- erineU856RD (2/5): Power in Room Turns Off Every 30 mins by Design - The rooms are designed to have the power turn off automatically at about every hour. If you have a medical device, want AC to run continuously at night, need light of any kind or need power or any reason while sleeping, you will be waking up hourly throughout the night. Awful and exhausting experience. A short-sighted cost saving measure that can actually be dangerous unless someone is prepared for a full camping experience while staying here/ has back up batteries, etc. I called the front desk multiple times throughout the night and no one picked up. At one point someone offered to “change my room” but acknowledged that this feature is in all rooms so I’m not sure what that would have accomplished, and they could not offer an explanation or solution. Now I understand why my colleagues avoid this hotel. Lesson learned.

Also for breakfast the eggs were cooked wrong and it took 10 minutes to get ketchup and hot sauce which should of came with the food

Shower handle broken, no towel racks, no handle to close the shower door, no space for suitcase. Staff does not greet you ever. Airconditioning lets through air from the kitchen, so we always had a food smell in the room. Curtains were broken and didn’t open or close properly.

- victoriagO9741HS (4/5): Would Not Stay Here Again - I stayed at the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood and it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. I went in expecting something closer to a four star stay, but it really felt more like a two and a half or maybe three at best. The room was tiny, honestly felt like a matchbox. There was also a really unpleasant smell the whole time. You know that stale hotel smell that makes it obvious a lot of other people have been through the room, and not in a good way. On top of that, there was a gross smell coming from the sink. Cleanliness was a big issue. There was a blood stain on the sheets and the towels had black stains on them, which is just not acceptable. To be fair, it was relatively quiet, which I appreciated, and when the staff did respond they were usually quick and helpful. The problem was actually getting through to the front desk. A lot of the time it took multiple tries and asking more than once to get anything done. Overall it just did not live up to what it claims to be. With better cleaning and more consistent service it could be a decent stay, but right now it falls way short of a four star hotel.

The rooftop pool and views are priceless! That I arrived at 7:30am and couldn't shower anywhere before the 3pm check in, after a long haul flight this wasn't ideal, it'd be useful if they had a communal shower on the rooftop or even the downstairs restrooms.

- Karl (8/5): Tolles, modernes Hotel - Das Hotel ist gut gelegen und liegt Fussnahe beim Hollywood Boulevard. Das Zimmer und Bad sind geräumig und stylisch-modern eingerichtet mit grossen Fenstern. Die Rooftopbar und Pool laden zum Verweilen ein. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist relativ teuer. Den Strassenverkehr inkl. Feuerwehr hört man sehr gut.

- Joakfield (8/5): Nice city based hotel - We enjoyed our stay at the Godfrey but a few things to be wary of. the rooms are tiny - there was nowhere for our luggage to be stored so it was very cramped. the bathroom was nice and the bed super comfy but too small. The rooftop pool was really nice - its small but perfect for a chill and sunbathe. The location is excellent and allowed to walk to all things in Hollywood. Helpful staff and a nice vibe to the hotel. Its a good city stay type of hotel.

Breakfast was good and I like the dining area which has large windows with sunshine! I enjoyed the modern design of the hotel. 1) Nonstop and numerous email and text reminders. Overbearing and after a while I just ignored. I wasn't sure if there was something I forgot or just informational. The urgency of the messages are misleading. I'm not sure if this is the norm for LA properties throughout LA or if this is unique to the Godfrey. In any case, it was annoying since I was on vacation. I fully realize that there are opt out options, but if you suffer from FOMO, it's going to drive customers absolutely insane. 2) I was given an interior room. I didn't realize there were interior rooms, was this mentioned when I booked through Booking.com? I would have chosen an outer room.

Rooms were quite small. If you have a room facing hollywood sign you also have a nightclub next door which was so loud especially when had just come in off a 13 hour flight. Girl on reception wasnt overly helpful or friendly.

Close to Hollywood sights and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The rooftop pool and bar were nice, with excellent views, although the bar was overpriced. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff could be friendly and helpful or sullen and rude depending on when you spoke to them. There was also a lot of noise from the street. Unexpected charges for amenities and deposits totalling hundreds were extremely disappointing.

Small room but very comfy bed and clean. - Loved that it was quiet, could not hear traffic from outside (had a courtyard room), clean and the Illy coffee in the room was great! I loved the rooftop area, plenty of seating areas, high tops and lounge chairs around the pool. Amazing views! I also appreciated the $10 gift cards per/night to use for breakfast. My last night, was a Saturday and there was so much noise in the hallways that I could not sleep. People partying. The hotel however, refunded me the last night stay, which was very generous of them. I had already read other reviews so I knew that the room would be very small. It definitely is small and there's not much space for any luggage or to put away your clothes. Only a small hanging area. No drawers, place to put shoes, etc

Deilig med basseng, og vannet var varmt til mars å være, usikker på om det er oppvarmet. Treningsrom var lite, men funksjonelt. Meget imøtekommende og trivelige ansatte. Kommer gjerne igjen.
- Dreamluxury (10/5): Hollywood Sweetheart- Godfrey - The Godfrey Hollywood is quite a social place. We loved the dramatic drive up entrance. It’s been awhile seeing this type fun arrival. The hotel is very airy with vaulted ceilings 18’, back lit walls, sliding glass walls in restaurant and gym. They have a small meeting space that has peeps in it as well. Of course the fun happens on the rooftop with pool. Lovely views of the Hollywood sign. When I was there the weather was stunning. The hotel dos not have suites but the rooms are in my opinion good size. I had the Corner King Room with vaulted floor to ceiling windows. All the amenities you need they were kind enough to provide a water on arrival. Beds are delicious because they are comfortable + the pillows and sheets were super comfortable. One of my very favorite parts were the bathrooms. Super clean!! Rain shower experience with Aveda products. Smelllssssss so good!!! I heard but didn’t experience the Jazz Day on Saturday. I will be returning every month due to business. The venues have solid cuisine offerings. My favorite is breakfast and lunch.

- SelinaCee (6/5): Good location, clean and well priced, but service not consistent and all facilities not available on our stay - We stayed one night here when passing through and wanted a decent affordable hotel close to Hollywood Boulevard, as hadn't stayed in this specific part of LA since 2013. The rooftop pool and bar was a big draw for us too. Overall it was a decent stay, but with pros and cons: Pros:- The place was easy to find, and is well placed to get to all the sights/local restaurants etc on foot The rates were not extortionate for the location The valet chap was super friendly and helpful The rooms were clean We booked a room with a view of the Hollywood sign, and the large windows were a bonus Cons:- The check-in guy was very neutral and not very welcoming The rooms are small with a bit of a cramped layout for the coffee machine area/wardrobe etc The rooftop bar and pool area were not accessible to us on the night we stayed, due to a private function, which was disappointing, as was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel We did get chance before checking out to go up to the rooftop and se what we'd missed out on, and it was lovely up there! Not sure we'd stay again for only one night if we couldn't be sure all the facilities are available, and if we did would maybe try to book a larger room if they're an option.

- nataliewO1798XW (10/5): Excellent Hollywood Hotel close to Pantages Theater - I really enjoyed my one night stay at The Godfrey Hotel with my Mom and Aunt. Upon arrival, I asked if it would be possible to change my King Room to 2 Queens and Alexis at the front desk was happy to accommodate us at no extra charge. Everywhere inside the hotel is very clean, including our room. The only thing I found odd was that there was no place to hang the wet bath towels. The 2 bath robes were very comfortable. Our favorite part of this hotel was the rooftop bar with a beautiful view. The food was fantastic and the staff gave excellent service. If you’re going to see a show at the Pantages like we did, this is a perfect hotel to stay in, as the theater is a short walk away. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

I stayed during GRAMMY Week and met a lot of people by just sitting in the lobby working throughout the day. Rooms are clean and modern. Love the staff. Great value for business travelers. The gym was decent, it got the job done!

Rooms were small but clean and the beds were so comfortable. Impressed that the GM William was so kind and approachable had great conversations with him.loved his energy and professionalism. Cant wait to come back to the Godfrey .

- lynnettek2026 (8/5): Clean Hotel Within Walking Distance to Everything Hollywood - Overall, this was a nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. Check-in and check-out were easy. The hotel was within easy walking distance of everything we needed (LA Film School graduation, Hollywood Walk of Fame, good coffee, nice restaurants. We were able to park our car when we got there and just use our feet for everything else. The space is a little tight, but we weren't in the room much, so it was okay for us. The rooftop was nice, but you can't take your own food up there, and the restaurant served everything in/on plastic - even plastic utensils, which didn't feel very classy considering the seven of us spent almost $300. The pizza was good, though. Oh, and we stayed in a two-queen bed room with four people, and there weren't enough working outlets for our devices. The two USB ports on the nightstand didn't work, so we had to trade off in charging our devices, which was inconvenient. We were able to use Chromecast to log in to our streaming services and watch whatever we wanted, which was awesome! This needs to become the norm! Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and the rooftop offers great views of Hollywood, but it’s the staff that made our stay exceptional!! From the moment we walked in we felt so welcome and well taken care of. The genuine hospitality was reflected in every one we interacted with. Thank you team Godfrey, can’t wait to be back!

Other aspects of the hotel did not stand out. I was very disappointed with this hotel. A major downside is the staff — nobody at the reception was friendly, and no one greeted us at any time. The room was catastrophically small. The room we got was not as shown in the photos and had a different view, even though I paid extra for a window view. The king-size bed, as advertised, was actually smaller. The towels were in poor condition, dirty and stiff, and there was only one bathrobe for two adults. The bathroom light bulb was burnt out, and nobody replaced it. The windows were dirty, which ruined the enjoyment of the view. Breakfast downstairs was unappetizing. Would we stay here again? No. Would I recommend this hotel? No.

- Megan (3/5): Rooftop closed and tiny room - very disappointed - We stayed at the Godfrey Hotel for just one night, specifically choosing it for the rooftop pool and bar. To our disappointment it was closed for a private event that afternoon and evening so we never got to experience it. We should have been advised in advance. On top of that, our room for a family of four was tiny and nowhere to leave your luggage - we were having to step over the suitcases around the bed. Not a great experience at all.

- Cátia (5/5): Decent but not and enjoyable experience - Clean, good location The room was really small. Everyday the reception was completely full of people outside from the hotel and it was so loud, it was hard to get in. On the second night something in our room was “beeping”. We told the reception and someone came to change the battery of the fire alarm, after a long time of waiting. On the next day when we went to the room that sound was there again. We called the reception and we were told that there was no one at the hotel to see it. We slept all night with that beep sound. It was terrible. In addition, the people from the reception and the restaurant were not that nice, just answering what they need to answer and that’s it.

- Camilla (7/5): Bra läge, bra AC på rummet, skön säng, rent och fräscht. - Läget var helt OK, rummet var fint och det fanns kylskåp. Buffén var kall och usel, brödet torrt och inget fanns kvar en halvtimme innan stängning. Vi skulle betala 400 SEK per person vilket var ett otroligt överpris men de tog bort kostnaden efter att jag sa att vi inte ville äta där. Dagen innan tog vi från a´la carte vilket var mycket bättre! Bordet som man kunde använda som sminkbord var dåligt och hängde för mycket ner för att ens kunna ställa ett glas på. Två av tre kvällar var poolen och takbaren bokade för privata event så då fick vi inte vara där vilket jag tyckte var dåligt då vi betalat för ett hotell med pool.
