht in Ruhe schlafen, weil man alles hören konnte. Am schlimmsten war das zuknallen der Türen. Das Frühstück war langweilig. Jeden Tag gab es das gleiche, vielleicht wegen Corona. Da wir den ganzen Tag unterwegs waren und es nur zum übernachten benutzt haben war es auszuhalten. Ich würde es aber nicht nochmal buchen. Am besten bisschen mehr bezahlen und etwas vernünftiges buchen.

- lifewithlor (10/5): Lovely stay! - Hotel Hali staff were incredibly accommodating for a seminar we hosted here. The staff got to know all the participants, engaged us, went out of their way to assist and meet needs. The view and location are incredible for old city sights. Highly recommend.
- biltravel (10/5): Hali Hotel November 2019 - I have recently stayed at the Hali Hotel, Istanbul. (November 2019). The entire Hotel has been completely redecorated and is in pristine condition. As always it is a clean, safe and secure place to stay, a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet metro and most of the ancient sites. The staff speak English and are extremely helpful. Breakfast is served on the top floor, giving panoramic views of this great city. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Istanbul at a very reasonable price, then this is it.
- zs_096 (8/5): Very good location, value for money! - Very good location, just few minutes walking to the Sultan Ahmet mosque, At Meydan, Aya Sofia, Top Kapi, Gulhane Park and tram station. However it is located in quite street, which is good. Hotel is old, but nice. Breakfast is served at terrace with an amazing view on Aya Sofia and sea. Breakfast is fine, moderate but tasty. Problem was that if you come later, some of the food will not be available, the most tasty one. Staff is polite and helping. Front desk man speaks English. TV has just few channels but for us it was not problem. Rooms were commodious. Our room had view on other buildings, however it was not big problem. It is good choice for few days, especially if location is important for you. Everything is near and easy approachable. You can spend nights walking nearby, plenty of options.
- Renata1Sana (2/5): Rude employees. Dirty rooms. Smelly bathrooms - Must say that it was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Bedding was dirty with hair all over it. When we asked for new bedding the receptionist accused us of using the bed and asking for it to be changed. At arrival and check out there was no greeting nor any offer from staff to help us with luggage as is the case with other hotels. The bathroom stank and was old and dirty. There were noisy guests screaming for about an hour in the middle of the night and management did not intervene. Walls are so thin we could hear everything that was happening in the next room.

Breakfast has got little option. But one can walk down and get plenty restaurants and cafe. Safe too. Overall I am happy with this stay.
- Leucan (2/5): very bad experince - The staffs were very impolite. The breakdast was very bad and was not fresh. the room was not clean. even when in the night we wanted a blanket, he said you have to pay 5 lire!!we stayed just one night . I never go to this hotel at all
- daniyalnaeem96 (2/5): WORST EVER EXPERIENCE, PLEASE DON't RUIN YOUR TRIP - Guys this hotel sucks big time, it was our 11 day honeymoon trip during which we explored multiple cities, rented cars, resided at the best resorts AND right at the end it got badly ruined (Credits to Hali hotel) & its worst ever management. If you don't have time to read the full story just know that me & my wife were verbally abused & harassed by a drunken mid aged man at the reception. Thus we had to check out during the midnight with our luggage to one of the neighboring hotels. JUST IMAGINE You are with your wife, you checkin late & you are greeted by a not so welcoming old man who never smiles, is kind of rude in every sentence that comes out of his mouth. I crack a couple of jokes to ease out the environment, later we checked-in to an Avg looking standard room that stinked & had a broken washroom. Since we were very tired & To avoid a fuss we spend the night with the intent that we'll get a better room the next day therefore after breakfast we agreed to pay extra to get a better room. The receptionist said we'll shift your luggage to the new room & you may collect the key on your return (*as we were heading to see the palaces/museums in the neighborhood). ON OUR RETURN We are greeted with a receptionist *(who I'm sure was drunk - as no sensible man would deal a client like this, that too someone who belongs to the hospitality segment) who fails to understand the story written above, doesn't recognize us, can't speak a single word of English & begins to argue in broken English: you live here? No luggage? You give proof you live? etc. I try repeatedly so he understands that our luggage was shifted by his staff to a new room we are unaware of & I have yet to collect the keys. I tell him the name of the other receptionist plus our old room so he may check the details but he fails to understand & starts being abusive. That's where I loose my temper & I shouted too but i tried not to use a foul word since he wasn't in his senses. Summary is I picked up my luggage & checked out during the midnight. The last scene that i saw was like watching Monday Night Raw, the hotel employees were in a brawl & the drunk one was about to punch another young worker who was having an argument with him in Turkish. We relocated the luggage to one of the hotel nearby, got the room in the same price & the hotel (+ staff's attitude) was a zillion times better. This was the most stressful travel experience of my entire life. That too when you are travelling with your spouse. I so wish I could have punched him right in the middle of his face but its better to avoid a conflict in a foreign country esp where language is a barrier. TO ALL Its never about the wasted money but if you value your & your family's respect this is not the place to stay.
