• Faye (10/5): Experience the real beauty of Amsterdam - Everything about this property exceeded our expectations! Situated in a charming and historic part of Amsterdam we found everything within easy reach, from great coffee to wonderful restaurants and bars. Our accomodation was on the ground floor so very easy regarding luggage and even though right alongside the street we found it almost soundproof. Exquisite room with lots of very thoughtful touches from our warm and welcoming hosts. I’m missing it already.

Very comfortable bed which was wonderful after 30+ hours of traveling. Heated bathroom floors! Mark, the host was friendly & helpful. We were even sent a message informing us there was a time change in Amsterdam. The lovely tulips & stroopwafels in our room upon arrival was such a nice touch. No complaints at all.

The church nearby has bells all night which can be a problem if you’re a light sleeper (ear plugs were supplied though!) All in all a lovely stay

Forgot travel adaptor for mobile phone and owner had one I could borrow, was husband’s birthday when we were there and they left a small gift. Both of which was much appreciated. Lots of places close by to eat, very close to Anne Frank house, 20 minute walk from Centraal Station. Would I stay here again, yes.

No kitchen sink or utensils, but not a negative for us. Great location- about 20 minutes walk to central station. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Our hosts were top notch. We went for a walk one afternoon and our hosts left us a little chocolate for when we came back. They give you such a nice personal touch. I couldn't say more. Is it in the more pricey area of Amsterdam, yes it is. But in life...you get what you pay for. and this stay is well worth the money. Id book over and over again if we ever came back to Amsterdam. Its right near all the amazing restaurants and places you want to be. Amsterdam can get a little seedy the further east you go so this area is right where you want to be.

He contacted me in advance & made several recommendations for things to do. Mark was very attentive during my stay and always responded immediately. Blossom House is perfectly located to all attractions. I walked everywhere during my stay. The neighborhood is very safe and extremely cozy with lots of great cafes & restaurants. Mark was a lovely host, getting in touch with helpful tips on how to get to the hotel, leaving recommendations for restaurants and maps of the local area.. Anne Frank and canal cruises are less than a 5 minute walk and the Dam area is a perfectly walkable wander if you wanted the more touristy area. Would certainly recommend both the hotel and area.

The room was serviced each day and there were lovely touches such as the stroopwaffles and chocolate gifts. Our wonderful host Mark could not do enough for us and my mum was especially touched by his birthday prosecco gift for her. We stayed in the ground floor room and could not fault it. Mark was also accommodating in letting us store our cases prior to check in and after check out which meant we could fully enjoy every day of our trip. A special birthday break for my mum that we'll never forget. Perfect! Nothing!

Amenities provided were very appreciated. We had a change of towels halfway through our 5 night stay. Mark was a very friendly, helpful host. There was nothing we didn't like.

• Vanessa (10/5): Experience Amsterdam as an Amsterdamer - This is a special lodging experience for the independent traveler. The rooms are in a 17th C Dutch house in the terrific Jordaan District of Amsterdam. The first floor room where we stayed is smartly appointed, with loads of light from the wall of windows looking out onto the narrow, picturesque street. The room has a very comfortable bed, with air-conditioning, responsive hosts, and is reasonably priced. The Blossom House is near many cafes and stores, the canals, and public transportation. As the owners indicate on their website, if you have any mobility issues, it’s best to reserve the downstairs room to avoid the narrow stairs to the first floor.

The room is beautiful and comfortable. Mark and Paul were incredible hosts and we had a great time chatting with them. If we ever get back to Amsterdam, this is definitely where we would stay! Be sure to check out Cafe Chris next door for a drink!

It's in a great location close to the main sights and there are great dining options close by. The room was really stylish and immaculate, with plenty of room for us as a couple. The room was perfect and beautifully decorated with lots of tasteful extras. Mark thoughtfully replenished the coffee pods and replaced towels part way through our stay and provided other lovely extras, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise! The breakfast and dinner recommendations in the info package were excellent and we enjoyed lots of lovely meals during our stay. Great hosts - thank you Mark! The bar next door is an added bonus and well worth a visit for a night cap. It’s one of the oldest in A’dam with lots of character.

Firstly it’s lovely to turn up to somewhere that looks exactly like the photos, it’s beautiful! perfect location, in walking distance to everything. we were met by the owner on arrival and communication leading up to arrival and during our stay was spot on. towels changed regularly, alcoholic and soft drinks replenished often also, along with little surprise treats such as waffles and chocolate :0) I would stay here again and will recommend to all my friends if ever they go to Amsterdam.

Mark (host) was fabulous and on hand to provide local advise and also to ensure our stay was perfect by surprising us with sweat treats and topping coffee pods when requested (I consume more coffee than the average person I’m sure) we were in the first floor room which was very private and had all amenities needed. The bed & pillows were really comfortable..There is a steep staircase to get to that room but this is to be expected in Amsterdam. To get to this property it is a 10 min walk from the centre or 2 tram stops from the station.. we loved this neighbourhood as lots of cafes and restaurants without being in the busy centre. A warm welcome from Mark and lovely small touches like stroopwaffels and chocolate. Also excellent communication from Mark.. Beautifully decorated rooms. Not a problem as we knew about this (just read the reviews) but if you have mobility issues or are unsteady at all on your feet, you may want to book the downstairs room as the stairs are traditional style, very narrow and steep. I found this just another interesting part of the house though.
