- Christian (8/5): Stay here if you want to experience what the best of NY used to be before it became a giant Motel 6. - Memories! The place is the Studio 54 of hotels. But unlike Studio 54 it hasn’t left me with a degenerative disease or class A addiction. Just some fond memories of supermodels strutting their stuff down the dimly lit runway like a walkway past the booths where Martinis and Mai Tais were consumed at happy hours. Now the place is like a morgue where disoriented Dutch tourists try to figure out why the place was ever cool. Not me. I love it. The rooms are minimal yet large and have a seductive OnlyFansSet feel about them. That someone hasn’t resurrected it.

- Timothy (4/5): Tired and long past its best. - Staff were great.A good location. I have stayed many,many times at The Royalton in the past but not for 6 years. Since my last trip the super lively bars have closed and the restaurant has shut. Clearly no investment has been made for some time.It feels like a tired, down at heal place well past its best, whereas in the past it felt trendy and vibrant. A real shame. The bed was old and lumpy and I woke up with back ache.

- Zoubeïda (5/5): Dommage, une localisation parfaite mais un accueil déplorable et stressant pour rien - Un emplacement vraiment idéal, hyper pratique à midtown ligne de métro à 3 mins à pied hyper proximité à broadway et Bryant Park J'ai eu une grande baignoire, ce qui était cool Le check-in était désastreux. Alors que j'ai payé la totalité du séjour avant mon arrivée, l'établissement demande un dépôt de garantie, procédure tout à fait normale. Sauf que leur système ne fonctionnait pas et que la personne de l'accueil (une jeune femme hispanique) m'a fait utiliser plusieurs cartes de crédit alors que c'est son système qui était en panne, dont certaines cartes qui ont finalement fini par recevoir plusieurs prélèvements (que je n'ai pas récupéré à date). Une autre personne à qui je me suis adressée à la réception m'a confirmé que la personne qui s'est occupée de moi aurait dû réagir différemment en constatant que deux cartes ne fonctionnaient pas plutôt que d'insister plusieurs fois. Après un moment très stressant où aucune de mes cartes ne fonctionnait et où la personne en face ne me proposait aucune solution (pas de cash, pas de virement ...elle me proposait d'appeler ma banque en France alors qu'il était minuit, n'importe quoi), j'ai finalement eu accès à ma chambre. Seconde mauvaise interaction : je me rends compte tard en soirée que je n'ai plus mon chargeur d'Iphone. Je descends demander à la même personne s'il est possible de me prêter un câble de chargement une petite heure pour me dépanner. La personne me répond sans y réfléchir un instant et sans poser la question à ses collègues qu'ils l'ont pas de câble à prêter. C'est typiquement le genre de comportement que je trouve extrêmement inhospitalier dans un hôtel : Alors même que la personne m'a fait vivre une expérience très désagréable et stressante à mon arrivée, elle ne fait rien pour m'aider ou me rendre service tard dans la nuit. Cette personne devrait honnêtement être licenciée car elle ne fait rien pour aider les clients. Je n'y retournerai pas de ce fait

Very good hotel location if you want to go around Manhattan - close to the metro line, very touristic location though (Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park are in close walking distance). The hotel is clearly very old, and with the fact that most of it hasn't been renewed, the bathroom, couch, and the carpet don't seem very clean. In the lobby the waiting seats are broken and the stuffing of chairs comes out. I think this place has the potential to be restored but as it is right now I wouldn't go back.

- 923marandam (10/5): excellent stay - the room was clean and everything was orderly on arrival. the staff was prompt and helpful and very friendly. we decided late into our one night stay that we wanted to extend our stay and stay another night, and at close to 2am, Jose and Isaiah worked their magic to not only let us stay, but keep the same room we were already in, and for a fantastic price. if you want to stay somewhere clean, easily accessible, and on the border of everything, this is your place. and the cost? for a 4 star hotel in TIMES SQUARE, on a Friday/Saturday night? cant beat the price.

- Nick (4/5): A once great hotel, that now has a hostel vibe rather than old school NY glamour - a shame. - Good location Royalton used to be a great NY hotel with a wonderful buzzy lobby. Now it has no bar, no restaurant, no atmosphere and the bare minimum in the now tired rooms. It feels like a business that has been stripped, prior to being sold.

- Drin (1/5): Skandal - Die Lage war gut Sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung im Royalton Hotel New York. Wir haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht und wollten ganz normal einchecken. Das erste Zimmer roch extrem stark nach Marihuana und war absolut unzumutbar. Nach unserer Reklamation erhielten wir ein zweites Zimmer – doch auch dieses war nicht ordentlich gereinigt. Es befanden sich noch Kleidungsstücke von vorherigen Gästen im Zimmer, was aus unserer Sicht ein klares No-Go ist. Aufgrund dieser Zustände haben wir uns entschieden, das Hotel wieder zu verlassen. Besonders ärgerlich: Trotz dieser offensichtlichen Mängel wollte man uns die Stornogebühr nicht zurückerstatten. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie ist das absolut inakzeptabel. Sauberkeit und grundlegende Standards sollten selbstverständlich sein. Leider können wir dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

- Nichelle (8/5): - It was local to everything we had planned. Very close to time square and easy access to public transportation. Everything seemed clean and the staff was accommodating when we needed bags held after check out to explore the city. The AC kept freezing and although the maintenance man told us how to fix it we shouldn't have to keep defrosting for 2 hours at a time with only the fan mode. Luckily it was cooler out and he gave us the okay to open the windows. Did not like the shower knobs. They were very confusing, minor inconvenience.
