• C3896OVab (10/5): Birthday Twirl - It was a nice venue. I have walked past this hotel many nights coming from the Eagle L.A., it was awesome to finally have a reason to go inside. The staff was nice and friendly and told me happy birthday. The rooms open up onto the back side. There was enough light, seating and plugs. They had a snack and alcohol bar where the items were reasonably priced. The rooms were equipped with Diptyque products (which my hair absolutely loved). I look forward to staying here again soon. Reesee was the best and complimented my outfit when I left for the evening (she has a great eye). She was welcoming to me upon my return for a night out.
• 541stevenjw (10/5): I thought I posted this in 2024 - In May of 2024, I had been recommended the Silver Lake Pool & Inn by a friend. In making my California travel plans, I decided to book a room there for two nights. As I try to do, I called the day before my arrival, only to discover I’d made a mistake in my days and booked the room for the following week. I was speaking with Alyssa. She could not have been any nicer, and could hear the panic in my voice. She assured me it would all be okay, and checked to make sure they could still accommodate me. And they could! I flew in from New Mexico the next day. My Uber pulled up to the Inn that afternoon, where I was greeted by the ever-big-smiling Carlos! He gathered all my luggage (always too much luggage), and lead me up to the front desk. I got to thank Alyssa again in person. Carlos then lead me to my room and unloaded ALL of my luggage into my room. I have to say - the room is wonderful. Smartly decorated and super comfy. With all kinds of fun and delish goodies you can purchase when hungry or thirsty. I took a stroll of the property. The entire space is a lovely piece of architecture, with the pool area feeling like one’s own private oasis. The Inn is in walking distance of so many spots to dine and shop and imbibe. I found myself sitting at the bar for breakfast my first morning. Terrific food. Fun to be served by the very fun Enselmo. I came back for lunch - the flare of Italian is strong. I had a fantastic Eggplant Parmesan-ish dish and cocktails. This time it is was Morgan pouring my drinks. She’s from Palisociety’s hotel in Culver City, and she was visiting the property. I’m learning how this hotelier excites their staff from all over their map. I’m glad I got some time at the pool. It’s got a bit of old school LA glamor to it, with folks from all over enjoying the nice private setting. And then there was Gilbert Vela - the General Manager of the hotel. I’m a “people watcher” - and I saw this guy making sure he spoke to every guest in the 54 room hotel. An affable smile on his face all the time. I shared with Gilbert, that my next destination was a wedding weekend in Downey, and was unsure what the dining offerings were. He knew that area well, and wrote down several restaurants for me to check out (which I did - and he was spot on). When he found out I was from Albuquerque, he told me about a new property that was in the making there. This excited me as well. When it was time for me to check out after my two wonderful nights - I kinda didn’t want to leave. All the staff is terrific and friendly - the front desk crew - the servers in the restaurant - housekeeping - and then Carlos. Every hotel should have a Carlos. He had greeted me every time I left go discover the fun stuff in the area. His last goodbye - made me know I’d be returning to the nicest Pool & Inn in Silver Lake. This was written in 2024 - I somehow messed up in it not being posted back then.

• Jazz_and_cocktails (8/5): Enjoy the Pool. - The hotel is aptly named - for us the pool was the best part of the experience. We booked a four night stay while visiting my son and his partner who live in the area. There was an issue with our online reservation and we had to rebook, which put us in an deluxe king, as the regular kings were taken. Check-in was pretty fast and friendly, we received a voucher for one free drink and proceeded to our second floor room. Said room was spacious and airy. To me the design suggested mid-century or perhaps Scandinavian - it managed to feel modern but not austere or clinical. One thing that was odd was the lack of nightstands - there was a sort of console behind the bed, but nothing to the sides. On the other side of the console there were two cushions for seating - but these faced the closet and we would up using those for our bags -- wasted space. I moved a side table fashioned from a tree stump to serve as a nightstand. The bathroom was modern and well fitted, with Diptyque amenities. The minibar was packed with the usual high priced beverages, there was almost no room for anything we brought. This is kind of a shame as the nearby Erewhon is quite convenient for fresh fruit and drinks. Another console running across the front of the room under the window held the usual snacks and libations, along with a sleek Nespresso machine which we enjoyed. Sleep quality was a mixed bag - the bed and linens were excellent, we were not troubled by noise from other guests -- but there was some road noise - probably from Santa Monica Boulevard, which in this neighborhood is not the major thoroughfare it becomes further west. Although the pool is not large, it is inviting and refreshing. Due to the relatively small number of rooms we were always able to get seating, and on all but one occasion enjoyed sunbeds. One night there was some sort of function with a roster of comics - we sat off to the side and caught the show. We had breakfast in the restaurant the last day - my plate with eggs, bacon, avocado and potatoes was excellent. The restaurant and the outdoor area near it are quite inviting. One thing to note is that if you want housekeeping you must request it before 5 p.m. the day before - this seemed a bit odd to me, and we only took advantage of it once. Our room was very clean, and we managed without on the other days. Overall, the location worked for us, and we may stay here again.

She followed all the steps of service and was very helpful with her suggestions which helped me decide on my order. I noticed she was very friendly with all the tables she interacted with and everyone seemed to enjoy her service. I will definitely be coming back!

• angelaw107 (10/5): Great location, some misses - a little pricey but probably on par for location - Silver Lake Pool and Inn falls into one of those boutique hotels that is a renovated motel. I like it when hotels manage to do the design + function - here the hotel meets the design (lovely) but misses on the function (i.e. no drawers to store clothes in room, and no intro / instructions to finding the pool, how to order food at the pool, etc). Service was a bit lackluster at the front desk, but valet was friendly and prompt. There was a miss on the room - it looked like a smart TV but the Netflix streaming function was not yet available? They brought up an HDMI cable but did not know how to hook it up - so we were unable to use. They did compensate us for the inconvenience by removing the resort and valet fee on check out. They also did honor the room upgrade / late check out travel perks that we had with booking through Fora. Pool area is beautiful and the absolute best thing about the hotel is that it is right next to the upscale grocery store Erewhon. No need to worry about breakfast or lunch - the options next door are delectable.
• V6110AKricka (10/5): Great experience at Silver Lake Pool and Inn - When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean. This Inn is really close to the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd, and there are many places to check out within walking distance. It was fun to walk around on a Saturday morning. We also ate at the Marco Polo inside the Inn. The food was really good and the servers were all friendly.

Food at Marco Polo was super, and I considered moving there just to take a tucked away table permanently, bring my laptop, and go to work. The only thing that I thought would be an improvement would either be a set of drawers in the room or at least one of those foldable suitcase racks to more easily access clothes.

The service was incredibly cool and genuine from the restaurant to the hotel. Pool vibe was chill and not weird or pretentious. Check-in and check out were also lovely, and the valet was kind and friendly from arrival to departure.

On this latest stay, America helped with preferences in my room and helping me have the most relaxed weeklong stay possible. The rooms are laid back, and the location is perfect surrounded by shops and restaurants without the tourist trap vibes of Hollywood. Highly recommend for those visiting or in LA for work.
• Ian (9/5): - What an excellent, thoughtfully prioritized hotel! So many of the good qualities of some other hotels (The Ace, The Standard, etc), but done so much better! The room size, layout, and design are incredible. the cork floors, terrazzo sinks, tiled window ledge, plants, etc. All so thoughtful, and everything is so crisp and new feeling. The mini nespresso machine is a perfect touch. Marco Polo is a great restaurant. The focaccia with tomato compote is insane, as is the cacio e pepe and the vongole. I had a lovely martini there as well. These are truly minor issues... The sound isolation between rooms (and floors) could be better. You can hear neighboring toilets flushing and the murmuring of people speaking in the adjacent rooms. A Bluetooth speaker to connect your phone to to play music in the rooms would be a nice addition. I wish that tiled window ledge had a space to sit at, to work, or to eat. A table or desk is the one thing missing. The closet light should turn off when the door is shut, not on a timer. Could use a coat hook/s right after you exit the entry to hang jackets and clothing. It would be amazing if there were a few spa amenities on offer, but now I'm reaching!

I checked in at the front desk of the hotel with Miguel who was knowledgeable and professional and directed me to meet my friend. He offered me to sit and wait while he contacted my friend to meet me in the lobby which was festive and decorated tastefully for the holidays. Once my friend met me we headed for the restaurant. We were greeted by Jeffrey who seated us. He promptly asked us what we would like to drink. I had a Coastal Sprtiz which is my fav at Marco Polo and my friend had a Naked & Famous which has Mezcal. I had a taste and it was really good and tasty. The meal from beginning to end was excellent. Throughout the meal Jeffrey and Amy Jo kept checking in. The service was on point! We also had a surprise visit from Chef Jesse. I made sure to tell him what a great job he did with food preparation and presentation. Every dish tasted amazing! We had the Fall Burrata with butternut quash which was to die for followed by the baked clams also very good. For entrees we had the Paccheri Allá Vodka and Hanger Steak both cooked to perfection and for dessert the best Pumpkin Olive Oil Cake! A visit to Marco Polo at the Silverlake Pool & Inn is a must when in Silverlake. Kudos to all for one the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time! I’ll definitely be back to try the Panettone French Toast! Cheers!

The vibes here are immaculate, from the music to great drinks to the outdoor area which mix the best of California and Italy. I came with a friend for happy hour and drinks on a Thursday afternoon and had a great time. Our server Leslie was friendly and attentive and made great recommendations on food and drinks. We especially liked the oysters, charred broccolini and linguini vongole off the dinner menu. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The supervisor Melissa also made sure to drop by our table to say hi and make sure everything was to our liking. We also got lucky enough to meet the chef, Jesse, who was excited to tell us about the food and recommended the olive oil cake for the dessert which was to die for! It’s too bad I moved away from this area because when I lived in silverlake, this was my go to place. Great bartenders (especially Ivy), servers, and the pool events in the spring and summer are awesome! The coffee and brunch are also top notch, and I’m planning on coming back for my birthday soon.

The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with large windows and a lovely view of the Hollywood hill & sign. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful — Carley gave us several great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, including the wonderful Los Angeles Arboretum. The on-site Marco Polo restaurant was a great cozy spot for outdoor brunch and pre-dinner cocktails. We look forward to staying at the Silver Lake Pool and Inn next time we visit LA.

Perfect location — surrounded by great coffee, food, and bars, with the Silver Lake Reservoir just a short drive away. Everyone was warm and accommodating — and Carley, especially, made us feel like VIPs and took incredible care of us out-of-towners. More than a hotel stay, it was a true LA experience .

• Asher (2/5): - We paid a fortune for a room and they offered us a late check out which was really nice. We are getting married in two days and we have family in town sleeping everywhere at our place. Kids running around from the early morning. We just needed a quiet night and a chance to sleep in to 9:30/10. This hotel was an expensive HUGE mistake. They started doing construction between 7 and 8 AM in the room above us. We could hear furniture being dragged and knocked over and hammers pounding and it was awful. For three hours, we endured it with earplugs and pillows over our head. The front desk was useless when we mentioned it to them. Their response was oh we can waive the $30 resort fee. What resort? We arrived at 8:30 and everything was closed. We had to walk to a bar down the street just to get a drink before bed. I don’t think I’ve ever been angrier with how disrespectful it was to offer a $30 waiver on a resort fee when we had such an awful experience. There’s some serious training that needs to happen with the front desk staff that they think that something like that is OK. Again, avoid this place at all costs. They clearly only want your money and they don’t give a crap about your experience.

• sheldonm604 (10/5): Consistently a great boutique hotel and restaurant - This is one of those rare boutique hotels, where if you’ve been there a few times everybody recognizes you and welcomes you back. Everything is at peak cleanliness. Your bed is comfortable ( this is a big deal if you’ve been to enough hotels). The restaurant is amazing and I am always so impressed that so many people not staying at the hotel come to Marco Polo because it is such a great and consistently wonderful boutique restaurant. Amazing dishes. One night when I was there, there was a large wedding party who out of every restaurant in the Los Angeles area shows Marco Polo for their evening dinner celebration. That says so much. I love the pool up on the top deck and spend time sitting up there reading and relaxing, even if I’m not in the pool itself . And of course, the staff from the restaurant come up and offer to bring you anything on the menu. The best part of the hotel is that the staff are all so happy and greet you with a smile . It’s not just the Front Desk people like America or Amber, who are amazing. Juan Carlos, who parks the cars, greets me with a hug every time I’m there and it feels like he’s an old friend. Anselmo the breakfast waiter is always happy to see you in the mornings. Javier, the houseman is such a hard worker. I watched him cleaning up by the pool one morning, and he was down on his hands and knees, picking up the tiniest little bits of litter, and it seemed to me that this guy was treating this property like it was his own home. Patty, the housekeeping Director Bends over backwards to be of help, always with a “yes what can I do for you” attitude. And when I needed something, Oralia cleaned my room early also with such a smile. And all of this because Miguel, who is the assistant manager and the boss Gilbert clearly love their jobs and that ripples out to everybody , making every stay at Silver Lake Pool and Inn a wonderful experience. .

The room was twice the size of the usual hotel room and carefully curated with a great mini bar and reasonably priced snacks. The restaurant, Marco Polo, was terrific. The menu was small but each dish we tried was delicious - try the Chopped Italian Salad and the Artichoke Misto - literally the best preparation of an artichoke I have ever had and we cook them regularly. They also provide room service. The pool was a very nice addition especially in the hot weather. And I did not initially realize that the Silver Lake District was literally a block away. There's also an Erewhon on the same block. It can be tricky to find a decent hotel in LA and I was very, very pleasantly surprised. They are part of the Palisociety group, so check them out for other locations. I'm going to.

The beds are extremely comfortable, and the front desk people are very friendly and very helpful. Great outdoor pool on the 2nd floor! We got room service for breakfast one morning and the food was delicious but there's really no place to set up an area to eat in the room because the chairs are so low and not conducive to eating breakfast. The bar and restaurant are very good as well.

Front desk waived the resort fee for the inconvenience, which we appreciated. - There are no facial tissues in the room, and the toilet paper is sooo rough. Very strange for a hotel that uses Diptyque toiletries. - If you're on the bottom floor of the hotel, expect to hear people walking around in the rooms above you.

• michelleaB1397GW (10/5): The space for some R&R in Silver Lake - I wasn’t sure where to book for a stay in the Silver Lake/Los Feliz neighborhood of LA and am so glad I found this haven! This small, boutique hotel has very spacious rooms, a fully stocked mini bar fridge, comfortable bed, high quality linens/towels, clean, and bright. The closet is a bit small and there is no dresser/drawers but there is ample shelving for your clothes and suitcase. The bathroom vanity has one sink but loads of storage. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - from the valet to check-in to the hotel bar/restaurant and poolside service. Did I forget to mention the pool?! It’s on a second floor deck and while on the small side, there are plenty of chairs and loungers with plenty of sun and shade. There are fabulous restaurants, bars, shopping, and coffee shops within walking distance of the hotel (it’s one block off Sunset). There is also an Erewhon grocery next door with an amazing array of prepared food, drinks, and groceries. I highly recommend this property when in the LA area.

Junior reception staff seem more aloof, laidback and ‘fun’ but unaware of how to help in problem-solving sense. NOTES: I was a bit disappointed when I realized after check-in they were part of the Pali group of hotels. I had stayed at the Culver location which was also ‘aesthetically pleasing’ but ultimately not worth the price for what you get and not anywhere I would revisit.

• 742Donsy (6/5): Didn't live up to the hype - We were excited to stay at the Inn since we visit family in Silver Lake often. We will not be back anytime soon. The rooms are strange and somehow we had a handicapped room which was not what we reserved that shot water everywhere upon showering. The floor tiles in the shower are so dangerous and like being on ice and the hotel should consider changing them. We had to use a rubber mat in order not to slip. We were asked at check in whether we wanted daily housekeeping and we replied that we did. We never had service once and the last day of our stay we let them know, but only received fresh towels. The room itself was odd with nowhere to put anything in the bathroom and the one chair in the room was hard and leather and so uncomfortable. A small desk area would be better. The walls must have zero insulation because we could hear everything said until the wee hours next door. One reason we stayed here was for the pool time. We finally had time to do that on a Sunday but arrived to find that the Inn opens up the postage stamp size pool to the entire local community on Sunday afternoons! It was packed and total chaos, so we had to leave. We don't appreciate paying a resort fee when we can not use the pool and received no housekeeping. The positives are it was clean, the valet parking worked well, Erewhon next door and proximity to relatives. Hopefully this hotel will become improved in the future given its location.

Communicating with the staff before and during our trip was delightful and everyone we encountered had a friendly attitude. Shout out to Alyssa for your help! The location is amazing – it’s tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but also a few minutes away from lots of fun things in Silver Lake. The room was perfectly designed and we had everything we needed. We loved visiting the pool and getting Happy Hour at Marco Polo, their on-site restaurant. Will definitely be back in the future and hope to stay even longer at this beautiful haven.
