- tmoore48 (10/5): Convenient location for the train station - The hotel is charming and the staff attentive. We were leaving early for a tour and wouldn’t have time to eat breakfast, and they packed us a to go breakfast, which was perfect. We got a taxi from Marco Polo to Piazzole Roma, and it was a two minute walk from there to the hotel. Then, when we left, it’s a ten minute walk to the train station, with only one bridge to cross (although it’s a big one!).

The hotel is a beautiful 15th-century palazzo set along a quiet canal, offering a true Venetian feel from the moment you arrive. It’s perfectly located, far enough away from the crowded, tourist-heavy areas to feel peaceful, yet close enough to easily walk to the train station and explore the city. It really gave us the best of both worlds. The breakfast each morning was excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re looking for an authentic Venice experience without being surrounded by the busiest tourist spots, this is a perfect choice.
- michaelpT5542AE (10/5): Palazzo Marcello al sole. - Location is good and near the station/taxi stop. Boat taxi,s are easy to get to and gondolers moore outside the hotel Room was clean with balcony overlooking the canal. There is a cafe next door so noise is around till around 10pm. Rooms at the back of the hotel would not be affected. Also, as we had a front room overlooking the canal which was also a main thoroughfare, the noise of people wheeling suitcases all day and night was constant. Also, every morning, the garbage barge would pull up outside and dock below our window. Breakfast caters for all tastes. Help yourself buffet with rolls, croissants, cold meats and cheese, hot scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, cereal, jams etc. tea and coffee. Teapots and milk jugs provided. Free wi-fi. Minibar. Kettle on the room with tea and coffee.
- Melster (10/5): Lovely Gem! - My sister and I stayed for 4 nights and it was fantastic. I loved the location as it is away from the touristy areas and there were a lot of terrific restaurants around. They have a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a drink, the breakfast had lots of selection and the BEST scrambled eggs of our whole trip! I would certainly stay here again without any hesitation. One more plus was the very spacious room and another cute sitting area just outside the door of our room in the common area.
- Mollie8400 (8/5): Good value hotel - Nice hotel. Room was very small, but adequate. The bed was king sized and relatively comfy (it could use a foam pad on top). Our shower was a little odd. There is no fan in the bathroom, but you can't open the window if you are using the shower head because it gets in the way. The shower head is also mounted on the side wall instead of the wall by the short end of the tub so it's very easy to get water on the floor. It's on a hose so you can pull it down to rinse yourself off, but if you want to stand under it it's tricky. The breakfast was excellent and had a lot of variety. It is a quick 200m walk to the train/bus station which is good if you are dragging luggage over bridges. There is a water taxi dock right in front, but they are really expensive so if you can you should walk. It's about a 40min walk to St. Mark's which is quite pleasant.

- maryannh858 (10/5): A charming hotel in the heart of beautiful Venice! - Our first stop on our wonderful trip to Italy. We took the water taxi from the airport right to the front of the hotel. This is a small and charming hotel in a historic building with a lovely courtyard, a breakfast room and a bar area. The rooms aren’t lavish but comfortable and clean and we were happy with our choice. The hotel staff is warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. They were very accommodating to any and all requests. They offered several recommendations for restaurants nearby on our first evening there. The hotel is with walking distance to all the points of interest and the train station. Near the hotel we found lovely pizazzas where you can enjoy a cappuccino and cicchetti while watching the bustle at market stalls and lively cafes. Twisting narrow streets to explore and a variety of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a great coffee and pastry shop right next door to the hotel or you can enjoy a lovely complimentary breakfast buffet in the hotel’s courtyard. We absolutely loved Venice and were very happy with our stay here. Thank you to all your charming staff for making us feel so welcome. We hope to visit you again on our next trip to Venice!

Only noise was from other guests coming and going. Breakfast was good with choices something for everyone. Watch out for the pidgeons stealing your food in outside garden. The view just outside the main entrance was also good because of the canal,bridge and old surrounding buildings were right in front of you. The breakfast selection was also good. - pinir67 (10/5): Old Charm Venice hotel - If you like small hotels with an old charm, friendly staff, great location, and perfect service, the Palazzo Marcello hotel in Venice would be a great choice. The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma (where one way or another you will end up in with your luggage) so walking through the cobbled stone alleys of Venice with suitcases become less of a drag. It is also within a walking distance of major attractions such as Rialto bridge (20 minutes), the Accademia Bridge (15 minutes) and San Marco Square (25 minutes). Breakfast is great, with nice variety of backed goods, chesses, vegetables, juices and coffee. Eating in the quite inner courtyard under vines full of wisteria and clematis flowers is a real treat. The rooms was specious with a large bathroom and a working AC (so important and rare in Venice). The room has minibar with some drinks (extra cost), coffee set, toiletries and computer size safe. The bed are huge and comfortable and the view of the canal and the bridge makes you smile every morning. The room could use a paint job to spruce it up and the windows could definitely use a clean up so the beautiful view can be truly admired. I liked the old fashion feel, the brick posts, wood beams, tiled floors and the keys that are so big that need to be left with reception - just like in the old days. Highly recommended.

Walking distance to the bus terminal and to train station. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The room is very outdated and old, the shower was very small, carpet near the front door had stains. The lighting in our room was none existabt, we had to habe lights on all the time. Our room(117) was in a corner, the windows facing a deserted alleyway with no proper window security. We always jad to look our staff in the suitcase when we left the room. Room was clean with housekeeping coming daily to tidy up

- ChrisAHerbert (8/5): 3 night couples stay June ‘25 - 3 night stay in June ‘25. Great location close to public transport hubs and 20 mins walk to St Marks. Beautiful 500 yr old building full of character. Great breakfast options and courtyard dining is superb. Junior Suite was spacious but bathroom was very basic (with a bath/shower), compact and dated. A/C was welcome and needed. We stayed in suite to front of hotel and noise levels in the early hours was intrusive as windows not double glazed. Room was cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels, this was very impressive. Staff were amazing, professional, friendly and informative. In particular, Luca (and Lucia) from front desk went above and beyond to develop relationships with us recommending restaurants, places to visit etc and ensure our stay was memorable. Highly recommend staying here.

(Travel transportation changed due to train strike.) They promptly reply all my question re any transportation from Trieste to Venice. We had very memorable stay in this hostel. - 80jenh (10/5): Perfect stay - I visited with my mum in June and was so pleased with my choice. A 5 minute walk from the bus station but in a beautiful area of Venice. We had a canal view which was lovely. Comfortable beds, high ceilings and two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath/shower. Breakfast was wonderful out in the courtyard. Lena from the front desk was so delightful and couldn't help us enough, she was wonderful. 24hr reception desk and they look after your key while you are out as they are on these lovely metal heavy weights. I have been to Venice before but I would definitely stay here again next time I visit.

The hotel was just about walkable (we managed it with a suitcase and smaller hand luggage each) from the Piazzalo Roma, the terminal for the people-mover and the local buses, it was a short walk, but with 3 small bridges to cross.

We original booked 2 rooms for the same price. 1 room with 2 people and the other with just 1 by mistake. We contacted the hotel about the 2nd guest and were required to pay an extra $10/nt for the second guest, even though the original price was the same for single and double occupancy. There was a foul smell in the lobby on the second night and morning of arrival. It’s a good place but not great.

- crys98 (8/5): Venetian gem - I am so happy we chose this hotel for our stay in Venice . It’s only a 15 min walk from the train station . It is sooo pretty ! I loved the old world charm and windows facing the canals . Our room was spacious enough and very clean. The lobby attendants were very kind, helpful, and courteous . Angel, the bartender was AMAZING ! He made us the best aperols in Italy and had special drinks such as The Cuba Libre which was perfectly made . He provided great ambience in the hotel bar and was very welcoming and entertaining . The breakfast provided was excellent with many options and servers available to clean tables quickly . I would’ve given palazzo Marcello 5 stars if they would’ve fixed the AC in my in-laws room . Luckily, it wasn’t warm during our stay , but AC is one of the reasons I chose this hotel and unfortunately the AC in their room was not fixed . I would definitely stay there again . Room was a bit tired and had a wonky floor which made going to the bathroom in the dark interesting! Also, the shower was not great, either freezing or boiling with little water pressure.

- SamJsn (10/5): Wonderful place. - What a beautiful hotel. The staff were so friendly and always happy to help if needed. Our room overlooked the canal and whilst compact, was big enough for us and had everything we needed. Breakfast is varied- selection of meats and cheeses, cereal, croissants... Only negative is that the hairdryers in the rooms could be updated - they're a tad shabby and barely give out any blast. If you ve got a lot of hair to dry you could be there for some time! Overall, a very pleasant stay and the hotel is brilliantly located. We arrived by boat to the front doors but if you are on foot from the train or bus stations, it's a really easy and short walk to it too. Highly recommend here.

Beautiful area not as crowded as the hotel we stayed at during the week We discussed if we ever come back to Venice this will be our Hotel ❤️ The hotel was so helpful arranging a private water taxi to take us to the area where we were catching a bus to get on our cruise ship about two hours away . They were also very helpful with dinner arrangements for the evening ! The bar was a nice touch inside the hotel and the garden was lovely ❤️ We only got a basic room with a window that faced the canal it was just fine for what we needed for just one night The bathroom was nice loved the large tub ! For the price this is an excellent hotel

The towel heating rack didn't work. Otherwise, we were very happy with the room. We loved the view of the canal. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.

- Karen (8/5): - Loved view of canal. Easy to find from train station. Main bridge from RR station has lots of steps to schlep luggage. Hotel neighborhood has lots of stores and eateries. Our room was extremely small and needs fixing. For example, closet door very hard to move. Very little space for storing clothes and luggage.
- Sheila (8/5): Nice location with friendly staff. - What a lovely hotel. A short walk from the bus station which was convenient. Staff were friendly. The room was very basic and bathroom small. Breakfast was ok but kitting to write home about.

Lots of lovely restaurants nearby and a lovely but 20 minute walk to San Marco, but we enjoyed lots of beautiful places on this walk. The hotel staff were lovely and really helpful. Breakfast was really nice. Rooms were nice and bed was very comfortable. Would recommend and return to stay
- Palmer (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. Don't expect luxury in the standard rooms, but they are very adequate, and the location is terrific. The hotel is quiet and comfortable, and provides a nice breakfast buffet. The location is exceptional, and all the desk staff were nice and very helpful!

- Grandvisitor (10/5): A very nice little hotel in Venice, which is definitely recommended to stay at. - It took us a while to find this hotel, the only directions were the address and " it's only a five minute walk from the station " People we asked for directions were less than helpful but eventually we arrived. The staff at reception were very good and we were soon shown to our room. This was quite small but adequate with a lovely view over the canal. The bed was very comfy and had a good sleep, In the morning we were provided with a very nice breakfast. This is a hands on hotel by the owners and it shows with their attention. Do definitely recommend as a hotel to stay at.
- Margaret (8/5): Charming hotel in a lovely part of Venice - This was an absolutely charming hotel in a very nice part of Venice with shops, bars and restaurants close by. It was walkable to everything and away from the bustle of St Marks Square. We chose a room overlooking a bustling walkway, canal and bridge which we enjoyed throwing open the windows and soaking up the atmosphere. The hotel has a lovely courtyard and the breakfast was so plentiful that we only needed a coffee and gelato for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful too. It was great that there was a lift which many of the older historic properties don’t have. The only thing that didn’t make our stay a 5 star one was the room was really tiny and could hardly accommodate our 2 large suitcases and we’d have to step over them and bumped into them when going to the bathroom overnight. Another “plus” was the WiFi was good and there were PowerPoints on either side of the bed, which was large and comfy.

- Stuart (10/5): - This is our 1st time at this hotel and 4th stay in Venice. We can not speak highly enough of this hotel it was brilliant in every way. Lovely and attentive staff, great breakfast, lovely room serviced every day and tea and coffee in room. We love the location as it’s near Piazzale Roma so short walk and easy to get to from the air port. We will definitely be staying at this Hotel again.

- VARUN (6/5): - we booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. the location is excellent as only 5 min walk from the bus/taxi stand. The rooms need modernisation, one of the rooms had massively stained carpets, and the bathroom was in a poor state. the rooms need a bit of modernisation to be honest. the breakfast was good, and the air conditioning was excellent in the rooms after a long walk around the city with 31 C temperatures. The staff is very helpful and polite.
- DL2Some (10/5): Perfect location from which to explore Venice! - The location was easily accessible from the main bus stop and the train station. It is a quiet area with a number of restaurants nearby. The rooms are a bit small, but are well maintained and the beds are comfortable. The staff are warm and extremely helpful. Lucia, Luca and Elena were always ready to answer questions and offer suggestions. The breakfasts were wonderful and the bar manned by Angel offered a wide array of spirits, wine and beer.

Very clean rooms and breakfast area with very helpful staff in the Lobby. 5 minutes walk to the bus/taxi and water bus./taxi ranks. 15 minutes from the airport. Can't recommend it enough!

- Susan M (10/5): Canal side in Venice - Hotel was built in 1500 so it has minor issues.Breakfast included was very good. There are no vehicles in Venice so all transport is by water or walking. No bicycles or scooters allowed. Beds were comfy and elevator worked most times. Note...High tides affect elevator operation. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

The hotel was very clean, the bartender exceptionally friendly and the breakfasts alway hot and fresh. The hotel is out of the busy tourist zone with lots of great restaurants and shops in the immediate area. Loved it and would definitely stay again.

- Martha-Mert (6/5): - Nice hotel. Staff was awesome, as was the complementary breakfast. Location is very good. In a less trafficked area so not as busy as more touristy areas...which we liked. Rooms are quite small. We had to have them remove a desk chair so we could fully open both of our clam shell suitcases. A/C was, also, cut off on the whole island after 10/1 (per the front desk) so our room was incredibly hot (outside temps were in the 80s which was unusual for October). That made things pretty miserable. Nice hotel, but we would probably not stay here again, due to the room size.

The garden was peaceful and nice to be able to have a cocktail in. Location was great. Quiet and easy walk to all the typical sights. We would stay there again.

The management did bring up two fans to get the air circulating, but that made the room even smaller. Management said he could not find another property t for me to move to. I had do find one. With moving I lost 1 day of my Venice trip

The whole hotel, the areas, breakfast room, customer attention, staff greeting, cleanliness, the AMAZING breakfast, etc; makes it a total go to in Venice. We were leaving early in the morning so the hotel gave us a pack up breakfast which was appreciated. Our room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed and a view of a canal - I don’t think we could expect much more for the very reasonable price
